I have never given a restaurant one star on Yelp. This is a no brainer though. They just don't care. 1. The restaurant is FILTHY! The reason that it is dimly lit is to hide the dirt. The walls are covered in oils and sauces. The tables and chairs are dirty. 2. All the food is frozen and microwaved. There is nothing fresh... even the vegetables were frozen. 3. The service was slow when they were actually around. The place was not even busy. 4. With so many great Italian restaurants in the area, how this place is in business is beyond me! This place is as bad as many of the restaurants are on kitchen nightmares. But even Gordon Ramsey couldn't help this place. read more

My friends and I went to this horrible place on Saturday night. 4-20-2013. I have never posted anything on Yelp, until today. We had a party of nine, and waited about an hour for a table. When we were waiting for our table, it took the servers about 15 mins to clean up the tables that were just vacated by patrons. We asked the staff if someone was going to clean up tables, and the server was rude to our friends. We were seated with no menus, and we finally got up and got our own. We were asked if we wanted drinks, and had to beg for water. We finally were asked if we would like to order dinner, and the wait was so slow.... about a half an hour/40 mins for our dinners to be served.. Two friends went to complain, and the party of six behind us that was seated after us, got their food before us. We were fuming!!!!! Finally.. dinner arrived, and The portions were huge, but I was afraid to eat my food, thinking they either spit in it, or put something in the food. The staff wasn't interested in making this a wonderful dining experience, but instead we were ignored, and felt like we were bothering them. I think the Manager should have checked with the table after 2 people complained from our table, to see if we needed anything, and he didn't bother at all! Food was nothing special. Bottom line. Great food and better desserts. Excellent service. My only question is how can you be out of steaks at 6:30p.m.? Quiet and dimly lit. Probably a good place for a date or night out with your spouse. A generally older clientele, but excellent for anyone. read more

Went to Agostino's Saturday night 4 people for dinner, got seated right away, waitress took orders for drinks, came back for dinner orders, my wife asked if she could have soup instead of salad,no problem,when the food was brought to table 3 of the 4 orders were wrong, they finally brought parts of the missing orders except for a fish order that was swordfish was brought out as they were cleaning the table. Bill was brought no adjustments were made to the bill inspite of the mistakes in the orders, asked for manager told him what transpired, said that they made good on the food, offered deserts, gave us a $20. Everything here was just barely okay. My date got there earlier than I did (he was in the Navy - if you're on time you're late) and they seated him originally near the kitchen in the regular dining room. When I was running a few minutes late he decided to wait outside as the weather was AWESOME! When we came back in, they offered him the same booth and he asked if we could sit somewhere else (we really didn't explain the noise situation but the restaurant was pretty empty so I'm not sure why they would have needed to seat him there) they said we could sit anywhere we wanted then. The dining room is very unimpressive, it is dated and has kind of a diner feel - not a sit down, have dinner, a drink, laugh and talk feel. We went into the next room and picked a seat in the lounge, there is a beautiful bar in there and it seems like it had been redone recently and there were also tables in there so we chose to eat in there. The atmosphere is maybe a little nicer in there but definitely not great looking. We waited almost 10 minutes before anyone came over even to offer us a drink (as the "waitress" was also the only bar tender on the bar). When she did come over, I ordered my drink and she asked me for my ID, it couldnt have taken more than 15 seconds for me to get it out and she left our table to go talk to another table instead of just waiting - we waited a couple minutes for her to then come back and she did and checked my ID (the kind of check where you know they feel obligated but they definitely couldn't tell you whether or not you are of legal drinking age because they barely look) then off she went and made our drinks. When we got our menus they were okay looking EXCEPT for the laminated specials sheet where 2 of the 4 specials had been crossed out in pen (prior to the laminating of the sheets obviously as it was very much part of the sheet - it wasnt just something that needed to be 86d for the night!) My date ordered a teriyaki salmon which he said he loved. . . (I'm not positive whether he would tell me otherwise as it was a first date.... you don't really want to be a complainer on date #1). I ordered a baked stuffed haddock - it was OKAY. The baked stuffed haddock was fine but they are usually stuffed underneath so that you eat the haddock first and pick up stuffing as you wanted it. . . .but not here. They mounded it on to the top of the haddock and it was truly just okay. When we were close to finish eating, the "waitress" - again this is the bartender (who worked hard by the way). Came over and take our plates and gave us the check (without asking - we didn't even have the option of dessert or another drink) - I definitely would have gotten another drink or a water or my date would have gotten some more juice (which had been empty for the better part of the meal anyways as she never came back to check on us!!) This was a disappointment in terms of the restaurant but the date was awesome. I will not come here again as I felt like there was no regard for customer service. . . . disappointing read more

