We stopped at Adair Kitchen before going to the Alley Theater. Terrible choice. We ordered fried asparagus...it was not seasoned and was burnt. My wife order the pecan crusted chicken, it was worse than a sad, frozen dinner. I had the steak, it tasted weird and the fries were served cold. We had to get silverware and napkins on our own, since the wait staff did not bring it to us. This place is horrible...don't dare got to Adair Kitchen. You will regret the decision. read more

The manager was really rude to me when the espresso came out and it looked black. I was trying to explain to her that espresso should have crema and that it should look golden. Not black. She kept telling me that she can add cream to it but I asked for espresso and espresso is black coffee. Really? Espresso is black coffee? She was so rude and instead of apologizing and maybe trying to learn from me what the espresso should look like so that they can improve and actually serve decent espresso , she walked away saying she will remove it from the bill. Shameful, very shameful. You should not be in customer service. read more

I once went to Adair many years ago and remember being very satisfied with my order (I think it was a salad or something?). However, recently my friend got us to go lunch from Adair - the half sandwich half soup combo for both of us. The sandwiches were incredibly disappointing! I felt like could have made a better sandwich at home. They were just grilled chicken sandwiched between dry sandwich bread. I'm not sure if it's just because we ordered to go, but it was really sad to see lol. Plus she ordered a chicken salad sandwich, which is not one of the sandwiches we received. The soups on the other hand were pretty good (lemon artichoke and turkey chili), which is why I've given 3 instead of 2 stars. That along with I have a good memory of the first time I went. I guess I wouldn't recommend ordering the sandwiches to go because you will definitely not be satisfied. read more

NETS NETS! Do not sit by the bar or AT the bar. Had to fight with nets while eating. One of the employees was nice to give me a fresh meal after seeing me eat uncomfortably, however that was not the issue nor the solution. read more

Loved this place! Been here about three or four times and it's always worth the wait. I've had the Belgium waffle and it definitely beats out IHOP or Dennys (hard to beat Dennys). It's always fresh and delicious. On other occasions for lunch I've had the superfood salad and it's wonderful and full of flavor. I've tried the veggie bowl as well, it's powerful tangy flavor stays with you. The black bean burger with sweet potato fries was AWESOME if you like black bean burgers. I liked it because it came garnished with all the right veggies which added flavor. It wasn't the BEST veggie burger I've ever had but I enjoyed it. There will be a wait so be prepared. read more

Adair Kitchen - Sweet potato fries to die for! And black bean burger - New American Near Me - Houston, Texas

1130 AM on a Thursday and there's already a line out the door! I've been wanting to come here for a while since it's so cute but haven't gotten the chance until now. It's the perfect place for a nice lunch/brunch date for sure. Service was quick and staff was friendly. I got my salad 5 min after ordering and sitting down. I love how they have such a variety of healthy options. I've been going low/no carb and this was the perfect place to go out and not break my diet. I ordered the goat cheese & blackberry salad ($9.95+$2.50 to add chicken). It was AMAZING!! And that's a pretty decent compliment considering its only a salad. The grilled chicken was cooked perfectly. It wasn't dry at all, it was actually pretty moist! There was also plenty of it in my salad. They definitely didn't hold back which a plus in my book. The champagne vinaigrette was light and a nice addition to the salad. The goat cheese complimented the blackberries which also added a nice refreshing, sweet component. I would give this salad a 5/5 for sure. Overall, will definitely be back to try other entrees. It's such a cute spot! read more

I like the quick seating and the mocha was heaven. Food and atmosphere was good. Will be back if I'm in the area.

