Had some time to kill and decided it was a gorgeous day in October. We opted for a round of 18 hole putt putt. $11 a person, pay at the window, choose your golf balls, grab your putters, and start up the path. Now this place has a nice driving range no frills, it's not top golf but it seems like a relaxing range to let them fly. The mini putt, i think there's only 16 courses not 18 currently. Looks like a couple were taken out maybe being redone? Or we just missed it but I'm pretty sure we didn't miss them. This isn't the obstacle style one with the dinosaurs, windmills, clown mouth. It's a simplistic, more...... clean? Style putt. Has the bumps, turns, nature in your path, but not the frills. Enjoyed our time. Quick and easy. Groups of 5 technically are allowed but we saw groups bigger. With 2 people you can rip thru the course pretty quickly. read more

I love McGolf! I've been coming here for years ever since I was a young kid. This is perfect for all ages, a ton of fun for big groups. It's affordable, conveniently located, and an awesome summer outdoor activity. There are 18 holes here, so you can expect to spend about an hour here. I also really like the ice cream. I'm here to say "not much", especially when the facility is as nice as McGolf. We didn't see any spinning windmills or castles or creepy clowns on any of their 18 minigolf holes. In fact, there were zero moving or mechanical hazards anywhere, so this course really relies on your putting ability. The course is beautiful, with a big central lake, a fountain, and an elevated waterfall. As you progress through the course, you work your way up and up through a series of stairs and ramps. I did manage a hole in one pretty early on, and rimmed a lot of my putts. The kids had a blast and seemed particularly fascinated by a few golf clubs that had either been tossed or thrown into the big lake in the middle of the course. A round of gold costs $11 if the golfer is more than 48 inches tall, and $9 if under 48". If you happen to lose your ball, or smack it into the water, a replacement will cost you a buck. One interesting and novel thing I saw here was the availability to play with a specially decorated "designer" ball! After we finished our round we walked across the parking lot and the kids shared an $11 bucket of balls on the driving range. There's also a snack bar on premises and we bought 2 bottles of water for a rather rude $3 apiece. Except for that, our experience with the facilities and personnel was stellar. read more

I love this place. The mini putt area is well manicured and the holes are just challenging enough. But what I really love about this place is the driving range - and in particular, the "yellow" / restricted area, which comes with complimentary Toptracer access, which is a great resource for those looking to track their progress. The yellow section also includes bays that have auto-loading golf ball Ts, and the bays are covered (which was very handy, since I was caught in the rain there recently). Love this minature golf course ideal for all ages. Came here for my birthday with the hubby on a weekday where no one was around so it was more fun for me so there was no pressure to rush from other patrons. It's a good size course and is located in Dedham which is next to our neighborhood in West Roxbury. If you're up in this area check this out. There doesn't seem to be a Top Golf-like establishment near Boston so this is the next best thing. It's a driving range with many bays but definitely not as entertaining or recreational as Top Golf (can't see score, etc). However, still fun. There are people of all ages all seriously practicing there, so it's a bit intimidating initially but there are the occasional newbies (like us) or young kids who are messing around. Each bucket of balls is $10. You can fill the bay so that the balls come out automatically on the tee. The balls can come with clubs for you to borrow but the clubs were very old and some sort of broken, so many people brought their own clubs instead. Plenty of shaded bays but few left handed bays (I think there were two). The cafe is a fun place to stop by after. The ice cream scoops were pretty large! read more

This is a great place to play mini golf and go to the driving range at any time of day! Even in rainy weather, the covered area provides a nice place to smack golf balls all night. Went on a Wednesday late morning with the family. We had a good time here. We bought 5 baskets of golf balls. They give you the golf clubs, which appeared to be in good condition. It's $10 per basket and there are 2 sections to the driving range. On the right is open air, so the sun is on you. To the left are covered booths, highly recommended on sunny/hot days. Most of the booths have the automatic machines to help you setup the balls for your next swing. Make sure you ask for the golf punch card (rewards program) so you can earn towards free baskets of balls as you purchase more and more baskets. We finished with ice cream, and it was good. There appears to be adequate parking right up front. We did not get a chance to try the mini golfing section...maybe next time. This place also has golf camp/training. Most of the students appeared to be young children. Note that they reserve space on both sides of the course for training so it may be difficult to get side by side booths if you go during busier times. The mens bathroom was decently clean. There is a section for you to enjoy your purchased food/drinks. No outside food allowed. read more

