Chicken salad which is what me and my daughter always order. They gave us Tuna
    Nutchelle777 A.

I was always at Corner Deli when it was on Dixwelle Ave for years. Now that it is on Whitney with a different owner it's not the same. The young lady at the front has been rude EVERY TIME! She LOOKS SO MISERABLE and her customer service towards me is disposable I saw the owner and daughter before the new owners and I was informed of the new ownership. It's not the same. Business is Business. Parking lot empty when I pull in. It was never empty. Stayed busy. Now I have a completely wrong order that I now have to call about in the morning for me and my daughter. It's not okay. I work so hard and I am going through a lot. I wish the original owner was still running this place or at least his daughter. This is SAD. I did stop buying but because I needed a pick me up this was my spot. NOT ANYMORE

    Chicken Cutlet - Roll

My brother claimed this was the best chicken cutlet sandwich he ever had so I had to give it a shot! Was definitely worth the drive the sandwich was huge and delicious. I got the Chris w balsamic dressing added. Service was fine. The place has seating if you want to sit and eat but is more of a to go spot as any deli!

After hearing some good things about The Corner Deli I decided to give it a try today. It was well worth the trip.I ordered the chicken cutlet sub with lettuce, tomato, bacon, and raw onions. Probably one of the best sandwiches I ever had. Great service, and very reasonable prices.

A very home style and friendly deli. A variety of options ranging from classics to created. They have decent prices and sizable portions but the reason for the one star is, I found a wrapper from some sort of equipment in my lettuce (See attached photos). This is not acceptable at all and it a hazard is every way. I hope in the future the sandwiches and ingredients are double checked.

Obsessed with the corner deli and go there all the time! It's super convenient and they tell you the food will be ready in 15-20, but ends up being ready in like 10 minutes. I recommend the Buffalo chicken on a roll. Hands down one of the best spots in town for a sandwich!

Please fix! I ordered a panini #6 from Uber. Tuna was not in the description, and yet I got Tuna. I hate tuna. I'm on the phone with Uber now trying to get a refund.

Best place ever. Chicken cutlets are incredible as well as the friendly service! I've been coming here for years. Cannot speak highly enough of this business. Well done, Corner Deli! Favorite sandwich is a tie between the Chris and the dirty cali chick! Get a Tshirt and spread the word about this magical establishment!

The Chris: chicken cutlet, mozzarella, prosciutto and pesto mayo on a sub
    Dan L.

Menu has a ton of options with lots of daily specials. I ordered the Chris- with chicken cutlet, mozzarella, prosciutto and pesto mayo on a sub. Sub was enormous, and comes with two fairly large chicken cutlets. Had very small amount of pesto mayo (could barely taste it), and prosciutto seemed more like a piece of cold cut ham. Nonetheless, it was really good with tons of flavor. There's not really any area to sit down- so perfect take out sub place. Will definitely be back

Great Italian combo sub. I will be back when I'm out that way again! Next time I'll try the suggested chicken cutlet.

I've been sitting on this review because I lowkey don't want people to overdo it and ruin the vibe--but my Instagram stays in the know since I've posted them plenty of times already. They're just that good. It's a nice, quaint spot with real heart, plus they've got a food truck they take out and about, and they cater too. Straight out of South Carolina, bringing authentic Southern BBQ, lowcountry blends, and somehow mixing it perfectly with that New England swagger. I became a regular fast. Any chance I get, I'm bringing new people here....and I'm not stopping anytime soon, which should tell you everything. They've got some crazy staples too: $10 classic burger with fries on Tuesdays, $1 smoked wing Wednesdays... Yeah, you read that right. And that's just off the top of my head. They also run daily specials that rotate, so either keep an eye on their IG or just pull up and see what they've got cooking that day. I could honestly keep going?I've tried a lot of the menu--but don't sleep on the breakfast sandwiches (coffee's included). And if you're an Arizona fan, they've got variety. Long story short: if you haven't been yet, you're missing out!

