Jose and Ygnacio showed up to help us determine how to fix our rusted pool hand railing. They did our pebble tech install and are not even the people who installed the railing so technically not even their responsibility. But they came out, got into our cold pool to remove the railing, clean the rust, show us what was wrong and put it back...all free of charge. Not only did they help us clean it and tell us what to do to fix it, but I learned a lot in the process too! Always fun. Thanks for your time today gentlemen, it was a pleasure! read more

Not the experience we expected. We were aware from the start that there was an increase in demand for new and remodeled pools, so we knew that there would be delays and rescheduling on our project. However, communication was pretty much non-existent and the excuse we were given was that the company was overwhelmed with the number of projects they had taken on. That's not an acceptable excuse. As a reputable business, communication with your customers is imperative and we got to the point where we gave up and hoped that someone from Adams Pools would just show up. read more

Ok this review goes to John! My husband and I are in need of remodeling our pool. When I called to have someone come out to give us a quote, it took a little back and fourth but I get it, pool season and everyone and there mom wants a beautiful pool! Finally I got to talk to John and the first question he asked was "when do you plan on doing this"? I said ASAP and he said they were booked out 3 months. Unfortunately we cannot wait that long, so I told him I already had another company come out and give us a quote and he happily spent his own personal time giving me a price they might charge us and let me know so much good info. Honestly customer service is very rare like that especially since he already knew he wasn't getting business from us. He even called when work was done for the day and he was probably tired himself like the rest of us!! I must say if we could wait I would for surely use them based upon many recommendations from other people and all of Johns knowledge. Thank you John you are truly a gem! read more

"My father wears his sneakers in the pool! Sneakers!" - George Costanza, Seinfeld I had a very different experience than recent reviewers... They installed the original pool in 1961, I was given the plans and other paperwork when we moved in. In 2002 they installed a Pebble-Tec surface for us which has been great. Recently we wanted to freshen up the surface and they suggested an acid wash, which brought back "just installed" look of the pebbles! Very happy with their service, both back office and on-site. They showed up on time, very professional, cleaned up after themselves and the quality has met my expectations Nice folks! read more

Adams replaced the gunite on our pool when it began to fail after a decade or so. We chose the PebbleTec coating and then scheduled the job to begin when we were in our other home in Santa Fe so we wouldn't be disturbed by the noise of the job. They were easy to work with and communicative as well - letting me know when they ran into issues and how they intended to work them out. We did have a few kinks to work out when we got back though - some areas needed a bit of additional work for example, but they responded quickly. I deducted a star because they really create a massive amount of mess when they do a job like ours - there was dust everywhere on the property including the hardscaping around the pool, on my G Wagon and all over our deck. I had to hire someone to come and power wash all of it so it was presentable. They could make more of an effort in that regard, but overall the job was done well and for the amount we agreed on, so I am grateful for that. read more

The most important thing to consider for this project was the final outcome of the pool remodel. Sure there were delays and rescheduling, but during this period when there was an increase in demand for new and remodeled pools, I understood especially when explained by the staff. Peter Crevelli was my project supervisor who did an outstanding job communicating with me on all aspects of the project from beginning to end, always in a polite and friendly manner. Those of you who live within his jurisdiction will be very lucky. Once I was on Adams Pool Solutions contract, I was kept on schedule as best as possible. Some delays were not at fault by Adams Pool. As I was a "hands-on" person, I saw that there were different crews (about 10) doing each phase of the remodeling. Each crew was a specialist in their specific task. They did not cut corners. Although I had a specified contract, after talking with Peter and some of the crew, I did some additional upgrades which I didn't think it was possible. The extra costs were well spent. I never heard of a Baja Shelf and never knew the pool can be made more shallow. The pool now is very kid-friendly and great for non-swimmers. Almost no possibilities of adult drowning. Pool depth is perfect for aerobics at any age, especially the elderly. Our pool remodel was personalized by adding mosaics which include turtles, dolphins, fishes, a seahorse, crab and starfish. Could not be happier and the project would not have been the same without the help from Peter Crevelli. read more

Very unprofessional. They did construction work on the hot tub and in the process made the pool and hot tub dirty and didn't clean after themselves. When called, they said they are not responsible for grout to fall in the pool in the process and they can't do anything about it!!! Basically it's part of the process and they couldn't take any prior measure to take care of "inevitable"! I call this nonsense. And more so the guy on the phone was extremely rude about it. How about laying a tarp for instance. My pool water is dirty and I have a pool party coming up so extremely unsatisfied. read more