Great spot to do mini golf and the driving range on the same day! The parking lot over looks both activities so you do not need to walk far. The mini golf course is a bit straight forward. (Please read the entire review to understand why I have mentioned my race here) If I could give this place a zero star I would. Me and my boyfriend (both of us are brown in our mid 20s) decided go here yesterday for our date night to play mini golf. We went and bought the tickets at the counter where a white female attended to us and were given two golf clubs. These two golf clubs were a bit heavy to our liking, very long and uncomfortable for us to get a good swing of to play so my boyfriend went and asked the attender at the counter for a shorter golf club. The attender I dont know for what reason denied giving him any other length of golf clubs citing the reason to be that they did not have any other length of golf clubs cause it was crowded. My boyfriend told me that it was weird that she refused to swap the golf clubs even though they had so many golf club of different lengths at the counter. Seeing this I thought I would give it a shot and ask atleast one cause we did pay for the golf session nd the clubs given to us was very uncomfortable to use. I went and asked her, was told the same thing that she doesn't have any availability of any other lengths' golf clubs cause it was crowded when I could literally see that so many of them were available - some of them were new (idk if they have a rule to not give out new golf clubs) and some of the other golf clubs that were available looked used. This felt very weird as to why we were being refused for no reason. So we were curious and kept an eye out for the new people who came and the kind of golf clubs they were being given. Almost 4 different groups of all white people with around 4-5 people in each group came right after us. I kid you not all of these people were given golf clubs of different lengths ranging from the shortest to the longest. This threw us off completely as to why you would refuse us and give the same clubs that we asked for to the people who came right after us . And I would like to mention that only 4 people returned their golf clubs during this duration after finishing up but the attender somehow magically had more than 10 different lengths of golf clubs that "weren't available" to give out to the groups of people who came literally right after us. I came back home and checked their website to see if they had policies related to being any sort of paid members for the mini golf or anything for that matter that would justify this behavior, but did not find anything that would justify this. I dont want to make a whole agenda out of this interaction nor put my words in the other person's mouth but the only difference in me nd my boyfriend and the people who came right after us was that we were brown and they weren't. I know that this might look like a very small thing related to golf clubs, but still we were not given the same customer service and felt discriminated from others for presumably the only reason that I can think of is us being brown. I would love to differ and change my review if I am reached out to and given a proper justification for this as this experience ruined our mood completely and I certainly dont plan on coming here again nor recommend this place to anyone else. read more

Was visiting my brother's family in Boston when they decided to take the kids here for some mini golf. I've only been to a handful of various mini golf places in the last 20 years, and though the holes here are fairly mini golf standard, I will say that the place I went in San Diego (Family Fun Center) and the mini golf place in I believe Anaheim? were both more interesting and "fun" than McGolf. There were more decorations and the courses there both had more interesting things to look at, whereas here it was just the course. It was also, unfortunately very crowded, which is not a good combination when there are teenagers that go as well as families, where the wait can get a bit long. I missed the note until my brother saw it posted that I believe was if any hole took more than 4 tries, to just mark a 4 on the score sheet. Here we were, sometimes taking 8 to 10 tries :) If other groups were like us, this would add to the wait. This was a Friday Labour Day weekend. I can't imagine what it would be like on a Saturday. Convenience wise, it was very close to Newton. It is nice that it also has a driving range. I will say all the workers were very friendly. When my nephew hit his ball too hard that it landed in the pond, they were very nice to just give us another ball to continue with, only telling us to please avoid the pond. Didn't try the driving range, the ice cream or the food. I foresee the parking lot getting very busy and crowded with the amount of visitors McGolf has. All in all, it is a nice place for a family outing to get some fresh air and have some fun, but to me it doesn't stand out from other mini golf courses I've experienced. But, you take what you can get, and it certainly is better than nothing! read more

