To make matters worse, they said they couldn't turn the system back on and that we might have to wait until Monday for a full system replacement. This all happened on the Wednesday before the Fourth of July, with temperatures well into the triple digits. We have five kids and two dogs, and the thought of going several days without air conditioning was overwhelming. Thankfully, we decided to get a second opinion and called Airtime Cooling & Heating. Jacob came out, started his own evaluation without us telling him what the first company had diagnosed, and quickly impressed us. He simply turned the system back on, ran his own diagnostics, and gave us his honest opinion. His conclusion was completely different--our system did not need to be replaced. Not only did he get our AC running again, but he also took the time to explain what he believed had happened, what to watch for if it occurred again, and even walked us through how to troubleshoot it ourselves. That kind of honesty, education, and customer service is incredibly rare. Instead of facing what could have been a very expensive and unnecessary replacement, we paid for a diagnostic visit, got our AC back, and gained confidence in our system. Because of this experience, we've switched from our previous HVAC company to Airtime Cooling & Heating for all of our future maintenance and service. If Jacob is any indication of the quality of their technicians, they have earned a customer for life. Jacob was truly a 10 out of 10. The guy on the phone initially told me that the earliest appointment would be the next day, but he was able to find Jacob who was in the area and would be able to stop by in 1-2 hours. Jacob arrived and diagnosed the problem pretty quickly. He explained what was wrong (capacitor needed replacement) and then explained how he was going to fix it. He was very patient, made sure everything was up and running and made sure all our questions were answered before he left. Thank you to Jacob and Airtime for saving us from the heat!

The previous contractor found some Freon oil near the compressor and told my son he needed a whole new unit. Turns out it was from a previous repair and the unit had a full charge of freon which indicated it was not low on Freon due to a leak. The service call was $80 instead of a new unit. If you want an honest opinion call Johnny's!

Guy was on time, so kudos for that. But he greeted me with a very clammy/weak handshake. Sure, that's not a perfect measure of how a company performs, but it's so often accurate. We had prefaced this quote request by specifying to the office that we didn't want the highest end units as we were going to only be in the house for 3-5 more years. So, of course, he sees our large house and started pushing the highest end units they had. His responses to my questions were dismissive and haughty - obnoxiously arrogant for someone who made a few mistakes I caught during his presentation - and just found one in his quote. Pricing was the highest of all the vendors we received quotes from, and that's even with him erroneously reducing our 2.5T unit to a 2T unit. Also, their service & labor warranty is the shortest of the vendors at 2 years. Standard seems to be three.

We had expected it since the existing system was nearly 20 yrs old and an outdated R22 system. Brett was prompt on getting out there, very straightforward on what the problem was, a condenser failure, and what my options were for replacement. He came back with his recommendations on what system we should go with and was very clear as to why he was recommending it, which helped me to understand his train of thought and whether that met my needs. He and his team were also very quick to replace the unit and accommodating with the daughter, who's currently living at the house. I don't hope to have any HVAC issues in the near future, but I know who I'll call when I do.

I wasn't gonna leave a review but decided to tell my story to help the next person out. I took my…read moretruck to get an alignment and wheel balancing. The balancing didn't go well, as the truck still hopped a little around 80mph, so I took it back. They realigned it and it made a difference, so I was ok. A few days later, I looked at a wheel and a center cap was missing a bolt. 3 other center caps were cracked to where the bolts didn't secure the caps anymore. I just sat there like, "...now, why wouldn't they tell me this?" Point: plastic center caps crack ALL the time! It's not a big deal. The manufacturers are the problem, being cheap and not wanting to reinforce the caps...as if they want to make money selling us new center caps all the time. I have 6 cars, and two have plastic center caps. You must gently put them on, or they crack if you over-tighten, even slightly. The person at Discount didn't know this, so when they cracked three of my caps, they tried to conceal it by not telling me (and just making the bolt look like it was on correctly). I was NOT UPSET at the cracked cap. Get that out the way, first. I ordered two new caps and had a spare cap in my garage from my spare tire. They aren't expensive at all. Just $35 each, so I bought two new ones online. The next day, I went to Discount - not to get reimbursed - but to show/tell the manager (Tyler, I believe) about the plastic center caps being broken. I wasn't upset about it breaking, but more upset about the tech not telling me it was broken. THINGS BREAK and I get it: plastic is cheap and the manufacturers are wrong for doing our wheels like this. I told him I already bought new ones, but if he could just run it by the guys to BE CAREFUL with plastic center caps, as many have no reinforcment and they will snap/crack. He understood. He felt bad. I wasn't looking for reimbursement, but he asked me how much I paid and reimbursed me! I was not expecting that because I work on cars and I know how plastic will snap. Again, I own 6 cars and I do 99% of the work myself. I'm ok with things breaking, but not ok with concealing the fact that it was broken. Tyler understood and apologized and paid me for the two caps I bought. To me, that was more than I expected and truly genuine for him to offer and to do that for me. In my opinion, the manufacturers need to reimburse us all because cheap is cheap. They need to make center caps with reinforced holes or they need to make them in aluminum. The person that broke mine clearly didn't realize this about plastic center caps and it was not intentional at all. But the concealment of the damage was intentional and that's what upset me. Breaking it? Nah. I was ok with that. It happens. The fact that Tyler made it a point to resolve it AND to have a talk with the techs made the bigger difference. Not all customers would have been so understanding about a broke piece of plastic, but owning multiple cars, I get it. I appreciate Tyle and I appreciate Discount for taking the time to listen and to train the techs to save people the headaches of small mishaps. Things happen, and that's just how life is. That's why replacement parts are sold: because things happen. But we just have to teach our young men to accept responsibility and not hide it. I'm old. Tyler (the manager) is about 10 to 15yrs younger than me. His techs are probably 10 to 15yrs younger than HIM, so we need to pass these lessons down from generation to generation. Tyler understand why I was there: it wasn't for the money, but I appreciate him reiumbursing me. I just needed him to be the leader of the shop and help his guys become more honest mechanics in this world. I'm a mechanic, myself.

