I ordered the special for the day which was the Guac Attack. On the menu it includes, grilled chicken, guacamole, bacon, mixed greens on a plain wrap. 4.5 stars for one of the best delis in the area! I did order a turkey club which they forgot to put tomato on (still tasted delicious -- very thick, especially for the price which was good). I really liked how many different drinks there were to choose from and how clean the place was. Staff were very nice and our sandwiches came out in about 10 minutes. This place does a lot of pick up orders, especially during lunch time, so consider ordering in advance if you're in a rush. read more

I was always at Corner Deli when it was on Dixwelle Ave for years. Now that it is on Whitney with a different owner it's not the same. The young lady at the front has been rude EVERY TIME! She LOOKS SO MISERABLE and her customer service towards me is disposable I saw the owner and daughter before the new owners and I was informed of the new ownership. It's not the same. Business is Business. Parking lot empty when I pull in. It was never empty. Stayed busy. Now I have a completely wrong order that I now have to call about in the morning for me and my daughter. It's not okay. I work so hard and I am going through a lot. I wish the original owner was still running this place or at least his daughter. This is SAD. A very home style and friendly deli. A variety of options ranging from classics to created. They have decent prices and sizable portions but the reason for the one star is, I found a wrapper from some sort of equipment in my lettuce (See attached photos). Walking in, I was super excited about this deli because it has a really big menu and it seemed pretty clean. I liked the seating and I liked the atmosphere. The parking lot was also bigger than I expected, so it wasn't that hard to park. However, I literally had to wait 45 minutes for my food. About every 10 minutes, one of the cashiers would ask me if I had gotten my food yet, but they didn't bother to check on my order. Finally, 40 minutes after I originally ordered, they put the order in. I was actually shocked that I went to a deli (which wasn't actually that busy) and it took 45 minutes to get a sandwich. Other people for their food much quicker. They also didn't offer to do anything to correct the situation, which was tough. When I got my sandwich, it was fine. I got a vegetable sandwich on a roll. It had mushrooms, eggplant, onions, and peppers. The vegetables inside were ok, but i wish there were more onion. I also thought the bun was really boring. I'd prefer a toasted bun (they don't toast them or anything). Especially if I have to wait 45 minutes! read more

The Corner Deli is always worth it: the sandwiches are large and filling. My favorite is The Chris. You can't go wrong with any chicken cutlet order. They have sides like macaroni salad, coleslaw and lots of chips to choose from. I always leave there satisfied. Service is prompt; I've never had to wait long for an order. Menu has a ton of options with lots of daily specials. I ordered the Chris- with chicken cutlet, mozzarella, prosciutto and pesto mayo on a sub. Sub was enormous, and comes with two fairly large chicken cutlets. Had very small amount of pesto mayo (could barely taste it), and prosciutto seemed more like a piece of cold cut ham. I'm confused about what has happened to this place. We came here all the time a few years ago and were excited to return for their delicious sandwiches. We placed an order and picked it up. When we got home we noticed only one sandwich was correct. The others were not only wrong but the ingredients weren't included or fresh. We had brown lettuce, our Italian sub was only a few pieces of meat and one piece of cheese with nothing else on it, what they said was a Cali chick had no roasted red peppers, avocado or mayo. During COVID I know restaurants are trying their best but considering 3/4 sandwiches were wildly incorrect/unappealing, we decided to call the restaurant and let them know. We were met with hostility, bombarding questions and were eventually hung up on when we asked what our options were to get the correct order. Their steak and cheese is massive! One good thing about corner deli is that they don't sacrifice quantity over quality. So even though my steak and cheese was so big, it was still so good!!! The menu is clearly on display for easy ordering. My cali-chick was all right. The chicken was slightly dry, but the wet red peppers and perfectly ripe avocado helped to add moisture. The pesto mayo was very lightly flavored, making it more of a cohesive than distinct element in the sandwich. Encasing it all was a wonderfully crisp, supple ciabatta. Thanks to a fellow Yelper's suggestion, my coworkers and I grabbed some sandwiches from the Corner Deli. I ordered the #5 panini (grilled chicken, tomato, feta, red onion), the boys ordered 2 chicken parm grinders & a Caesar chicken wrap. My panini was so large, that I was only able to eat half...and that was pushing it. The bread was crunchy and the ingredients were fresh. The feta was as good as Boar's Head (If you haven't tried it, you're missing out!). The grinders got two thumbs up. They had the perfect amount of cheese and sauce. The wrap was a little messy to eat, but well worth it! We will definitely be adding the Corner to our rotation! Tip: Call ahead, you'll still end up waiting, but it won't take as long! read more

