I would say this place is off to a good start, but room for improvement! The vibe is a little more upscale than Poquitos was, but I found the menus and pricing to be similar. My friends and I went for happy hour and there weren't many people there, but I also don't think they have been fully announced to the community. We got happy hour margaritas, which were good. A few sips in, we realized it was nearing the end of happy hour, so we asked if we could order another round before happy hour ended. The waiter brought them out IMMEDIATELY, while we still had full drinks. I felt like it was pretty clear that we just wanted to get the order in but were in no rush to get the drinks, so this was kind of odd. Also, after 2 margs back to back, I wasn't even slightly buzzed. Not very strong. I got seafood enchiladas and WOW. Some of the best I have ever had. The sauce on them was incredible, I could take a bath in it. Really creamy, but not too heavy. I loved my meal. We had to ask for chip refills a few times. For it not being busy, it felt like the service wasn't super attentive. At the end, we asked for separate checks, which we had established at the beginning of the meal. The guy came back with a pen and went through each item one by one, asking who got what. When we got to guac, we asked to split evenly and he looked like he was going to faint. We decided to give up and just put it on one check. It was WEIRD that he had no idea what we got and that this was the only system for him to split it. He was doing it with a pencil! The food and space is great, but it felt like the staff was all on their first day of serving anyone, ever. I get that they are new, but it feels like nobody we interacted with had ever worked at a restaurant. Hopefully this is just a learning curve and this improves over time. I am not in a rush to get back , but eventually will return to my enchiladas.

Churros- light and crispy and delicious!

Was excited to try Agave, the old Poquitos. Service was fantastic, atmosphere is fun. The bar is beautiful and the menu is plenty. Food is a 3 , liked the large portions and menu options. I'll return. - really enjoyed the flavor of the roasted butternut squash enchiladas. - the calamari was good- lightly fried, large portion - most bites of the ribeye was good, though chewy to the point of needing to be spit out. The asparagus was overcooked (soggy) and I wasn't a fan of the yuca fries but maybe a stronger dipping sauce would change my opinion. They are dense and thick. We'll try something different next time. - the drinks are fun and we liked the cilantro jalepino margarita the best. But they are filled excessively with ice . - the standout are the churros. I oddly don't enjoy churros but these are the best I've ever had. They were light and crispy and amazing!

Wanted to try Agave and I'm so glad we did. Oh my, lovely ambiance, food and service. The place is absolutely beautiful, and huge. They have ample indoor and outdoor seating. We went at an odd time, but assuming they get pretty busy so plan accordingly. They had tons of vegetarian options, and I was so glad. The nachos were served with delicious tomatillo and salsa. SO GOOD! The pineapple juice was so fresh, and the sweet potato fries - perfect! And the show stopper for me was the artichoke tacos. I've never had anything like that, was so well seasoned and delicious, plus the rice on the side was so so good. Overall, some of the best Mexican food I've had and I can't wait to go back. Highly recommend!

Enjoyed a nice lunch with family here a while back. I had the fried cod tacos which, as you can see, were a large portion and very filling. The flavor was okay - nothing amazing. But the service and restaurant itself were both great. Would come back again if in the area.

The food was good, not great. I ordered the harbenaro brussel sprouts with my meal, and those were trash. I had to look up harbenaros just to make sure that I was getting the right thing. They used the green unripe ones for the sauce... and they added raisins and sunflower seeds to it. I had to deduct 1 star for that. We also ordered guac for the table, and it was heavily cut with tomatoes. And not a lick of salt or pepper, lemon/lime juice, or any other spices to spruce it up. I know people disagree with adding seasonings to stuff like guac, but considering that it was heavily cut you needed to do a little something. It was edible, but quite bland. One more star deducted for that. Otherwise, the restaurant was really nice and had a great ambiance.

Birria tacos. The photo does not do it justice. I never thought I would love slaw so much either!

We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Agave's in Bothell. While I loved the look of the former restaurant, I was pleasantly impressed by the subtle changes that added to a warm atmosphere. Our wait staff were attentive and quick to update us on the progress of our meal and checking in on drinks. I didn't take a photo but the cocktails we had were excellent and not watered down like we find is common at a lot of other restaurants. The menu options were perfect - not so much it loses quality, but enough that there were excellent options. I believe it was the manager, who came around to clear plates and asked if we were pleased with our meal - which we were. I have a feeling we will be regulars in no time!

It was unique, balanced, and absolutely delicious--just one of many standout cocktails we tried. Beyond the drinks, the atmosphere was amazing. The bartender was welcoming, generous with his time, and let us sample and explore different flavors. It felt more like a fun experience than just a night out. Not very busy when I went at happy hour/dinner time on a Friday night, but the place is busier later at night on Friday/Saturday during the warmer months. Sometimes they have events and DJs. Sat at the bar and tried out some happy hour specials. Got the Korean sauce wings ($12) and cheese truffle fries ($8). Decent amount of fries, definitely has cheese flavor but not that much truffle oil aroma. I liked the wings which you get 6 per order. They weren't fried, but rather tender and juicy. Sauce was agreeable. Definitely enough food for my dinner. As for the drinks, I got the rosemary mule which is Moscow mule with some rosemary herb. The copper mug they use is good sized. Tasted refreshing although could feel the alcohol afterwards. Also tried a corpse reviver no. 2, which was a little sweet but has a punch. Cocktail prices are not cheap outside of happy hour, in the upper teens. Overall, was glad I tried the place out. Will drop by for happy hour once in a while.

I was about to get fish and chips but was steered toward the Cubano pork sandwich with french fries. My wife got a caesar salad with romaine instead of kale and we decided to try the fried pickles too. No drinks other than water as we had plans afterward. The positives is the location, the atmosphere and they had all the pub fare you would expect. The only thing that dampened the pleasure was everything the fries, the sandwich, the salad, and even the sauces tastes quite salty to me. Definitely a nice place for beer drinking in the bar or outside on the patio during these springtime days. Not sure of the root cause of the over seasoning, but I'll ask for lighter next time.
