    Apple stuffed French toast
    Jim L.

We had heard they must have 50 kinds of French toast. They didn't really have that many but quite a few. My wife had the apple stuffed French toast. I had the cheesy biscuits with sausage, egg and gravy. The portions were quite generous. I liked my wife's French toast better-it was excellent. My cheesy biscuits were good but left an unpleasant aftertaste. Hence the reason for a 4. Prices fair staff very friendly.

I came here to take my friend out for a birthday breakfast. Overall, the experience was okay, but I have to say I was a bit disappointed. Unfortunately, I accidentally ate beef due to it being in the hash. When I asked what was in it beforehand, beef was never mentioned, which was frustrating as I avoid eating it. This is the main reason for the lower rating. That said, the waitress was very kind and helpful in making my friend's birthday feel special, which I really appreciated. My friend enjoyed her meal, and the fact that they have a parking lot is a big plus - super convenient. With a little more attention to detail on ingredient info, this place could be a great breakfast spot.

Great service and delicious meals as ever! Breakfasts here definitely fulfil a sweettooth's cravings for sure!

Nice little classic American fare joint in CT along the way towards New York. Friendly waitstaff and clean bathrooms. We got a hotdog to share with a toasted bun? Sauerkraut and mustard. I got a burger with bacon, cheddar and a sunny side up egg. It was fair and I liked that the top bun was on the side as I tend to not like too much bun.

My friend and I came here for brunch this morning. We were seated right away and the service was very fast. The food was good and we enjoyed ourselves. They were also attentive to special dietary requests. One thing to note is it is pretty small with limited seating. However, we had no problem around 10:15am on a rainy Saturday.

    Carnitas burrito

Ordered a carnitas burrito. The meat & beans were good but the burrito was around 75% rice. So little of the good stuff that I could barely taste it - basically a rice burrito. I've seen really good breakfast reviews so maybe that's the way to go!

My boyfriend and I came to this place because we wanted to try somewhere outside of New Haven and it was amazing! We both got french toast and (not pictured) home fries and turkey bacon on the side. My boyfriend got the special of the day: Cannoli French Toast (might not be the exact name) and I got the French Toast with berries and cinnamon cream. They were so delicious and the french toast with berries and cream wasn't super sickly sweet. The waiters were super nice as well, we got out in a timely manner.

Stopped here late morning on a Saturday and happy to see that the restaurant was full. My husband and I ordered breakfast food, although there was a large assortment on the menu. I did notice that side dishes served with lunch items were very specific, depending upon what you ordered. For example, french fries are only listed as served with burgers, while wraps and sandwiches say they come with coleslaw or a pickle. Since I did not get lunch, I do not know if they offer substitution or upcharge for the change. We both ordered fully loaded homies, which were a generous portion. My husband omitted the scallions and sour cream and I asked for the sour cream on the side. Both were easily accommodated. I also ordered a bacon, egg and cheese on a hard roll. The egg was a tad overcooked as it did not run in the least and they were very generous with the cheese. If I ever ordered it again, I would say light on the cheese, as it was a lot. I ordered chocolate milk, which was a great size and flavorful. My husband ordered hot chocolate, but it did not come with whipped cream, as I had seen in other photos. He said he thought it was just an instant packet. Nothing fancy. Overall, we were happy we tried it and will probably come back and try a lunch item. Service was prompt and wait staff was friendly. Have some cash on hand, as they ask that you tip in cash, if possible.

I stopped in for breakfast at this newly opened restaurant. The menu is quite large serving breakfast items, burgers, signature hotdogs, burritos, soups, wraps, salads, and sandwiches. I ordered a three egg omelette with bacon, sausage, and cheese. It came with home fries and toast.Price at just under $10. Home fries are fried not grilled. They also give you a large cup of coffee not like those small diner cups. The restaurant was very clean, food came out quickly, prices are very reasonable, and my server Karen was extremely friendly.

Stopped by for some lunch and breakfast food. All the food we got today was very good. However, the service when you dine-in was lacking. When we received our food I was missing a food item but the issue was fixed quickly. At the end when we received our bill it wasn't was correct so we had the waitress change it. FYI you cannot leave a tip on a card it has to be cash. Since we don't normally carry cash we went to the bank and dropped off the tip. Lastly, as we were leaving the waitress upfront by the cash register rudely spoke to the young woman that is the busser. The Busser asked the waitress if everything was okay and the waitress rudely said "Why do you always ask if everything is okay." That left a bad taste in my mouth and no one should be spoken to like that. The young woman busser was a great during our visit today she served us coffee and cleaned up our table was very friendly and attentive. Not sure if I will be back.

Everyone that had the Pizza thought it was a very good. Side of french fries was very large. Two kids devoured it by the time I got to take a picture. My mother had this spaghetti and meatballs and liked it a lot. She enjoyed the meatballs himself as they had a lot of flavor and she could see the ingredients inside such as parsley and garlic. My sister enjoyed her angel hair and Alfredo sauce as well as they both enjoyed the soup. Super salad comes with your dinner and as you can see, the soup was very large. My husband had a house salad, and he added blackened shrimp, which came with a good amount of shrimp, avocado, raisins, and almonds. He liked the salad very much. I ordered a special the gnocchi with marinara sauce, and burrata . Overall, the sauce was very good, but I disliked how much sauce was given. For me, I felt like it was too much sauce and my pasta was swimming in it. I would request less sauce the next time I go. Overall, the price was not bad at all. We all enjoy our meal and every single one of us brought food home. Oh, on the sidenote, a good amount of their soups are made vegetarian. This is difficult to find so if you are looking for a vegetarian soup, they told me the escarole and beans, pasta, , pasta fagiol and the lentils were all done.

