We eat here regularly! My favorite meal is the Mediterranean wrap with grilled chicken and grilled veggies and the salad. The hubs loves the gyro plate/ or the wrap with gyro meat and it's super delicious, too! We ordered gyro plates to go. We clearly didn't order correctly (or maybe it was an off night at the restaurant?). The "meat" (we ordered beef) was questionable, and the salad and potatoes were "eh." Usually things right near an army base are not that good. This place was AMAZING! It is hidden in Harker Heights and is such a gem. We love greek food. Traditional greek food and we were not disappointed one bit. The service was amazing. Our server made great recommendations and made sure we were well taken care of. Greek beer and greek wines to choose from. The atmosphere was romantic and relaxed at the same time. I found a new wine there called Mavrodaphne of Patras, Kourtaki. It is almost like a red port, full of so much fruit and flavor. The food was dynamite. The quality and flavor was all there across the board. We honestly can't wait to go back and try some more of there menu. If you are in the area and you want a really nice meal, this is the place to go. It seems like off of Fort Hood its a lot of chain restaurants that all taste the same. This place is different and really exceeded our expectations. No need to drive to Austin! -------- Update: We went again (July-2015) and the service was good. The food was good, but not great as I remembered. We had the beef pita for an appetizer. We each had the lasagna main dish with two sides. I felt like everything had been cooked really long ago. It just didn't have a fresh taste to it, almost like they heated up my food in the microwave. We came in for lunch and it was busier than we've ever seen it during dinner time. I had to hit the road for work and seeing that it was so crowded I was worried I wouldn't have time to have lunch. Our waitress however did her best to expedite our order and get us in and out quick. She was very aware of our situation and was quite accommodating. read more

Food is delicious. The pictures on the wall are so comforting and the Baklava is to die for! Great little gem here in Harker Heights.

I'm sad to only give 3 stars, last time it was amazing. This time the service was very bad. Didn't check in on me at all and my food was cold and just not very tasteful. had the Greek sampler and things were cold that weren't susposed to be and some was very good. Overall I am very disappointed. I will be back maybe on slow nights they are better. Tonight was a little busy and they were short staffed. Definitely worth another try though. The baked feta was delicious. And the steak was very good too. Nothing was discounted but I'm actually ok with it because I am taking the rest home and the owner did apologize personally. When we first arrived, they had live music and it was very loud. We asked the waitress if it could be turned down, and at first she said no. But then she talked to them and they could turn it down, and it was much more enjoyable. I ordered the moussaka, salad, and dolmas and rice pudding for dessert. The food was impeccable. Absolutely wonderful. The service was great. I believe our waitresses name was Maria...she was fabulous. Went for a late lunch with Mom and the food didn't disappoint. We got the special of the day, the lamb shank. It was fall of the bone tender, juicy & perfectly seasoned. I can't wait to go back for this with the hubby. We also got a salad with a tasty house vinegrette. The stuffed grape leaves were also nicely done. Gyro wrap was huge, talk about bang(or in this case BOOM) for your buck. What stood out to me were the roasted potatoes. They were very flavorful. Food was pretty good. I really enjoyed the chicken. My rating is based off of service. They messed up our order then acted like we didn't order for everyone at the table. They brought my 7 year old kid an adult meal instead of a kids order which was more expensive. Then when they brought my wife's order it was near closing time and they rushed us which wouldn't have happened if they got the orders right. I've had the Greek salads here before which were really good. Today I was pretty put off because I got gyro plate w Greek side salad and eggplant. Gyro was ok, little surprised for $15(with drink) I didn't get two pitas. But my biggest complaint was this horrible "eggplant" was complete mush I couldn't even eat it. Like all seeds and looks like goo. Will be sticking to salads from here from now on when co workers go for lunch runs. read more

Always good food and fast! Great when you don't want to cook and just want to call something in on your way home from work. I have noticed however during the past year that the portions on the chicken plate have been progressively getting smaller which is why I knock down one star. Also I feel that we should not be charged for extra sauce. Sometimes the gyros are just a little too dry and need more sauce. All in all this place is still a solid performer and the food tastes good considering that they are able to have an order ready in 20 minutes or less. read more

This place is a secret soft romantic spot for the Killeen area. The atmosphere and ambiance is very nice, food is even better! There's a reason why this place has received "One of the Killeen's Best vote", although I believe it should have received the "Best." The service here is professional, fast, and welcoming. My favorite lunch options here is: Greek Salad with Chicken- You receive REAL grilled chicken with your salad. None of that freshly FROZEN and we just warmed it up meat. You also get a hefty portion when ordering this. Gyro plate- I love the lamb gyro from Acropolis! It is really a big sandwich but it's so good that when I'm finished, I'm disappointed that I ate it so fast. lol There are many other dishes that I can speak on but I just felt compelled to come on here quick and write a short review to vouch for this place has my go to Greek and any day of the week spot for quality food in Killeen. read more

Amazing! I've never had a bad meal at Acropolis. I've had several of their menu items and honestly, it's so difficult for me to pick one favorite. The roasted cauliflower and eggplant are delicious and full of flavor! It's great to see/taste vegetables that are given as much love as the main course or meat. Other recommendations are the baked feta, spanakopita, kofta, roasted chicken, and of course their baklava! They have two varieties of baklava. One is drizzled with orange blossom honey and the other is regular honey-both are delicious, however I prefer the orange blossom. I'd also recommend the Meze plate as an appetizer. It's reasonably priced and definitely large enough to share, it includes: spanakopita, tiropita, meat pita, stuffed grape leaves (dolmathes), hummus, tzatziki, feta dip, pita bread, and grilled veggies. The ambience is nice and on some nights they play live Greek music! The staff is friendly and attentive. Acropolis is highly recommend! Favorites- Appetizer: Spanakopita and pita with hummus Main course: Kofta with roasted cauliflower and eggplant. I noticed this wasn't the first time someone has gotten food poisoning at this establishment, so BEWARE!! I woke up with vomiting and diarrhea (tmi sorry) and have been miserable all day. I frequented this place a few times. I concocted my own meal, but each time I ate here I had horrible service from the waitress. Mostly her attitude was nasty, she waited on others before me and I was first, she had a nasty vibe when I asked for plastic after watching her touch silverware with her hands and wrap them in napkins. One particular day I was done and asked for someone else to help me instead of her. The owner happened to be there and he said he would do it while also reminding me that she has a black man so she can't be racist. Firstly, I never said she was racist but he implied this idea. When confronted by the owner in front of me her attitude continued and she walked off as if he was NOT her superior. The line cook in the back came from the kitchen and served me from beginning to end. He has always been very nice. Needless to say this was the last time I patronized this restaurant. I've been here several times with family, friends, and for business. Each time the food was delicious and the wait staff was friendly, courteous, and accurate! There is a quaint older couple that sings Greek music live on the weekends and really makes it a cultural event in our community. If you haven't tried it yet, order the flaming saganaki... they bring a delicious cheese, you say Opa!, and they light it on fire to melt. Talk about impressive! Love this place! read more

Ate there and the food was fine but all at the table ordered the same lemon soup and it arrived lukewarm. The waitress did remove them and brought them back warm but let's say nothing else like an apology. The bill came and we got over charged (extra appetizer) and instead of canceling the bill they just refunded the overcharged item. Let's say the tip had to reflect the less then stellar service. This place is so good! My husband wants to eat there every time we come into town. The staff is always really nice too! I am trying to be vegan and when the soup choices were not, the chef made some really good grilled vegetables for me. They were amazing! My husband always gets the Mediterranean Gyro.
