*****Update**** I took my pants back to be sewn because they were not done correctly the first time. The older male, I'm assuming he's the owner said to me "well maybe it's your body that's crooked" I could not believe he had the audacity to blame me and not accept accountability for his actions. I said "no maybe it's your hands because you actually didn't do the work correctly". I picked my pants up about a week later and he didn't greet me much less wanted to make eye contact with me. I will never have anything altered at this establishment ever again. ************************************ Just noticed the items they sewed are uneven. Now I have to go back. This is very inconvenient for me. Not to mention it's coming undone. Ugh! I'll be back soon. read more

Do not bring your suits here. Went in to get a suit tailored. When getting the suit sleeves taken care of I told them I wanted some cuff to show. With suits and showing cuff that is between a 1/4-1/2 inch. When I picked up the jacket I addressed the concern of the suit sleeves being taken up too much. The response I received was "you said you wanted cuff to show" and "it's normal" followed by him walking away. Now I am left with a suit where the whole cuff is showing past the suit sleeves. read more

service was quick, productive, quality and well priced. happy to recommend to anyone!

I took my wedding dress here and they did such a great job. They had a quick turnaround and I even had to take it back for one more minor adjustment. They didn't charge me again for the adjustment and were quick. I'll definitely make this place my regular tailors! read more

Brought 2 pairs of pants in for a simple hem. Was quoted a price. Went to pick up and was told that was the pricer PER item, not the total. Terribly overpriced for simple alteration. And had to wait a week for it. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

Could not boast about this place more... They've helped me in a pinch multiple times with such ease! Not only have they consistently provided me with great results, but also at such great price points. This is the only place I'll go for all alteration needs and will continue to refer, as this is the BEST in Houston! read more

Expensive pair of pants to be altered. Their work is only second rate and their pricing is outrageous. I will pay top dollar for excellent work any time, but this place is a complete joke. read more

After trying on the top, it completely fell apart. I went to the store and requested a refund and they obliged. read more

A Blue Seam - $15 is steep price for this small amount of work. Plus it looks like it will unravel after one wash - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Houston, Texas

If I could give no stars I would. I took them an expensive piece of upholstery fabric that I asked them to cut to 48x38, sew a channel all the way around, run the elastic through the channel & sew it shut. they butchered the fabric, cut it in many pieces, did not use my elastic, they stole it. There is ribbing on 2.5 sides of it of it and the rest of the cover has none. They tried to sew all the pieces back together which put seams where none should be, then used a cheap .99 cent elastic that will never survive a washing. Then add that the cover is far too big. This was a simple fast job, there was never a need to cut it into pieces and it can't be fixed. They did a Frankenstein job on costly upholstery fabric & called me picky for being upset. I would take nothing to them & I am withholding payment to them. I need to add that they spoke English only when it suited their need to do so. read more

Have brought multiple bridesmaid dresses here to get hemmed or taken in, he makes them fit like a glove every time! A blue seam is my new go to alteration place! read more

Awesome services and affordable! Highly recommend to others in the Heights area. Alfonso is awesome!

The previous owner did amazing work on my alterations for several years over the course of a few years. When someone took over I thought I would give it a chance. What a disappointment! I brought 4 items. They ruined a skirt that they replaced the elastic belt on - back side 2 inches shorter than front and unwearable. 2 of the pants seam that were coming off came off within 3 weeks. Clearly sub-par work all around. I won't go back. read more

Best service I've ever received in Houston for alterations. Ms. Veronique and her team are friendly, professional and do outstanding, quality work. Also, prices are super fair for the Heights area, and the turn around time is efficient. I've gotten vintage Levi's shorts, a suede leather jacket, and a bridesmaids dress (just to name a few), altered there and each time I'm never disappointed. I'm 5'1.5" so finding A Blue Seam for my tailoring needs has been a blessing! Highly recommend. read more

This was a simple skirt raise. They got it done quickly and reasonably priced. I'll be back.

I'll post updated photos after the wedding- but these will do for now! read more

Two years late oops but they did such a great job with my wedding dress. So helpful with some creative alterations - I felt like a princess!

Were quick and reasonably priced on a dress tailor job for a wedding that I left for last minute! Great customer service!

My daughter needed her prom dress hemmed and they did a great job! We walked in and they were very prompt and helpful.

