The conditions were great and the greens were rolling smooth. The pro's are really nice and the whole facility is just classy. They have a solid real grass driving range and a great short game practice area with bunkers, practice putting greens, and a really nice short wedge shot range next to main driving range. We took our time warming up and then played a full 18. We took carts but the design is made for walking. All in all this is an outstanding track and will probably be in my top 10 maybe top 5 when it's all said and done.

Some were slow, some were a little faster, but they were tough. Fairways are in good shape and the tee boxes for the most part were also in good shape. As a group of women golfers, we have consistently been talked down to and questioned about our play (jumping ahead of others, which we did not). Today our cart was not working well when we started, driving very slowly. On the second hole the cart stopped working and the battery light lit up. An older gentleman (the starter) approached us and said in an extremely condescending manner, "Ladies, if you put the cart in neutral it won't drive." I told him that we know how to drive a cart. He went on to say smugly, "Well it's working fine for me." I told him we were switching carts and proceeded to move my clubs. By the way, the cart wasn't working well for him either. We've been here many times, and this has been consistent treatment. Women beware!

Other staffers at GolfTec were also quite helpful and qualified, but I cannot defend the way Ae talks to children and acts in front of them. It was extremely disappointing to find out GolfTec had hired someone who should not be allowed anywhere near children, and probably some adults. Golftec, please, do the right thing. It's a simplistic, more...... clean? Style putt. Has the bumps, turns, nature in your path, but not the frills. Enjoyed our time. Quick and easy. Groups of 5 technically are allowed but we saw groups bigger. With 2 people you can rip thru the course pretty quickly.

Even though the course is in pristine condition, it does get very backed up and rounds can take a while. On a positive note, everything else is amazing about this place. The food is fantastic, the club house is scenic and beautiful, and the service is always friendly and well organized. The people at this club know the right kind of personal to hire, and the right kind of members to take in because every time I am here with my family friends and other friends who are members, I always have a wonderful experience. Brae Burn also has the perfect mix of golf, and social events, which is perfect for a country club. Not to mention a beautiful pool and tennis facility not far from the clubhouse. Also with indoor simulators for the winter months! Would definitely recommend if you live in the Newton area if your looking to join a country club. There's something for everybody!
