Nick came to my new house to install a deadbolt and handle set on my front door. The door only had a locking knob when I bought the place so he had to drill out the hole for the deadbolt and do a ton of work on the frame side for the actual lock. He was at it for quite a while with drill, chisels and other tools. This is not a job I'd want to have tried to do myself. Nick was friendly and never got frustrated even though I had people coming in & out of the front door all morning long (new house, lots of tradesmen plus my toddler, wife, and dad). He helped keep an eye out for escape cats too! And he was always willing to explain what he was doing, which tools were good for what purpose, and he shared a bunch of tips about installing a lock, using and maintaining it properly, and other things. I could not be happier with this work. The lock looks fantastic on my door and the door itself closes perfectly. You barely have to push on it, I suspect a stiff breeze could push it shut! The deadbolt throws like butter and everything looks great (not chewed up like some doors/frames you see that have had locks poorly installed). Making the appointment was easy (just a phone call) and Nick called half an hour ahead of his arrival. The company is local to Fairfax. Payment was simple with a card on Nick's smart phone. They offered to do a price adjustment and asked me to call back tomorrow to get that done. I'll update again after the adjustment is issued! Original review with two stars: The technician and I had a little difference of opinion on scale. He said the fee would be "about $100", by which he meant $145. Then he said that he gave me a discount because he was "a little bit late". He showed up 25 minutes AFTER the end of his window - I think that's more than a little bit. I ended up paying $115, which did not include the discount he said he'd give me because I gave him a Yelp voucher for $30 pre-paid. So, basically, I'm not happy with the service I got. read more

Also credit card is accepted. The price was very high. I called 3 hours in advance and scheduled appointment. Technician initially quoted me $175. Other places charged this rate for Sunday night emergency but here is only enough for weekday business hour. After discussion, technician agreed the final service fee would be $150. But when I tried to redeem Yelp voucher, technician didn't use agreed price and charged me $175. So I end up paying $145(didn't include the $15 to purchase Yelp voucher). Very disappointed about this. Besides, although some reviews say show up fee was $15, technician told me the show up fee is actually $45. read more

They answered very quickly and I agreed to pay the 15 dollar fee to have a guy come look at the locked bedroom door. When another guy got here, he said it would be at least $120 dollars more to use a fancy crowbar. I paid him the 15, got my own crowbar from the garage and took care of it myself. read more

I will say service was fast! Unfortunately, I feel like the guy ripped me off, but what do you do in desperate times? -still people shouldn't be taken advantage of because that. They said the call to come out was $20, then when the come out to access they would tell me. So the guy that came out was nice, but I swear he said $80 to drill the lock out-so I thought $100 seems fair for all of the 20 min he was here. Simply put, they misquoted me. My mother was locked out of her house, and I live an hour away so I gave these guys a call. They quotes me at $50 for the service call and labor. Turned out my mother had to pay $250 after they got out there. These guys did not mention that possibility when I called them. $250 might be reasonable for this service, but my mom ended up paying 5 times more than their quote. I had a fantastic experience with this company. I had a key break off while I was trying to unlock a door from our laundry room to our sun room. I called them and they had someone their within a couple of hours. Alex came out and clearly knew what he was doing with what ended up to be a somewhat complicated lock and door. He said an easy but not an affordable solution would be to install an entirely new lock on, which would have been close to $300. But he looked at it for a bit longer and figured out a more affordable way, making a new key for me on the spot, diagnosing a couple other problems with the lock (that had happened long before), reinstalling the lock so it went the correct way, and even oiled it up so it opened easier and to prevent this kind of thing from happening again. And he did it all for $100. He was very courteous, had an enjoyment for his job and really reminded me of what an ideal tradesman would be, that is, someone who has a genuine interest and in what they are working on.
