I'd say the service was pretty slow and it might be because it's a busy Sunday but it was odd to wait to long just for a iced tea and margarita which ended up coming out about 15 minutes after our food. Onto the food, this was the only gluten free Option they had which was the hash, it needs a bit more seasoning to Make it pop. I love the vibe and the hustle and bustle of this little local's spot. The hamburger and shakshuka are my favorites as well as the Italian wine selection. Stella, the cutie with the dimple is always so sweet and welcoming. It's always nice to be greeted by name at our neighborhood go to. I definitely recommend putting Abha into your weekly rotation. I went into this restaurant with the best hope given all the recommendations however it is a one star for me. I placed an order for an appetizer (whipped feta), chicken sandwich, and a Cobb salad. The chicken sandwich came out first which isn't a problem except the appetizer came out 15 minutes later and the salad was completely forgotten. I asked for the salad after 30 minutes of waiting which by then the chicken sandwich was cold. Then got the salad and had to wait for avocado a few minutes after that. The place wasn't busy enough to warrant the poor service and I wasn't going to say anything until the very end where I waited to even get a box and bag. Someone had finally asked if I needed help and I asked for a box and bag as he was told to throw away the trash to my surprise of him just tossing the box and bag back instead of handing it to me. An Ahhhh ambience experience Drinks: first of all the iced cold brew was smoothly delectable without being burnt or overstimulating my nerves. Coffee had a fresh clean taste and the oat milk from the handoff counter added a nice creamy touch to the drink. Would 10/10 get the cold brew again as well with the freshly squeezed orange juice. Def approved of the natural vitamin C and not masked with additional water or sugar Food: let's start with the hashbrowns side. I loved the crispy texture on the outside and edges but it was overly oily. We tilted the plate and had a collection of hopefully olive oil. The middle part was more undercooked compared to the edges (stove temp was too high) which I wished for a more uniform crispiness. But I do have to say that ketchup was a hit combo and I usually don't do ketchup. Now, the shakshouka was simple and yummy. I'm a carb girly so that bread dipped in the "spicy" tomato sauce was my fav. I wished for more flavorsome sauce (I wanted more spices) tho but I do have a high spice tolerance; thus, please do try it. The AhbA burger - those rosemary fries with their special aioli dip *chef's kiss* Burger was not greasy and perfect pickles & cheese combo Service: every single employee was so jolly, smiley and welcoming. The tables were swiftly cleaned once someone left clearing space. Counters and coffee bar were cleaned. Food came out in a reasonable manner. Overall great service Environment: this is where AhbA shines with their scenic ambience. The seating arrangements make you feel as if you have a 3 in 1 experience. The alley area feels like a small Mediterranean villa, the inside gives a more barn cozy feels and the out front patio is so Californian beach ambience. love that you can order from a window and chose your own seating; who doesn't love customer seating autonomy. I discovered this little gem on instagram. The food looked so fresh and delicious, lots of veggies, herbs loaded into their dishes. I couldn't wait to try this place out, had no idea they've been in business for so many years and I just discovered! Food: I ordered their carrots, Japanese sweet potatoes, and their cara orange salad. I love that they have so many veggie options but do wish they had a main dish that was catered towards a vegan/vegetarian lifestyle. Their carrots and sweet potatoes were the highlight of my dishes, the sweet potatoes were super flavorful and filling. Their Cara orange salad I wanted some arugula with it to add a spice/bite and feel more like a salad. It was just oranges, sparse dish for the price you pay and I wouldn't order again (although still very tasty). My husband ordered their burger and devoured it within seconds, said it was delicious and my friend ordered their Caesar salad with chicken. She said salad was a little dry but chicken was very juicy/tender. Service: Cannot express the kindness from one of the waiters/food runners we received. Treated like family right away, his presence felt like some of my Italian family relatives. We didn't receive this from everyone, they were incredibly busy but I just wanted to bring attention to this gentleman who had stopped by to greet us (thank you!). Ambiance: Fast casual dining with a sophisticated and elegant feel. They have a speakeasy you can eat their