Meo and his team are very professional from consulting to installation. We love the micro inverters he recommended so much that we can monitor the performance of each panels. Also the whole process moved very fast since we reached out to Meo and the quote is very competitive too Highly recommended!!!

Highly recommend AHS for solar panel system installation. Great customer service. Expedient and informative planning process. It is okay to ask as many questions as you want including revisions to your plan. Top tier components and excellent workmanship. Most affordable pricing amongst over 10 different solar installation companies in the SF Bay Area. Meo Nguyen and his team managed all the permits and applications with Sunnyvale and PG&E. Short timeline to completion. Initial discussion, proposal, site inspection and city plan check were completed in 3 weeks. 1.5 days to install and we waited two weeks for City Final Inspection. PG&E Permission To Operate was granted 2 weeks after City Final inspection. There are not many companies that offer this level of service with abundant communication and integrity. There is no greater value than working with AHS.

The PV install looks amazing!

We installed a 10.9 kW system in South San Jose, CA with Meo and the team from Affordable Home Solar . He successfully bid against two other vendors for a SolarEdge 10kW HD Wave inverter and 37 Hanwha Q CELLS Q.PEAKBLKG4.1-295 modules with SolarEdge DC optimizers. Another vendor was a very close second at only $1,000 more but, in the end, I felt that Meo's personal involvement in the project outweighed the longer systems warranty from the other vendors. Meo was patient and communicative throughout the process and answered every one of my questions. He helped me understand the various options and what each vendors solution brought to the table. The best part of the experience for me was being part of the install. I learned how my system works from the lag screws in the joists all the way down to how the inverter connects to my electrical panel. The system has worked flawlessly since August 2018 and generated a whopping 6.78 MWh in 6-months saving me $1,477.81 already with a projected ROI of 6-years.

Looks great. Work like a charm

North San Jose

Unreservedly recommend Clean Solar!…read more Had PV Solar installed when the house was built in 2006. Under our existing rate plan (time-of-use, meaning pay high rates 4-9 pm and low rates the rest of the time), and metering agreement (NEMS 2.0), we were selling more electricity (in $ terms) than we were using. However, we will be forced to switch to the new metering agreement (NEMS 3.0) in late 2026, which drastically cuts how much PG&E pays us for electricity we sell to them--we will end up paying money to PG&E. This motivated me to consider installing a whole-house battery storage system to do "rate shifting"--store the excess electricity generated by our PV system in the morning and early afternoon to power the house during the high rate period (4-9 pm). And of course provides energy in the event of a power outage. I also wanted to take advantage of the energy tax credit before it expires at the end of the year. Reading reviews on Yelp, Google, and other sites, I decided to contact Clean Solar along with 3 other companies. Clean Solar was the first to respond and I had a thorough conversation with a Senior Design Analyst, Art Balaoro. He listened and understood my goals, answered my (many) questions and said he would get back to me with options in a few days. Of the other 3 companies, 2 never responded to my inquiry at all! The other one did, but I had to repeatedly reach out to them to make any progress on getting a quote. In contrast, Art did as he said and responded within a week with several options, primarily around which battery vendor to go with (Tesla vs. Franklin, I preferred the latter) and the battery location. Clean Solar scheduled a technician to come out and look at our house: location and configuration of the main panel, possible battery locations, where the existing PV inverter was, etc. Took a lot of photographs and measurements to verify compliance with building codes. In contrast, the other vendor was sluggish to schedule someone to visit, so I ended up sending them photos and measurements from the Clean Solar visit. Because of the peculiarities of my house's main panel, it was going to be more difficult (and expensive) to install the Franklin battery. And although I would have preferred to put the battery inside my garage, building codes would have required a replacement of the entire smoke alarm system throughout the house, also adding significant expense. Art walked me through these issues thoroughly and so I went with the recommended (and cheaper) option, going with the Powerwall and an outside location. In contrast, the other vendor didn't do as thorough an analysis and wasn't aware of these issues until I pointed them out. When I did get a comparable quote from them (exact same system components), it was slightly more expensive than the Clean Solar quote. I started this process in June, and immediately Art said it was going to be a close thing to finish the project before the end of the year--so many people were wanting to install solar or battery projects and claim the tax credit. Art also walked me through the timeline for the whole process and how it would be managed on their end. Based on the interactions I had with him and others, I felt that Clean Solar was the best choice for my project--and my experience bore that out.

We needed to add panels because we purchase an EV and needed more solar to offset PG&E. The impeccable experience started with Art the consultant, he gave 4 scenarios and explained in detail what each means and provided detail report including all the tech details and break even timing. To be honest, it was too much for me, I really just wanted pricing and how long it takes to install haha but was good to know he has such knowledge and I was confident he is looking out for my best interest. Then we had Patrick the PM, arrived for site inspection on time and courteous and explained the whole process. Then come the impressive installation team Luis, Alberto and Kevin. The 3 arrived on time and with smiles, just overall a great vibe from them. Luis walked me through the installation plan and gave a few choices taking into consideration aesthetics of the house and then got to work. 4 hours later, clean line, fine craftsmanship and symmetrical matching placement from last system is in place and ready to tangle with PG&E (attaching some photos) I really really can't recommend any higher to go with Clean Solar on your solar projects. Seamless is what you'll experience with them. Until next time Clean Solar!

