My rabbits love their hay and treats. I always get Timothy hay, dried herbs and some oxbow products when I go to their farm store. They have great prices too! Their hay is much better quality than a lot of others and much less dusty if you have allergies.

We are new to Sherborn and recently had my daughter's 3rd birthday party at Sweet Meadow Farm. I cannot say enough great things about the entire experience!! Every single person who came was raving about the party and how much fun their kids had meeting all the animals. Our party was 10:00-11:30am and in that window they all got to feed the cows, goats, pigs, and put bows on the little horses before going upstairs to meet the turtle, bunnies, lizards, gerbils, and more! My husband and I added on the pizza for convenience and the staff handled and set up everything including the snacks, drinks, cake and all the decorations we brought with us!! Highly recommend to anyone considering a birthday here!! We can't wait to come back.

I went to a work summer party here once and we got to play with all the animals including a bunch of puppies. It was heaven. Years later I actually adopted a cocker spaniel beagle puppy from this Farm and we adore her! She's BFF w our lab mix.

it's my second home, I fell in love with everything there. Animals, horses, staff. All my closest friends are from there. It saved me.

Sweet Meadow is a gorgeous and super well run farm that's also a educational facility. The family that owns it are down to earth and the staff are top notch. It's a great place to go for great quality animal feed, and their events and seasonal activities are such a great time, whether is Halloween for hayrides and candy, or pictures with Santa and the horses for Christmas. They do have camps and classes for kids but since I don't have any kids I think it's an awesome thing that they have happy hour for ADULTS! I have gone twice now and let me tell you, if you don't want to eat pizza drink a beer and play with so many animals then this is the wrong place for you. And you also should stay home because nobody needs to hear you being opposed to the three best things in life.... Pizza, puppies, and beer. I'll just end on that note.

chickens- you can purchase eggs from here!

Since I…read morefinally had a paying job after getting my Master's degree, I decided I wanted to take back up riding lessons, something I had done all through high school, but hadn't continued in college or grad school, except for exercising some of my friends horses in Virginia. Working in Needham, I decided to start looking in the surrounding towns, and stumble up Woodridge. I'm so glad I did! What a great facility. They have a large, well-maintained barn with beautiful horses. They have a large indoor ring (which can get a little crowded sometimes) (also it has a heated viewing area) and an ENORMOUS outdoor ring with at least 20+ jumps. There are riders of every level here - from adorable five-year-olds riding little ponies, to intermediate riders like myself, to majorly advanced riders that compete USEF. While many people at the barn compete and show, the atmosphere isn't very competitive - I have no interest in showing, but have never felt left out because of it. The fees associated with just taking lessons are slightly expensive - but for the quality of horses available, instructors, and care, it feels worth it. A half-hour private lesson will run you around $65. If you're in a rush and don't have time to groom and tack up your horse yourself, they have incredible grooms that will happily do it for you - and help you untack and cool down / groom the horse after your ride, while you are cleaning your tack. The outdoor paddocks are a little small, but the horses here are so pampered and well-bred that they probably don't even want to be outside. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place for riders of any level.

After riding here for a few years I finally said farewell after so much drama. If you don't want to show, board a horse, or ride multiple times per week you were not a top priority. It is all about the money and not the horses!! Throughout the times riding at this barn it was clear that there was and still is constant turnover of instructors. There were at least 15 different instructors in about 5 years and the makeup lessons. There are only 2 instructors that are still teaching at the farm after many years. More advanced riders such as myself were given the 'left over' horses during the summer camp and regular lessons since all the others were used way too much. These left over horses desperately needed a qualified trainer to work with them and not kids. Including a therapeutic riding horse that reared in the cross ties and needed way more training before it should have been added to the program. The beginner horses were used so much that they would go lame every other week. Safety is not a top priority at this farm for the campers, riders, and horses. In a few lessons I can remember a newer horse that was placed in beginner lesson programs that would throw riders weekly... but was never taken out of the lessons and given training. As for the birthday parties the owner never gave proper training. It was always whose not doing something... and throw them in there. We never had training for summer camp CIT either, even though it is stated online as well. If I have to pay over $300 a week I do not want to be treated as trash from other CIT's. There was no schedule for what to do with the campers only there lesson time and it was up to me to figure out what to do with them... with my great training. The barn owner can be rude, forgetful, and condescending. I had to wait for years to get my 3 paid for makeup lessons. After deliberating with the owner that in fact I had them even after I sent her the old emails, she kept denying. After stumbling across a previous farm horse I posted an older photo of that horse, named Magic, with me at Lil folk. Magic is obviously way happier at the place that he is now. The barn owner decided what a great opportunity to twist my words. She denied that was the horse yet went to the horses owner and told her something else. Just childish. I'll attach the photos below. You can't have your own opinion of this barn unless it's what the owner wants. Even if it would benefit the horses care and the safety of all riders. Overall I would NEVER recommend this barn for anything The last photo is BOSTON! He shared his bridle with Magic, but used different bits. Notice the difference in head coloration, size, and bit change (from Magic in previous photos.)