Jamshed worked in the fishing industry as a young man, but dreamed of working in the restaurant business. He came to the United States in 1989 and worked for a vending machine business. He finally entered the food industry in 2000 when he started "Mughali Foods": a food cart that prepared Indian and Pakistani food. In 2003, Jamshed became the owner of Noor Mahal, an Indian restaurant in Orange, but continued to run the food cart. He sold the restaurant three years later to focus exclusively on the food cart operation. He later dubbed it "Ali Baba's Fusion" and shifted the menu to halal Middle Eastern cuisine. At one point, Jamshed even had six Ali Baba food carts operating around New Haven. The Kalids opened a brick & mortar location in Hamden in 2014. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, the couple cut down their food cart division to a single cart and put most of the focus on the brick & mortar location which was rebranded as "Ali Baba's Kitchen". The menu was also augmented to focus on healthier food options. A second location opened in North Haven in 2025. My wife and I recently ordered take-out from Ali Baba's North Haven location for New Year's Eve. We had previously sampled food from the Hamden location, as well as their New Haven food cart, but this was our first time getting food from the North Haven location. We were excited to try because it's only a five minute drive from our house. The newer location is nice but it is a bit on the smaller side. I would imagine that most of their business is take-out as opposed to dine-in. I ordered the "Bites Chick Bowl" (lemon chicken & beef gyro served on a base of rice & pita strips, topped w/ lettuce, tomatoes, black olives, chickpeas, cucumbers, feta cheese, drizzled w/ ABK sauce), my wife had the "Running Foodie Bowl" (ginger chicken & chicken kebab on basmati rice & pita strips, topped w/ tomatoes, cucumbers, pickled onions, feta cheese, and ABK sauce), and we also shared some "Samosas" (with tamarind sauce and chana masala). As I've stated in a previous review, we think that the food at Ali Baba's is sensational and we plan to order from them again and again!

I look forward to going back and trying more menu items.

Most of their baked goods were sold out, which totally made sense because it was nearly closing time and the items that remained looked delicious. So we were sure that whatever had been sold before was more of the same. I ordered a hot latte and the kiddo ordered a raspberry tea. We also decided to order toasted sandwiches (grilled vegetables for me and grilled cheese for her) to enjoy in the shop. Enjoy we did! The latte was served with a foam smiley face. The espresso was strong and delicious and tempered nicely by the milk. Her tea was piping hot and fruity. The sandwiches were toasted but not blazing hot, for which we were thankful because we were very hungry. They also weren't greasy - an issue I have with other toasted sandwiches. As a side note - why do sandwich shops slather sandwiches in oil or butter when a simple iron sandwich press and a hot grill will suffice? Anyway, our sandwiches were great! They were filling but didn't leave us feeling lethargic (please refer back to the not greasy comment.) We were so happy to have a good meal and a seat after a long tour around the Quinnipiac campus. Bussing one's table is expected and the staff kept the tables spic and span in between patrons. Speaking of the staff, the young man who took our order and was servicing the dining area was kind and patient as we ordered. We made sure to leave fifteen minutes before closing because we didn't want to be THOSE people, namely the couple in the corner who'd setup their computer shop and looked to have no intention of leaving without a fight. We will definitely return to Bread & Chocolate if we find ourselves in the area again.

This place was extremely disappointing…read more I've had their bread at local restaurants and always thought it was excellent, which is what motivated me to visit in person. Over the past few months, I tried stopping by three separate times, twice they were already closed, and once they had completely sold out of bread. I finally made it there on a Sunday morning, and they had only one loaf left, and not a type I wanted. We decided to order two egg and cheese sandwiches (one with turkey bacon). Both were terrible. The rolls were soft, soggy, wet, and flavorless. Each sandwich had a single egg placed off-center, so half the roll barely had any egg at all. The turkey bacon was so bad we removed it and threw it out. Normally, I would have just moved on and not returned. But what really pushed me to write this review (which I never write) was the carrot cake we purchased. We took it home, refrigerated it, and tried it later that evening. It was, without question, the worst piece of carrot cake I've ever had. The frosting was hard, dry, stale, and completely lacking flavor, no sweetness at all. The cake itself was equally bad: dry, crumbly, and utterly tasteless. There was no hint of carrot, cinnamon, nutmeg, or any spice, just bland, dry crumbs. The cake was completely lacking sugar. After two bites, we threw it in the garbage. I don't say this lightly. I've been cooking and baking for decades, hold a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, and spent over 20 years in the industry. I've traveled extensively and eaten outstanding food around the world. For me, someone who genuinely loves desserts, to throw cake away (which is rare) says everything. I understand it was a Sunday and that fresh baking may not be happening that day, but it's simply not acceptable to sell baked goods from prior days that are clearly stale. Even more concerning than the staleness however, was the complete lack of flavor in the product. The sandwiches were disappointing, but that cake was on another level. I won't be returning for sandwiches or desserts, but perhaps the bread.