Originally called "Antonio's Pizzeria" (and then later "Antonio's Sub Shop & Pizzeria"), the establishment has been located at a few different spots on Washington Avenue throughout the years. They have been located at their current address at 528 Washington Avenue for approximately 15 years. The menu consists of a variety of Italian-American staples including chicken entrees, eggplant entrees, seafood entrees, pasta dishes, pizza, soups, salads, appetizers, panini and focaccia sandwiches, subs and wraps. The current owner is Kristjan Lulaj. My family and I recently ordered pizza from Antonio's. We were hosting a birthday party for our younger son and thought that everyone would want pizza. After shopping around, we found that Antonio's had some VERY decent prices. I'm ashamed to admit it, but I've lived in North Haven for my whole life and I never ordered from them. We ordered 4 extra larges: a "Mozzarella", a "Margherita" (fresh homemade mozzarella, tomato sauce, olive oil and fresh basil), a "Chicken Cutlet Bruschetta" (chicken cutlet topped with bruschetta tomatoes & mozzarella cheese), and a "Vodka Pizza" (square pie topped with vodka sauce and mozzarella cheese). When I arrived to pick up the pizzas, the whole restaurant smelled amazing. I saw one of the staff making some stuffed breads in the kitchen. When I got home, the pizzas looked and tasted great. They were a big hit with the party. I can't believe that it took me so long to finally order from Antonios. They make great quality Italian food for very reasonable prices. We'll definitely be back!

Christmas lunch has got to be the best because we usually order 2 or 3 of most of the appetizers, a couple of each of the pasta dishes, a couple of each entree and then we end our meal with coffee and dessert. Bellini's is a beautiful Italian restaurant that was serving a few company lunches as it was just before the holidays. We were seated at the front of the restaurant at table for set for 14, surrounded by windows on all sides. We started with the hot Antipasto Caldo, from the dinner menu, Calamari, Calamari New York style, and Broccoli Rabe with Sausage. A few of us had garden salads with a super garlicky dressing. We ordered the Penne Amatriciana, Gnocchi Napoletana, Penne Vodka. I only had four of the Penne Vodka and two Gnocchi, but what I had was good. We ordered Chicken Marsala, Chicken Parmigiana, and Grilled N.Y. Strip. All of which received many compliments. There were too many desserts to list but I had part of a Tiramisu, which was amazing. My cappuccino was perfect even without the addition of the rock sugar stick that was offered. The staff was attentive and we were never left needing anything. For close to 25 years, the Mazzaro family operated Vic's Pizza on Quinnipiac Avenue. Eventually, they had an idea to open something bigger and better with a more extensive menu. The restaurant was named for their son Jason, who goes by the nickname "J. Roo". Originally, the restaurant was billed as "J. Roo's, home of Vic's Pizza". The extensive menu consists of Italian specialties, seafood dishes, steakhouse entrees, New Haven-style pizza, burgers & hotdogs, sandwiches & wraps, salads, soups, wings, various bar bites, craft beer, wine, and specialty cocktails. In 2015, J. Roo's temporarily closed for a major renovation. The current, larger restaurant space opened the following year. My family and I recently had dinner at J. Roo's. My wife and I have enjoyed their food a few times in the past, but this was the first visit for our two sons. We were all seated at a booth in the main dining area. J. Roo's makes great wings and other various types of bar appetizers, but we were all in the mood for some New Haven-style pizza. We decided to order two medium pizzas: the "Pesto" (white pie, fresh mozz, grilled chicken & garlic pesto sauce) and the "Meatball Ala Vodka" (vodka sauce, meatballs, fresh mozz); the latter was a special. These pies were EXCELLENT! Really crispy crust, great sauces and really good toppings! Although the meatball pie was a special, J. Roo's should really consider making it a permanent addition to the menu. My wife and I washed our pizzas down with some delicious Foxon Park Birch Beer. Overall, we had a great visit at J. We tried to get in yesterday but it was super crowded and we didn't want to wait amongst a lot of people (too much sickness going around). However, I wish we had gone, because our breakfast wasn't anywhere as good as today. I started with a Carmel latte which was really good. I had the croissant French toast which was utterly amazing! I have to say that I am NOT a breakfast person. I'm not a fan of eggs, but I will eat them and I hate to start the day with a sugar bomb! However, the croissant French toast was a true delight. It came topped with fresh, not frozen sugary stuff, beautiful juicy strawberries, a nice light whipped cream, and a not so sugary chocolate sauce on the side. It did have a lot of whipped cream so I loved that to the side. It was served with syrup but I didn't use any. The flavor of the croissant with the strawberries was enough for me. I barely dipped it in the chocolate. It was delectable! I've also had their Irish Benny on another trip which was amazing and the pumpkin pancakes. There is NO other breakfast place where I cannot make a decision because there are so many delicious items to choose from. And, I know that anything I choose is going to be utterly amazing. Their portions are big and their prices are very fair for what your get. I felt like I had a whole pint of strawberries on my croissant. My husband had the meat lovers omelet with oatmeal. He said everything was perfect. The staff is very friendly and very attentive. This is a typical breakfast place. It's not fancy but friendly and clean. And everyone seems happy! The kind of place I like. You have to get here early or you'll have a wait. I say the wait is well worth it. We went at 8:30 on a holiday and were able to be seated immediately. That's the first time that's happened though. I want to try their lunch, but their breakfast is so amazing, I would probably order breakfast for lunch which is something I NEVER do! If we had this place near us (we're from Philly), it would be the death of me! I'd be going all the time.
