Puttshack was a unique experience for me. I loved not having to write down the score after every hole. No mental tabulation, no cheating, always knowing who is in the lead via large displays at each hole. I also enjoyed the extra layer of gamification like putt through here and get points deducted, answer this trivia question and putt the ball to the corresponding answer and get bonus points. There is also no need to deliberate where to set your ball down for the initial putt because you must put it in the indicated spot at each station. I loved it! I did eat some food here. That part was just ok- kind of over priced and not the widest variety of options. While it was very clean, including the restrooms, it was pretty cold so bring a jacket! We came in on a Tuesday mid-day. There was one person managing the first floor - who was a rockstar. The food was just okay - the Boston tailpipes were a miss for me, the poutine wasn't as hot as it should have been and lacked something, and the chicken & waffles flatbread had jalepenos which wasn't my cup of tea. We played two rounds of 9 hole mini golf on the Ember & Emerald courses. The concept is cool but for the amount it adds to a normal mini golf game, it kinda takes away, too. The technology only allows one person in your party to complete the hole at a time. I love the taking turns aspect of the regular game so that was a bummer. I would say I really like the location of this one because it's bigger than the one in boston. However, if you're going with multiple people, they have to with multiple different reservations, they have to reorganize you, so you can all go together because it will give you two different courses. I enjoyed the course downstairs because it wasn't as crazy and i do kind of feel like some of the courses are repeating of each other which is kind of weird. Especially the ruby and the amber. I love all the different courses and the ways to play, however our ball kept having issues and in search of everyone else's, so they have to keep coming over and fixing it.And it got really, really crowded upstairs. My spicy pineapple margarita was supposed to come with a jalapeño popsicle. It did not nor was it brought to my attention as to why it didn't came with my drink. Came here on a Sunday with a party of 7 for the promotion of $25 unlimited time. I would say it was worth the $25 for the amount of time we stayed as we did all 3 courses during our time. The atmosphere is fun and popping inside with a lot of the lights and fun courses. There is also a bar and food areas on both floors. It was also very easy to check in and sign up for those who were new without a reservation as they have kiosks to assist. Who should think if you are playing18 holes you would have to get back in the long line to continue. They also had groups of 7 playing so the smaller groups were stuck finding a place to stand until they had a chance. Groups should have to be broken up. Many of the holes had ripped up rugs. Took me about a year to come back after the place being out of order but still had to play rather than getting a refund. Could have been a great time if they implemented a few changes. This was the first time playing with the please working. They did not explain a thing to us. Now we went through the line and they said we had to rebook. And we were in line for nothing. I even asked after the first 9 the man working said just get back in line. There is no exit so when you're done you have to squeeze your way out. Why not have an exit down the middle? I'll be honest, my partner and I did not even eat here or play any golf, this review is strictly about the appalling lack of interest of the staff and a blatant disregard for severe health code violations. We walked in on a Sat afternoon, which would be a perfect time to visit for any family you'd expect. The concept of this place needs an explanation to hook a customer, but unfortunately there wasn't a single employee in sight. We had to pull up the website for more info. We walked around, there's an upstairs with a dining area. It was sparse and seemed neglected, again no staff except for a single incredibly bored looking hostess. But this is what the review is for. As we were standing there just looking around we noticed an area sectioned off near the bar. Under the tables there were MULTIPLE RODENTS scurrying around, some with food. When I brought it up to the hostess she just shrugged, entirely unfazed, and said "yeah, we know." There were people eating nearby. We left immediately. Located at Natick mall. It has its own front entrance which is nice. Loved the digital aspect, that was fun. It cost $16 per person to play nine holes. I will say that the actual area to putt is smaller than the kitchen and seating area. Also, you don't get to play both sides. You have to pay separately. They are working on 20 locations across the US and have 4 in the UK. The Boston area has one at the Seaport and one in Natick, which we visited yesterday. Natick has a nice restaurant and (3) nine-hole courses. We were there on Saturday, had a nice lunch (2 adults and 2 kids), and mistakenly thought we could just walk in to play golf. We didn't know that reservations are preferred and since we'd have to wait an hour to tee off, we left, made reservations for Sunday and enjoyed a terrific visit at 1:00. Golf for 2 kids and 1 adult ran $36. How was Saturday's lunch? Surprisingly excellent. We had two kiddie meals of chicken tenders, chips or fries and a drink for a rock bottom $8 each, an OG Burger with fries for $16, a Rendang Beef Lettuce Wrap with a cabbage and lettuce slaw for $16, and a club soda for $2.50. Fifty bucks before tax and tip for a lunch for four in Metro Boston is quite reasonable. Our grandkids demolished their chicken tenders, and that doesn't happen every time. My wife liked her burger, and I really enjoyed the lettuce wraps. The shredded beef was super flavorful and had a bit of a spicy Indonesian kick to it. On Sunday we returned for golf, and the only negative aspect of the outing had nothing to do with Puttshack. It had to do with the snarl of traffic and paucity of parking spots at the Natick Mall. I couldn't find a spot and decided to drop my wife and grandkids off in front to continue my hunt. I finally found one in front of Macy's and joined them on the second hole. I started this post by saying Puttshack has