The guys did tons of work and overall I am happy with the service. But: -Before the arrival the owner notified the techs will be 1hr late - which is OK but it will be nice if they can give more notice than a 1hr prior to arrival. - When discharging the Freon they had leaked it out all over it was a half-dosen ofpuffs to the air and they were not able to discharge it all completely and saying: "There is air coming out of your system" while it was a smell of the Freon all over. So when re-charging they said that my AC is very low on the Freon and offered to add their freon at additional cost of more than $150/lbs. and it was like about 7lbs needed. Do the calculation. I refused. I can top off and get the freon elsewhere way less expensive. -My AC had 2 valves that weren't leaking. It was no reasons to taking both out and then say: "your valves are leaking". They replaced one and when I checked and said that the second is leaking a little too they said: "It's a $50 per valve". On the top of $900 for the service and another $100 they asked for extra work I had asked to weld a piece copper pipe again which I tried to straighten up and heard a snap. So I agreed for another $50 for both valves. Because of no other choice like if I don't agree to replace the second valve the system will be leaking the Freon and then what? Overall: these guys do a very good job but they looking to make some extra $$ on the top of the price which is already a lot ($1K only for the labor in my case). read more

They were punctual to the first appointment and found that the problem was bigger than expected, so they had to get some extra parts and come back again. They were very punctual again and only charged me for the parts. I felt like it was a very fair deal, and the repair looks great. I'll be using them for servicing every six months now. read more

Really disappointed to have to change this to a negative review. I reached out to the owner Antonio multiple times first but no one is replying. Technician Mike is still awesome and I highly recommend him; he patiently answered all my layperson questions and led a crew to get a complex and difficult job done. However, I have problems with the way I was treated by the owner Antonio. After finding that both my compressor was dead and my freon line had a leak, they proposed replacing the compressor unit (on the roof), testing the freon line, and if the leak could not be located or fixed, moving the compressor to the yard. I was quoted for all this and agreed to it, spending over $4K for the compressor itself. It was installed and tested, the freon line was tested and leak could not be found, so we moved on with the "plan B" to move the compressor to the yard, for which I was previously quoted. However this quote did not turn out to be right: I was then told to install a high-voltage electric line, at a cost of almost $1K. I was told to hire someone else open up the drywall in my ceiling, another several hundred dollars. No one had measured the width of my yard path (I finally did), and it turns out the compressor didn't actually fit along the path, so another $500 or so to hire another guy to move it. But the kicker is that once this was pointed out, and I balked at the extra charge and delay (from having to find another worker), owner Antonio told me there was a slimmer model of compressor that both would have fit in the yard *and* cost $2,000 less than the one I bought, but no offer to let me exchange even though the new unit was hardly used. Why wasn't I told of this alternative when I was buying the compressor? $2,000 savings would have been great even separate from the yard fit (and this unit only has to cool about 600 sqft so capacity should not be an issue). Antonio also told me when I complained about the price increase that I was "free to start over with someone else", which was disappointing to hear at being almost $5,000 in with his company. I will say that Antonio sent Mike out more than once free of charge to do various testing before proceeding with the larger parts of the project, which I do appreciate. But I don't think the value of those visits add up to the amount I feel I overpaid on the compressor and unnecessary labor. Even after all this, I had an AC issue at another property that I was willing to trust AG with since their techs clearly know what they're doing, but he stopped returning my calls and texts. He also didn't reply to me asking the above question about why I wasn't presented with the option of the cheaper compressor from the start. Finally, I requested any type of invoice or receipt for the over $6,000 I spent, both for tax records and to apply for government rebates for the HVAC, and that was also ignored - all I have are my cancelled checks. Lastly, I don't like to just leave a negative review but my efforts to have Antonio answer my questions instead were ignored for the past 2 weeks. read more

After much searching and soliciting bids from 3 different companies, we finally hired Antonio Gonzalez's company, AG Heating & Cooling. We selected Bryant 16 SEER 4-ton compressor and a Bryant 5-ton 2 speed furnace. Antonio's installers, Mike and Manny, did an excellent job installing and hooking up the furnace to our newly installed chimney liner system, which is now required by code. Our old furnace vented directly to the brick chimney, but newer furnaces burn hotter and a liner is required to prevent fire danger. Mike and Manny installed the AC compressor and coil system, connecting them with new copper supply and return lines, pressure testing and reinstalling the condensate pump and humidifier. They tested all systems, and tho furnace is not fully tested by running for a period of time, AG provides free service for the first year, so I am sure they will make any adjustments needed in a timely manner. Our old system ran on Freon, so I feel better having a system that will not harm the environment. I highly recommend AG Heating & AC to handle your upgrade. Antonio is patient explaining systems, and patient with difficult customers like me, who have a lot of questions and requests for changes, and new bids as I sought to get the best equipment for a reasonable cost. Overall professional staff to work with when I had them come by a few months ago for an HVAC inspection. The employee came on time and was thorough with the inspection, letting me know exactly what needed to be done. They provided a quote quickly for a p-trap replacement and blower wheel cleaning and I was able to schedule the job a few weeks later per my request. The job was done very well and they even let me inspect the work before they completed it and put the parts back together. The only reason why I'm giving them 4 stars is because I wish they were a little more clear about the time of the appointment. They scheduled me for 6-7 pm for a particular day and I had plans to leave the house by 7:15 pm for a prior engagement. The employee showed about 10 minutes before 7 pm to do a job that lasted for over an hour. Apparently 6-7 pm is just the time they arrive. I wish it was more clear so I could have made adjustments to my plans. Needless to say, I missed the event I was supposed to go to but my HVAC is working perfectly! I just had a great experience with AG Heating & Cooling today. My HVAC was no longer cooling my apartment and sent a message/request on Yelp on Tuesday night and received a response within minutes. The owner was able to schedule a tech to come out on Thursday morning, all through the yelp app. I got a message in the morning that the tech (Mike) was on the way, and he arrived during the scheduled window and worked quickly. After taking a look at the vents and unit in the apt, he went to the roof where the HVAC unit is located to diagnose the problem. Once he figured out the issue, the capacitor needed to be replaced, he called me to let me know what was wrong, told me how much it would cost to replace, and that he had one in his truck. I agreed to the replacement, and once he was done, he also identified that the refrigerant level was low, and explained that although the system would work, it could lead to issues in the near future without a recharge. He told me how much it would cost to refill, and I went ahead with the refill. After that was complete he came back to the apt to test the temperature. Whenever he came into my apt he put on shoe covers and was professional and friendly. He showed me pictures of the reading that he had taken before and after replacement and recharging. The overall cost was exactly what he said it would be earlier, no additional fees or surcharges. This was my first time having an issue with my HVAC, and based on my experience today, I highly recommend this company, and I'm very glad I found a reliable company for future maintenance. read more
