chose AG Heating Cooling Duct Cleaning in 2025 because their quote was cheaper than other companies. I paid approximately $7,900 for the installation of a new Trane HVAC system. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a very expensive mistake. The Trane air conditioning system they installed had refrigerant leaks from the very beginning due to poor installation workmanship. The company promised a one-year warranty and service support, but they never came to inspect the system despite multiple requests. Because we have another HVAC unit serving the attic and the outdoor temperatures were not extremely high for much of the year, we did not realize there was a problem until the summer of 2026, when the weather became much hotter. At that point, we discovered that the newly installed system had essentially lost all of its refrigerant and was barely providing any cooling. After contacting AG again, they finally came out but charged additional fees for leak detection. Even after charging for diagnostics, they were unable to identify any leaks. Instead, they attempted to sell me an additional "leak sealant" service for approximately $395, which I declined. I then hired another HVAC company. They were able to quickly locate two refrigerant leaks, both at the original brazed joints installed by AG. These leaks were found directly at the installation connections and strongly suggest poor workmanship during the original installation. After I provided this information and evidence to AG, the company stopped responding entirely and ignored all further communications. As a result of the prolonged refrigerant loss, I am now concerned that the compressor may also have suffered damage from operating under low refrigerant conditions. I strongly recommend that homeowners carefully consider other HVAC contractors before hiring this company. A lower initial price is not worth poor workmanship, lack of warranty support, unnecessary additional charges, and being abandoned when serious installation problems are discovered. Extremely disappointed with the installation quality, customer service, and accountability. I have photos, videos, and leak test results confirming that the leaks originated from the original installation joints. Please think carefully before trusting this company with a major HVAC installation. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This response does not address the actual facts. I requested an inspection only two months after installation because I was concerned the system was not operating properly. The company refused to come out. Less than one year after installation, the system had lost essentially all of its refrigerant. After AG charged me $220 for leak detection and failed to locate the leaks, another licensed HVAC company found two leaks at the original brazed joints installed by AG. These were installation-related leaks, not "third-party errors." No third party had worked on or altered those joints before the leaks were discovered. The company later offered to refund the $220 leak-detection fee if I deleted my review. I refused. Instead of accusing the customer of intimidation, the company should explain why a newly installed system lost its refrigerant, why it refused to inspect the system when first contacted, and why another company was able to quickly find two leaks at AG's original brazed connections. read more

Requested an estimate on an outside A/C unit that had stopped working. They sent someone out quickly. Only took a quick look at the unit and wasn't clear on what part needed to be replaced. Had to call and ask to clarify. Price was several hundred higher than another company's estimate for the same part in addition to another part and refrigerant. Did not use them for our A/C repair. Unfortunately, the system is not working properly this year, and I have had a very difficult time getting any response from the company. I have tried reaching out multiple ways, including email, Yelp message, phone call, voicemail, and text message, but have not received a response. I understand companies get busy, but when a recently installed HVAC system has an issue, I would expect some level of follow-up, especially if warranty service may be involved. Based on my experience, I am disappointed with the lack of communication after the installation. The initial work may have been completed, but the lack of response when a problem came up has made it difficult to recommend them. read more

REVIEW UPDATED: AG Heating and Cooling was initially responsive and offered a low price on a quality water heater back in December 2025, when my water heater broke. Everything seemed to be working well. However, the work they conducted included the use of a substandard part which recently failed, and the improper installation of the expansion tank. While they offered me a very good warranty on parts and labor, as they are no longer operating their business, I cannot hold them accountable for the substandard work. I understand they've had to close their business for family reasons, and I'm sympathetic to why they can't fulfill their warranty, it does not change the fact that they initially did substandard work, or that I'm having to pay a different plumber to repair it. If they ever reopen their business and are able to compensate me for the repair work to correct their mistakes (that should have been covered under warranty), I'd be willing to update my review (again). read more

When our family moved into our home a couple of years ago, we were told that our HVAC system would need replacing "soon," as it was pretty old. We had previously brought out AG Heating & Cooling to refill the refrigerant for our AC unit, as we weren't ready to do a full system replacement at the time. They wanted $2,995 for the motor and circuit board...or $6,000 for a new A/C unit. We called the company who installed the A/C unit...they charged $200 to replace the motor and now the A/C works fine. AG may be responsive and fix the issue but they may fix more than necessary and make you pay for the unnecessary fixes. It's like replacing the alternator, starter, and battery (or even replacing the entire engine) of your car when you only needed a new alternator. read more