reinvented miniature golf, and here's what I meant. The wizardry starts off with a simple golf ball, but their golf balls are not that simple. In fact, they are linked with your players' names from your online registration. The golfballs amazingly keep track of every stroke, hazard, and point scored. Your party's score is displayed at every hole. And while we're on the subject of scoring, forget the old notion of aiming for a low score. That's SO 20th Century. Instead aim for a high score because highest score wins. Each hole has possible bonus point (or penalty) opportunities depending on where you hit your shot, and if your aim is true and can hit a Supertube, you get points and a likely Hole-In-One. Our experience was fantastic, and I couldn't help but marvel at the electronic hi-tech nature of the place and the very enjoyable total experience. PRO TIP The Natick Mall can be quite confusing to navigate and park, so if you have a reservation for golf be sure you allot plenty of time to park your car. read more

I am not the biggest mini golf fan and when visiting family they suggested coming here for some fun. I wasn't expecting much because I typically find mini golf to be boring. Puttshack blew me away! This was easily the most fun I have ever had playing mingolf. We arrived and had to check in for our reservation. The employee explained how the course works. You get your ball and you need to hang onto it, as the ball tracks all your putts over the course of your game. At the end of the course someone in your group is declared the winner complete with golf stats. What stood out to me right away was the courses. This is not your average course. Each course has a fun, playful, and colorful gimmick. The gimmicks can make the game more challenging and also allows you opportunities to earn bonus points. Our group had such a blast. The courses were not too difficult for the kids. We ordered drinks to enjoy on the course. I love that the menu has fun mocktails. I ordered the cotton candy crush. The drink is normally made with Red Bull but they were happy to substitute for sprite. It was perfectly made and delicious. After golfing our party sat down to eat. I do wish the menu had more of a variety of entrees. I found it difficult to narrow down what I wanted as the appetizer options were plentiful but not enough entree choices for my liking. I decided to go with the shiitake mushroom potstickers, as well as a side salad with chicken. The potstickers exceeded my expectations. I was surprised by how many was included with my order. The ponzu and peach dipping sauce enhanced the potstickers. The salad was fresh and delicious. I was surprised at how large it was for a side salad. Overall a wonderful experience. I wish we had a Puttshack locally in my area. Your average mini golf course can't come close. read more

Swing and a miss! We came to Puttshack hoping for a fun night out, we got a triple bogey. Starting with dinner: we sat at our table for 20 minutes without ever seeing server--and we were one of two tables in the place. Eventually, we gave up and went to the bar to order our own drinks. When the server did appear, it was a vanishing act. No follow-up, no drink offer, no vibe check- had to wave down for check. Then came the tech meltdown. My ball didn't register... twice. My husband's stopped registering halfway through the course. We never got to start or finish a game, and thanks to a babysitter countdown clock, we couldn't hang around for a redo--even if we wanted to. Which, after the tech fails, we definitely didn't. If you're an old-timer, like me, beware the music is loud, it felt like we were at a nightclub instead of a mini golf course. Romantic date night turned into shouting over glitchy putt-putt tech. The food was good, and the manager was kind--but ultimately couldn't help. I was told to email for a refund instead of resolving it on-site. TL;DR: If you order your own drinks, take your chances on paying up for a game that might not work as it says it does and yelling over club beats ... this is your place. We chose Puttshack Natick for my husband's birthday dinner last night, November 24, bringing our two small children. What should have been a fun evening turned into the worst restaurant experience of my life, centered around a severe health code violation and an astonishing failure of customer service. The Incident: Mid-meal, we saw a mouse running around directly under our table. As parents of two young, upset girls, we immediately notified the staff. The Shocking Indifference: The staff response was not only unhelpful but utterly cold and dismissive. They told us we could "move to another table if we wanted," and no one--not a single server or manager--came over to our table to assess the situation, try to resolve the issue, or offer assistance. We were forced to move all our plates, food, drinks, and children by ourselves to another table while the mouse continued to run free. My husband and I even contemplated trying to catch the rodent with a cup because no staff member would intervene. The Manager's Appalling Comment: When the manager finally came by, their response was chillingly unprofessional: "Yeah, when it gets cold they all come in here." There was no apology, no acknowledgment of the severity of the issue, and no offer to help us move our belongings. The Outcome: Despite our food being severely disrupted and our entire evening ruined--we didn't even stay to play the golf we planned--we were charged the full cost of the meal. We received no compensation, no discount, and absolutely zero apology. The four staff members, including the manager, made us feel like we were being ridiculous for being bothered by a rodent under our dinner table. This was by far the worst and most insulting treatment I have ever received in a service establishment. This was such a fun experience!!! Definitely my favorite and new go-to activity in the Natick mall. I went here with a few friends and we had a blast. There are two mini golf courses that are 9-holes each, and you can choose to do one or both of them. We decided to do both of them so we played 18-holes and it was about $32/person, which was an awesome deal and super worth it! The holes are super fun with each with various challenges such as obstacles, trivia, and more! It's cool because the course automatically tracks your golf ball and counts your points