Went on a Wednesday for a $10 burger and beer special. Wasn't really clear but the bartender is also the server. They were nice and explain the process. Drinks are weak after 3 drinks the bar tender cut me off even though I was barely buzzed after and when I apologized for calling the drinks weak he said I disrespected him and treating me like I was a drunk and told all the bar tenders not to serve me so because of that awful experience and the disrespect I will not be coming back and would not recommend this bar especially after hearing from other customers about the manager accusing these people of having fake IDs would definitely not come back, definitely better places to spend your money read more

I had a great experience here Monday night. Was with a crew of 7 (2 under 4 years old) and our waitress was great. She was patient and attentive and great with getting kids set up with play mats ! Ordered dinner takeaway here for the first time on a Friday night. We ordered Jocos Totchos, the Caesar Salad with steak, and the Moody Mess. Total came out to $48. What's Hot - Quality. The steak on my Caesar salad was tender and decently flavored. It was slightly pink inside, which I appreciated. It was easy chewing into my steak and it was slightly seasoned, but not overly seasoned and not overly salty. There was plenty of parmesan cheese on my Caesar salad, which added to the flavor. The Jocos Totchos was delish! Plenty of melted cheese and there was even some chili, which surprised me, because it looked like it was an additional add-on that you would have to order. The bread on the Moody Mess was grilled, which added to the flavor of the sandwich. - Portions. Pretty good size portions and we were full when we finished our food. - Takeaway containers. Our food came in styrofoam containers. The Moody Mess had a layer of aluminum foil on the bottom and Jocos Totchos had a layer of parchment paper on the bottom, which was helpful. Salad dressings had their own container and the additional guacamole and salsa were in their own container, as well. Each takeaway container was labeled, which was helpful. During this time of the pandemic, where many of us are ordering more takeaway, it's useful and appreciated to have the takeaway containers labeled, so we're not opening everything to guess what's what. - Service. The food was ready before what was originally anticipated on Uber Eats, which hubby and I definitely appreciated. The food was ready and still warm when we picked it up. All the food containers were stacked inside the plastic bag, and the receipt was taped on the bag, which helped make it clear that it was our order. - Website. They have a pretty good website, which is informational and updated, which is a good thing to have during this time of the pandemic. Hubby and I definitely used this to get a better idea of the menu, pricing, and how the restaurant is currently operating. What's Not - Price. The Moody Mess was $18, Jocos Totchos was $16, and the Caesar Salad with steak was $14. The cost is a little high, but not by much. Just be prepared that even for pub food, this is gonna cost you. My $10.99 Meatball Sandwich ("Slow cooked Italian meatballs covered in melted Provolone cheese and marinara sauce, served on a toasted French Roll") was so good, and it was so good because the meatballs were amazing. Soft....juicy....intensely flavorful... just outstandingly and deliciously perfect. Just as impressive as the meatballs was the 21 choices that grace Joco's beer taps. You can pick any four for a $12 flight and try a generous sampling of 5 ounces each. I built a flight from a Hefeweissbier from Germay, 21st Amendment El Sully Lager from California, Schofferhoffer Grapefruit Weizen from Germany, and Epic Brewing 825 Nitro Stout from Utah. I loved them all and was pretty surprised at how tasty that German grapefruit beer was ! For dinner we went halfsies on the sandwiches, so I also had the $9.99 Panini with mozzarella and prosciutto. That was an excellent sandwich as well! We really enjoyed Joco's - a nice friendly Irish pub vibe inside. They have live music Wed-Sat after nine (no cover charge), Tuesday trivia, and 25 cent wings on Monday. One beer, one beer flight, and the two sandwiches ran just under $40 after tax and before tip. I'm not sure what I was really expecting when I walked in for the first time, but I felt so beyond welcomed! The environment & atmosphere is so family-like, and the staff were hilarious and gave my friend & I some great drink suggestions. Went at lunchtime to checkout the place and liked the local bar atmosphere. Nice that they live music in here to check out! On to the only food I tried. I ordered up to types of wings. All i can say is that the underlying taste of their wings were very bland. I think they need to let them soak in a brine for a few hours first to give it some flavor. The garlic parm was aweful. Burnt tasting garlic isnt appealing. The order with BBQ was slightly better but still the wings need to start with some flavor . Oh well lesson learned. Jocos is the best bar in Waltham. The staff are all friendly and helpful (Morgan is the best), they always have new beers, and alot of them, and even though they have a tiny kitchen, they turn out some pretty good food (meatball panini is my favorite). It's a great place to come and have a quick beer while you are doing laundry across the street, or come and sit for a while and listen to live music and drink lots of beer. Steak was bland but the meat was tender. Definitely would suggest adding more flavor to the tips. Got the buffalo tenders too as a side and those are awesome. This is my favorite spot on Moody St. When I was looking at apartments a few years back when I moved up to Massachusetts, I stopped in for a few beers before I met the landlord and knew I had found the right place. Perfect spot for a pregame, nightcap, or randomly getting plastered on a Tuesday night. AWFUL EXPERIENCE! I went with friends on a Saturday night and we ordered drinks and some food before we were going out. We waited for our food for over an hour and when it finally came out, we were missing some of our orders. They agreed to comp our meal because it had been so long, but then as we were leaving the manager came out and started yelling at us. He threw away all of our food and told us that we could get it from the trash if we wanted it. He then accused us of having fake IDs (we don't, we are all over 21 and offered to let them scan our IDs) and screamed at us as we walked down the street. read more

We tried this place to grab a quick lunch. We all ordered 3 burgers. They were awfully small, dry and plain. There was only cheese and the patty inside with a little sautéed mushrooms on top. And that was it. No sauce no flavor no nothing. The patty was the driest I've ever had. My jaw hurt from chewing. I ordered fries on the side and I'm not kidding there were black to the core. Burnt so bad and the oil it was fried in smelled disgusting. My coworkers grabbed salad on the side and it was literally 2 lettuce sliced in to the plate. A nice looking bar without attitude and a neighborhood feel without creepy townies...is this possible you ask?? It is at Joco's. My friends and I first stumbled upon this place back on Halloween. There wasn't too big of a crowd, a fabulous DJ and a super friendly atmosphere. It was one of the more fun nights out that I can remember. We were dancin' with complete strangers on a bench by the end of the night. We recently returned for some dinner and drinks. Dinner was a little bit lighter fare than I expected. But the sandwiches and panini's were extremely fresh and they had some interesting sides of olives and green bean/mixed bean salad. Great place. Family owned and operated. Mom's in the kitchen and it shows. Fresh food, handmade. Awesome fresh cut, thick, skin on - golden brown fries. No truffle oil and rosemary here. They taste like...hmmmm...potatoes! Even the hotdog is great - grilled and served on hot buttered roll. Draft Beer selection is well curated and strong! Ditto whiskeys.