My wife's meal was cold, particularly the hash browns. We asked for a fresh order. They were cold too. No manager in site. We like this place and my waffle and fried chicken was great. We normally love the hash browns. Slightly disappointing. read more

My niece had picked this place out for us to have a lovely brunch during our stay in Houston and we were so excited to try it out but something seemed off the whole time we were there. From the beginning on getting some dirty looks from the customers while waiting in line to the girl ringing us up not cracking a smile. The vibe was definitely off and the food wasn't even that great. Dry bland chicken and waffles for me and miniature salty farmer's skillet for her. We ended up ordering a pitcher of mimosas to relieve the tension of the judgy vibes but ended up leaving instead. Y'all need some sun and happiness in there, would definitely not come back. read more

I came for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon and there was a line out the door! We waited around 15 mins but it went faster than expected. I haven't sampled much here but from what I've tried, this is food you can literally make at home. Maybe that's why people like it...pay someone to make what you could make yourself. Kalelujah- ok i'm a health nut but this was way too healthy for me. It tastes literally like its ingredients..so if you're a junk food enthusiast, steer away! haha I was expecting more of a Jamba Juice smoothie but I forgot it's a juice. $8-$9 for a cup of green juice? I'd rather eat steamed veggies. The ginger is very apparent so if you don't like ginger, beware! Chicken and waffles-Tasted good but it wasn't anything special. I can make the same thing from my waffle maker...and top the chicken from chick-fil-a :P I loved the syrup though..it tasted sweeter or just more tasty for some reason. Chicken Pesto PIta-It was really plain. There were parts of the pita that didn't have the sauce so it just tasted like chicken and veggies. There was a mound of food on the pita, so it was hard to eat. I tried to eat it like a taco but I ended up just eating the chicken with a fork. Sweet Potato fries-Sadly they were soggy! My friend likes soggy fries so I guess that's a thing! This place was LOUD and packed so I wouldn't recommend this place for an intimate date or deep conversation. read more

I LOVE Adair so much. I'm so glad a co worker of mine told me about this place. It focuses on whole, high quality and fresh ingredients. It's located in the same shopping center as Randall's, in the back so it can be hard to find. If you come for lunch, you order at the counter, pay and they bring your food out to you. For dinner, you actually get seated and there's a waiter. This place is soooo cute--a rustic chic feel, bright, and overall a nice ambiance. I've been here more than 10x and I've gotten the same thing every time (creature of habit) but my friends have tried other things and all positive feedback! I get the superfood bowl with chicken and or shrimp (sometimes I sub the brown rice for more kale if I'm feeling extra healthy). The superfood bowl comes with brown rice, kale, protein, red onion, cucumber, avocado, cherry tomatoes and almonds with a miso green dressing (always ask on the side so you use it to your liking). SO FREAKING DELICIOUS. And the price isn't bad either, around $11 depending on your protein. They also have fresh juices which are kind of not that great and pricy (as expected). They also have really tasty desserts/baked goods too! I highly highly recommend this place. I tell all my friends about this place and there hasn't been one single complaint. Adair never disappoints. read more

The food at Adair has yet to fail me. Everything I have tried (breakfast and lunch) has been excellent. I highly recommend the chorizo avocado toast and the goat cheese Turkey burger - truly the best Turkey burger I've had!! If you love coffee, the lattes are great too. I never leave this place without a latte in hand. read more

Driest Buffalo burger I ever tasted. And I ordered it medium-rare. Otherwise, nice place, good service.

We dined here yesterday for what we thought brunch but didn't realize the cutoff us 2/2:30. Once you arrive you glance at the menu (either on the wall to your R or on the table), order your food/drinks at the register, pay, they'll hand you a number then find a seat. Once your order is ready they'll bring it and pick up your number. The lunch menu was available so I ordered the 1/2 soup and sandwich. The soup of the day was turkey chili and the sandwich I chose was turkey with cheddar and apple butter. There was also a menu of $7 Happy Hour specials on the wall that included some good options. To drink I ordered a blackberry mojito. There's a small area of fountain drinks and water (self serve). About 3 minutes later the drink arrived then about 5 minutes later the food came. The drink was really tasty and the chili was seasoned to perfection! The sandwich not so much. It was toasted but not very warm or anything special to write about. Adair seems like a good spot for those residing in the area with healthy options and bit of kick. I loved the in and outside seating and decor of the place- a classy spot with a laid back feel. If I'm in the area I may return to try their brunch foods. read more

Even though this is in a strip center, the moment you walk in you feel like your in someone's house eating lunch. The salads were so good! A friend and I went and the only small tiny complaint is we felt like the amount of veggies they put on the salad could be a little more. But everything was super fresh, healthy and they were very accommodating for allergies. read more

