As a follow up, I file a complaint to BBB which got their attention. Ace offered me a 10 year extended warranty for the unit that I did not need and overpaid for and sent me an email that if I did not accept they would turn it over to their lawyers. I accepted their warranty as I really didn't have time or money to deal with them any longer. read more

I spent $1200.00 to have the annual inspection service performed with some parts replaced. Within 60 days I came home to a hot house. I called and they sent a tech out. His first question was if I had been informed that it would cost $80.00 to look at it. Even though I told him I spent all this money within the last 60 days and thought the inspection should be at no additional cost his manager disagreed. I could not believe it. After talking with other AC guys who told me how much they over charged me originally (compared to other local AC Company prices) I told him to leave and I would call another company. I ended up needing a new AC. If I could have proved their negligence in the previous visit and endured the heat I would have reported them and pursued legal action. read more

Do not trust these people had them out to fix AC unit was told it would cost $1200 dollars to completely go through unit. They charged 360 bucks to replace a diode to get unit up and running that day . Next morning unit was dead in the water. This set off red flags and concerns causing me to want a second option called different company there tech found Ace Air employee had disconnected and tucked the compresser hot lead out of way you did read right TUCKED OUT OF THE WAY this was done with intentions of return repair, Called to complain and the lady did not seem to be surprised and tried to send out anouther tech to insure the other company really fixed the prob, Other company did write a letter to this effect stating what was found, there cost $75.00 to fix Ace airs attemp to rip me off!!!! read more

Unfortunately, my Yearly maintenance plan was acquired by these guys so I'm stuck until it expires. They were supposed to be at my house on Saturday but called 20 minutes into the appointment bracket to say they were too busy (translation: too busy with possible PAYING customers) to keep my appointment so they rescheduled for today between 2-5. I waited and waited for their call to appear but NOTHING!! Again, too busy to even make a courtesy call this time. That's ok, I'm done with them. They are high pressure sleazy salesmen of the worst degree and I don't have time for that crap!! I'm totally happy to give another company my money for awesome service!! You should do the same... read more

Tenants claimed that house was not cooling. Ace air came out and diagnosed that there was a clog in the A/C unit. Ace charged us $917 and cleared the clog. After running the A/C for 2 days house would still not cool below 81. Ace is telling us that the A/C unit runs fine and the house is suddenly not insulated appropriately. (the house cooled just fine for 4 years) We requested a partial refund because we believe that the first issue was misdiagnosed. The manager was quite rude, would not listen to our concerns and got very defensive. In the end they still couldn't give us a reasonable reason why the house would not cool below 81. We decided to part ways and i cancelled the 2 year service agreement i had with them and asked them not to send anyone else out to the house. I will never use this company again and would not recommend them. read more

These guys will call and harass you until you let them come in. They promise you things they don't deliver. They serviced my AC that was working and the next time I turn it on it is no longer working. They want to charge a service call when they messed it up in the first place. Then good luck getting them to show up for appointments. They missed their appointment 3 times without even notifying . Just an overall joke. read more

I called them out 2 days ago because my AC was not blowing cold they said I needed a new AC unit $5,500.00 to $7,500.00 at minimum. I called another guy out yesterday for a second opinion and the 2nd guy put some more coolant in the system and it now blows cold and works fine. ACE AIR ATTEMPTED TO SCAM ME DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

ACE came out for a yearly check up...everything was working fine until they came. Thermostat worked fine..but once ACE touched it, it was broken. Three months later the AC stopped working...which seemed too convenient... after looking at our unit came back with a VERY expensive quote or just get a new unit. We ended up calling someone else and fixed the problem for $200. Call John's Refrigeration instead! read more

Ace called as I asked when they were on their way. They said they would to my home in 20 minutes. I took time off work to come home and meet them. Waited 30 minutes and called them to find out where they were. They said it would still be a while before they would be at my home. Thanks Ace for having me take time off work for nothing. BAD customer service! read more

Ryan was quick, knowledgeable, and hilarious! Straight shooter not there to waste you're time, but to help you however he can. He made suggestions as to what would best suit our needs and what to add on to protect our unit as we roll into the lovely Arizona summer. You've gotta give it to guys like him who must work long hours in our heat so we stay cool! Thanks Ryan!!! read more