A good option to go practice. McGolf is open year round which is a plus. They have a covered, and lit area full of bays which is nice for the cold, rain or dark. Won't be seeing me there during those times though! However, as a left handed golfer, I wish there were more left handed bays in the covered area. (There are only two) which is pretty unfortunate especially on a busy day when you have to wait for a long time. Employees there are relatively friendly. I worked with one of the pros there, Joe Chen, who is incredibly nice, and a great guy to work with. Would DEFINITELY recommend having a lesson with him. Short of one older woman who has kind of an attitude, customer service is usually good, and I haven't had too many issues. The short game facility I will say is pretty pricey to join which is kind of unfortunate if that's the area of your game you want to practice specifically. But from of what I've seen, it's in pretty good shape short of the winter, and it's pretty big which is good for busy days in the warm months. I don't really play putt putt, but last time I did the course was pretty beat up, and my friends and I had to wait a pretty long time in between each hole which was pretty frustrating. There are many other options to consider for practice if you are looking to save a little money and get more out of it, or use a short game green. Overall nothing truly stands out, but McGolf is a convenient place to go practice or spend time with family if you are someone who lives in the area. Just be cognizant of how busy it can get when your planning to go. read more

McGolf is the best. We've done two weeks of camp and my six and nine year old left with great skills and a ton of improvement. Pricey place with some conveniences that you don't find at every driving range. The pros of McGolf are their long hours and a facility with both lit and covered bays. This allows you to go practice in the middle of the evening or when it's raining, which is nice if you're a diehard golfer. The other advantage of McGolf are the Power Tees. You pour your bucket of balls into a loader and can set the tee to several different heights. After you hit the ball, a new one will usually pop up. The system isn't perfect, so you may sometimes have to hit the a button to reload. The luxury comes at an expense. Buckets are $10. On my most recent visit, I bought 2 buckets and got to hit 97 balls (counted on the screen of the Power Tee). This either means that the counter is not accurate - or the buckets of balls are not equal. Is it supposed to be 50 balls each and I got shorted 3 balls? I'd think less of this if it wasn't for the fact that $10 for about 50 balls is quite expensive for a public driving range. You are really paying a premium to not bend down to place the ball on the tee. The setup is not optimal for practicing with irons. I noticed that the system doesn't detect if you move the ball to hit off the mat, so I usually had to hit the button to get my next ball. I'm an amateur golfer, but I found it more challenging to hit off of these mats than at other ranges in the area. Also, I was not allowed to get my credit card receipt due to safety concerns. I guess I appreciate the precaution, but this is the only business I've been to during the pandemic that has refused to give me my receipt for that reason. read more

The mini golf course is at the far right edge of the parking lot. $7.25 for the first game for adults, and a second game for $3. 18 holes around a pond of orange/red/black/blue fish and a couple of turtles. Entertaining for adults and kids alike! (both the pond and the game) When the place is crowded, there might be a wait for the first hole, as well as between the other holes. But they have a Practice Putting Green where you can play around in the meantime. I haven't been here in a couple of years, so I definitely noticed the new carpeting they laid out for each of the holes. Cute mini-golf course with an attached driving range and cafe - something for everyone! The course itself doesn't stand out to other courses per se, but the main waterfall running right through the middle holes is picturesque and makes for a great focal point and photo op. Been here twice and both times it's been crowded so parking in the small lot can be tricky and wait times for putting can vary. We can usually get one or two holes in before catching up to the groups in front. read more

