The quality of the work is not great and also the prices have increased and provided are not consistent.

Soon used to do a great job, but she moved back to China and left it with her sister. She's definitely not as good and not nearly as friendly or nice. I've tried to give it a go for the past year, but she is way overpriced (more so than before with Soon, but Soon did a great job), and the straw that broke the camel's back was the last alteration. Not only did I not know the price beforehand, but she was angry that the first alteration was not right. I will find a new place for my next dress. read more

I went to this alteration shop to have a dress and 2 pairs of scrub pants altered. My clothes were altered but I was extremely alarmed when she told me the price of my alterations. The work is good but they are very overpriced. For my 3 garments I paid $180. I paid more for the alterations for each piece than for the actual garments. I will definitely be looking for a new alteration shop with more reasonable prices. read more

The seem-tress with the very short grey hair was extremely unprofessional and inpatient. I have visited this location before and she over charged us this time around. I even had to ask her not be rude toward my elderly mother who was questioning whether she should adjust the waist. She didn't like the fact that my mother asked her to adjust it twice. Is that not why we are here? To gauge whether the waist line should be adjusted to her liking. That is what you are being paid for. Not paying you the have an attitude towards your customers. It seems like she picks and chooses whom to bully. This shop is in the river oaks district, so I am sure she doesn't treat the locals this way.. read more

I went to Soon for the first time a couple weeks ago. I brought in some jeans to be hemmed that I needed in time for Rodeo Cook Off :). I was a little nervous about them because they are very flared, bell bottom jeans with a raw frayed hem. Also nervous because they were very expensive jeans. I needed them shorter but wanted to keep the original raw frayed hem. I tried them on for Soon, she measured and pinned and showed me what they would look like, assuring me the original hem would remain. Went back a few days later, tried them on, they were perfect. Just the right length, frayed hem. So happy with the product and service! Soon is the sweetest lady! I will continue to go to Soon for all my tailoring needs. :) read more

The work is good but prices are unreasonable. They also avoid telling you how much something is going to cost up front, then you pick it up and can't believe what they're charging you. Asked them to repair a hem on a shirt. Just a few stitches cost me $8 read more

A friend recommended Soon, so I took 2 dresses there to get altered. 1 was just hemmed , and a bead repair. The other taken in all over. The older seamstress was very sweet and friendly. I tried on each dress, she made the pin marks, and I was done. After reading a few of the 'pricey' reviews, I probably should have asked how much before I left, but I didn't. The 1st dress getting hemmed/repaired was $35. She said it was because a lot of the beads started falling off, when she was repairing one. The other dress was $24 (taken in in a few places). So $59 total. I guess that's a little high, but she did a great job, had them ready when I needed them, and was friendly. read more

DO NOT go here! I initially came here as I read reviews of realistic pricing. I only did a hem and take in for my dress and was charged more than the actual dress itself. I tried to dispute the pricing with the owner since it did not seem realistic, but she was unable help in any way, which therefore left me with an overpriced alteration. read more

Soon is the best! I have been taking things to her for about a year and am always pleased with the results. She gets items back the next day when it is just a hem or less than a week for a formal dress. I have even had her tell me the piece really doesn't need alteration and I should wash it first and she was right! My ex from over a year ago brought my favorite pair of slacks here early last year with a huge tear in it. Miss Soon repaired the tear promptly and there my slacks sat....for over a year. The ex-GF and I had long broken up and Miss Soon tracked me down. She held the pants for me and I just finally got them back yesterday. Ms. Soon is amazing!!! I have an Oscar de la Renta gown from the 70's and LOVE the fabric but hate the dated, puffy shoulders style. I took it to another tailor to have it made into a strapless dress and they told me it would be impossible for them to do and that the dress would have to be totally remade and it would be expensive. I almost gave up, but decided to pop in here on my way home. Ms. Soon knew exactly what I wanted and was able to do it quickly for a GREAT price!! I'm so happy I decided to give this place a try. I went here on whim to get my wife's pant's hemmed. It's down the street from my house and I didn't feel like driving through traffic to go to my usual tailor. To begin, the owner BARELY speaks any English. Sure, in person we were able to tell her what we wanted but if any problems arise, good luck. This brings me to the second issue. We picked up my wife's pants when they were ready and 2 days later when my wife went to try them on, we realized she gave us someone else's pants. When we went back to the shop it turns out they gave our pants to someone else as well. She was able to track them down for us a day later and get them back. Needless to say it was a huge and unwanted hassle. Did they offer us a free hem or a discount or anything? Nope. Just a "oh sorry". What a wonderful first experience. They aren't cheap and their service appears to seriously lacking. We won't be going back ever again. read more
