I purchased a suit from Dillard's which the pants needed to be hemmed. I needed a one-day turnaround so the salesperson told me about this tailor shop nearby that performs rush jobs. I took two pair of slacks to AG Tailor and I was not wearing my dress shoes that day so I asked for a try-on pair to ensure the pants are hemmed for the correct length. They did not have any extra/try-on shoes to wear so I put on the pants and inform the tailor I wanted a classic, single break. I step up on the platform and the tailor pins my pants and the drape looks nice, but I inform him that the hem needs to be approximately 1/4 inch longer because I was wearing casual shoes. He assured me that he was correct and I was in a rush so I left pants there and picked them up the next day. I pick up said pants and something told me to try them on. I did not look like Steve Urkel, but the pants were hemmed so short I looked like a college kid wearing his first tailored suit showing off his socks at the calf. Needleless to say I was very disappointed in their skill and craftsmanship. Luckily, my suit was black and the event was at night so I had to lower my pants below my waist in order for my pants to drape and break properly. The next day I took them back and had the tailor correct the issue while I was wearing dress shoes. No apology and I had to wait two days for the pants to be done properly. Amazing work. Amazingly nice people. How can they hide the "take in" seams so well? Seriously perfect, as they should be. I recently took a dress and pair of capris to each get taken in in the waist. It took Antonio all of two minutes to pin the excess material on both pieces. I was there in total about five minutes, well, make that just under ten. Have you ever had to slip off a pinned garment? Straight pins tend to bite. I needed the pants for the next evening, but didn't need the dress immediately. I was told I could pick the pants up at 4 o'clock the next day (less than twenty four hours away) and the dress would be ready on four days later. Yes, of course both were ready the next day at 4pm. I almost second-guessed that the work had been done, except for the fact that both fit well. Actually, I just looked for the magical hidden seams again, just to prove a point. Couldn't find them. I can imagine where they should be on the pants, but no evidence. He (or she) had to have taken the waistband piece off and miraculously have used the same thread...or just plain magic. To turn the kind of cute baggy-waisted dress into the super cute summer dress I paid $20. A little pricey for some, but totally worth it to have a cute, yet comfortable pique jersey dress from J Crew. The ultimate versatile dress. My capris were $14. Cute and linen. Linen's great in the summer, however cinched baggy linen waists make me feel as if I were dressed as a Bolshevik in Fiddler on the Roof. All I needed were some boots and the proper hat and top and I could have danced around onstage with Topol and none would have been the wiser. Thankfully the waist is now fitted and I will not be confused with a cast member. As a point of interest, if you need a garment taken out, they can do this for you as well. My mom once took a pair of slacks in to have an altered waist taken out a bit. They apparently took fabric from an under-turned hem and made them once again wearable. So, just something to keep in mind, that favorite dress, skirt, top, pair of pants, or whatever doesn't have to be given away or sold just because it's a little too snug or (one can only hope) too big. It's always worth the extra $14 to have it altered to fit you. So much cheaper and time freeing to just get your unwearable favorite altered. read more

I took a bridesmaid's dress here to be let out in the waist. Both times I was in the store (drop off and pick up), I was helped immediately and the employees were very friendly! Since I was not in a hurry, I did not need same-day service (in fact, I dropped it off on a Saturday and came back the following Saturday). The dress fits fine but was a bit dirty; there are lots of threads and fuzz stuck to it, but nothing damaging to the dress itself. Oveall, I'm happy with my experience here and would go back. I have had multiple garments altered AG tailors over the past year and a half. Overall, the service/quality is just OK. Pricing is decent...not the cheapest, but not the most expensive. Their turnaround time is quick. I mainly went here because they're really close to where I live. I would say their quality of work is 3 stars, but I deducted a star because of their customer service. Their customer service is mediocre, but I've recently had two experiences with them that were very disappointing. In both situations they flat-out DIDN'T CARE to provide good customer service. In one instance a blue splotch (ink?) was on my WHITE dress for my wedding rehearsal dinner and instead of saying "Sorry, we'll clean that" they said "Oh. Maybe it was there before."...didn't offer to clean it. I had to ask them if they could get the stain they caused out (goodness!). For the 2nd bad experience I was 2 DAYS past the 2 week period they have (basically if you aren't happy with the alterations you have 2 weeks to take it back)...they wanted to charge me an additional $20 to fix something that I already paid for to be fixed (originally paid $80). I had been out of town and unable to get to them within the 2 weeks, which I explained. They did not alter it properly in the first place, why should I pay more? I get and respect having policies, but as a business you should be understanding/have some flexibility in certain instances (2 days past, come on!). I will no longer do business with AG Tailors. I will now drive the extra 25 minutes to Montrose and go back to Soon's Tailor (highly recommend). read more