The worst contractor in the world do NOT use them. The first project manager I cought throwing garbage in the pool then spitting in the garden when I asked him to leave it almost turned into a fight the worst! The workmanship was terrible on top of that among a lot of other things. read more

Called them 2 months ago. They took down my information with a promise that someone will get back to me. After 2 weeks someone (Gary) finally did and came over and promised a quote within 2 weeks. It's now a month and I have reached out to Gary by phone and email. Unfortunately I think he is either sick or has quit his job because I don't see any other reason for him not to take 5 minutes and respond to a phone or email. I am sure there are better companies that I can spend my hard-earned money with. These guys ain't them though read more

We just had our final inspection of our spa by the City of San Jose. Sergio was here, as well, to oversee the inspection. My husband and I wanted to let you know that we were so very pleased and impressed with Sergio. He is so kind and patient and answered all our many questions throughout the process. We began the process with Todd Pickett back last fall, so it has been a process. Todd was a good salesman, from the start. He also answered our initial questions until the project was turned over to Sergio. Sergio was excellent in walking us through the city requirements for our gates and for the various alarms required. Sergio always answered my text messages in a timely fashion, thoroughly covering questions and concerns. I really appreciated his quick responses. He went over and above to help us with any "problems" and always was here, at least at the beginning, when any work was being performed on site. He communicated with me before coming to our home, as well as on the day of any appointment. Sergio is very personable and it was great fun chatting about pools, spas and families. He takes great pride in his work and strives to please. He is a very good representative for Adams Pool Solutions. Also, Noreen Sumpter was equally efficient and quick with her emails and responses, which, again, is great for customers. Three cheers for Adams Pool Solutions. I highly recommend your company. We bought a house in Concord in November with a somewhat decrepit 40yr old pool. The plaster was shot and there were cracks in it. We got multiple estimates and decided to go with Adams. As soon as we were in contract, I wanted to start getting estimates so that the pool could operational by summer. The first thing that impressed me about Adams was that most of the pool companies told me that they didn't want to waste their time giving me an estimate untill the I had the keys because the sale might fall through. I understand that. But Todd from Adams came out and spent some time with me, gave me a little education about the pool, and worked up an estimate. After the sale was done I continued to get estimates while we decided what to do about the pool. We were either going to do a really comprehensive backyard renovation, and replace the pool deck and add a spa, or just do a mini renovation and get the pool open for this summer, and do the big renovation in 3yrs after we had spent time in our new house. Again Adams stood out here. While all of the many pool contractors we talked to were very interested in having me as a customer if I hired them for a big 100k+ backyard and pool remodel, they were alot less excited about doing a 30k smaller pool renovation for me. Adams was just as interested in us as a customer either way. It is very likely that when we are ready in about 3yrs to turn this into our dream pool, we'll come back to Adams for the big job. All through the process communication was exceptional. From Todd our sales guy, to Victoria our project manager, to Mark our site supervisor. Mark made some suggestions about the renovation that were different then what we originally intended, and we are very happy that we listened to him. Now the summer is here and we love our pool. Thanks Adams! read more

the office people answering the phone were very cordial and told me, chris newton would call me to schedule a time to come out and to give me an estimate. never heard from him. i had to call the office several times to get his cell number. finally got through, and he said he would call me back and schedule a time to come out. that was over six months, so i dont think they are interested doing my pool renovation. i used someone else who actually wants the business to renovate my pool. read more

Adams Pools took our old 1960 something pool (that looked like it was home to the Loch Ness monster) and turned it into a backyard retreat that has changed how much we enjoy our life! I had my pool refinished for the second time in 20+ years with Adams Pool Solutions. The first time finally was showing signs of calcium and the return line cracked during an earthquake requiring the drains and return line to be replaced. I did have some challenges with Adams, but they responded following owner, Tony Adams, policy, to make sure that the customer is satisfied and happy with the work. That they did making me a very happy camper with a beautiful pool. If I could add a picture, I would. We used Adams a number of years ago for a pool remodel and were very happy, so we contacted them, to add a water feature and for system automation. Chris came out promptly seven weeks ago and said he'd get back to us shortly. Since then, nothing. We contacted the store twice and they said we would here from him the next day. Nothing. Very unprofessional. I guess they don't need the business. Zero stars would be more accurate. read more

