I had lunch here with a group of friends the other day. On the way in there was a specials board which I snapped a photo of because I usually have to ask for a rerun of one or two that sparked my interest should the server announce the specials before ordering. Well, when our server was taking our orders, she never said anything about the specials. Mind you the menu is EXTENSIVE anyway so maybe she just forgot. Our table was only half set with paper placemats and service ware. Even though our server was informed that we didn't have silverware, when we ordered, several of us had to scoop it from other tables when the food came. She finally came through with place settings but we had already helped ourselves. Anyway the food was ok, it came out all together and there were no complaints. However our server didn't bring my drink order and left off a couple of sides that were ordered by others. She was friendly and smiled a-lot but was not up for the task of a server. The food is super good and filling. I've definitely had this restaurant on my list for a while and so glad I went.

I didn't expect much as it had a mediocre score but after golf we wanted breakfast and decided to try it... when I got there we also found out it was an old Howard Johnson building. But as it turned out, I can't think of one area to improve on. When we went in - there was a maître D that sat us. The booth was new and clean. The waitress was accommodating and knowledgeable. The bathroom was clean. The food was reasonably priced and it came out in a reasonable amount of time plus all three of us loved our food! When I went to pay (to me. I was visiting for a week throughout the state and could never find a restaurant that service breakfast with Turkey bacon and egg whites!! Great customer service and the most important thing to me, extremely well thought out safety precautions. Everyone here is SO NICE. We asked to sit outside, and got great service at the picnic table there. They have high chairs and boosters for kids, and an affordable picky-kid-friendly menu. (My five year old got one pancake and a chicken noodle soup.) I got a broccoli cheese omelette that was perfectly cooked with nice small pieces of broccoli, and my wife got a tuna melt. Everything was great, and it was about a 30 second detour from 15 South. Waaaaaay better than the awful and tiny North Haven service plaza. Attended an affair catered by Hamden Town House today & it was absolutely amazing. The manager & servers were so attentive & professional. It was familiar faces of staff that I recognized when I dine in the restaurant. I'm ashamed I never knew they did an outstanding job of catering! It was by far one of the best buffets I've ever been to. They were immaculate & clean)using gloves$ while do food prep & replenish in dishes. E thing was spot on & I would strongly suggest if you need an event catered give them a try or patronize there place of business rest assured you won't be disappointed regardless of whether you're stopping in for coffee & a delicious dessert, to a quick lunch, or a dinner special. Hamden Townhouse catered an off site celebration of life luncheon today and I cannot express how wonderful they were. The entrees were absolutely delicious and the servers were delightfu. Ahmit and his team were outstanding! Haven't eaten there in 3-4 yrs ,had an early dinner of a chicken Caesar wrap .good portion but service was a little slow but food was good.

We ordered from Uber eats and half the order was missing. We got a French dip sandwich with no au jus dip, the entire reason for ordering this item, we upgraded to the salad for an extra $2 and that was missing, we asked for the Italian bread with the soup and that was also missing. Unforgivably rude management. I've been here many times (sadly), alone or with family, and never has the food risen above mediocre; they have a bloated menu so many ingredients are canned, boxed, or frozen, and everything winds up tasting like everything else. Forget about the coffee, it is consistently weak. I went in for breakfast one morning- I spent the morning taking pictures with a camera I was trying to figure out how to use, I'd gotten it from a friend who suddenly died. I had the camera with me on the counter. About halfway through breakfast, the "hostess" came up and said that she had been watching me on the security camera and could see that the camera was on and I was filming her and the staff. Once I got my head around this bizarre accusation, I told her that, yes, the camera was turned on but I certainly wasn't filming, I showed her then turned it off. I told her multiple times that I was not filming her staff, but she refused to believe me and she stormed off. I finished the rest of my breakfast feeling like a creep. When I went to pay at the register, I told her I understood how it could be upsetting and was sorry for that, but promised I hadn't been filming. Again she snorted and stormed off. But that's not all! She followed me out with the owner, her brother, who started to tell me not to film the staff. I tried to tell him I didn't even know how to film with the thing but he interrupted me every time I opened my mouth, while his sister stood there staring at me like I was some kind of bug. So, in conclusion, if you want to eat bland, assembly-line food with the possibility of being spied on, harassed, insulted, yelled at, and called a liar by people who should probably not venture out in public, much less run a public business, this may be the perfect restaurant for you. 0 stars. read more

