Amazing! I've never had a bad meal at Acropolis. I've had several of their menu items and honestly, it's so difficult for me to pick one favorite. The roasted cauliflower and eggplant are delicious and full of flavor! It's great to see/taste vegetables that are given as much love as the main course or meat. Other recommendations are the baked feta, spanakopita, kofta, roasted chicken, and of course their baklava! They have two varieties of baklava. One is drizzled with orange blossom honey and the other is regular honey-both are delicious, however I prefer the orange blossom. I'd also recommend the Meze plate as an appetizer. It's reasonably priced and definitely large enough to share, it includes: spanakopita, tiropita, meat pita, stuffed grape leaves (dolmathes), hummus, tzatziki, feta dip, pita bread, and grilled veggies. The ambience is nice and on some nights they play live Greek music! The staff is friendly and attentive. Acropolis is highly recommend! Favorites- Appetizer: Spanakopita and pita with hummus Main course: Kofta with roasted cauliflower and eggplant. A side of pita bread is included and it's so wonderful to scoop up the eggplant and tomato sauce from the kofta! Dessert: Baklava!! read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat. I always get the gyro plate and love it. The food tasted fine but I have an awful case of food poisoning. I noticed this wasn't the first time someone has gotten food poisoning at this establishment, so BEWARE!! I woke up with vomiting and diarrhea (tmi sorry) and have been miserable all day. I frequented this place a few times. I concocted my own meal, but each time I ate here I had horrible service from the waitress. Mostly her attitude was nasty, she waited on others before me and I was first, she had a nasty vibe when I asked for plastic after watching her touch silverware with her hands and wrap them in napkins. One particular day I was done and asked for someone else to help me instead of her. The owner happened to be there and he said he would do it while also reminding me that she has a black man so she can't be racist. Firstly, I never said she was racist but he implied this idea. When confronted by the owner in front of me her attitude continued and she walked off as if he was NOT her superior. The line cook in the back came from the kitchen and served me from beginning to end. He has always been very nice. Needless to say this was the last time I patronized this restaurant. Another great meal at Acropolis tonight. After a great meal I tried the "caramel macchiato" coffee! I'll never be the same!

I've been here several times with family, friends, and for business. Each time the food was delicious and the wait staff was friendly, courteous, and accurate! There is a quaint older couple that sings Greek music live on the weekends and really makes it a cultural event in our community. If you haven't tried it yet, order the flaming saganaki... they bring a delicious cheese, you say Opa!, and they light it on fire to melt. Talk about impressive! Love this place! read more

We have been here for lunch a lot. The service isn't that great. The waitresses never check on us until it's time for the check. One told me the lemon soup has rice in it but it's orzo which is tiny pasta. The lunch menu has great choices and we love the food so we keep coming back. read more

This place is a secret soft romantic spot for the Killeen area. The atmosphere and ambiance is very nice, food is even better! There's a reason why this place has received "One of the Killeen's Best vote", although I believe it should have received the "Best." The service here is professional, fast, and welcoming. My favorite lunch options here is: Greek Salad with Chicken- You receive REAL grilled chicken with your salad. None of that freshly FROZEN and we just warmed it up meat. You also get a hefty portion when ordering this. Gyro plate- I love the lamb gyro from Acropolis! It is really a big sandwich but it's so good that when I'm finished, I'm disappointed that I ate it so fast. lol There are many other dishes that I can speak on but I just felt compelled to come on here quick and write a short review to vouch for this place has my go to Greek and any day of the week spot for quality food in Killeen. read more

Ate there and the food was fine but all at the table ordered the same lemon soup and it arrived lukewarm. The waitress did remove them and brought them back warm but let's say nothing else like an apology. The bill came and we got over charged (extra appetizer) and instead of canceling the bill they just refunded the overcharged item. Let's say the tip had to reflect the less then stellar service. This place is so good! My husband wants to eat there every time we come into town. The staff is always really nice too! I am trying to be vegan and when the soup choices were not, the chef made some really good grilled vegetables for me. They were amazing! My husband always gets the Mediterranean Gyro. I called to place an order for pick up and was put on hold which wasnt a problem at first. 15 minutes go by and still no one returned to the phone to take my order and I hear them talking and stuff moving around. 20 minutes later I just gave up and ended the call. Since leaving Europe, I've been on the lookout for a good Greek restaurant. Too often, I am disappointed by my experiences. Most "Greek" places offer a menu of gyro on pita and gyro plates and other stuff...with pita bread. There is so much more to Greek food than gyros. While Acropolis has the obligatory gyro wrap and plate, they at least have a wider variety of offerings. The menu has the expected spanakopita, saganaki, moussaka etc etc, but they also have a few Greek inspired dishes. What's missing, for me, is the variety of seafood...octopus, sardines, smelt etc. But I understand...this is central Texas. Those items aren't exactly readily available at the local fishmonger. For me, the stars of the meal were the appetizers. The spanakopita and meat pita were delightfully flaky and generously filled. The flaming saganaki was delicious. The char from the flambe contrasted by the creaminess of the cheese, the saltiness of the cheese with the acidity of the lemon. This dish has it all. The dolmathes, although flavorful, fell short on texture. I found the rice to be overcooked. I decided to order the moussaka. It was just ok for me. Instead of the distinct layers of potato, eggplant, meat, and bechamel...this version was just kind of a homogenized "soup". The texture of the potato and eggplant had been obliterated by overcooking. The bechamel became pasty once it cooled down. And the dish was just a little overpowered by too much nutmeg. I suppose if I had been less aware of the traditional Greek preparation of this dish, I probably would have been pleased, as were my dining companions. For me, the dish just fell a little short. This is of course just a personal preference and by no means a deal breaker. There are a number of menu items I look forward to trying. I look forward to the pastitsio. I just hope it has the distinct layers I'm looking for. If worse comes to worse, I can always enjoy myself with a table full of appetizers. read more

Acropolis is my absolute favorite restaurant in the county. Firstly, I'll state that service is ALWAYS good. I've never seen any of their servers have an off day. I've tried most of the menu out over time, but my standard order is the gyro wrap with a side of lentil soup. I'm not exaggerating at all when I say that this is my favorite meal in the entire world. It's always out super quick, and I've admittedly been so over come by how good it is, it almost makes me want to cry. I've never eaten anything I didn't like there, but if you're there for the first time and don't know much about Greek food, I highly recommend my usual. This place will stand out in my brain for the rest of my life. If you find yourself checking Acropolis out online before trying it out, just grab your keys and get over there. read more

I came in since I was craving for some Greek food especially a gyro. I came inside and really like the atmosphere and the setting. Very clean, neat and relaxing. I was greeted by my waitress named Tatiana, who was very nice and courteous. She always kept my drinks filled and kept checking how I was doing. I decided to order the gyro plate with a side of rice and salad. When my food came out it smelled great! I ate the gyro lamb meat which was very good. The rice was good but slightly dry but nothing to complain. The flat bread was delicious and the Greek salad was great! I do plan to come back again and try their other dishes. read more

If you are looking for amazing Greek/Mediterranean food this is the place to be. They even have selections of alcohol from the region available which was a treat.