I think I have me new brunch spot. If you are in the #houstongalleria area you have to stop in @adair_kitchen for a bite to eat. The restuarant is clean and cozy. And their food uses top quality ingredients, fresh, and most importantly delicious. My wife and I ordered the avocado and chorizo toast with egg and it came with a side which she ordered has browns and I ordered a cup of fruit. They used a sourdough bread and it soaked up the yolk of the egg and was so mouthwatering. I also ordered and whole wheat banana pancake with berries. And it too was healthy and good. Don't be alarmed by the line out the door, it moves quickly and tables turn fast so you should find a table after ordering. read more

Good place but nothing to write home about. I liked the chicken and waffles and the chipotle snapper tacos. The service wasn't great but other than that food was good. If you're in the area and wanting brunch come by but it's not something I'd go super out of my way to have. read more

Coming into Adair, I had high hopes for this restaurant since a colleague raved about their brunch menu - little did I know brunch differs drastically from dinner. Before you read further, the one star rating is heavily rated upon their ceviche appetizer because I find it to be an insult to the preparation of food and to opening a restaurant. Personally, I strongly believe dining out is an experience. It is an enjoyment (if you're going there for a nice meal), and you are looking forward to tasting how an expert or experienced person in the kitchen treats the ingredient. You can say that I should have known better than to order ceviche at a non seafood specialty restaurant. I thought I would give this appetizer a try because why not? Surprise me right? Little did I know I was unpleasantly surprised...When I took the first bite of the ceviche, I thought "Flavor isn't bad - nice balance of acid from the lime and tomatoes". As I slowly chewed, the red snapper was more than dead. I assumed the fish was cooked even before being combined together with the acid! Holy sht, are you kidding me? I had to google Ceviche to make sure that you use the freshest, raw fish to make the dish. It has shrimp in there and that was dead too. The seafood died for us and we killed it furthermore - how disrespectful. This is what we ordered: -Bowl of tortilla soup: too acidic from the tomato and will never order again -Chicken and waffles: This one was edible but I would not come back just for this dish. It wasn't mind blowing. All in all, Adair is a been there, done that deal. read more

came for dinner but i should really come for brunch because those were the options that called to me! But what can you do? Skip the texas trio appetizer: chips are stale and thin, queso and salsa are watery and guac had no flavor. their ribeye was off the menu but was very flavorful and had the perfect bite when ordered medium. Their steak frites left alot to be desired; the fries were on the cold side and the steak itself was chewy and too cold when ordered medium rare. the side salad it was served with was sour. waitstaff was very kind but on the slow side. but the place is nicely decorated and even though theres alot of seating we had to wait for a table. probably a nice place to take company but i would not come back for what i had tasted today. I'll give this place another try for the brunch items that caught my eye. read more

Really disappointed with the service I received today. I ordered a kale and Brussels sprouts salad but the cashier rang up a kale and quinoa salad. I mentioned it to them and they said they would replace. Instead of making a new salad that was the correct salad, they scooped out the quinoa and dumped Brussels sprouts on top of the kale and handed it back over to me. Literally the same salad with bits of quinoa left in there and some Brussels sprouts thrown on top. They are two different salads so I really expected better service than that. Please treat your customers than that. read more

Pretty place. Good sucks. Bland, less than great ingredients. Pastries are rock hard and dry.

Always love coming here for a well-priced, delicious brunch! This time I tried the Farmer's Market Skillet and, as always, Adair did NOT disappoint! The sweet potatoes were caramelized and sooo savory, my overeasy egg was truly overeasy (not too runny, not too hard), and the chorizo melted in my mouth. The service was also impeccable - we bantered for a bit with the staff while ordering, and they were very accommodating when I wanted a few substitutes to my order. I also tried their grapefruit mimosa and was very impressed with the size and strength of the drink. Overall, Adair Kitchen is a really solid brunch spot with friendly staff, delicious menu items, and really decent prices (especially given the location!). read more

