I came expecting big things from this spot. They have a robust taco menu for not being a Mexican restaurant. The options are tacos are vast. Tuna poke, lobster roll, smash burger, pulled pork... so many to choose from. I ended up being disappointed with my selections. The lobster roll was more lobster salad being 75% mayo. I didn't finish it. The smash burger taco was salty. I mean like really salty. It might have been good otherwise. Pulled pork was probably the best taco from my selections. Tuna poke had too much mayo that I could barely taste the tuna. The highlight was the lobster guacamole. I really liked that. For now, I can say I was disappointed by the tacos which was the reason I came initially I will go back and try more dishes though. Service was A+ and there's outside seating. The inside was loud but great AC on a humid night. They also had an open mic night downstairs which looked fun. The food was probably the part that was just okay. I recall I had a steak and that wasn't bad, but the Mac and cheese was kind of bland. The empanadas were not bad. ANGEL is amazing!! Great, honest, and descriptive recommendations! Had a great memory for any changes and all the things we ordered (and we kept ordering new cause his recs were so good!). He pays attention to detail and was just the best. His recs that I had were the carne asada and the Cajun salmon tacos. Highlight of the meal was the Ceasar Salad, which truly set a new standard for all salads everywhere. Tacos were average, however for the amount of filling they have make them quite overpriced. All staff was way kinder than expected. Host, bartender, multiple servers checked on us with a welcoming attitude all night long. The menu had some really creative ideas and they were delicious! The space is open and well designed. The Crunchwrap I ate had a beef patty in it and texturally it wasn't the best. It's probably more labor but it would've had a way better bite if it had been ground beef. The cheese sauce was perfection. This is SUCH a delicious Southwestern restaurant in Wellesley Square! Definitely my new go to spot when I'm in the area! The menu is so unique, featuring a variety of a-la-carte tacos and other Mexican dishes. My roommate and I came here for dinner on a Tuesday night, coincidentally right in time for their 7PM Tuesday night trivia bash. It was so much fun! We ordered a half portion of nachos to start, which were perfectly sized for two people. The guacamole and queso were both super tasty on the chips. For tacos, we each ordered 3 and this was definitely enough food on top of the nacho appetizer. I ordered the chicken, birria, and smash burger tacos. They were absolutely delicious! The smash burger was definitely my favorite, it tasted like the best big mac I've ever had in my life. The birria was also very good as well- it was my first birria I've ever had and I've been so sad to have been missing out, the brown sugar dipping sauce was great for all 3 tacos. I personally liked the PBLT taco best, and the baja fish was a classic baja style dish, but felt the short rib taco was somewhat lacking in flavor and I wish it had more sauce. The sliders were probably the best! A nice kick of jalapeño, juicy beef, and crispy melted cheese. I honestly may come back just to get more sliders! Our waitress was pretty attentive, and our waters were always filled. Overall, the restaurant is quaint and cozy, and a pretty affordable dinner spot compared to other restaurants nearby. read more