So, I was getting a new dryer and decided it would be a good time to clean out my dryer lint vent…read more I ordered a kit with a round brush and some flexible rods that you attach to a drill and feed through the vent to clean out the lint. Sounds simple enough, right? So the flexible rods that screw together unfortunately separate while I'm using the drill and the brush and several of the rods are stuck inside the duct. I watch a YouTube video explaining how to remove it (it apparently happens frequently) by buying additional rods and attaching a "corkscrew" made from a wire hanger which you feed into the duct by hand to hopefully "grab" onto the brush and pull it out. You guessed it, that got stuck too. I called King Air Duct Cleaning and Lance (the owner) assured me that he understood the issue and he would be able to squeeze me in so I could start using my new dryer. Lance was here this morning and he was amazing. Within 20 minutes he had both of the pieces removed from the duct and all of the built-up lint cleared. Then he hooked up my new dryer, tested the airflow and assured me everything was good to go! And the cost was about 1/3 of what I thought it would be! Highly recommended!!!

I have used AHR for almost 3 years (we moved to the Phoenix area about 3 years ago). During that time, AHR has provided outstanding service; their technicians are always on time and always call on the day of service to give me a more exact arrival time. I have found all the techs to be professional, competent and never pushy when it comes to recommending additional service (the AC system on the home that I purchased was about 7 years old when it started having problems about a year after we moved in; the unit was not a top-quality brand and had not been properly serviced by the previous owner; the neighbor next to me had problems with his system about a year before we did). After AHR recommended over the period of about a year a few low cost attempts to extend the life of the system, AHR and I decided to replace the unit two weeks ago. Mike Jagoda was very patient and helpful as I asked a number of questions about options we had to repair and replace the system. Mike laid out the facts as he saw them and was never pushy in any particular direction. Mike is also very good at explaining, when I asked, why some add-on options that other service companies recommend may not be a worthwhile investment. I have been so impressed with AHR's service that I have very recently asked AHR to start servicing a second property that I own and to give me a quote on repairing or replacing a AC/heating system at a church where I am a Board Director and the Treasurer. read more

