Found this company by doing a search on Yelp. They were the first to respond to my request, and the lowest cost operator. I had to wait a couple of days for a technician, but that wasn't an issue because this was primarily a yearly AC unit check up. The technician was terrific - very polite, took care to put on booties and mask, and then was very informative throughout the service call. He pointed out things I could be doing to improve the operation of my system, and showed me how to do basic maintenance tasks and explained why they would be helpful. I've never had a more thorough HVAC maintenance call. It makes me wonder what other companies did not do during their visits. Antonio was here 45 minutes and charged exactly what they said they would charge when I first contacted the company - no upselling, no hidden fees, etc. I thought he was very honest and knowledgeable, and I plan to contact AG Heating & Cooling the next time I need service on my HVAC system. When our AC broke down someone else told us repairs would cost nearly as much as a full system replacement. However, we didn't feel like this was quite right and the idea of replacing a system that was probably only 7 years old didn't sit well with us. So, we contacted AG Heating & Cooling and they showed up that day. Mike provided a thorough diagnostic, explaining what was going on and what he was doing to troubleshoot. My AC wasn't working properly. I called AG Heating & Cooling on Monday. Spoke with Antonio and was scheduled for a diagnostic test at 2 p.m. the next day. To my surprise (Mike) the expert technician arrived at the said time 2 p.m. Mike was very patient and explained what needed to be done & he informed me that I would receive an estimate. Antonio sent an estimate within 15 to 30 minutes. I accepted and was scheduled for AC replacement the next day! Mike & one other technician arrived the next morning to replace my AC unit. Honest and trustworthy company. Prior to AG coming out, I had another company out that was cooking up a large bill, claiming that coils were leaking and needed to be replaced, etc. I had Mike from AG out and he said that the coils were dirty and he could clean them, but it wasn't fully necessary. He recommended using a green liquid to seal any holes and identify any larger leaks that needed to be addressed (no large leaks were found). He sent me useful videos of my rooftop AC package and explained what I was looking at and what was considered good/bad. Really communicative, nice guy. I will be making this my annual tune-up company and continue to work with Mike. read more

Contacted them. Super nice and knowledgeable technician came out but it turns out they don't work on zoned systems with electronic dampers. Disappointing to make all the time for the appointment and have them unable to find the part and do the work. They might be great for older systems but if you have A/C installed in the last 10 -15 years would recommend someone who has experience working with those systems. Just to clarify the zone damper part that couldn't be found or worked on is a Honeywell M847D Zone actuator coupled with a Honeywell ZD damper. Hope this helps! read more

I needed one of my two HVAC units (Comfortmaker N4A318AKB300) fixed as it suddenly stopped cooling the upper floors of my house. Antonio responded very promptly to my posting on Yelp and was able to have his technician Michael come the very same day. Mike arrived on time and was very friendly and courteous. I showed him the problem and he checked out the system and told me what the issues were. He even had me look at his gauges and readings, explained them in detail, and demonstrated what specs were off, versus what was posted as the manufacturer's standard on the unit itself. The cooling had stopped due to a leak and a dead battery - he replaced the battery, sealed the leak, then refilled the unit with coolant. He also examined my other unit at my request - that one was not leaking, etc., but the level of coolant was low compared to the standard, so he filled that one up too. While I am not an expert, the price seemed reasonable and there was no charge just for showing up - only for the repairs performed. The prompt and detailed service was worth what I paid. Easy payment transaction with Venmo too. There was no hard upsell of anything and everything was demonstrated clearly and technically, which was great. I recommend AG Heating & Cooling and would use them again. read more

I found them on Yelp and they have 5 star review. Sent them a msg. They are the only one who doesn't charge a fee to come out to do diagnostic service. I made the appointment next day. They sent a technician next day. Seems our AC needs to add Freon. He told me how much per lbs and I need 2and half lbs. tech is a very young man and very nice. I am very happy about their service. They made the whole process super easy and we're very thorough throughout the entire encounter. Starting with messaging them on Yelp asking for a quote for routine maintenance check, they gave me an exact cost and actually detailed out everything they'd do in the Yelp message. Next with scheduling, it was completely non-emergent, but they were able to come that same day and were very prompt. He came right at the end of the quoted time window, but that's alright. He wore a mask and shoe covers indoors (and I think kept the mask on for the outdoors parts). Clean and professional. Probably the part I was most appreciative of was that he took the time to explain everything he did and showed me what to look out for. No gimmicks, no added costs. Antonio was responsive and able to quickly dispatch a team to resolve my issue (replacing a solenoid switching valve on a heat pump). Pricing was competitive (for NOVA - about 50% higher than most of the country) and the team seems to have done good work. However, I was concerned that there suddenly seemed to be multiple unexpected issues with my system, and the follow-up after the visit was lacking (more details below). After repairing the solenoid, the technicians reported two other issues while on-site. One was that my thermostat was broken. This seemed odd since it wasn't that old, but I suppose it happens. The quoted charge to replace it was high, so I declined and did it myself. Technicians also reported an issue with the blower throughput. Very surprising that there was not one, but three things wrong with my relatively young HVAC system. This might have all been coincidence, or maybe one issue caused the other two to break, but it felt like a lot. Anyhow, the technicians said they couldn't do anything about the blower on that visit, so they would have someone reach out to me about scheduling a routine maintenance check on the system. Felt odd that they didn't just do that as part of the overall (quite expensive) repair, but fine. However, they never contacted me again. I even followed up online and via phone - but didn't hear anything. read more

I don't have enough words to recommend AG Heating & Cooling. My Cropp Metcalf covered by - what I learned was a crap warranty policy - HVAC system failed - again. They sent their "technician" - and I use the word loosely - to service the unit, and he claimed the compressor and fan were kaput. He also said I had no Freon. Bottom line - I was told I needed a brand new system. I went on Yelp to find a company that could at least give me a 2nd opinion, and the next AM, kind and personable Mr. Troy Bakker called and said he could be out shortly. He came out, did some checking, went down to his truck for a part, and while I was sitting under a fan, I noticed it was cooler. The AC was back on. It was the capacitor - a part that has been replaced by Crap Metcalf several times. AG Heating & Cooling are professional, knowledgeable, and HONEST. Mr. Bakker was a Godsend to me.