food in and I would recommend if you wanted something warmer, quieter and more intimate. Wow, this place has a real good thing going here. My friends in the area had been hyping it up and finally made the trek and it was fantastic. The vibe is super cool, homey vibe with everyone having a nice time. It has a chill setup where you order at the counter then pick your seats with your given table number. Best table IMO is the chefs table/counter with 5-6 seats or so you can see all the action with the cool open kitchen setup. Staff were all friendly with great chemistry working together. Food: Caesar salad was delicious, perfect size for 1-2 people, Brussel sprouts were good, prefer them on the medium doneness they were a bit undercooked/firm side for my liking but still nice, the presentation with the dish was beautiful (friendly feedback, slightly more charr added for more flavors to shine). Lastly the pan seared filet mignon came out to a perfect medium rare with just the right amount of charr, they ran out of garlic herb butter which was fine that way the steak could be the complete star. Chef Sam apologized and asked if touch of butter on top as a replacement. Kitchen felt very organized with great flow. Food items come out when ready=fresh and ready for consumption and great for choosing family style enjoyment if you chose that path. Def using quality ingredients for their dishes you can feel good about, no compromising. Look forward to going again and exploring more of their dishes. OC needs more places like this, if your coming from outside the area go head down to south Laguna for sunset then head down to Ahba to complete the evening. Great service! The man who took our order was extremely polite and made really great suggestions. AhbA is known for their burger, so of course I ordered one. Wow, wow, wow! The meat melts in your mouth and it doesn't have that usual after taste that beef burgers have. I loved the other things they added to it to give it a little Mediterranean twist - like the pickled peppers (at least that's what I think it was)! It came with a side of fries that were perfectly crispy and seasoned. We also tried the lamb pita. I'm not huge on lamb but haven't seen many places offering pulled lamb. It was so flavorful and different than any other pita sandwich I've tried. The way the lamb was marinated and cooked itself was very tasty... the sandwich just brought everything together nicely. Absolute slay. The bf and I came during Caleb's famed Thursday wine night and it was just perfection. I enjoyed myself so much that I completely forgot to snap some pics of the delicious food and gorgeous restaurant but trust that it was fantastic. From the moody lighting to the rustic farmhouse style interior, every bit was just stellar. We shared the whipped feta app with sourdough (the tomato jam complemented it just perfectly), got the spicy chicken sammies (actuallyyy spicy so if your tolerance is low I'd have them ease up on the spice. We both really loved it though), and shared a bottle of this really smooth yummy red blend that Caleb recommended. Service was just amazing - super friendly and accomodating and made us feel right at home. As if that wasn't enough, we ended our night at the delightful Helen's speakeasy next door. I didn't want to write a bad review after loving Ahba so much over the last few years. I've only ever had good experiences at this location but today was not one of those days. I ordered my food and inquired about service at Helen's next door to which the cashier confirmed they would be able to bring our food over. Mind you we were there around 5pm on a Friday with 3-4 tables being full. We headed over and ordered drinks at Helen's and proceeded to settle in and wait for our food. I finished my drink and about 30 mins had passed by so I went to the bartender to confirm we would be able to get our food served at Helen's as confirmed when we ordered. She was polite and went to check in on our order. Note another 10 minutes goes by and we were not updated. We decided to head back over to Ahba and sat inside with our number and let a server know we were still waiting for our food. The restaurant was busier than when we had placed our order 30 mins prior and everyone sitting down that had come after us had their food. We were then brought a to go bag 10 mins later, when I questioned why it was in a to go bag they stated they weren't sure but it was entered into the system that way. They offered us plates to transfer our to go packaged food onto. The burgers and fries were cold when we transferred them onto the plates they had given us. We lost our appetite quickly after noticing our food probably sat in a to go bag the whole time. After silently staring at our cold food we had to transfer from a to go box onto a plate