7/23/18 I will start with this. This is the only diner worth going to in Hamden. This is a nice diner right next to a small motel. This is right off the highway. They have a lot of different options there. Service is quick and friendly. Food comes out quick. Everything I have eaten is really tasty. They have really good portion sizes to. The French onion soup tastes like stale cardboard...the bread they put in it, was also stale and not toasted as it should be. And, considering the almost $5 price tag, it was literally served in a container no bigger than a small yogart! Ordered the gyro as well, and lo and behold, No tzatziki sauce... that's Not a gyro then... it's a less expensive wrap. The fries were not even lukewarm and beyond limp and greasy! They have pretty high prices, yet deliver low quality food. Called the manager the next day and he was combative, belligerent, and hostile...how dare someone complain... I think any restaurant should be reviewed off of 3 categories... the food, the service, and the vibes (all equally important). *The Food* It's a diner. The food is nothing special and neither is the coffee. The food is in most cases bland however that being said there are absolutely a few hidden gems in that menu that will never disappoint. *The Service* You'll never get perfect service anywhere and this place is no exception, however mostly this place has acceptable service. There have been a handful of times where the service was slow or the wait staff inattentive (so I tipped accordingly). For the most part however, they get you in and they get you out and that's just the way I prefer it. *The Vibes* Now this is where this place stands out. The vibes here are awesome. No matter how average the meal or wait staff, the vibes here are 'homey'. It's lit up perfectly, there's plenty of space (but not too much), and the noise is always 'just' right. I don't know what it is other than what is likely a coincidence but this place has amazing vibes and makes you feel like you're eating at some diner run by your family... I love it. *BOTTOM LINE* The food gets the job done and if you order the right meal will perfect satisfy you. The wait staff is adequate enough, not too friendly not to standoffish, and operates at just the right speed. The vibes are what standout. I cannot give more than three stars because, how do you mess up an Eggs Benedict?? Shown in the picture, it looks great! Right? I should have taken a pic after I made the first cut. Now, I have had my fair share of eggs Benedict's so I know a thing or two about how they should be and, up until now, the poached eggs burst when cut into spilling the yolk all over the meat and bread underneath- YUMMMM that's my favorite part!! This one, however, was over cooked and not one drip of yolk came out, the yolk was hardened. BUMMER!! I did not send it back simply because the meal was still edible and my dining partner is not very patient when it comes to waiting, I did not want any problems there! The coffee is drinkable but did not taste very fresh (we were here at about 11am). The service has always been great and friendly the handful of times we have eaten here (usually on a Saturday or a Sunday at around 11am or so). So no complaints there. I have been here many times, and we still do come here but I'll stick to ordering omelettes since they do an ok job with these (a little over done still, on the omelette though, I have to say). read more

This place is my go-to anytime of day. The breakfast is awesome and there are so many choices, you never have to have a repeat meal. They're open early in the morning and stay open late, when there aren't many other options available for a full service meal. The owners are always there and know how to treat customers right-very important in my book. If you're in the neighborhood make sure you check this place out. My Family has been going to Hamden Town House for over 20 years! The atmosphere is warm and friendly. We love all the waitresses some of them have been there for 20 plus years. All the soups are made fresh daily (yum) the menu is extensive there is something for everyone!!! The food is always delicious!! The owners are super friendly and make a effort to say hello every time we are there!! I don't usually post reviews but I was so sad to see a couple very bitter uninformed reviews. I believe the beauty of living in this great country is that everyone is innocent until PROVEN guilty. Fast, solid, affordable breakfast. What's that worth to you? For me, it's about 3 stars worth. The waiter came over incredibly quickly. We ordered -- I basically made my own omelette cause their veggie omelette ingredients were kind of weird. The breakfast came out strangely fast. As if they'd somehow anticipated my order ahead of time. It was quite good and ample-sized. And really affordable. The atmosphere is... a diner. Not even a super fun 50's diner. Just like... the most basic diner that ever dinered. But in Hamden, your brunch options tend to be pretty limited. So, I was happy with it. I needed breakfast. I was hungover.
