Al-Posto - Italian Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

It was super easy to make a reservation online. My friend and I enjoyed wine & espresso martini cocktails which were amazing for our drinks. We shared the burrata which was delicious. I enjoyed the panzanella salad as my entree which was delicious and had such fresh flavors. My friend had the Cacio e Pepe which she said was one of the best pastas she's ever had! We also shared their seasonal ricotta cheesecake which was very good! I love the design of the restaurant and how they utilized the tall ceilings in the building! It was also Christmas time so they had a gorgeous real tree which was a great touch! Our servers, hostesses and the manager were also extremely nice and tentative! I have already recommended Al-Posto to friends and family and I definitely will be back! read more

We had several different pasta dishes and apps to include salads and burrata. Everything was prepared to perfection. Portions aren't huge but flavors were on point! Great atmosphere as well! read more

We just love everything about Al Posto! The staff is amazing! Whitney personally guided us in picking out wines to compliment our meal and Austin was there to ensure we had the perfect dining experience. It was my mother's 81st birthday and she was so excited to dress up and be pampered. Al Posto delivered and made her birthday extra special! read more

Finally, finally, finally, I went to an expensive restaurant and I am full. The servers were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was fantastic, the dessert was phenomenal, and the drinks were very nice. The ambiance did not give me an Italian restaurant vibe but I don't care tbh. This place is the best Italian restaurant that I have ever been to for a while! read more

Arrived at 6:15 and were seated. ordered a martini which took 15 or 20 minutes (Tuesday) which was served in a small champagne glass (very weak). I ordered the sausage panini which was so salty I couldn't eat it! My wife ordered a shrimp and pasta dish and asked to substitute chicken for the shrimp, which the waiter said they could handle. When this dish came out it was two leg quarters with fingerling potatoes and sauce. This was also extremely Salty, Nor anything close to what she ordered. The wine was good as is the ambiance. The waiter was on his game and the manager apologized and took my sandwich off the check. Not a good first experience read more

The food is fantastic. The service is pretentious. The hostess didn't greet us. We announced our name for the reservation and she didn't have the courtesy to give us a status on our table. I had to ask again if she heard me and the reason for the delay and she said it was because they had to add a seat at the end of a table fir 7. Our reservation was for 8 people. What restaurant sets tables for 7? All she had to do was acknowledge our arrival and explain what was going on. We would have understood. The waiter was young and inexperienced and tried rushing our orders like he was trying to flip a table at a diner. I had to remind him to let us have our round of cocktails before rushing into our ordering our appetizers and entrees. On three separate occasions he forgot specific requests. The end all was the mandatory 23% tip they added to our bill. Unreal. Alfiios down the street is much more hospitable and the food is equally - if not of better quality. The juice here isn't worth the squeeze. read more

Al-Posto was awesome - I went with the Arancini to start and finished with the short rib lasagna. The GM was very accommodating and knew her way around the floor, I'll be returning soon. read more

Cannot recommend "The Spot" enough! There is a team of extremely talented chefs behind this menu/restaurant and all of the food is excellent! My favorite is the orecchiette pasta, but the Branzino is a fav as well. You truly can't go wrong with anything on the menu, and all of the antipasti are fantastic. The tableside presentation of the Linguini Alla Flora prepared in the parmesan wheel is a cool and Instagram-worthy experience. They also have a great drink selection from house cocktails to wines by the glass and bottle -- I enjoyed a bottle of red wine and a port with dessert. Their aperol spritzes are great too and I'm excited to try the house cocktails next time. The desserts are also top tier by pastry chef Kayla Hunley (hunleybeepastry) -- keep an eye out for random dessert specials like this amazing blood orange tiramisu. The service and staff are great as well, everyone is very friendly from the hostesses to the management. Not to mention, it's in the most beautiful space!!! They have a gorgeous bar and upstairs dining area plus outdoor patio seating when the weather is nice. Even the bathrooms are cute (and clean!). Definitely check this place out if you haven't already, I've been twice and can't wait to go back! read more

We drove to Cincinnati for a show and went to Al-Posto for a late night meal afterward. There was nothing special about this restaurant. The ambiance was nice, but the service was awful and the food was nothing to write home about. It had so many good reviews, so I'm guessing it changed owners in the last year. read more

Everything was delicious!!! Burrata was amazing, nice to have different flavors to add to it. Had the mushroom fritti- I'm not a mushroom person and devoured them. Cacio e pepe was simple and delicious, husband got he gnocchi and really liked it Had cannoli dessert- maybe the best part?! True light cannolis We went for dinner pretty early so service was quick, all the food came out hot and well prepared read more

