The Bolognese sauce was thick and flavorful, with plenty of meat, but too salty. The pasta was worse. By the time it arrived, the melted cheese on top had glued the pappardelle together into something resembling lasagna. I had to use a knife just to break it apart. The clam chowder was thin, more broth-like than chowder. They also included garlic bread, but it arrived cold and chewy. The portions were good, but I wouldn't order either dish again.

There is also no need to deliberate where to set your ball down for the initial putt because you must put it in the indicated spot at each station. I loved it! I did eat some food here. That part was just ok- kind of over priced and not the widest variety of options. While it was very clean, including the restrooms, it was pretty cold so bring a jacket! The food was just okay - the Boston tailpipes were a miss for me, the poutine wasn't as hot as it should have been and lacked something, and the chicken & waffles flatbread had jalepenos which wasn't my cup of tea. We played two rounds of 9 hole mini golf on the Ember & Emerald courses. The concept is cool but for the amount it adds to a normal mini golf game, it kinda takes away, too. The technology only allows one person in your party to complete the hole at a time. I love the taking turns aspect of the regular game so that was a bummer. Also, there's something about the colored balls with regular mini golf that I love. The ones here are all white. Some holes felt too easy - everything we did was under 4. I did like parts of the scoring system.

That said, the staff is very efficient and does an excellent job of getting people in and out without making the customers feel rushed (not always an easy thing to do in my opinion!). Don't be deterred by the line because it moves quickly and it is absolutely worth the wait. Eli's is a real hidden gem and great neighborhood spot for locals and those traveling from out of town. The food is DELICIOUS and the portions are huge. Food is fresh and made to order yet still comes out quickly! Staff are very attentive. Our recent orders have included the Truffle Shuffle Omelet, No Name Omelet, Porky Pig Omelet, Hot Mama Omelet and the Island Breakfast. All were incredible. The house made pico is super fresh. We usually ask for the sour cream on the side as opposed to on top of the omelet. My parents said the coffee was really good. Great array of hot sauces to choose from as well. Next time I need to remember to order my hash browns extra crispy (they are good as is but extra crispy is just a personal preference!). There is a great mix of people in the restaurant every time we go. People from all over and from all walks of life (families, elderly patrons, young couples, etc.).

I had high hopes for this place and was unfortunately quite disappointed. My poor experience…read moreactually started before I walked into the restaurant. I was craving a breakfast sandwich and had to get it to-go, and read online that Eli's has some of the best breakfast in Natick so I decided to give it a shot. I called the restaurant twice, waiting 10 minutes between each call, and no answer each time. I shrugged it off and gave them the benefit of the doubt that they're just busy, so I decided to go and order in person. I drove to the restaurant and parking was a complete nightmare. I realize driving and parking in Natick center can be tricky, but this was one of the tightest parking lots I've ever encountered in my life. Somehow I squeezed into a spot and walked in. They have a designated door for takeout only. I walked up to the counter and nobody was there, I made eye contact with two staff members and they didn't say anything which I found strange. Regardless, a few minutes later someone came by, and asked me my name for my order. I let the staff member know I actually didn't place my order yet and asked if I could see a menu. He sighed loudly and handed me a menu. At this point, I completely lost interest, but I was so hungry, on a time crunch, and spent so much effort parking my car in that horrible parking lot that I decided to see it through. $15 and 25 minutes later, I received a bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant (which came with a side of home fries). Fine, but after the hassle, this food needs to win me over. Unfortunately, one bite and I was so disappointed. Dunkin breakfast sandwiches are leagues ahead of Eli's, and that is saying a lot. The croissant was super dry, the egg had no salt/pepper, and the cheese was tasteless. The bacon was carrying the whole sandwich and still nothing. Alright, one last chance to the home fries... and sheer disappointment once again. No seasoning, no crisp on the outside. 2 stars, it was edible.

My husband's burger was perfection -- cooked medium rare, sharp cheddar, and fresh toppings. I can never turn away a good 1/2 and 1/2... I ordered 1/2 chicken salad and 1/2 garden salad. I received the tuna salad instead, which was fine because I like tuna as well, but this tuna salad needed more salt and pepper and less walnuts. Too many walnuts. The green salad was fresh - I loved the house dressing! The ahi tuna nachos were awful. The tuna had zero flavor and we could barely taste a vinaigrette. No acid at all. It wasn't even appealing to look at. The only thing that had flavor was the wasabi crème, which was perfectly flavored. Decorated in Cape Cod, New England style. Ample seating and booths. Beautiful sunny room. First time sitting at the bar, which was the vibe we wanted on our date and super happy we did. Service was great -- the bartender was very attentive but gave us space to chat. We've visited The Cottage many times over the years and this was the first time I wasn't happy with everything. Chalking it up to a bad day and will be back.

A lot of iterations of Cottage have come and gone since we were first introduced to it almost twenty years ago. They still serve passionfruit iced tea that hits with a nice tart and a hint of sweetness from the orange. Their sandwiches are tasty, I had a blackened cod. The slaw was a touch too runny, it absorbed the heat of the sandwich and overwhelmed the poor onion ring. The cod survived the onslaught, though, and was well cooked and seasoned. Avoid the charcuterie. It was a mess that looked like it was sourced from the deli counter at the local grocery store. Service was friendly and prompt. Still a decent reliable spot in Wellesley!

I'd been here twice before and…read morereally enjoyed it, but reservations are hard to come by, so it had been quite a while since my last visit. Unfortunately, this visit didn't live up to my previous experiences. It was an extremely hot evening, with temperatures in the upper 80s, and sadly the restaurant wasn't much cooler inside. We were a party of six and spent most of dinner fanning ourselves with dessert menus. We even asked for cups of ice and were literally holding them against ourselves to cool down! It became almost comical, but no one wants to spend dinner sweating. One bright spot was our server, who was warm, attentive, and very professional. The cocktail list was fairly limited, but the Passion cocktail was delicious--and thankfully served ice cold. As for the food, the cornbread was outstanding, and the tuna tartare was easily the star of the meal. The other women in our group enjoyed their entrees, but mine was a major disappointment. I ordered the fish tacos based on our server's recommendation. The portion was enormous--three tacos, each packed with fish--but the fish itself was incredibly dry and lacked flavor. I even asked for extra aioli, hoping it would help, but the tacos were still nearly inedible. I ate less than half of one taco. What was most disappointing was that no one acknowledged it. When my plate was cleared with almost the entire meal untouched, no one asked if anything was wrong. I didn't want to make a scene during a birthday dinner with friends, but I also don't think I should have had to pay for a meal that was barely edible. Dessert sounded much more exciting than it actually was. The chocolate brownie was dry, the "Cows in Quicksand" dessert looked unappetizing, the cookies were hard, and the champagne mangoes were underripe. We still had a fabulous evening celebrating with friends, but the dining experience itself fell well short of expectations. Between the uncomfortable heat and the disappointing food, this wasn't the memorable return visit I'd been looking forward to. Dining in a sauna simply isn't on most people's list of enjoyable dinner experiences.