we took a few bites and couldn't enjoy our meal after the lack of accountability. A server then came up to us and tried to diffuse the situation by starting off with "I'm not sure what happened with all of this (referring to our table of empty to go boxes and plates of food) but here's a $25 gift card for your patience" and walks away. Mind you at this point communicating that our order was entered in correctly and making a new fresh meal would have been a better approach. The bartender then brought us 2 comp drinks to try to diffuse the situation further, it wasn't her fault directly but at this point we were made to feel uncomfortable with the over compensation for a simple mistake. All in all the lack of communication and accountability to acknowledge a simple mistake which could have been easily corrected would have been more than enough. Having a gift card and drinks dropped off at the table while thanking us for our patience is not the way to go. We left the gift card, drinks, and self plated cold to go food on our way out. I am very disappointed and hope they can learn to communicate their mistakes. read more

Their burger, chicken, sandwich, and half chicken are a highlight for me! The only thing that's making me give one less star is the service, I truly feel that no matter how good the food is, the service can make or break a place. This part of my review makes me feel like a Karen but my friends and I visited yesterday and a few of the guys working were really nice and accommodating but two other employees were so rude. We asked a blonde girl for silverware and felt like we were bothering her and when saying thank for bringing the silverware she seemed annoyed. Another employee seemed annoyed when I asked her to switch one of my items to Togo instead of for there. Being polite or just nice is a basic necessity in customer service. read more

Super basic (frozen patties???) - not nearly as good as in-n-out. Definitely not a premium burger. And the fries were lukewarm, almost cold. Epic fail! The seating isn't great either. Fun place to get a celebratory dinner with friends! We shared several appetizers (the Japanese sweet potatoes, whipped feta, and peaches with burrata) and one main course (the half chicken). All the food was great! The whipped feta was probably my favorite and came with crispy bread drizzled with olive oil, and the sweet potatoes were a close second. All was very flavorful and unique! The peaches weren't super ripe, so that made the burrata dish slightly less good. The half chicken came with crispy skin and crispy roasted potatoes! It wasn't spectacularly unique, but it was still quite tasty and tender. Our servers weren't the most attentive. After finishing our first order, which came within ten minutes, we ordered another side to share. I kept my eye on some tables as we waited. I ordered the little gemmy salad (so light and delicious) and an aperol spritz. My friend ordered a chicken Cesar and we shared the whipped feta. The whipped feta was almost life changing!! So tasty! I swear I'll have dreams about it until I go back for dinner! Perfect little dinner. Very dog friendly and they played the best music all night. Burger is delicious ... but.... The bun bottom was soggy. For sure this is a moist burger and very delicious. Great Cesar salad with crispy romaine and crunch topping. Also loved the fries. First time to a restaurant where you order alcohol and have to pick up yourself. There is no table service besides bringing food order to you. If you want another glass of wine or beer you need to get up. I guess this is more like a bar with no table service. However this doesn't distract. Was just curious to me. Will be back! read more

This is going to be a bad review. Just left this location a bit ago. The food I ate was good, but I was disgusted by what I saw. I finished my meal as it came out first before I saw what happened or I wouldn't have finished eating. This location has an open style kitchen so we could easily see the food prep. The girl prepping the orders to leave the kitchen didn't have her hair up. I saw her mess/play with her hair, phone and face several times and then immediately go back to touching the food. We also saw them mess up my friends order and take off the items that shouldn't have been on our food item before sending it out. Thankfully my friend isn't allergic to anything, but the food should have been re-fired. We saw several of the food-prep people looking at phones and touching hair before touching the food. So I planned to go talk to the manager about this issue before posting here. I asked who the manager was and they pointed me to one of the gals who we saw doing these things. I realized this was a restaurant problem that wouldn't be addressed by speaking to the manager. read more