Went on a double date here last night...we way over- ordered (got basically everything on the menu) but it was all legit delicious. 100% a new addition to our resto rotation. read more

Al-Posto was amazing! We had a wonderful experience. Service was amazing, food was incredible and the owner sat next to us during our visit. He was going around to tables and making sure everyone liked the food and had a great experience. No photos to share of our main course, we were so excited we forgot! Highly recommend Garlic Shrimp Diavolo. The Linguine Alla Flora was a perfect summer dish, very light and refreshing. We had the meatballs as an appetizer and they were great. Tiramisu was also fantastic! We will absolutely be back! read more

Nice white tablecloth venue in the old Tellers space. Diverse, Italian menu. Decent, friendly service but a bit rushed. Good food but small portions, especially the salads. Decent sound level. Full bar. Overpriced by about 15%. read more

Our experience at Al-Posto exceeded our expectations. We wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an unforgettable culinary adventure. The Cacio is Pepe was simply divine, it created an explosion of flavors in my mouth. The Focaccia con Mortadella was outstanding and the Swordfish was cooked flawlessly retaining its moisture and tenderness. We are eagerly looking forward to our next visit. R&T Trost read more

I went there with my family and everyone enjoyed their meals. Service was great, our waitress knew a lot about the menu and always came to fill our waters/wine. The ambiance was very light and fit the vibe of a coastal Italian restaurant. It was more of a modern twist on northern Italian food. They use fresh and quality ingredients to create light meals. If you are wanting a heavier, more authentic Italian restaurant, I would choose somewhere else to eat. read more

Top notch service and atmosphere. The food is a bit of a hit or a miss. The focaccica, eggplant Parmesan, tiramisu, and cheesecake are to die for. The spaghetti and meatballs and linguini alla flora are pretty average, not worth the money. Each time I've gone here, it's been a wonderful experience. Definitely my favorite Italian food in town! read more

Busy but not overly loud or crowded. We didn't feel rushed at all. Server Evan was spectacular- attentive but not disruptive. Gave recs with confidence when asked. I was pleasantly surprised at all the vegetarian options. Like more than most restaurants in this category that I can think of. And non were impossible burgers so that's even better! Drinks stayed full. My friend got red wine and commented that she liked it so much she needed to note what it was so she could find it to buy. I got Prosecco- perfect temperature and I really enjoyed it. We split the arancini. Texture was perfect and I've had it at several places... texture can be hard to get right or sometimes temp is inconsistent through the middle. This was perfect. My friend stated that it was "life changing".... I'm not making that up. We split a panzenella tomato salad - very fresh with great dressing. Acidic in all the right ways and the taste lingered until our next course. We did the giant cheese wheel (linguine alla flora) at the table- a great experience! Steven (the GM) is also a cheese specialist (fromager) and was pleasant, put on a nice little show of preparing the cheese, mixing in pasta and plating it. People around us wanted to know what we had ordered once they saw the whole thing happening. It had a light taste, and did not feel heavy in my stomach. I ate the whole thing but wasn't overly stuffed. Dessert was amazing. She got an Affogato. I got a pudding but I can't remember what it was. So rich and had great crunch with rice crispies on top! Seriously had a great experience here. The price was great for what we got and I was full without feeling like we'd overeaten. It wasn't stuffy or intimidating but you can still dress up a bit if you'd like. It was well lit and easy to have a conversation even with a mostly full restaurant. It's gorgeous too- you won't recognize it from its previous iterations as a restaurant. My ONLY critique is that this place needs to have brunch. It's the only miss I can even think of! Surely the crowd/demand/demographic would support it and I can only imagine having egg strata, caprese omelette, focaccia toast, whipped yogurt with fresh fruit or elevated French toast and mimosas on that patio. Make sure to stop in the bathrooms for selfies bc they're gorgeous. read more

The food was excellent and the open atmosphere is refreshing. The service is friendly and attentive. We love Italian food and Al-Posto did not disappoint. Enjoy read more

As a first time customer, I was highly disappointed across the board. Our table was given to another group before we had even arrived. And the attitude of the staff was honestly the worst I've ever experienced. Just asking for a drink not on the menu was met with an obvious disdain. The food itself was comparable to an Olive Garden, but extremely overpriced. The Orecchiette was basically salty noodles swimming in olive oil, and the Cacio e Pepe was a glorified Macaroni and Cheese. The wine had to be personally delivered by a Sommelier, but had tartaric acid and sediments in the bottle. After waiting an abnormal amount of time for the bottle to be delivered, it was not decanted even though the Sommelier explain that this sediment is expected in "every organic wine" that they offer. After sending me overly salty food back and explaining the disdain with the $60 wine not being prepared correctly, a member in our party was permanently banned from the store. The advanced Sommelier took every criticism very personally, and responded in a very patronizing manner under the false guise of "protecting his staff members". If you are thinking of eating here, you should just save a few hundred dollars and go to any other Italian chain restaurant for the same experience. read more

