Steve did a fantastic job building my pool. I called him before the pandemic and waited almost a year before giving my pool project to him. Steve is very knowledgeable and has always been prompt at getting back to me no matter what time of day or day of the week. Now I have to say, any large project like this is stressful as there are so many moving parts and covid made it even crazier. There were delays and backorders but my project was still done in about 4 months which was really good considering. We did a rectangular 30x15' with a large tanning ledge, retaining ledger wall with three sheer descents. I upgraded the light to LED color changing and added a small one on the tanning ledge. We also got the automation to control everything from our phones. This is an upgrade if you don't get a hot tub which I didn't know upfront but Steve worked it in! I also opted for white plaster which makes it look modern and classy, and did glass tiles from MSI in Hayward. I get so many compliments on the color scheme and tile. I love the grey modern coping and his supplier was very pleasurable to work with including all the guys that came out. We did a gas heater and are now getting our solar heater installed. This past Saturday we heated it up from 50 degrees and took 24 hours to get it to 85 degrees. The kids swam until 7 pm in the dead of Winter (Jan 2022). This project was well worth the money and time and I'm so happy I went with Steve to build it. It's truly a work of art. read more

Steve was recommended to us, so we reached out and spoke to Steve who put me in touch with their salesperson, Donald. From the beginning we were very impressed with their sales presentation. Donald came to our house dressed professionally, was polite and provided multiple samples of the materials that would be used to build the pool and the price was right compared to other quotes we received. Needless to say, we signed on with AQP to build our pool. Our pool build was delayed due to massive rains. Even though Steve COULD HAVE started excavation with a very saturated ground, he chose to wait to ensure a quality and stable base. Excavation started April 5th and the pool was finished June 9th. Steve was very personable and in constant communication with us throughout the entire process. Any questions we had (and we had many) he was always happy to answer and took his time going over things, sometimes going over the same thing multiple times for us (sometimes on the weekend and after business hours). Communication is key for me, and Steve shared that same value. If there was ever an issue with scheduling, materials or late additions, Steve never stumbled. For example, we had travertine coping installed. After installation, I noticed one piece that did not match all the other pieces. I called Steve and without argument and no questions asked, had it replaced the next day. I also had some additions added late in the process, for example, I added linear pool tile on all the steps and Steve had it installed the next day. The sub-contractors that Steve used were solid, professional, cleaned up after themselves, and got their work done on schedule. They were all approachable and answered any questions we had about the work they were doing. ADP only builds the pool. We were on our own for the pool decking and thought we found a solid company to complete the pool deck for us. However, I ended up terminating the contract with that company and needed a new concrete company. I went to Steve for help, and he immediately connected us with someone he recommended, and the pool deck was done within a week. Our advice: Just ask Steve for a recommendation on a pool decking or any other pool related projects so your build time is seamless without a lot of down time in between steps of the build. We are so happy with our pool and even after completion, Steve has contacted us a few times to ensure the pool is operating without issue. It's nice that he isn't a "It's done so I'm done" person. Very happy with our pool from Aqua Dream Pools. We reached out after a referral from a friend and Steve connected us with Lee, who is the lead in our area. Lee came out and was super helpful in understanding what we wanted in our pool and designed it perfectly. The process takes a while from signing the contract to permit to construction but Aqua and their sub-contractors were very efficient once we got the permit. Total construction time was a little over two months. We also preferred Aqua because they use Hayward Products for the equipment, which is known as the best in the industry. After construction completed, we got a great training on how to operate the equipment, maintenance, etc. Since then, I've kept in touch with Lee for any questions and he's always been great to make the time for me. Where do I start? We had a really fabulous experience with Steven and Aqua Dream Pools. Steve was super responsive to any communication throughout the process and even when the pool was finished and there were last minute little things that needed attending he was there to help me. In the beginning I went through SO many pool design concepts and he was there to direct me. He had no problems making changes to the design until I was happy. Then when it came time to pull permits (it was during lock down and Covid), he called the Oakland City every day until we got our permit and it ended up coming way faster than anticipated. The pool was done just in time to enjoy it at the end of summer and now our extended Summer this Fall. The quality of the work is top notch, and