What a waste of time. I contacted Adams/Royal Pools for a new pool build and they quickly scheduled time for one of their sales reps to come out and give us a quote and look at the project. Their rep came out at 7am in the morning as that was the only time he had and spend an hour telling me about all of the projects he has built and that he is the owners best sales person. He said he would put together a 3D rendering of our pool and call me the following week to go over everything. Never heard back from him. I texted him and never got a reply. What a waste of time. Updated review. I had honestly thought it was deleted as the company reached out and let me know they would install and cover the price of the pump they had never mentioned at proposal and contract signing. Doesn't appear I can delete so have to update. They did come out and install but u have yet to clean the lumuneers and test them since adding the filter and will consider upgrading review to 4 star upon seeing they work properly. Overall the project manager we worked with really made the difference and were happy he was at least on our side or made us feel like it at least. read more

Used Adams Pool for our house in Pleasanton which was a pool remodel. Communication is horrible. They tried to overcharge us for things that were their issue. We used Adam's to resurface our pool with pebble tech, new tile and new coping. All pool companies have been slammed over the past two years and we had heard horror stories about the entire process from neighbors, so we were nervous about all of it. Adam's exceeded our expectations - the finished work looks and works great, the customer service was phenomenal. They did a great job of keeping us notified of stages of work and when they would begin. The best part was our amazing project manager, Arturo. With over 100 pools he manages, he always picked up his phone, made site visits, and was 10/10 on friendliness and professionalism. We would highly recommend Adam's. With delays in the industry (and every industry) their ability to communicate on timing and planning was critical. read more

Adams remodeled our pool about 3 years ago. The service was very professional, and the initial results were excellent. However, after a few years we noticed a subtle graying of our pool surface in certain parts of the pool. We called in Adams to get their opinion. Adams told us that the issue stemmed from a problem with the gunite layer below the Pebble Tec surface. Without hesitation they resurfaced our pool and gave us a new warranty at no charge! We know nothing about pool surfaces. Adams could have easily dodged this issue by telling us the discoloration was normal, it would improve as time passed, there was nothing they could do, etc. Instead they told us they stand behind their work and would make it right. You can be very secure in knowing that Adams will do a great job and ensure that you are a satisfied customer. read more

Pretty poor planning and customer service. Got called in the evening and was told, not asked, that work will be starting the next morning and that they needed payment. I got a bit heated, due to the short notice and I cant just take off work at the drop of a hat. They hung up on me! The actual workers are awesome. No mess. Careful. After emailing for an appointment for a quote in March and calling I was able to get a quote in April. I was told that day only new construction was being scheduled. Remodels would be scheduled in late September and October. I was given a proposal and told to expect a call in September to schedule. I received no call and made several attempts to contact someone. Finally, Kim, who handles the tile, plaster, pebbles selections returned my call. I asked for a specific pebble product. The proposal had a pebble chosen by their estimator. I was told I could change it at anytime before they start, as I hadn't visited their design center to choose. She said the guy who gave me the proposal retired and they had no copy. I sent my proposal and was told Kris, manager would contact me. A week past and I contacted Kim again, she said her manager was on vacation for a week and she didn't know. Kris, the manager finally contacted me via email 2 weeks later, after I contacted Kim again to notify her I hadn't heard from her manager. The response from Kris was as follows; We will honor the proposal Schedule for May When I asked for the specific pebble my quote went from $15,914.80 to...$19,176.40. I asked Kris if the pebble in the original quote was backed out and I was told " yes". It appears, their luminosity pebble must have real gold speckles in it if it increased over $8,000.00. Mind you, I got a much less quote for Jewelscape pebble, top pebble manufacturer than Adams Pools brand of luminosity pebble. RIDICULOUS! Horrible customer service. I cannot imagine the run around I'd have trying to address any issues that might arise. read more