Our go-tos are baked stuffed shells for me and baked ziti for my husband. Huge portions, enough for 2 dinners each. Each comes with a house salad. The table bread is amazing. Not sure if they bake it in-house or get it delivered, but its perfect. The decor leaves a lot to be desired (it really looks more like a breakfast place or a diner than an italian restaurant) but i'm not there for the decor. Staff is friendly. Once we were sitting in a booth near the service station and witness a waitress picking cucumbers out of a side salad with her bare hands (that she had just been using to touch a billion other things around the service station). So there's that...but maybe as well as you dont ask for a custom side salad, you're ok? lol read more

I love this place. It is my favorite traditional Italian restaurant in Metrowest. Much better than La Cantina, The Villa, Bella Costa or any of the chains. Family run and just great food. I have been going here for at least ten years and have never had a bad meal or experience. I generally stick to the chicken parm and love it. The portions are so large I can usually squeeze a good size doggy bag for work the next day. My wife usually gets the stuffed haddock and seems to always enjoy that as well. I've been goin to this place since I was a baby, my family and friends work there and the food is great. Nothing is frozen or canned, everything is made fresh, I've witnessed it all with my own eyes! It's a small quaint place so if you walk in with a party of 6 or more on a busy night, it will take some time to accommodate you. The food is great, service is great, the servings are huge and the prices are fair. The employees there are legit all family and close friends, so if you enter with an attitude, your experience may not be all you hoped for. You get what you give!! Sadly this Natick staple has seen my last order. The portions have shrunk while the prices have risen. Typical nowadays I'll admit, but 2 entrees and one app for $45, without beverages is ridiculous. My boyfriend and I went here on a saturday night bc we had been given a gift certificate. I would never go back. First, they sat us at an awful table right in front of the waiter/waitress station. They were constantly walking by and spilling stuff on the floor infront of us. We order a raviloi appetizer that only came with 4 raviolis that looked and tasted like they were store bought. And the sauce seemed like it can from a jar. I ordered a dish from the chicken section which said that they all came with a side of potato, veggie, or pasta. When I said that I wanted the veggies the waitress told me that it didnt apply to my dish bc it already has broccoli in it.....??? When the dish came i was very disappointed. The wine and garlic sauce had little to no flavor and the chicken was dry and had pieces of fat etc that should have been trimmed off before cooking. My boyfriends meal was supposed to come with a salad which he ordered, but at the end of the night we realized we had forgotten about it and the waitress never brought it over. In all, it was a very disappointing experience. If i were you Id skip this place. read more

Was hoping to find a good restaurant in downtown Natick. Was very disappointed by Agostino's. I ordered the lasagna, which one would think should be a solid choice for an italian restaurant. The sauce tasted like a low end sauce from a can, almost like the sauce in spaghettios. I did not finish my meal. It seemed like they were working on the ambiance(which was clearly dated in the dining room) by updating the bar area to be more modern, unfortunately it does not seem like they updated the menu in the process. read more