the equipment they have installed to run the pool system is also top of the line. Their pricing is very fair. When we were deciding on a company to choose we met with 2 other pool contractors besides Aqua Dream Pools and Aqua Dream Pools was the least expensive AND gave me the most information and confidence about the whole pool construction process. It was a no brainer going with them, and I'm very very happy we did. We are totally in love with the pool and landscaping around it (which Steve also helped me find the right person for the job to do the hardscape around the pool with all the correct drainage needed etc). Aqua Dream Pools just recently finished building our swimming pool... Despite all the challenges posed by Covid, Steve was able to work through everything and still get our pool built faster than almost anyone else could have... Our backyard was small, without much clearance on either side of the house to bring in the tools for excavation, but Steve was able to work through it all... Everything about the pool is awesome... From the fact that I can control most pool features from my phone (lights, pump, heater, water shears), to the fact that he uses top of the line equipment (including a salt system for chlorination), I am extremely happy with the results... Loved Steve, he is great! Generally responsive, excited, interested in the progress of your project and his contractors are great. They started April 1 and finished late July. Timing was great and we are very happy with the end result. However....... we were left feeling we didn't know how to respond to some things when the sub-contractors came by to do work and Steve wasn't available (on-site), or when things were already discussed and Steve didn't remember we had already discussed them. (EX. they installed a raised wall but didn't "finish" the back which meant excessive concrete would be left and wouldn't look "nice" after we planted around the walls) or when we said we wanted solar and the solar was not taken care of so WE had to call the company to make sure there was a date for installation and then follow-up. We're paying A LOT of money for our pool and should expect that the things we initially ask for are being taken care of and any item that is not included is discussed ahead of time, as to avoid these type of issues. Side note: go with a salt system, but avoid the ozone system, you really don't need both.....and especially if you don't have a spa. Research it!!! read more

You have any questions about design, length, depth, pool equipment, how much your gas/electric and water will be etc, he is your guy. Now we have an amazing pool! We use it alllll the time. Sorry about the only one photo, and not the best. Didn't think to take more then, and now we have baby fence up which never helps the look. So giving a good review for two things especially. A respectable amount cheaper than our other quote, and the overall quality after all said and done. Minor gripes for the overall length of the project, communication between subcontractors/different parties, needing to initiate communication sometimes to get updates, and cleanup after one of the subcontractors (concrete). BUT, I fully understand and take into account the context of Covid creating chaos at all levels. Steve (owner) is friendly, efficient, and responsive. Armando (foreman/project coordinator) and cousin Lalo were really nice guys, worked really hard, and did their best to coordinate the chaos. They really make a substantial project come together! All in all, I recommend on price and quality. I also recommend don't be afraid to take the lead in communication and clarifying the project/contract. They will be responsive and honest. The pool turned out well, but we lost many plants (even though they assured us they would dig them up and not kill them) and two citrus trees (no promises made but I feel they cut away too much of the roots) from the construction. The design process was pretty rough - nobody knew how best to handle our slightly sloped yard and the retaining wall, they ended up digging out some of the yard to make it level around the pool. A few things that I thought would have been handled differently the first time (common sense) weren't, but they tried to make them right. We had some irrigation done in connection with this project by his landscaper and had problems from the beginning, and they still haven't fixed it several months later. I didn't like the way Steve and his landscaper/cement guy seemed to blame each other for problems (no one took responsibility). Also we had to pay quite a bit extra for removing a boulder that was found during excavation, even though we had already paid extra for "finding rock/granite". Sad that most people only have one pool built, so only one chance to pick a good contractor. It's not like you can hire someone different "next time" -- there is no next time! I felt like we were just another customer and were not given the kind of "customer service" I expected for such a huge and expensive project. We had to consider this project for many years before deciding to do it. With better communication and more supervision, it could have been so much better. Another thing I didn't like was the quote - it was pretty vague and then when we sat down to sign a contract some of the costs changed and things that were included before were now extra charges. Go over your bid and contract with a fine tooth comb before signing anything. Also be very specific about what you want, don't leave anything up to them to decide. read more