for you, so you don't have to worry about keeping score! Also its highest score wins the game here, so that's pretty unique for golf. This occupied us for about an hour and a half, and it's nice because you get some downtime between the two rounds and we stopped at one of the bars for some water. Huge beautiful space, came here on a Sunday and the downstairs bar was closed apparently, nobody came to wait on us for 20 minutes. No problem, we watched the Celtics win their first playoff game anyway. Finally went to the info desk and he said the bar upstairs is open, so we went upstairs. Then the fun really began. we ordered beer, they were out. Then we asked for a sample of another. It was warm, and all suds. One sip for two people. We ordered two drinks and food, but they didn't give us silverware or napkins. So we asked for them. They brought the "extra" napkins. We just looked at them--they said "oh I guess you still need napkins." Clueless and we were practically the only people there. The food came and it was meat when we ordered vegan. Thought I'd add a bit more detail on why the concept is great but sort of fails in execution based on my experience: - Was very confused about what to expect, and an email to customer service about restaurant reservations was unhelpful. I might understand why now - the games get so backed up that it's impossible to tell when you might be done so taking reservations is probably pointless. There is plenty of seating, and customer service could have just told me not to worry. - Upon arrival, we had to chase down multiple people to try to get answers on things. An online map with tips as well as perhaps a list of things to do when arriving might help? - There were three courses and during our 2+ hour visit, they were wildly uneven in terms of the # of people on each course and also how many were waiting in each line. You might end up being directed to a course with a short line, but you might also start a course behind two large and slow playing parties and just sit there waiting over and over during the entire playthrough. Though the staff can switch you to another course, they weren't doing it proactively. - Too many issues with the RFID balls or looking up too late and missing your own score because the screen advanced to the next party. No way to do a hole over that I could tell. No one wandering around to assist the patrons. Saw that the line attendants who handed out balls had to frequently re-do them apparently because the kiosk that programs them failed. PUTTSHACK: A ball returning from a course to the kiosk fell out of the track and hit me on the head. Maybe go back to the drawing board on this? - It would be better to have kiosk around the space to explain the detailed rules instead of the line attendant explaining them all to every single party (further delaying getting people onto the courses) - Drinks being brought to you on the course is really cool, but the courses are massively over-crowded and groups of people were constantly bumping into each other because there isn't enough open space between holes and courses. And there needs to be a drink table at the beginning AND end of each hole. read more

We had a really good time at Puttshack! I recommend trying to go later at night when it is less crowded and less small kids, although they do turn the music way up on the weekends. There are four courses and the ones we did were very fun and unique! The only complaint I had is that they don't let you do a big backswing so a lot of them it is hard to score well if you don't have big upper arm strength. Overall a fun time! read more

Things have to change at Puttshack. The place is really fun but absolutely not worth the price considering you only get to do one course. You also don't get to choose the course you want which means you might end up paying over and over again just to do the same course when you want to try something new... It was fun to try once but I wouldn't bring a group of friends here knowing how quick the games go by and how expensive they are. Decided to give Puttshack a try on a Saturday at 8:30p with my husband and teenage son. Ambience wise the place is very nice/ somewhat upscale, tons of comfortable seating, and friendly staff. There was a DJ and the music was a little loud for conversation at our table, but I liked the vibe/songs. My margarita flatbread with prosciutto was very tasty as was my husband's chicken sandwich (garlic fries were so yummy!). My son got the lobster Mac spring rolls and said they were good. We got lucky that the place was not too busy so the groups playing mini golf were well spread out so we could enjoy the novelty of each course (9 per game). Each one is based on a classic game (beer pong, wheel of fortune, pac man, air hockey etc) and the tech is fun how your ball tracks your score for you (we had one brief ball glitch, but a staff member promptly fixed it for us). New to Puttshack and visited here for the first time and being a new establishment, it was of course a bit disorganized. I am not sure what I was expecting, however, I was not expecting the layout and set up here. This is in thje old American Girl Doll store in the Natick Mall which was a sprawling 10K plus square foot space. I am not sure what the designers were thinking but this seems a bit off. You walk in and the hostess stand is crammed over in a corner near the window, and you are not sure if you are supposed to see them or check in if you already have a reservation. There is a coat check in an odd spot and then there is this odd dining restaurant area and bar in the middle of the front of the place and its not that large. The golf course on the first floor is crammed in the back part of the rear room and is an odd set up, hole upon hole almost on top of each other and you are literally tripping over other guests trying to play each hole. Grtanted the technology is pretty cool, chip in the ball, knows who is playing, cool courses and point calculations etc., however the designer of this place needs their head examined as this is not a great set up. There are two other courses on upstairs levels that are similar and I was a bit surprised this was the set up. Price wise, this is a bit extreme, 4 of us was around $45 for a 9 holer round, not 18 holes and the drinks were a bit steep. Not sure I would come back to this spot, I was all excited about it too!