On a friends' recommendation over 3 years ago, my wife and I decided to check out Adair Kitchen. The menu was so diverse and interesting that we had a hard time deciding what to get... Oh, let me back up. The restaurant has two "settings." During lunch, you grab a menu and order at the counter, find a seat, and wait for your dish to be delivered to your table. In the evening, there is wait staff and an overly pleasant dining experience. So many wonderful things to be said... The food is phenomenal! Between my wife and I (mostly me), we have covered the entire menu of deliciousness. My personal favorite, is the Honey Mustard + Avocado sandwich (minus the honey mustard) for lunch and the Salmon with mashed potatoes and asparagus for dinner. OMG! So Good! My wife loves and orders the Super Food Bowl with a black bean patty religiously! Considering we are in there at least 2-3 times a week for the past 3+ years, I am still surprised we do not have our own button on the register. Hah! All things aside, Adair Kitchen is hands down the best overall dining experience for any occasion I have eaten at. Highly recommended in all fashions for any circumstances. PS - I have to praise the staff for a moment. I have never felt so comfortable at a restaurant. We are on the run often and eat out way too much. I know what it feels like when you are "being an annoyance by simply being there." If you've ever experienced this, you know what I am speaking of. Adair (and it's many sister restaurants... Besty's, Eloise Nichols, Bebidas) have NEVER made me feel this way. They are always happy to see customers, new and old. To Whom it may concern at Adair HQ, Kate runs an amazing staff of employees. There are not enough words to describe how fantastic Sara, Tayrn, Anna, Roy, and Carlos are. They are always pleasant, smiling, and happy to see you. You have my sincere gratitude for finding and holding onto such a great staff! Sincerely, Daniel Jackson read more

I've been meaning to bring the boyfriend here since they've opened because I've heard they have a killer Chicken & Waffle. Pulling up, you're in a pretty huge lot with plenty of parking for everyone. Decent signage, and a nice little patio if you'd like to sit outside and swelter in the Texas heat. Inside, it's a huge, wide open space with registers along the right and the kitchen along the back. There's a huge, huge fan in the middle of the ceiling. It's a nice space. Country Industrial? Industrial Chic Kitsch? I dunno if that makes sense, but once you've seen it, you'll know I'm right. You place your order at the register, take a number, get your drink, and have a seat. They deliver their food to you. The staff at the registers were pretty busy this morning, and weren't the friendliest, but they weren't rude either. A smile never hurts. After getting our drinks, we circled around to find a table. No go. It was busy. The only empty spots was the counter top near the front door. Not a problem, but the stools were not the most comfortable. On the smaller side for my backside. As predicted, my boo got the chicken and waffle. I got an omelette with chorizo and spinach. He claims the coffee was pretty good. His chicken (tenders, not on the bone) was crunchy and well seasoned. His waffle was crunchy on the out and tender in the middle. His only complaint as he wolfed it down was that they didn't give him enough syrup. Most places will give you the syrup to poor yourself. This one doesn't. My omelette was good. If not on the anemic side. Toast was excellent and the jam they provided was tasty. The hashbrowns? I don't know what they do to the hashbrowns, but MAN. MANNNN. They were creamy and delicious. I've never had hashbrowns like this. I could have eaten my weight in these things. I'd like to go back at an earlier time and beat the rush. And have hashbrowns. Lots of them. read more

J and I went for a weekday lunch -- the line was long, but it moved at a decent pace. You stand in line to order at the counter, then seat yourself after ordering. (Dinner may be different) I liked the ambiance and decor. I tried the turkey goat cheese burger, given the good reviews from other Yelpers. Sadly, it was a tad on the dry side, and the other ingredients in the burger weren't enough to compensate for the dryness of the turkey patty & the bun -- overall, a bit disappointing. The sweet potato fries were pretty good, light to medium on the crunch factor. J seemed to enjoy his chicken club sandwich. Given the high ratings that Adair Kitchen has gotten, I'd be open to returning to try something different from the menu -- but I won't be ordering any turkey burgers again in the future! read more

We ordered at the register (breakfast and lunch only) and took a numbered table tent. Then found a place to sit. It wasn't over crowded but the restaurant was full. Self serve for most beverages except for lattes, espressos, and smoothies. We didn't wait long for our food to arrive.
