    What a cute diner!!
    Maria T.

This cute diner/restaurant/cafe is the Alpha & Omega baby!! Such a sweet, friendly vibe! I was warmly greeted, seated, and "meeted"!! The owner came and introduced himself and gave me a mini history of his restaurant career! He used to own the Neptune Restaurant. I popped in on Thanksgiving day and it was mildly busy. The servers were all so accommodating, especially my darling lady, Jess, what a perky, lovely person! My goodness... the bakery is incredible! While I was there, people were lined up snapping up all the desserts! So if you like sweets, you'd better hurry. One of the owners (?) even gave a couple some free pastries! So nice! The cakes are beautiful and the pies are amazing! I had a slice of pumpkin pie with a nice cuppa Earl Grey tea, and I was so enamored by this "gourd"geous and scrumptious pie, that I ended up getting a whole pie to bring home! The folks here couldn't be more accommodating and even allowed me a special favor involving whipped cream!! Shhhh, it's our little secret!! Back to the pie... it's creamy yet dense, a captivating crust, with the pumpkin filling not too sweet, just how I love it!! Wow! I'll be craving this pie for eons!! Just like my mom used to make! I also picked up a box of shortbread cookies - everything here is homemade! They are opened til 3 today, but usually opened for breakfast, lunch & dinner! I only had a "snack" today but I know I'll be back for dinner, the Greek food sounds fabulous, and they also serve Italian and American fare. I dare you to find a cozier, friendlier eatery!

First thing I noticed upon entering the restaurant it was very spacious, and clean with both booths and tables. Food here was very disappointing. My friend and I both ordered bacon omelettes with a side order of homemade corn beef hash. They are very skimpy with the bacon in their omelettes. More like bacon bits instead of strips of bacon cut up. The corn beef hash was mostly potato with some corn beef mixed in. It started out to have flavor but quickly disappeared. Coffee was weak, and my friend could not drink his water because of the strong smell of chlorine.

Nice place for a morning. Great food, good service, good atmosphere. I ordered a hot chocolate (not a coffee guy), a Belgium waffle, and a side of bacon. All of that food was amazing and I highly recommend this place if you're bored and hungry in the morning! Good cafe!

Great place! Great food and service! Would like delivery tho! COVID 19 demands that! Shirley Miller

I met a girlfriend here for breakfast with her daughter and her daughters boyfriend. I was very surprised at how quickly our food came to us literally within 3 to 4 minutes and everything was very good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as opposed to Athena diner

Most of their baked goods were sold out, which totally made sense because it was nearly closing time and the items that remained looked delicious. So we were sure that whatever had been sold before was more of the same. I ordered a hot latte and the kiddo ordered a raspberry tea. We also decided to order toasted sandwiches (grilled vegetables for me and grilled cheese for her) to enjoy in the shop. Enjoy we did! The latte was served with a foam smiley face. The espresso was strong and delicious and tempered nicely by the milk. Her tea was piping hot and fruity. The sandwiches were toasted but not blazing hot, for which we were thankful because we were very hungry. They also weren't greasy - an issue I have with other toasted sandwiches. As a side note - why do sandwich shops slather sandwiches in oil or butter when a simple iron sandwich press and a hot grill will suffice? Anyway, our sandwiches were great! They were filling but didn't leave us feeling lethargic (please refer back to the not greasy comment.) We were so happy to have a good meal and a seat after a long tour around the Quinnipiac campus. Bussing one's table is expected and the staff kept the tables spic and span in between patrons. Speaking of the staff, the young man who took our order and was servicing the dining area was kind and patient as we ordered. We made sure to leave fifteen minutes before closing because we didn't want to be THOSE people, namely the couple in the corner who'd setup their computer shop and looked to have no intention of leaving without a fight. We will definitely return to Bread & Chocolate if we find ourselves in the area again.