McGolf is an excellent place to bring the family, for a date, to spend some practice time on the range, to enjoy an ice cream after a long, summer day....or any combination of those things. Let me start with the mini-golf. McGolf brings 18 holes of safe, fun, family friendly entertainment to Dedham. None of the holes are too challenging which makes this ideal for the very young and the less gifted putters in your group. I will warn those who have issues with stairs that a couple of holes on the back nine require some climbing to the top of the course, and then back down again. So be ready for that. The balance of the holes are flat with fairly benign obstacles compared to other mini-golf venues. Next, the driving range. They will provide clubs (e.g., drivers, long irons to pitching wedges) with the purchase of a bucket, and the balls are all in excellent shape. I was impressed with the bucket for $9 not only being reasonable in price, but all balls being white and in good shape. Some ranges have balls that have clearly seen far better days...especially the ones that were in a pond for years. But, McGolf's balls were of consistent quality which is beneficial when working on your game. The mats were also in good shape, and there are plenty of targets of varying distances. For the very long hitters (think 275 yards+) there is the opportunity to hit over the landing area into a wooded area, so just be aware of that. I found it a great place to work on the short game and swing mechanics. McGolf offers memberships which also gives you access to a putting green and sand trap. Check their website or stop in for more details on other benefits. Finally, the food and ice cream. While we only had the ice cream after our activities I have to say that I have had better. And while the price of mini-golf and a bucket of balls were priced much like other places, the ice cream was more expensive at almost $6 for a medium cone which was also much smaller than other places that also serve product that are also made on site. Overall, McGolf is a great treat for the money and a wonderful way to spend time with the family, a way to get the kids active, or a way to see if that date will beat you at golf. Not impressed. Charged more for mini golf than advertised. Driving range tees always broken. Immature kids working the cash out. Had a guy come over and fix my tee twice. Never worked correctly once my whole time there.After I requested a gift card for a single bucket of balls, denied my request. I said, then maybe take it out of service so you don't waste other people's money. He said he would. I stayed and watched as they kept it open and another person had problems. This place has really gone downhill. I spent my childhood here and have taken my kids many times over the years. During the most recent visit, we found the greens on almost every hole torn, bubbled or worn out. The waterfall has been off on every visit. The 18th hole was gutted and taped off with no directions on how to exit. People were walking around in circles trying to figure it out. Choice was to walk across someone else's game on the 16th and then cut through wet hedges or disregard the caution tape and walk through the 18th. Sad that they let this place slide so much. Don't think we will be back any time soon. read more

Love this place, it's a perfect set up. The staff is over the top friendly and helpful. Every single person I ever encountered there is great. My son loves to have me bring him over with a few friends. Yesterday they tried the driving range for the first time. They absolutely love it and again the staff was so nice as always. We met the Catholic Memorial golf coach there last year. We really enjoyed talking to him, and he was so nice to the boys. Even though they are from BC HIGH, haha he had some rival stories to tell. My family of adults had a great time mini golfing at McGolf on the 4th of July. They have a frequent visitor card that earns free admission, so some of us had admission waved due to that. The mini golf course is fun. Challenging enough that adults need to use strategy, but not so tough that kids get frustrated. It's 18 holes. It is NOT handicap accessible though with lots of stairs in between holes. There's a pond with ducklings on the course & a waterfall too. When you return your clubs, the ball return is a plinko style game that could win you another game. (My father-in-law won a free game.) There is a restroom, but it's past the café, so a bit of a walk. read more

Great driving range. Heated indoor bays (with purchase of heater tokens - 50c = 15min. Automated "ball-on-tee-loaders". Loyalty cards available too. We stopped by on a late Friday afternoon to check out the driving range. There is plenty of parking in the lot. It is very close to Legacy Place. The weather was beautiful! While it looked like it was getting crowded, there were still plenty of space for my four friends and I to get four spots next to each other (one kind sir actually moved over for us). They have a covered area too, but more spaces in the open area. A bucket of balls is $9 which is not too bad. (I usually go to other places early in the morning for their unlimited balls deal.) They let us borrow their clubs without a fee and even had irons for us to use. Service was great - everyone was very nice and courteous. They also have ice cream and mini golf! My kids LOVE McGolf. It has a challenging 18 hole minature golf course with a great ice cream snack bar shack that serve sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, fries etc... The driving range is perfect and is set up to be used all year long. They have heated and covered bays. Great overall experience! High-tech practice facility that you can track every shot broken down by club. Better than a Top Golf and less expensive/shot, if you are looking to improve your game. The founding family is still involved and their passion for the game is reflected in every employee. 4.5 stars I've been coming here ever since I was a kid and still love going to McGolf. Since then, this place has become busier = all the merrier. Whether you're driving or putting, it's relaxing and so much fun! Great for dates, group events, kids, or just killing time. After a round of mini-golf, I'd recommend going to the Sweet Spot Cafe (near entrance of parking lot). I was expecting only ice cream and desserts, but they have a wide selection of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and sooo many drinks (non-alcoholic, of course)! But since I was there at a random time around 4:30PM and had dinner plans, I got a small treat to share with my bf. We tried a GLACIER: 2 scoops of slush (we went with watermelon flavor) + vanilla soft served ice cream for $3.79! Please see photo of this deliciousness.