For the horse boarding -- the barn is well-designed and the staff pays attention to details. The horses are the priority, and the stalls are clean and well-sized. The riding instructors are excellent -- they each have their own approach, so you might want to try lessons with different people depending on your goals. Riders range from tiny kids to retirement-age. One note ... You might notice a lot of "evidence of birds" on the barn walls - but this is because sparrows are welcomed as a natural insect control method during the summer. The blueberries are delicious and usually abundant. Like any pick-your-own experience -- you will get to see the fruit in all its shapes and sizes, not just the prime examples that are packed for store sale. Even if a berry is a little bit marbled in color or small, it is still tasty.

Being from central mass, and meeting…read morepeople from Boston meant we had to find a midway farm and the blue meadow didn't disappoint! On the MA Upik site, it says no kids under 6 years old. This is OLD INFORMATION. (The current owners parents had nets hung that kids used to pull on / parents wouldn't pay attention). However, there are no more nets and no more age restrictions! I called ahead to make sure the 2-yr old picker with us would be welcome- and he was! The Entrance is marked with a homemade Upik sign To distinguish it from the driveway entrance to the horseback riding and stables. When you arrive you're greeted by a small tent where you pick up red buckets fashioned with a string (for convenient around the neck holding and double-fisted berry picking, of course!) Berries are measured by the quart. Notches have been made in the bucket to display the volume picked. They approximate how much you have picked to take home up to the half quart. Blueberries are $4.50 a quart (a steal, most places are $5.70-$6 from why I've seen. I have surmised that this is because the patch sits adjacent to the horseback riding farm part of the property otherwise present.). These prices of course only include the berries to take home, not the ones to be smacked on while picking - as we were reminded while both on our way in and out. Spraying the bushes only occurs as *required* by the State. No additional spraying of the fruit occurs You park a couple hundred feet from the tent, and walk downhill but only another 100-200 feet (it's a little steep, ask to park at the stables of hills are a big issue, I can't imagine they'd mind terribly) down to the blueberry patches. These ~1,200 someodd, 50ish year old plants are present in around four varieties. During this opening week, we found sweet, plump berries as far as the eye could see, and surprisingly few fellow pickers. Is this BC most other farms aren't starting Upik for another week? (I called a bunch ). Definitely put this farm on your list. Farm and Berries are easy to get to, delicious, and well-priced. the view with the horses is beautiful, there's a swingset that I assume visitors can use(?) and nice people run the place! What more can you want?

When I'm making dinner she doesn't play with dolls she practices her jumping on her hobby horse. She was given a hand me down bouncy horse and spends hours 'riding'. Trouble is, no one wants to actually put a five year old on a live animal. Five year olds, especially girls, are really still very little. Their legs are too short to reach the stirrups, they don't have muscle strength in their thighs to grip, and if the horse bolts they will go flying, because they simply aren't strong enough to control the big animals. I spent a lot of time asking and googling, and trying to find anyone who does riding classes for kids under 7, and finally I came to the end of my long journey at Clarion Farms. Carly, the sweet owner of the school, works with as many as 15 of these little budding equestrians at any time, as well as running a summer camp for young riders. She keeps some very mellow ponies and undersized helmets on site, and she really understands how to work with very young kids. A one hour class consists of saddling, including grooming the pony, leading it to the ring, 15 minutes of riding on a long lead, then brushing the horse down and cleaning tack. Perfect! I do highly recommend Carly to any parent who has a little kid who wants nothing but to get onto a horse. I wish she wasn't so far away from us, and the drive does make it impossible to get there more than a few times this summer, but it is so worth it for the happiness I can see on Ruby's face when she is on the pony!