To say they are incredible, is to say nothing at all. I was hesitant at first, they need to put some type of welcoming picture with food on it, it looks a bit office like from first glimpse. Never had a better deli near Quinnipiac. First time, it was busy. Took around 10 minutes, and for about 12 dollars I got a turkey club ($7.50) which was really good and is worth every penny. Then there's the soup. Its soup, you can't go wrong with chicken noodle. Except for one thing... The packaging sucked for the soup as it spilled all over the bag and the seat was soiled on due to the bag and cover of the soup ripping. Second time, the club was great as usual and I got some onion rings which were around the same price as the soup at $4 extra. I love onion rings, and these were great. The bag was showing parts of the remains of the fryer and they also are on the bottom where the plastic tray was for the rings. Despite this, they were not soggy which is a major plus. I love headng to this place and will go again and again for more great local sandwiches. But in all seriousness, get better bags and soup covers. That soup became a runaway and spilled all over my seat cover due to that soup cover falling a part. read more

When I unwrapped my chicken parm grinder, all the customary smells wafted out at me... including, I swear to god, butter. Maybe they cook the cutlets in it? I don't know, but that, and the attractive-looking bread, only increased my expectations, which were already high from the online reputation that I'd seen given to the Corner Deli. My expectations were met, and then some. The breading on the cutlets reminded me of the Wethersfield Pizza House... and anyone that's been there knows that this is a high compliment indeed. The sauce stood out as being some of the freshest and tomatoiest that I'd had from a grinder shop - I'd bet everything that it's made in-house. And the bread was every bit as good as I'd thought, contributing its own noticeable density and flavor to the sandwich. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other items, and I imagine I'll start with the Italian combo. If it's at the level of their chicken parm, then I've no worries whatsoever. I've been going to The Corner Deli for a couple years and it's easily my favorite deli in the area. I work in a small office just down the road on Dixwell so I get it for lunch almost every day. I used to get strictly steak and cheeses, which is arguably their best sandwich, however, I've started to branch out more recently to other sandwiches. Their Chapelle Show, French Dip, Buff Chick, Pastrami nightmare and daily cold cut combos are all awesome. If you like salads they serve an enormous Cobb salad for $9 or you could get a chicken Caesar for around $7. Their portions are huge, and given their popularity i would say the prices are reasonable. The Corner Deli is the quintessential deli you want in your area for high quality deli meats and custom sandwiches that blow subway and other chains out of the water. It's no surprise that the lines around lunch time are usually out the door. Make sure to call about 20 mins ahead so you can just swoop in and grab your sandwich. No point waiting in line some rookie. read more

I had a restaurant coupon that was $10 for only $2 so thought I would try it out to make sure it was not a scam and low and behold it was not. Huge savings. Tried this deli out and the variety of sandwiches was very nice with different combinations not usually seen as options. Very small eat in area with 1 high top table and a counter against an outside window with 5 stools. Obviously most of their business is take out. Kitchen area and prep area visible from the order counter and area looks clean and well maintained. Staff are very courteous and attentive. Food comes out within 5-10 minutes and was piping hot that you had to let it cool a little so you did not get burned. I had the Asiago cutlet which was chicken with Asiago cheese and spinach on your choice of bread which I got the ciabatta roll which was delicious but could only eat half as a really big sandwich. My son got the steak and cheese sub which again was super fresh, hot and too big for one meal. I would definitely go back and try another of their daily specials. read more

I have to admit the new location isn't as good as it was near the Miller Library as it may be a little difficult to get to & notice, but its worth it. I had the buffalo chicken sub, and it was stupid delicious. The chicken was flavorful and generous. The sauce wasn't overwhelming nor wimpy with its spicy level. My friend placed a large order over the phone which included a #2 panini, they ended up making special number 2? So it was the completely wrong sandwich and they made us pay for the new one. The worker was rude and said it was all our fault. The panini we wanted was named #2. The sandwich was for a vegetarian and the one they gave us had chicken.
