Next time we will order the arancini again, burrata, and panzanella salad. He got the cacio e pepe and it was fabulous! I got the gnocchi and it was good. I will try a different pasta next time. The arancini (appetizer) came out before our drinks and was cold. The flavor was okay, but it was luke warm at best...We ordered the table side linguini pasta for 2 for dinner along with the chicken roulade. Again, both dishes were cold. We literally watched the guy spin the pasta in warm cheese at our table and it was still cold, which tells us that the pasta came out of the kitchen cold. The chicken was also like warm in a cold butter sauce. The service was fine, she did nothing wrong. The wine was good but at $17/glass it seems steep. This was our first time dining in this building since it was Teller's! Al Post has done a great job of turning the space into their own while also helping it maintain that special quality from its past. My friends and I were seated upstairs and while I loved where we sat, the noise level from there made it almost impossible to talk to each other. The music being played seemed way too loud for a nice dinner and then the volume from everyone else's conversations was distracting. We found it difficult to hear our server and each other. Our server was very nice and attentive but very soft spoken so we really had a hard time hearing anything she said. Amongst the table we tried the Burrata, Arancini, Cauliflower, Roasted Potatoes, Panzanella Salad, Eggplant Parmesan, Tableside Linguini Alla Flora, Dry Aged Salmon, and the Pugliese Skirt Steak Braciole. The standouts for us were the burrata, potatoes, eggplant, and salmon! My personal favorite was the eggplant!! The marinara has a rich and luscious flavor and it pairs perfectly with the breaded eggplant! The only dish I wouldn't order again was the panzanella salad - the bread wasn't quite stale enough and didn't have enough of a crunch so it made each bite very doughy. For dessert I tried the espresso martini and it was quite good! Overall, if there could be something done about the noise-level, I'd love to go back to try more of the pastas and mains. read more

When I try to describe my experience I'm reminded of A Tale Of Two Cities. Except it was neither the best of times, nor the worst of times. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful, but service got very slow after the appetizer. No bread was offered. None of the food I tasted was bad, but I wouldn't order any of the dishes again. The braciole was the best dish, the tiramisu the biggest disappointment (little flavor). Generally the flavors were strong and somewhat unique. The atmosphere was pleasant, but it got very loud. Horrible experience - unfortunately selected this restaurant for a company celebration. Called the day before to confirm. Asked if we could do some things for the celebration and were told we couldn't do it until the rest of the guests left. We ended up finding another business to go to after the dinner to do the celebration. Got to Al-Posto at 7 for our reservation only to have our employees turned away - they finally acknowledged our 7pm reservation but we waited - and waited - nearly 1/2 hour before we finally said, seat us someplace / they offered a private room that only "seated 6". We said we would take it if they would set the table for 7. They did and we were all comfortable. Waiter was nice but methodical making it known that he knew we had to get to the next venue. He served as best he could. Food was ok but overpriced for what we got - and they charge $5 for a non refillable glass of Coke filled with ice. If you're considering this restaurant, PLEASE read all the reviews to know what to expect. I've been here two times in the last couple of months. The service has been great. However, I've had to wait a little extra time past my set reservation time for a table both times. The espresso martini was great and our server was very patient and it took us a while to order/look at the menu as me and my friend were catching up. The Labrada was amazing and so was the caramel apple cheesecake, which was a seasonal dessert. I also had the chicken that I split with my friend. We were both surprised when it came on the bone... I don't remember it mentioning that on the menu, but maybe that is something I overlooked nonetheless still a great dish. I'm looking forward to trying this place out in the summer with the upstairs bar. I will be back to try more pasta, and I really want to try the pasta inside the cheese wheel. Next we had the eggplant Parmesan and the skirt steak barciodi. The eggplant had a very nice flavor. Unfortunately it too was cold. The cheese wasn't even melted. The skirt steak was overcooked and very dry. The atmosphere was nice and the staff friendly. When making the reservations, we were asked if we were celebrating anything. I did indicate we were celebrating a birthday. When we arrived, the hostess acknowledged we were celebrating a birthday. However, I was disappointed that they didn't acknowledge his birthday after dinner. A candle in the dessert we had ordered would have been a nice touch. We dined at Al-Posto for their grand opening and you wouldn't have known it! The service and food were both exceptional. Our waitress, Lily, was very attentive, knowledgeable, and personable. The wine list is thoughtfully curated, and I especially loved their house Prosecco. The burrata is a wonderful dish that is so creamy and pairs nicely with the strawberry and mint. Not to mention the focaccia is outstanding - a perfect complement to the dish. We ordered the Orecchiette, Branzino, and a side of Patate Frite. The Orecchiette was light, yet hearty. The fennel flavor was not overpowering and the portion was enough for me to share. The Branzino was perfectly cooked, flaky, and full of flavor. The frites were well seasoned and came with a side of delicious lemon aioli. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and I am excited to enjoy the extensive patio as it warms up! Each time the service was excellent, the ambiance was good but now the food has risen to very good. Location is right on the Hyde Park Square (oblong doesn't have the same vibe). Dined at this trendy, upscale Italian eatery, a few months ago, and food was great...all 4 of us ordered something different and the consensus was very favorable. The atmosphere is tough....depending on where they seat you, it is loud, even noisy. So interaction with your dining mates or even the server is difficult, at best, especially when seated on balcony upstairs. High ceilings (it was an old bank), and hard marble surfaces made for a noisy couple hours. Alas, we wanted to give it another chance....thought we made a valid reservation for a weeknight, but it was lost somewhere along the way. In fact, we'll accept the responsibility, but al Posto's response to our predicament was essentially "tough luck", and you can come in at 8:15 to sit at counter. We agreed, but when we arrived, rude hostess informed us that there is no more room at counter. She suggested we wait outside....along with another group who was not accommodated. So....moral of story? We are a busy, popular trattatoria, and we do not value just any guest, or their potential patronage, because....well, can't you see how busy we are? Post script...we walked 100 ft down the square, into Alfio's (equally, as busy) who were glad to welcome us, with appreciative accommodation, for a wonderful, tasty meal! Loved it!