We have used AHR Mechanical for 5 or 6 years now. It all started with meeting Michael at a job site for my daughter in law installing 2 new AC systems. It was a three day project and I stayed through the installation in order to help while they worked. I saw him looking for things on the ground and asked what he was looking for. He had a deal going with himself and his techs if the client finds a screw after installation he buys dinner. I was impressed and I noted what I felt was incredible integrity. Here was the boss doing what he expected from the techs. By the way his people loved that he worked on the systems and did what they did. They respected him. Oh, one more thing. There was a lot of dust on the furniture nearby the attic access. When I was looking over the job I noticed he had dusted that nearby furniture. WOW. Anyway, my long time AC guy was retiring and I hired AHR for my house. By the way in the last five years that has included replacing one of my own systems. Very pleased with that work as well. The bad news is he will likely get more of my business as the other unit will probably need replacing one of these days. Bad news for me due to having to spend the money but good that Michael and AHR is around to do it. One more thing that impressed me. Michael is local. He is running the business his dad started. After going through 9 days of pure hell with my home warranty company trying to get a reputable HVAC company to fix my A/C in 115 degree weather, I finally had to go out on my own and find someone that could successfully do the job. A colleague recommended AHR and strongly encouraged me to call them. Even though they were out of my warranty company's network, out of desperation I placed the call. Chris, with AHR, arrived at my home within four hours of the initial call (which itself was nothing short of miraculous) and he was the definition of pure joy. His professionalism, knowledge, and calm demeanor lowered the temperature not only of my home, but of my stress level as well! An hour after Chris' arrival, he had the system up and running, had straight-forward conversations with me about the future issues my units could have, and a multitude of options available to me going forward. This company gets our highest recommendation - when we first moved here to AZ 7 years ago - AHR was recommended to us. We liked that it was a family run business and their technicians didn't get a commission. The technician was extremely friendly and patient with the questions we had for him. The first time they came and gave us an initial check-up it was great to hear that everything was working fine. The next day, our neighbor was also having a fall check-up by another company. Their technician came over and said they would give us a free check-up since we were new to the neighborhood. After he looked everything over, he told us numerous issues that were needed and would end up costing more than $200 to fix the issues. I asked if he received a commission and he admitted that he did but it wasn't very much. Fortunately for us, this other company's technician was wrong since we didn't end up having any of the issues he told us was needed. I had a spring checkup and was told all was well. That night the air conditioner kept running and the temperature never dropped. I called and the technician that checked the day before said that I need a new compressor (which didn't pay to get on an older unit). So I should replace the whole thing. I decided to get a second opinion. They told me there was NOTHING wrong with my unit and the reason the temperature wasn't dropping was because they tripped the circuit breaker. Before I wrote this review I made sure it would continue to work properly. It's a few weeks later and I have had no problems. AHR also gave me a list of items when they originally checked the units that might need replacing some time in the near future, The second company said there were a few items on the list that I don't even have and one item I was told was missing that wasn't. I have been a client of AHR Mechanical since 2012. My air conditioning was not cooling Sunday so I placed a call to AHR and left a message. Within less than an hour Christopher arrived and diagnosed the problem as leaking refrigerant and needing the coil replaced. He charged the unit restoring cool air and said they would return early next week to replace the part. I received a call Monday advising they had the part and we scheduled an appointment for early Tuesday morning. He suggested I might want to consider having a "smart thermostat" installed. Mike arrived on time, replaced the coil and installed a new thermostat. Special kudos to Mike for the thorough explanations to all my questions. We have been with AHR Mechanical for 19 years (2000)! They have installed our air conditioning units in both of our homes and given us quick and professional service on these units. We recently came home from a trip to no air during 108 degrees, AHR was at our home within an hour, and had our air going within an hour. The tech discovered pack rats had chewed the coils on one of our units and they not only fixed the problem but installed mesh so the rodents can't get to the wires anymore. We needed to have our HVAC units serviced and called AHR Mechanical Services at the recommendation of a friend. The morning the technician, Eric, was to arrive one of our units stopped working. Though the timing seemed perfect we were needing to ask Eric to do more than he was expecting to do. Eric arrived and immediately accessed the situation and got us up and running and completed the full servicing of both units. The guys at AHR installed our new AC unit the day after our 18 year old unit decided to croak. They came early the next morning and had everything installed and up and running in a few hours. They also gave us a through walkthrough on how to use the new control unit as it was more like an i-pad compared to the classic knob we had before. The guys have been over since then to do biannual check ups on our unit and to clean our dryer vent. Their technician Chris has been over the last few times to perform these tasks and has always been extremely polite, professional and prompt with his arrival times. I had the pleasure of working with AHR Mechanical Services for two installation projects recently (personal home and place of business). We've used AHR for several years. Last year we had our AC (2 units) replaced. They were about 12 years old. One just died but we decided to replace both. The team was wonderful, respectful, friendly and efficient. Today Justin came to check our system for winter. All is good. He suggested that we get a regulator (my term) when the AC is checked in the Spring. We agreed. Justin was great, was careful while inside the house, changed our filters and explained everything. I signed up for the SRP $65.95 summer air conditioning inspection special and Randy from AHR Mechanical came out to do it. He was super! He let me accompany him to the roof and patiently answered my many questions as he went thru each step of the comprehensive inspection process. He told me what needed to be replaced and when (eg. the capacitor is weak but should last a year.") and didn't pressure me at all to buy a new one from him. Worst time of year for AC to go out, AHR Mechanical responded very quickly and found the issues. Due to the age of our unit and the cost to repair, we purchased the entire AC/Furnace unit. Price was fair (August in AZ) and the entire job was done correctly and within one day!! I can't thank Butch and Josh enough for how well they worked in such a hot environment. I bought a home in Scottsdale 2 1/2 years ago, and the home inspection mentioned that the air conditioner had not been installed correctly--what an understatement. Contacted Michael when I realized we needed a new heat pump. He took time to listen to my specific situation and provided information that was very helpful. Asked for and received a proposal that fit my needs. Two young men arrived and around 7 hours later the new heat pump was installed. They took time to walk me through all the information given me. I don't think I've ever had such an amazing experience with A/C services!! Omar was extremely helpful and patient especially out in 105+ degrees in the hot sun! He knew what he was doing and was 100% genuine. I was also able to meet the owner, Mike, and he was just as helpful! He, Omar, and a few others worked to fix my A/C as fast as they could. I have been with AHR for years and they provide consistent great service. I have their cactus club plan and since I started that I've never had the a/c break down at an inopportune time.