This place was extremely disappointing…read more I've had their bread at local restaurants and always thought it was excellent, which is what motivated me to visit in person. Over the past few months, I tried stopping by three separate times, twice they were already closed, and once they had completely sold out of bread. I finally made it there on a Sunday morning, and they had only one loaf left, and not a type I wanted. We decided to order two egg and cheese sandwiches (one with turkey bacon). Both were terrible. The rolls were soft, soggy, wet, and flavorless. Each sandwich had a single egg placed off-center, so half the roll barely had any egg at all. The turkey bacon was so bad we removed it and threw it out. Normally, I would have just moved on and not returned. But what really pushed me to write this review (which I never write) was the carrot cake we purchased. We took it home, refrigerated it, and tried it later that evening. It was, without question, the worst piece of carrot cake I've ever had. The frosting was hard, dry, stale, and completely lacking flavor, no sweetness at all. The cake itself was equally bad: dry, crumbly, and utterly tasteless. There was no hint of carrot, cinnamon, nutmeg, or any spice, just bland, dry crumbs. The cake was completely lacking sugar. After two bites, we threw it in the garbage. I don't say this lightly. I've been cooking and baking for decades, hold a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, and spent over 20 years in the industry. I've traveled extensively and eaten outstanding food around the world. For me, someone who genuinely loves desserts, to throw cake away (which is rare) says everything. I understand it was a Sunday and that fresh baking may not be happening that day, but it's simply not acceptable to sell baked goods from prior days that are clearly stale. Even more concerning than the staleness however, was the complete lack of flavor in the product. The sandwiches were disappointing, but that cake was on another level. I won't be returning for sandwiches or desserts, but perhaps the bread.

It was certainly…read moresome type of foreign object that would need to be carefully researched in order to determine exactly what it is! This discovery was so alarming and obviously jeopardized the health and safety of my family that I immediately called the store. No one picked up. I sent an email on Saturday, April 5th and realized on Tuesday, April 8th almost 4 days had passed with no reply. I decided to forward my email again and finally received a response that they did not receive my original email although the same email address I received the reply from was the exact same email address I originally emailed. Interesting.... Not to mention the forwarded email had a timestamp on it. Nevertheless, I expressed my concerns along with resending the photos. Here's where the situation gets worse .... I advised the email respondent that I saved the cake and would be more than happy to drop it off for them to have it carefully inspected. Instead, they decided to email me back and advise me that they had "carefully inspected the photos", and determined it was a carrot that underwent a chemical reaction and not a concern. SERIOUSLY!?!? Firstly, I read through the ingredients list and there isn't anything listed that should be green. Secondly, I watched the videos of at least 8 vloggers who bit into the carrot cake and turned it towards the camera and NEVER once did I see anything green. So let me guess... this "chemical reaction" just so happen to ONLY happen to my cake? Lastly, and the most disappointing part of the email stated, as a "gesture of goodwill", I would be happy to offer you a "complementary replacement cake." Complementary as in 'Free', haha! How in the world could something be 'complementary' when you already paid for it?! Which is exactly what I asked them in my response. At the bare minimum, I should've been offered a refund. And asked to bring in the piece of cake so they can carefully inspect it to protect the health and safety of ALL the North Haven, CT Crumbl patrons! UNBELIEVABLE, the way this matter was handled! Of course, I respectfully declined the cake and let the respondent know that I would never step foot back into the North Haven Crumbl again, except to drop off their contaminated product. This type of customer service is extremely poor and shows a clear picture of the type of person/persons running the North Haven establishment which I found out are two brothers by the names of Scott and Justin Cinnamon. Certainly a missed opportunity to right a wrong. And by the way, my daughter and I are Pink Status Crumbl members. For those of you who don't know, that is the highest status you can get. The way you become Pink Status is by patronizing Crumbl regularly and earning points. So No - I am not some one-time customer complaining. We actually love their product and enjoy reviewing them. North Haven Crumbl has certainly loss at least one customer due to this. Photos are below...See for yourself!
