Broiled seafood combo with sweet potato fries
    Angel B.

My wife and I were in the area and in a rush so we stopped in here for a quick lunch. It's a cute little place with a counter out front and tables in the back. From the moment we walked in, however, I got a vibe like they were shorthanded and stressed. Stacie was our server and she treated us fine - just "fine" - she took our orders - New England clam chowder and an entree. It did take what felt like an inordinate amount of time for the soup to come out. Same with the broiled seafood combo. But, I have to say, both were EXCELLENT! I chalked up the delay to the food being prepared fresh.

One more diner meal before flying back West? Heck yeah. This one is my Brother's local, because it's a bit smaller than others in the area, and offers a more quiet setting for breakfast. They did a real nice job with my breakfast sam, in a brioche rather that a hard roll. Nice to have real swiss cheese on it, as well. Wifey went light with Avocado Toast for the travel day, and was pleasantly surprised with the addition of Feta on them. She'll be bringing that little factoid back home with her for our dining pleasure. And I guess this's one of a very few places that'll do Grits in the breakfast hours. Hostess, waitress, and the rest of the staff were all happy and friendly, and I got a kick out of them doting on my older Bro. We bid adieu to New England with a big smile, and a lot of great foodie memories...

Stopped right off the highway for dinner. Convenient for those driving down 95 or also a favorite of locals. Inside was classic diner vibes with a milkshake bar seats or booths. Service was friendly and efficient, from getting seated to food being served. As you'd expect from a diner, an expansive menu of various grill eats and American entrees . The sandwich was decent but the sky burger was really good, from large meat patty to well made with the toppings.

Ordered takeout and everything was so fresh and perfect. I appreciated that they took our substitute and side notes into consideration and tailored our order exactly how we wanted it to be... As in I asked for the onions and tomatoes on the side of my sandwich and they were included in a small wax paper bag! How considerate. :) Great and convenient location.

    Bacon egg and cheese

Small, busy diner with plenty of parking and a friendly staff. Service was quick, and my coffee cup was refilled without my even asking. Eggs up were quite good, but the bacon egg and cheese were not to my wife's liking; bacon was not thoroughly cooked, and the roll was very sweet. Lots of regulars were here (first name basis with the servers). Service was professional but not particularly friendly.

Doctor's Omelette, High Protein Omelette and French Toast

Breakfast was delicious. The menu had lots of options for breakfast. I got the doctor's omelette (egg whites with tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach, broccoli). It was so good and light. Coffee and French toast were really good too. Loved the pictures of several Branford buildings and landmarks on the walls. Will definitely be back.

    Gyro Wrap, I guess.

Solid diner. Had breakfast, eggs and corned beef hash. Not all homemade (eg canned hash) but hot fast and well-prepared. Good service.

Got a combo with eggs, sausage, home fries, and pancakes. The eggs were outstanding. Best in a restaurant in a long time. My banana crunch pancakes were s one and done. They were tasty but would get a different flavor next time. Now, the ultimate no-no was my burnt home fries. I can't believe they actually served them to me. The waitress said some order them like this but I most certainly did not. She brought out new ones but still burnt residue on most. I will skip those next time.

So they did have them but sadly not southern style with breakfast sausage. I guess this is Italian style as it was made with sweet Italian sausage. Good not what I was looking and hoping for. I've never seen so much sausage in a breakfast gravy but actually it was too much. Not enough gravy to soak into or sop up with the biscuits. Biscuits tend to be dry these included and need the sauce. My wife got the mango stuffed French Toast. In fact she was the first to order. These were different the portions generous and good. The staff was friendly prices ok. We'll be back but not for the B&G. I guess mine are still the beyond the state. Unless someone has suggestions.

So, before you go, know that and keep in mind that Pa's is not a large restaurant , has a small kitchen & you may have to wait on a bit, especially on nice days. I definitely recommend Pa's Place!

I initially could not figure out where to park, but saw a sign directing us to a side street that led to a good sized parking lot behind the restaurant. I had checked the menu online beforehand so I knew what to order, but discovered as I was standing in line that the menu had changed. After reviewing the current offerings, I settled on a pair of grilled chicken Caesar wraps that my wife and I enjoyed at a shaded outside table. The adjoining property includes both a pergola with additional tables and a beautiful pollinator garden known as Lilian's. The wraps were very good though a little on the dry side.