I never thought I would have to write a review like this and it pains me so but I can't overlook the huge screw up that was done on some pants that I went to get shortened. I had previously come here on a family member's recommendation and everything was done so well on a suit that I decided "Hey why not come back here". I brought in about nine pair of pants that needed to be shortened. The lady I dealt with nice enough but seemed inexperienced and nervous(first day on the job? Maybe. Who knows) she measured each of the pants I tried on and put the pins in as needed. I pick them up and stupid me was in a rush and I didn't try on all 9 pants, just tried one that seemed good enough. More than two weeks pass before I realize the rest of them are way to short now and show my socks way too much when I am walking. I go back without a receipt(which I lost. My mistake I know) and ask for a redo, mentioning the issue. She says that I need a receipt for a redo and even if I had it since it was more than 2 weeks I couldn't have it redone. Unless I paid 10 dollars more per pants. Really?? So not only did they screw up but they wanted me to pay to fix THEIR mistake. The person at front wasn't even sympathetic to my cause just wanted me to pay again. I don't know if it was the owner or not but that's terrible customer service. I took a huge issue with that. I understand I didn't have a receipt and it's their policy but come on that's not the way to run a business on some technicality that allows them to get away with their mistake. I would of been happy to give them all my future business if they fixed this problem but the lady at the front was not willing to cut me a break hence I do not plan on ever coming back here again for anything. It's a shame they did such an outstanding job the first time more than I can say here. But this does it for me. I rather pay more somewhere else than give them my hard earned money again. Come here at your own risk they do good work but if something slips through and you don't notice it soon enough they won't fix it for you. They DESTROYED my wedding gown. And I mean destroyed. I brought in a beautiful, simple white satin gown and over the course of a month they turned it into a Frankenstein dress. Each time I went in the dress got progressively worse. The seams were not straight nor evenly placed and highly visible, the waist buckled like a muffin top, the boning was in the wrong places and sticking out, my boobs created a cliff with a strong ripple in the fabric (still there after being steamed), one boob actually looked like it ended an inch below the other, my boobs poofed out the top like I was wearing a Renaissance bustier, they stained it, the buttons in the back were no longer centered in my back, and there was a large ripple on one side of my butt. Not exactly a look any bride wants. They requested two weeks to do the alterations. When I went in to try it on the first time, the dress looked great except the boning was sticking out almost an inch from my boobs and there was a stain. They said they needed one week to fix it. One week later I go in at the scheduled time and was told just a moment to wait so they could steam it. 45 minutes later they brought out my dress. I seriously doubt they were steaming it. I think they quickly finished up when I got there. There were big wrinkles in the dress and the stain was still there. This is also the beginning of the dress' transformation into the Frankenstein form. The waist was buckling in two places, only one of the boobs boning was correct, the buttons in the back were straight but not in the center of my back anymore, and the dress seemed very heavy too. They said they needed another week to fix it which at this point was not an option as the wedding was just a week and a half away. So they said three days, which was yesterday. Yesterday morning I went in and was told it was not ready and to come back in the afternoon. So I went back yesterday afternoon and was shocked. The dress was actually worse! All the problems from the weeks before were still there AND there were new problems. The dress no longer fit. They had taken it in even though that was not requested. I could not move in it. The entire waistline was higher than it was originally, much much tighter and it buckled all around as if we had flashed back to the '80s and still bloused out tucked in shirts. The ripple on half my butt was even more pronounced. The stain was still there. And the bodice was so crooked and cut into my boobs at the top creating the Renaissance look. Not flattering. Also they said they were going to add hooks to the back to ensure my strapless bra would never show. The hooks were never added even though each time I was there I reminded them of the hooks they suggested! Being that it is a satin dress it cannot be let out again as the previous seams will show. Not to mention it was not symmetrical anymore. Each panel of the bodice was different. Perhaps thats why the buttons in the back were no longer centered. When I told them they had ruined my dress they simply walked away from me into the back room just leaving me there in the Frankenstein dress with my Maid of Honor. My fiancé had to handle the problem for me. They wouldn't talk with me about their poor handiwork but thankfully he was able to get us a refund for the dress after threatening to file with the BBB and take them to small claims court. I still may file with the BBB but at least we have been refunded the cost of the dress. So now I have 10 days to find another dress and have it altered. read more