Our server was extremely attentive, but not overbearing. The vibe of the restaurant was casual with a slight upscale feel. The tables and cushioned chairs were very comfortable and the restaurant seemed trendy and modern. We started with the nachos and they were excellent, the half order was just the right size and amount of toppings for two people. They were not too heavy and the homemade chips were great. My partner ordered the ribeye tacos and I ordered the carne asada tacos. Both were delicious with tender steak, however they both could have used a bit more seasoning/sauce on the tacos. The quality of the ingredients seemed very high though. We also ordered a side of esquites which was a cold street corn salad type of dish and it was excellent and a great compliment to our tacos! Our waitress Stephanie L, brought over the water and she noticed that we were not ready to order and said she will be back! That gave us time to order our drinks and apps. The apps, street corn, empanadas , caesars salad and house made guac and chips came out almost immediately after orderings. Everything was fresh! order our tacos , each of us had two tacos and very filling! Good thing we only order two each , we would ended up taking home! The restaurant was very casual nothing to fancy not that noisy! Overall the restaurant was well worth the price of the food. Maybe $$-$$$. Would definitely go there again! Let me preface this by saying that I sent a message to the restaurant with my concerns via their website. I waited a week and did not get any response. I don't do negative reviews without giving the restaurant a chance to respond privately first. I met a friend for lunch on a Thursday. The space looks nice, quite different than it was as B.Good. I was a bit put off by the animal hide chairs, fake or real, it's an icky vibe. They immediately brought ice water to us without asking. I prefer water with no ice, but didn't say anything. They kept those water glasses filled all the time, honestly, it was a bit much and somewhat intrusive. The server was very nice. My friend and I both ordered the Harvest bowl. It was pretty disappointing. First of all, it's not a bowl. It's like a small rectangular dish. It is very small, really not a meal. It's nice that they have a plant-based offering, but it has no protein. Some roasted chick peas would go a long way in terms of protein and texture. It's just a strange combo of very roasted veggies, brown rice, raw cucumbers and tomatoes and a blob of guacamole. It's like someone decided they should have a "healthy" plant-based item on the menu and then threw in all the things they could think of without considering if they really go together. I can get a much better bowl at Sweetgreen or Life Alive for about the same or less money. I really do not understand why it's so hard for restaurants to put together a decent meal for people not eating meat/chicken. Went on a Friday night because we've heard great recommendations about this restaurant out in Wellesley and we're so glad we did! For a busy Friday night, the staff were very attentive. It wasn't loud or too quiet, just perfect for a fun Friday night catching up with friends. Our table had Erin as our server and she was such a sweet friendly staff! Their menu was so impressive! My friends and I went to Lockheart for brunch/lunch. We got the bubble party and two or three tacos each. I liked the steak taco the best, the carnitas and korean brussels sprouts were both a bit soupy but flavors were good. We also tried the PBLT and the birria tacos. We really enjoyed the food and service was pretty quick. The only disappointing thing was that my friend was sitting under a pipe that started leaking water over her. They tried to fix it by wrapping some towels around the leak but it wasn't enough to stop it. They said it was because the sink was being turned on which made us wary that she was getting dripped in dirty dish water. I would avoid sitting along the back wall near the bar on the lower floor in the future. read more

I'm from Texas visiting my mom for the holidays. She recommended Lockheart, as she has eaten here twice before. Made reservation for 8pm on Friday, January 5th. Was immediately seated, although at one of the two round tables in the center of the restaurant. Personal opinion is that the tables were too close together and that the overall ambiance is negatively affected by the very loud music and low booths. Restaurant is not set up for customers to hold a conversation. Ordered the Chorizo and Shrimp Queso as an appetizer. Chips are just as good as any restaurant in San Antonio. Consistency of the queso was off; top was very watery while the bottom of the cast iron pan had cheese that wasn't melted into a "queso". Good portion for two people at $12. Mom ordered the Short Rib Birria and the PBLT tacos. The birria is made with beef short ribs, so buyer beware that this isn't actual birria. The tortilla did not appear to be dipped in the consommé prior to grilling. She enjoyed both tacos regardless. $6.50 for the birria and $6 for the PBLT. I ordered the Brick Chicken plate. Twice the size of what the server said it was. This is a plate you could split between two people, as I was unable to finish it. It's brined half chicken with roasted Brussels sprouts, carrots, sweet potatoes, and potatoes in a pepper herb glaze. Would definitely order again, but ask for the Brussels sprouts to be cooked a tad longer, to have more than a half inch bite of carrot, and for a side of the herb glaze. Seriously flavorful and a great value at $19! Mom had a Michelob Ultra which was brought with a Stella Artois chalice. Average price for a restaurant at $6. I love rye whisky and jump at the opportunity for a Manhattan. Tried the Black Walnut Manhattan for $15. Would order again or find something off of their seasonal menu. Server was hospitable, but did a poor job describing the food items. Mom asked what her favorite taco was and received a response of "they're all my favorite except for the seafood ones, I'm allergic". Manager brought out our food and was just as hospitable. Would love to try this restaurant again during the weeknight when it is less busy. Keep up the hard work guys! read more

I loved being able to pick a few tacos a la carte to try different things but was a big fan of the elotes and nachos. Caprese salad is to die for!