Their team was very responsive and easy to communicate with--any questions I had were answered quickly and clearly, which made me feel confident every step of the way. I also replaced my gas furnace with a heat pump, so our electric needs are significant. A new roof with complete tear off and new plywood is a big project. I started by getting a quote from Solar City but they weren't able to coordinate with a roofer. Their leasing agreement (aka PPA) also had some provisions that seemed pretty predatory. I don't remember if Solar Sesame cold called me or I called them, but I do remember that Marcel did a great job of explaining the process. I'm pretty knowledgeable about these kind of projects so I asked somre very detailed questions. When he wasn't able to answer them immediately, he didn't front, he just said he didn't know and called the office for better info. That's the best response. I was a little concerned that Solar Sesame used an outsourced the roofing to a vendor. But given the time constraints, that was a good decision. Also, the vendor they chose, Arts Roofing, was a joy to work with. They communicated well, and when there was a small problem, they handled it professionally and entirely to my satisfaction. The solar panels went up super fast and well. They system was generating power the as soon as the installers were done. Unfortunately, PGE took their sweet time getting the final inspection done. So PGE got some free kwh from the system. On the good side, we didn't start paying for the system until after PGE did the final turn on, so no problem for us. I monitor the system via the PGE site as well as the Tesla app. Those two systems match up perfectly so I am happy with the amount of power being created and sold back to PGE. Also, we had a short power outage in our neighborhood, and it didn't impact us at all. The only reason I knew about it was that PGE alerted us via text. I looked out my window and noticed that none of my neighbors had their lights on. Between Marcel (sales) and Mei (project management), I'm very happy with the end result and the process on this large residential project.

Sunnova hasn't responded to any inquiries I've had, or helped me even see if my panels are working, for months. So, I basically have an orphan project. I called around to multiple highly ranked solar companies in the area, trying to see if anyone could help, but all of them were either booked out until the end of the year, and/or they didn't take on any projects they themselves didn't install. Rising Sun Electrify was immediately confident when I called them and shared they've taken on multiple orphan projects, so this is not a big deal. They were able to come immediately the next day to check on how my system was set up, then sent me a proposal later that afternoon for how to get my Enphase box commissioned. After I confirmed I was good to go with the proposal, they were able to schedule me in just 2 days later. Truly incredible service, fast, and very competent as well. I am so grateful for Rising Sun Electrify! I'd highly recommend them, *especially* if you have any orphan projects that need help.

When we wanted to put a solar/battery system on our house which we had bought last year in San Rafael, we found out the work was not going to be an easy, cookie-cutter installation. That was because: 1) Our original 100 amp 1955 main electrical panel was maxed out and had to be upgraded to a new, 200 amp panel to add solar. But current code now said our panel couldn't simply be upgraded in place where it was, but now had to be moved to the exterior of the house. The nearest, best (for the batteries) and least costly place to move the panel & service entry to would be to a spot about 2 feet away from its current location, but just outside, on a narrow wall that would be tricky to get PG&E's approval for. Aside from significantly cutting the rewiring cost of the panel upgrade, keeping the panel there would make it much easier to keep the batteries in the garage instead of having to hang them on the side of the house that catches morning sun. In the garage, the more moderate temperature variations would likely add to the batteries' life compared to being exposed on the house exterior. 2) I had already put in a solar/battery system on our old house over a decade ago. Based on my experience, I wanted to have a great system but I was stunned by the high quotes I got for a system with over 25 kwh battery back-up from local solar installers in Marin. I decided I wanted to move away from the over-priced market leaders like Powerwall and Enphase to install two of the well-reviewed but less common EG4 batteries that cost almost half as much per kilowatt hour of storage. I also wanted use a Sol-Ark 15k inverter, rated as one of the best in the industry. It turned out that most solar companies, somewhat understandably, prefer the cookie-cutter brands because that's what they've been trained on and are familiar with. I found that, in a time when many are scrambling to put in solar while subsidies hold, finding a company willing to not install only cookie-cutter systems was a lot tougher than I imagined. Most literally would not even bid on the 'custom' job. After much looking, we finally found a company, American Array, that contracted for the whole job at a reasonable price at first,. But then we had to cancel with them and get our deposit back after they were so disorganized they made little progress for 2 months aside from getting the PG&E approval for our preferred location. They then also tried to raise the price of our signed contract - something we wouldn't agree to. So, with just 2-3 weeks left until our hard-to-get appointment with PG&E to switch over to our new panel location, we cancelled with American Array and signed an agreement with Kevin and Sun's Free Solar to handle all the electrical on the service and panel move and the inverter and battery installation. Pedro and Ben did a great job on everything they did for us. Step by step they worked through the day-to-day issues that often come up unexpectedly in such installation work; they showed up and gave 100% to the work, communicating well and getting the job done. Kevin and the crew did it all on time and on budget as promised. As I told them, that they did a solid job was reflected in the joke of the the competing East Bay solar company's lead installer that came after them to install the solar panels for us. "Who did this electrical work for you? It's quality work. I'd hire them again!" And so would I. Once the panels were installed and the whole installation got final approval from the city, we still had to wait 3-4 weeks for PG&E to give us "Permission to Operate" before we could sell back electricity to PG&E as a power generator. Since it's summer and we get more than enough sun to run our house, I just flipped off our main breaker connecting us to PG&E and we ran completely 'off grid' for the weeks until we got approval to connect and start making a little money off of PG&E for a change. We're really happy with the system. We use no PG&E power now, in summer, and will use little or none in winter. Our batteries rarely are drawn down over 30% at night and usually were fully recharged by 10:30 the next morning, so we have generation and storage to support adding a heat pump HVAC system. As they say "the sun's free" (at least once you invest the time and money to put in a good system, something Sun's Free Solar helped us do).