I can tell you, they may not be the cheapest for alterations, but they do good work - fast! I can't even tell you how often I have purchased a pair of pants or a suit from a department store and they messed up the alterations. I was lucky enough to have a friend refer me to Antonio when I was in a bind. I had an event for work and the suit I just purchased need some alteration work that I needed the same day. It's really unbelievable that they were able to hem, let out the pants and alter the jacket in 3 hours! I don't know too many place that would do that and the work was top notch. Since then, I send everything over to AG Taylors and that has been quite a lot over the past 6 months. If you are looking for work done right - give AG Taylors a try! read more

I genuinely wanted to like this place. They came highly recommended. Despite reviews. I tried. My husband and son both got shirts done, no problem. Wedding dress: Came in on a Monday. They pinned everything. It was perfect. Assured me it'd. Be ready Friday and just as discussed. Friday when I'm getting ready to head to them, I get a call saying it will be ready but not until 6:45..... They close at 7. Get there. The dress is not finish... They say try it on first and then after they will finish everything and close it up..... Try on the dress and it does not fit correctly. The whatever that was supposed to be placed in the bust area is too small and a flimsy plastic nothing. Clearly NOT WIRE The zipper is not complete. So how can I see how it will truly fit. Tailor comes out. Says once he does zipper it will lay perfect and now adds suggestions for the bra area. Which should be right. I go take the dress off and change back in to my clothes so that I can give them the wedding dress so he can finish correcting it. She tries to convince me to come back tomorrow. Despite me already telling them I can't come on Saturday. You know what. I decide to bite the bullet and just take the dress as is. Told them to just put it to how it should be and let me go. Finish the zipper. Take out all the pins. Let me go. We agree. No more changes. Bra not the best. But you can take it once we finalize it. After 20 minutes, my dress is presented to me at the counter in the bag I brought it in. Naturally, I start to inspect........ They haven't seen my train back on correctly!!!! What the Frack!?!? MY JEWELS THAT I PAID the designer EXTRA FOR TO ADD FOR ME are MISSING!!!!! The girl then starts to tell me that that is the way my dress is made.................. After fully breaking it down for her, he took it back and is supposedly fixing my dress AGAIN. read more

If you enjoy getting basic garments ruined by of poor work and having to take time out of your day to come back another time to pick up your altered clothes because they messed up the first time, this place is for you--not to mention if you like to see the pricing change arbitrarily. I've taken about a dozen of the same type of pant in different colors to this place over the course of four trips. The first time, hemming and tapering was $20/pair. The turn around time was mediocre, but I figured it to be OK considering the price. The second time I went, the price was $25/pair, same turnaround. The third and fourth times, the price went up to $30 and $35 for each pair. One pair has been ruined by them performing a pant leg taper that even the most novice tailor should be ashamed of. The last two times, I've had to go back a second time because they do the hem incorrectly despite having a sample of the EXACT SAME style of pant in the EXACT SAME size to base their work off of...a sample that THEY DID. I know most tailors are gypsies with the pricing and will rip you off when they see an opportunity, and AG Tailor is no different. This most recent batch I took to them will be my LAST. Highly NOT recommended to anybody who has even the slightest scintilla of care for decent service and tailoring. read more

I've actually been going to these tailors for a few years now. I've always found that they had reasonable prices and a fairly efficient business. Recently, I dropped off a brand new suit jacket for a simple alteration to the arm length. When I came to pick up the jacket two days later, they seemed to have no idea where the jacket was. They tried to make me believe that the seamstress wasn't finished and then they told me they misplaced it, and after that they said maybe they gave it to another customer. Ultimately, they lost it or it was stolen by one of their employees. I was very frustrated by their unapologetic way of handling the situation and their lack of professionalism. As a frequent customer who has brought them numerous clients I expected them to put in a little more effort into actually trying to asses the situation or at the very least an apology. They eventually reimbursed me after I showed them the receipt from only two days prior and made clear why I was frustrated. I would have recommended this place in the past, but recently I was starting to notice some inconsistencies in their operations. I would never trust a company that makes such an obvious screw up and I would warn others to proceed with caution. You wouldn't trust a valet driver who clearly put 50 miles on your car while you're at dinner! read more

Have come here several times and have been happy with quality and quick turn around. However, had a suit's arms shortened and had no reason to wear for a couple of months. I went to wear the suit and realized the arms were totally different lengths. I was charged again as it had been more than two weeks. No willingness to take responsibility for mistake. The work they did on my suits was AMAZING! Over the past year I dropped some weight and they were able to bring down my size 46 suits down to a 42! I was prepared to give them away but the job they did was immaculate, as if they were made for me. Since then I have taken my shirts as well as my jeans, the original hem was great.