I'm petite and need everything hemmed. I've been bringing all of my clothes here for tailoring and am so happy with the quality. When I needed a quick turnaround on a pant hem for a recent upcoming trip, they saved the day and were super accommodating. You can definitely trust them and know your garments are in great hands! read more

Alfonzo and team do great work. I've brought in at least 5 garments to be tailored and all were executed perfectly on the first run with quick turn around. Alterations ranging from hemming to complete reconstruction of a jumpsuit into a dress. They are reasonably priced. They even saved the day with a creative solution to fixing my wedding dress just two days before my wedding! Highly recommend. read more

This tailor absolutely saved me. I had to alter a bridesmaid jumpsuit I was certain I'd end up disliking no matter what, and they turned it into something I'm excited to wear! They even added pockets that are absolutely seamless, and feel like they were part of the original garment! So kind and so affordable, and the turnaround was only a week! Highly recommend. read more

Everything done here was fantastic. My clothes came out great and well fitted. There was great communication and professionalism too. It's hard to find someone who can alter your clothes correctly so it was nice to find this gem in my neighborhood and with such great service. Being small and short means pretty much everything has to get hemmed. I will be back! read more

Veronique is AMAZING and honest. I brought in my jumpsuit to be altered and I wanted it shorter but she suggested I should go a lil longer though keep the shape-glad I did. I also brought a custom made bench cushion that needed a new cover. She did an amazing job and even suggested that she can try and use the zipper so I can save $! I really appreciated that. She's also a dog lover! Even invited me to bring my big dog so he wouldn't be alone in the car! I will definitely be going back. Fynn loves his new sitting cushion read more

Veronique is awesome awesome awesome. Lemme tell you why. I went to her shop about 20 min before closing (I was running a bunch of errands). Bringing in four suits was quite a load! Veronique helped me figure out each suit's needs and also why it had to be tailored that way. She has very reasonable prices as well. She also provided a lot of advice on clothing - what types of clothing to wear underneath each suit, what types of shoes, etc. Very very helpful. Highly recommend it!!! read more

Wow, Veronique blew me away from start to finish at her little store on Yale. I'd been on the hunt for someone in the area, and stumbled upon her shop on Yelp. Boy was I glad I did! I took her four dresses to alter and she did a phenomenal job with each one. She turned them around in about a week, was incredibly thorough, and each dress looks SO much better now that she's worked with it. Not only will I return for the quality, but she is a joy to work with. You can tell she's passionate about what she does. She's kind, makes you feel comfortable, and really is just incredible. Highly, highly recommend! read more

Veronique is an amazing stylist, up to any challenge. I like to buy my own fabrics (especially silks) and she will design tops, dresses or pants that fit me perfectly, for a reasonable price. There is also a large selection of fabrics at her store. Veronique's work is top quality and she will pay attention to details. I also give her all my alterations, as I know she will do a perfect job. She can handle complex alterations, including adjusting the design. It is a pleasure to interact with Veronique as we discuss changes, styles or designs - I do not like to be too prescriptive and I trust that the result will surprise me and far exceed my expectations. read more

I am very pleased with the work of Blue Seam. They are timely, professional, and the prices are good. I had been looking for a tailor for years, I finally made the decision to take my garments to Blue Seam and I am glad I did. read more

Very high quality work, expert advice, great customer service. My wife and I have had many garments altered by Veronique...dress trousers, casual chinos, two dresses, jeans, a trench coat, and advice on a suit tailored by someone else. She is not inexpensive, but the quality of the results and the confidence of having clothing that you know fits properly is worth the price. read more

I'm very particular about my stuff and have tried probably 4 different tailors in Houston. These guys get it done right.

Amazing service! Attention to detail! I highly recommend this business! The owner is very nice and attentive!

I looked all over for a great seamstress and also someone to design a jumpsuit for a wedding. I found A Blue Seam and my jumpsuit turned out gorgeous. It was better than I could have imagined. I described what I wanted and she designed it better than I expected. I have been back several times for alterations and also sent my son, brother, and a friend. Veronique is great at what she does and she has a fabulous personality. This was absolutely the best experience I've had with any tailor or seamstress. Amazing work!! read more

Oh my god. This place is amazing. I had to get my bridesmaids dress altered and they did a PHENOMENAL job. Prior to this i had lost about 3 inches on my waist, and no one would take the dress in that much, but then I found A Blue Seam, and they took it in, no questions. It looks absolutely beautiful with no additional seam lines or snags, it's perfect. AND they did it in a week with no additional rush charge. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend. read more