We had Adams pool redo our small pool and hot tub about four years ago. The also put a travertine tile around the pool with a total cost of approximately 60K. The did a pretty good Job as long as they were getting paid but now that we need some help fixing a couple items they are less than useless. First they won't return your call, when I finally did reach someone his only response was, we don't do that type of work anymore. When I asked to speak to the manager or owner I was told that they won't give out those numbers. I'm sorry but that is absolutely horrible customer service. Had I known that they wouldn't help after the project was completed I never would have used them. I caution anyone who is looking to have pool work done not to use this company. I wasn't asking them to fix anything for free, I would have gladly paid them for their help but they refuse to do anything. Good luck running a company like that! We live in Novato and Adams Pool Solutions was recommended by a friend who used them a few years ago. We were impressed with their salesperson and what he said they could do for our pool and spa resurfacing. This was in October (months into COVID times). We signed a contract for their services and were told that they they could likely start in mid-December. By the time we got to December, we were told they could start the work by mid February. As mid February approached, we contacted them to ensure they were starting as planned. We were told that there was an issue with the permit being lost by the County of Marin - they said they submitted November 17 and we were told by the county they received a permit request on February 11 (3 days before they were supposed to start). They then told us because of the permit, they couldn't start as planned and they would start in a few weeks. As mid-March arrived, they came and drained our pool, completely blasted all of the plaster and cane that same week to connect two lights with wires but the lights are still in boxes covered with plastic. That was the last we saw of them until today, April 19. When they didn't show up as planned the week after demolition in March, we contacted them repeatedly and we were told that the reason for the delay was the tile we selected (that when we selected we were told it was a good tile that was pretty popular). One would think if there was a backorder delay they would initiate contacting us to let us know and to suggest alternatives they also threw in that the coping was also delayed. We demanded a timeline that they provided. They were supposed to return to work on the resurfacing of the pool starting 4/14 with and end date of 4/27. That was last week. When they were contacted on Tuesday before they were supposed to return to complete the job on Wednesday, we were told the tile was still delayed so they would begin on Monday, April 19 and would complete the job this week. Today,, when the crew showed up, we got a call saying that the tiles were still on backorder (they did not mention that last week) and that now the rest of the job would need to wait until next week - the week of April 26 and completing it "soon" after that. We have owned multiple homes and have worked with multiple contractors and NONE have been either as incompetent or dishonest as Adams Pool Solutions and their crew from top to bottom. The lack of communication unless we contacted them has been incredibly unprofessional. We will NEVER EVER recommend this company for any reason. They have not been honest, they have not followed their promise that when the work began it would be completed in three weeks. Of course they never mentioned that they would not begin the project for about 5 months or we would never have signed on with them in the first place. We are now talking to an attorney to help us bring this disaster to an end. read more

Well, Adam's pulled through in the niche of time. They stayed tight on our job through the final phases, working well with the Concrete outfit (100% Concrete, who was excellent), to get it done JUST in time for my drop-dead date for my twin girl's birthday party. The problem really seems to have been scheduling.. and we did call and talk to management-- the 'long pole' item was a delay from the coping manufacturer that really lost us FOUR WEEKS. I think we were lucky we were local to the Pleasanton office or we would have blown away our dates. Due to this not going as smooth as I'd have liked -- I considered 3 stars.. but the quality of the work is excellent. The pool looks fantastic, the equipment and plumbing seems top-notch, and the craftsmanship of the work crews seemed excellent as well. I definitely can't comlain about the end product here. read more

We are a large apartment complex in Petaluma and hired Adams Pool Solutions to resurface our small pool. The job started in January and was not finished until July (they knew our tenants would expect it to be done in May which is when both our pools open each year!). The whole process was like pulling teeth; it was hard to get someone to return phone calls and when I did talk to someone, they weren't very professional and always wanted another payment! The person I talked with at their office always had to be reminded of what I had previously called her about, obviously she never took notes or followed up. The really sad part of the process was when Adams Pool Solutions was responsible for cutting into a pipe causing a skimmer to leak and then trying to charge us for the repair job! Several years ago we moved into a home located on the side of a hill which unfortunately did not have a pre-existing pool. We selected Royal Pools because of their experience building many pools including in more challenging locations including hillsides. Also based on what we had heard from others we felt if there ever was a problem, they would stand behind their product. The other very appealing aspect of working with Royal Pools was that their sales/design person (Mike Blackburn) came up with a beautiful design that really fits well into our landscaping. Fast forward to now, we had an issue with the pool tile. Royal Pools Warranty Dept came out, approved and just completed replacing the tile. read more
