I am beyond impressed with Walt's Tree Service. We had them remove a VERY large white oak tree that was not only close to the house, but also close to power lines and underground utility lines. They pruned some overhanging branches, cut some firewood and cleaned off the roof. We hired Walt's Tree Service to take down a very large silver maple tree which had difficult access issues because it was in our backyard and we do not have an alley or driveway. We got five other bids and Walt's was BY FAR the lowest. They were also extremely good about following up and informative during the review and estimate process. For a job like this I would not always pick the lowest bid. Large limbs were going to have to be lifted over our neighbor's house and this huge tree had already dropped one large limb during a recent wind storm. So the most important thing for us was that the job be done well and safely. But Walt's also had the best reviews of any company that we considered. We were very happy we chose them. Like many other customers (and I checked several "rating" sites), we cannot say enough good things about the job they did. Like others we were very impressed with Anner Arevalo. He was terrific and very easy to work with. They did an amazing job on this difficult tree. They came out very quickly -- which was important due to the condition of the tree. Fantastic. We had just bought a house with a very large oak tree in our back yard that hadn't been pruned in years. I had two trees in my back yard that needed limbs trimmed/removed. Walt's tree service was the most reasonable quote out of three local companies. The were also very responsive, punctual, efficient and professional. They did a great job and cleaned everything up before leaving. And when I noticed a week later that a small section of my fence had been slightly pulled from its post, I called their office and Anner came out that same afternoon to fix the problem! We used Walt's for a recent job trimming our Oak and Maple trees in the backyard after finding the company online. Communication was poor from the start, and the price was higher than other quotes, but it fit our schedule better at the time. When they finally came, we think it was the owner who showed up briefly to supervise and was rude and confrontational. Not pleasant to deal with. When my wife asked him about a broken branch that they missed, he told her to quit bothering him, and it was not marked in the contract, so she was out of luck. He even had the audacity to suggest that she climb up and do it herself. We went back to the contract afterward and discovered it was written in to remove that large damaged branch. I am surprised at this type of behavior from anyone. The workers did a decent job and were friendly, but this was unfortunately overshadowed by their high prices and the poor borderline misogynist behavior. We will be looking elsewhere for our tree-trimming needs. read more

They came out to give me an estimate the day after I called (a neighbor had recommended them), and they underbid almost all other estimates. When there was a glitch with scheduling, they fixed it, and showed up on time the day work was scheduled. Workers were professional and highly skilled, and worked diligently to finish the job in one day. when the tree was down, They cleaned up my yard and my neighbor's yard, where some debris had fallen. A black cherry tree broke in such a way that it was leaning in some neighboring trees, stopping 4 inches from the tool shed. I did not know how they were going to take it down without a crane. But they did! Their price was the best of four quotes ($450 less than the highest), and they were able to come the next day. They were quick, friendly and cleaned up. Walt's Tree Service has been great. Anner in particular is a great guy and does a wonderful job of assessing your needs, and directing his team to get it done. We've used them twice. The first time was to cut down and remove a massive 4 story tall oak that was dying rapidly and in danger of dropping heavy debris. They brought in a crane; and in a few hours they quickly and amazingly cut if almost flush with the ground and took away all of the wood. The second time they trimmed the high branches of 4 trees (3 stories up) that are over our back yard. If you want it done quickly and correctly I recommend Walt's Tree Service. read more

The tree I had an issue with was in my neighbor's yard, and they were able to get it trimmed back with minimum intrusion to their property. This is such a phenomenal company!!! They removed 4 very large oak trees from my yard (overhanging my roof) - they were prompt, reasonably priced, very friendly and did a great job.