I love the food here. I have only ordered twice here and I got almost the exact same thing. I ordered the eggplant Parmigiana with spaghetti. Once I ordered garlic bread. I love garlic bread and normally I do not like bread at all. I love eating eggplants! They did an amazing job on the eggplants. I am not a cheese lover but I did eat the Parmigiana cheese. The second time I came here I told the server I wanted eggplant Parmigiana but without the Parmigiana. I know that sounds stupid. Either I did not speak clearly or she did not understand me/ thought I changed my mind. She thought I said I did not want eggplant Parmigiana. So when the other people got their food, I was confused why I just got spaghetti. I told the server I wanted eggplant Parmigiana without the Parmigiana again. I did get the breaded eggplant in the end. I think I did not speak clearly when ordering. The eggplant Parmigiana was about $11.99 with spaghetti. To me it is kind of expensive. My family barely goes out to eat. I would visit this place again. I am giving it a 5 because I love the way they cook and bread the eggplant. read more

Make sure you have a gallon of water on hand with your meal. Unless you like your food SUPER salty I dont recommend it. The calamari was like rubber, it litterally snapped when I took a bite and from then on I was completely turned off. Our pasta was over cooked aswell. Good things: all the staff (hostess, bartender, waitress) were super nice and attentive, despite the busy Saturday night crowd. Very little wait time for a table. The italian bread was delicious, as was the sauce with the meals. Very affordable. The food was just ok, and the portions were way too large. I'm always hesitant to go back to a restaurant that seems to substitute excellent food quality with extra large portions. Also, the decor and table setting could have been a little nicer. The sauce is delicious, and the chicken is moist with a nice crisp crust. The restaurant tends to bring an older crowd, as it presents traditional food that it comfortable. The first time I went to Agostino's was for dinner, and this time returned there for lunch. I had a shrimp scampi plate, which was prepared in a simple way, but was cooked right and delicious. Their shrimp scampi does not come with any cheese, and, in my view, that's pretty authentic. And this is one of the few places, surprisingly, where a noodle pasta dish is served with a spoon as well as a fork. The overall level of service is decent, too. I will definitely return. read more

This has to be by far the worst Italian meal I've ever had. We had to eat in the lounge and it was Sunday. Order toasted ravioli as an app, they came soaked in their signature bolognase sauce. The sauce was thick, heavy, and burnt like it sat for a week. Next came the meals, my chicken broccoli alfredo was disgusting. It had a burnt plastic flavor and I contemplated eating it until my fiancée had he same flavor. He surmised it was from the broiler to melt the cheese. It was like eating a smoked meat. The portions were two giant pieces of chicken slabs over which they placed the pasta. My fiancée had their impression of veal saltimbocca. It was a giant leathery piece of mystery meat over noodles that were supposed to be spaghetti. The sauce was watery. The last time we ate at Agostino's was over ten years ago and my wife and I weren't impressed then and our recent visit did nothing to change our minds. My son told me that all of his friends thought this restaurant was excellent and he wanted to go there to try it. We resisted at first because of our last experience but hey maybe the place has improved and why not give it a try. We stopped by on a Tuesday night; there were plenty tables and we were seated immediately. The table was dirty, the water glasses were old plastic glasses from the 1970s and the menus were filthy. Not a good start. We ordered and talked for a few minutes while watching the waitresses sitting down in the various booths talking to what had to be regulars. I'm not in the restaurant business but I know that the staff, other than maybe the owner should never sit with the guests. I ordered the Chicken Marsala, my son ordered ravioli with meatballs and my wife ordered the linguini and clam sauce special. In a few minutes we had our food and within minutes after that we realized that this place has not changed and the food was BAD. My son's ravioli was OK but the meatballs tasted like they were reheated. The red sauce was so sweet he couldn't eat it. My chicken was over cooked and rubbery with some kind of brown sauce that tasted nothing like the slightly sweet fresh marsala sauce I've had elsewhere. But the topper of the evening was my wife's clam and pasta dish. This so called special was a combination of minced canned soggy clams, limp pasta and uncooked garlic chunks. She took one bite and refused to eat anymore and was so sickened by the taste that she could not eat anything else. I looked for our waitress but of course she was sitting at a table talking to some guessed with her back to our table and only came to aid when I summoned the hostess.