SO AWESOME! food and environment was amazing! when we went they had a seasonal menu with the pasta made in the cheese wheel and i still think about it to this day it was so good. read more

Had a reservation...it took over an hour and a half to get our entrees. Service --horrible. Food, decent. But there are better Italian restaurants nearby. read more

This new Italian restaurant deserves to be noticed! Great service, perfectly prepared food, in comfortable and elegant surroundings. Austin and Giovanni have found the sweet spot of Italian dining with a selection of old pasta favorites (done just right) to fresh seafood that tastes like it was just caught in the waters of Sicily. And the wine! Austin, owner and sommelier, will find just the right wine for your dinner (And reasonably priced) Give Al Porto a try and you will be a fan and a regular! read more

My wife and I visited on opening night when they changed over from Dear to Al-Posto. No hiccups at all and the service was excellent. We had the burrata and arancini to start which were both delicious! I'm a sucker for spaghetti and meatballs and this dish does not disappoint either. The sommelier helped us through the wine menu to select a bottle that paired well with our entrees, it was such excellent service. I really enjoy wine but am less knowledgeable than I'd like, the whole process was really informative but in an approachable way. Just like Dear before it, Al-Posto is really purposefully decorated and creates a very nice dining experience. We will for sure be returning! read more

Wow, what a great experience! Group of four went for and had a fabulous Italian dinner. The brazino was cooked to perfection, linguine ....awesome, and spaghetti and meatballs really really good! Great service and friendly staff. Will be back soon! read more

Al-Posto - Classic martini - Italian Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

Food was ok wouldn't go out if my way to return. We miss the old menu and concept... wait times for everything was SLOW had plenty of staff and weren't overly busy so not sure what the problem was. Portions are small. Overall not impressed Used to be a favorite place for us ... plenty of great Italian restaurants we will go to before AL Posto read more

What an incredible dinning experience in beautiful Hyde Park. As you walk in you are instantly mesmerized by the beauty of the space. We were lucky enough to get to sit outside and enjoy the wonderful outdoor space and bar. The drink and dinner was on the small side but did not disappoint in flavor. I would recommend the Burrata to start and the Aperol Spritz as they were delightful! I can't speak more highly of the staff, they were so charming and just a joy to be around. Full of helpful advice and just made the dinning experience that much more. I will certainly be back many times over! read more

The ambience is wonderful, noise level pleasant and the food is just like your favorite Italian mama's.

A wonderful contemporary look at some classic Italian favorites while dining in a chic setting with phenomenal service. From soup to nuts, I would highly recommend. Don't forget to save room for the dessert. It was a highlight of the meal along with a espresso martini. Bon appétit! read more

Amazing food, wine and ambiance. Super cute & quaint restaurant. The pasta was great but the cinnamon ice cream was to die for. We'll be back! read more

Food was excellent! The atmosphere is superb. The patio was casual yet classy and the inside was great and open without being overly loud. Only complaint would be the server didn't seem to know much about the menu. For a menu that has many Italian words, I was expecting them to be able to answer questions which he was unable to do. Service was fast and attentive though! I'll be back read more

We came here for my boyfriend's birthday dinner and thought the food was pretty good. The restaurant has a very nice and clean ambiance, which we both liked. The service was just alright, we felt like the timing of our food was a little off. We got the focaccia to start and both really enjoyed it. Then we got the Misto House salad which we thought was good as well. The issue came with the table side linguini. As soon as the Parmesan wheel came out two people from other tables came and stood right over us to watch and video the entire thing. The staff member making the pasta was so focused on them and didn't say a single word to us, which was really disappointing and kind of ruined the whole thing considering we paid extra for the experience. Overall, food was good and its a nice place, but definitely would not order the table side linguini again as this was extremely disappointing on the service side. read more

Dinner was fabulous, our server Lucia L was one of the best we have had the pleasure of meeting. The decor was very enjoyable to dine in.

I was super excited to go here, especially because of the cheese wheel pasta. We ordered the Focaccia as a starter and that was delicious! Then as our entrees we ordered the Linguini and Gnocchi. Both came out lukewarm at best as a lot of other reviews mentioned. I also thought the linguini was done in a cheese wheel by the table but I guess that's only if you order the $60 portion (to me, that wasn't super clear on the menu). The linguini was also way too lemon-y. It really overpowered the dish. Service was good and the atmosphere is nice, but the food was a bit disappointing. read more