I requested installation of a new HVAC system in my attic. AG Heating and Cooling came in with a detailed, fair and reasonable estimate and I accepted. Now, here is where things got crazy. As a frustrated owner of an older home, I have been experiencing the crazy, crazy cost of high energy bills from an older out of date HVAC system. My first thought was to buy a system that was larger with multiple speeds offering the highest SEER rating in hopes of bringing those bills down to normal. To make a long story short, I ordered the wrong system and ended up having to buy a second system that actually fit my space and current construct. AG came in, gave recommendations and replaced that old system with the new system as requested. AG went above and beyond to ensure that I was up and running as soon as possible. We still have a few things to do to get the efficiency where it needs to be. Trust and Believe, AG will be my go-to HVAC specialist team moving forward. My (admittedly very old) gas furnace is struggling to keep up. The unit sometimes runs the fan with only the pilot light going. I hoped cleaning the flame sensor (as part of a professional cleaning) might fix the problem. AG Heating and Cooling was the first business to respond on Yelp. They offered to do a professional cleaning at literally 75% less than the other estimate I received. The technician arrived at my door slightly late (40 minutes after the scheduled time), but completed the job quickly, professionally, and for exactly the quoted price. I would call this business again. Unfortunately, the cleaning did not fix the problem and the only other alternative offered was a new/replacement heater. I really miss the days when appliances could actually be repaired instead of just replacing them when something major goes wrong. read more

I had HVAC (cooling) issues with my HVAC heat pump unit. AG HVAC sent Gregg to diagnose what was causing the cooling issue. Gregg found what was wrong and AG HVAC company DID NOT charge me any fees. They quoted me for a repair. Then I asked for a quote to replace the whole units. AG HVAC company gave me a quote that was very reasonable. Mike and Dave showed Sunday @ 0800 to replace my entire HVAc unit (inside air handler and condenser unit outside). I made an appointment 6 days in advance. They did not show and did not contact me. When I contacted them, they offered to come during a window later in the day. They missed the window and did not contact me. When I contacted them, they said the tech was 5 minutes away. The tech got the AC working rather quickly, then said our thermostat was bad, pulled out all of the wires from the thermostat and connected them all together. Ac stopped working and tech said we had bad electricity that had shorted out the Ac's electrical board. He said he had the serial number and they would order a new one for me. This seemed fishy. The next day, when I heard nothing from them, I contacted them and they said they were waiting to hear back from the manufacturer. That was 8 days ago. Meanwhile, because I did not trust what the tech had told me, I had another company come out. They had the AC up and running in 5 minutes, then did a bunch of checks on the system to be sure everything was ok. It was. No new parts needed. AC has been running fine since. I would not use this company as their communication is horrible, they don't seem trustworthy, and they incorrectly diagnosed the problem saying it needed a costly repair it did not need. Update: Since this business said I was not telling the truth, I added the texts I had with them. They should have just responded "With the extreme heat, we are overwhelmed with people needing service. We are sorry that we were not able to meet your expectations." Most people might have given them a pass on this incident. Instead, they said my review was not true which, when you look at the texts, just makes them look less trustworthy. read more

I wish I could rate this better but I've had issues since the installation that have not been that still need to be resolved. All of my emails, calls, and texts have gone unresponsive. I had a/c unit put in June 2024. I had a furnace put in May 2022. The A/C unit doesn't push out enough air throughout the house like my previous unit. My furnace also now does not blow hot air. Our ac units suddenly stopped working at 9pm, and after a terrible night of sleep in this heat wave, I sent out a repair request at 6am the morning of July 4th, but not getting my hopes up since it was a holiday. AG responded almost immediately and their prices were very reasonable. The tech arrived on time and was able to efficiently diagnose the issue, repair what he could, and advise us on our next steps. Because of his findings we found out the main issue lies with Pepco (of course), and we were able to get them to come out to fix our power supply, and now our AC units are running again.
