I contacted four companies to get a rate, I requested removal and disposal of a six seat, sectional sofa and chaise, plus some bedroom furniture. Three out of the four companies rates were outrageous! But, these guys hands down, gave me the best deal. And, it was an all inclusive flat rate, unlike the other companies who gave a price range. In addition, Malik was so wonderful, that he agreed to do the pick up the following day, a Sunday! They promptly arrived, and without delay got to work taking the sectional apart. Then before I knew it, in approximately 35-40 minutes, they were all packed up and ready to go. I was super pleased with their courteous personalities, job performance, and no gimmicks, flat rate. Don't hesitate to try them out for yourselves. You won't be disappointed!

Would I recommend Right Tough Movers to a friend? Yes…read more Miles and Jada were helpful and clear with the quote, booking, and satisfying the building requirements for move in (the building was more demanding than any I have seen). They worked with me to find a time on very tight time frame and on a very busy moving day. Getting this completed with a reasonable quote was unexpected in a good way. The moving crew was punctual and finished the job under the time estimate. I was happy. Two things that will make your move easier: -Clarify payment method before your moving day. For my move they wanted cash paid to the moving crew the day of the move. Have the cash ready to reduce stress. -If you quote a move for just boxes, have all small items in medium to large boxes that can roll on dollys.

It was a total nightmare. The short summary is they massively over charged, demanded payment…read morebefore unloading the truck- In cash without warning, they kept up charging for things that didn't need wrapping (a cat scratcher made of cardboard- $100). The things we paid to have wrapped that were important were broken by the movers. This was a really terrible and stressful experience. They seemed to have no idea how to move anything, flat screen TV's left balanced against walls on their screens. Mirrors shattered, my couch had a foot sized hole in the bottom of it, a framed picture printed on gallery aluminum was dented and scratched beyond repair. We lost glasses and bowls that were individually wrapped and in divided cardboard boxes with "fragile glass" written on the side. Wine that was marked as wine was balanced 3 boxes high on furniture legs (we managed to save them and put them in a car instead). The worst part was despite these 4 guys being paid by the hour they just kept complaining the whole time. Four big dudes show up and one is super aggressive from the start about the job being too big for them. My 115lb wife could carry every one of those boxes. It was a 4 story 1 bedroom walk up. We had every single item packed in boxes and no oversized furniture. They kept telling us it was a 9 hour job (We were quoted 4.5 hours) and before they would unload the truck they insisted I give them $1800, the original quote was for $750. They ended up finishing after just 5 hours and refused to give any of the money back. The management company would not take our calls on the day and would not return them after. If you want to have guys standing over you and your wife intimidating you, extorting you and breaking your stuff then this is the company for you. They were wiping their sweat with paper towels and toilet paper and dropping it on the floor for us to pick up after. They managed to take multiple breaks to have a shit. Every time we turned around they were sitting down or talking on their phones. They damaged our walls and our stuff. To top it all off when we were quoted the guys at Right Touch kept saying we would have nothing to worry about, they would disassemble and reassemble everything. These guys literally dumped everything in a pile on the floor in the lounge room and left, we had to beg them to carry the mattress up the stairs because I couldn't do that alone. We found some boxes left in the lobby of the new apartment after they left. We were being really nice to them because it was a move on a hot day with stairs, we bought them some water and Gatorade from the bodega and encouraged them to take breaks if they needed but that turned into a break every single time they moved something, even a box of pillows (I'm not kidding). Everything about this was terrible and the management literally wouldn't call us back to offer any explanation and to top it all off they showed up late and at the wrong address. At the end before they walked out they stood over us and made us sign a release saying nothing was broken and insisted that nothing was. As soon as they were out the door we started to find things scratched, smashed and damaged. Comparing this to the last move we did with the same stuff into the same apartment this was night and day. Double the price, so much damage and the attitude was terrible. I took pictures and shared them by email with management and they simply wont respond. We tried to call them during the move but instead they called the movers and told them we were complaining about them which just made it worse. Toni talks and talks when you are getting the quote, he'll tell you all sorts of stories about his dialysis and long term marriage and about what a great company this is but then will lie, not listen and refuse to talk to you. We were happy to pay and happy with the quote by the hour but I simply don't have any clup how this cost $1800 for just over 5 hours work with all those breaks and all that time spent arguing with us about how long it would take. I really can't say anything nice about this company or these movers. See the pictures attached.

Disappointing Experience - Be Cautious if You're a Young Couple…read more Many people recommended Best Guy for our move from New York to Israel, so we hired them. The original quote was for under 200 cubic feet. After packing at our apartment, it jumped to 300, and once it reached the warehouse, it increased again to 400 -- double the original estimate. We had even signed a document stating the total wouldn't exceed 20% above the quote, yet it went far beyond that. To his credit, Guy did split the difference with us, which we appreciated, but the process was inconsistent and stressful. When our shipment arrived, around 25 books, my college diploma, and other items were damaged -- clearly from poor packing, not transport. The loss was just under $1,000, yet we were only offered $150 as "goodwill," and later $75 more after we involved a lawyer. Guy was friendly, but overall the experience was disappointing. Other young couples we know had similar issues with inaccurate quotes. If you have a big household move, Best Guy may be fine, but for smaller shipments or young couples, look elsewhere.

We had to get a couch up some stairs to our apartment AND THEN in through a small doorway that -- by all details on paper -- shouldn't have made it up the stairs, let alone in through the doorway. The dimensions just didn't match. But every step of the way, Paul and Rich were chatting with me on the phone, being both honest and transparent, but also reassuring that they think they have a way to make it work. And work it did!! We are now the proud and cozy owners of a new couch. They were friendly, quick, professional (seriously, they had some real tricks to get this monster in here), clean, and efficient. We were blown away how quickly and easy they made this look. I heard about their service from a family member who has worked with these guys multiple times. She spoke really highly of them. And for me, I definitely won't hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needs help moving. And!! The quote we received from them was both realistic and affordable. Out of several other name movers here in the city, their price was on the lower end of our budget, and honestly with the work they do... they deserve more than what we paid. It feels like a true family business working with them, which I really appreciate in a city like ours. Thanks so much guys!! You'll definitely be hearing from us when moving day comes again.