I had Ace come out under a barter group they are a part of. The serviceman was very nice and competent. He went through the list of items we needed done at our new house before doing the work to give us an estimate. Thank goodness he did that first. The barter company is supposed to charge the same amount whether it is barter or not and I am okay with them charging a little more, but this company policy is to totally gouge you. I paid (in points) $493 to make a minor repair on a kitchen sink. It took the repairman less than 1/2 hour. The rest of the work was more minor and it was going to cost $1000 more. Unbelievable. Had I known of their gouging beforehand I would have paid retail for a plumber. Would never use them again for anything since I get the jist of how they do business. read more

Put in 4 years ago by ace air. This is the second time I've been without a/c the second time I've had to wait the day of no air till the second day. We also purchased 3 new registers, we got 3 vents so all the air goes into the room with the not able to adjust vent. We had to block a portion of the vent with foil so the other rooms get a/c. Now the new intake and filter. Cheapest built. already wont stay shut and hold the filter in. This sucks being's I paid thousands for this work to be done...use them at your own risk. When called this in to them, they wont do anything to correct the registers. Also they are very happy to charge me to fix this 4 year old boat anchor. to bad so sad they have been paid. read more

Will. Not. Stop. Calling. I used them 5 years ago and they have been blowing my phone up ever since. I have asked repeatedly for them to stop and rwmove my number but, they cant stop wont stop. The service was fine i just wanted a tune up. Unfortunatly i got more then that. I will try George next time because at this point I dont want to encourage them. read more

Bought a Groupon for $25 20 point inspection and 1lbs of freon. The rude technician accused me of trying to trick the company essentially. Still came back with a ~$175 bill for just the freon, he then talked me into letting him clean the system for $350 and no charge for the freon which he recanted later claiming it would be $500+ for everything all together or 700 for a 3 year maintenance contract. The "cleaning" only lowered the air coming out by 2 degrees. Not a good experience and now im stupidly tied to the company for 3 years... read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This company sold me the wrong size unit for my home ( I was actually told this buy one of their own employees that they had just hired from another company). So now my A/C unit has to run 24 hours a day to keep up with the size of the house. They capped an old water line that went to an evaporative cooler and used no sealant so after two months I had to rip down the entire ceiling upstairs and replace it at my own cost. They put the return vent in wrong and now it doesn't fit any standard size filter so I had to have one custom made. They didn't take the time to use PVC glue when they installed the drain pipe coming from the A/C unit so it blew off in a dust storm and I had to crawl on the roof of my two story home and fix it myself. This is by far the worst A/C company in the Valley. Buyer beware!!! I have since had other construction companies and GC's tell me that they would never use Cool Ace because they do this type of work constantly. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! read more

First Yelp Review, My house needed the pipes replaced and they worked with me to get 5 year payment plan but that was the only good thing about them. First clue that I got a raw deal was during the install when the man said he "upgraded" me on the water heater to a 50 gal, because they didn't have 40's in stock, even though the same man wrote in the contract that I would get a 50 gal water heater. Then while negotiating he told me they wouldn't patch up holes but that they would be small and probably only run a few hundred dollars however my 1700 quotes would disagree. Then my water softener that they moved to a new location however they left it in bypass mode which I didn't catch for a week. Then later the pipe they used for pushing the discharged water wasn't fitted properly which resulted in a leak I didn't discover for a few days and resulted in salt damage on my floors in the laundry room tiles. The day they left my washer ended up flooding everywhere because the new drain they installed apparently had debris built up which resulted in the water spraying out like a fountain. Again this resulted in flooding all the way into the kitchen, thankfully I was still home when this happened because I needed to unplug the washer to stop it. Then when Sears came for maintenance on the washer they discovered that the Hot and Cold was reversed on my washer, so for a month my water wasn't being used properly. In short in now way do I recommend these people for any plumbing in your house at least not a big project. read more

This company has 301 reviews about how bad they suck and ripped people off. After getting duped out of $2100 my Trane A/C unit was still broken. After parting ways with this company and hiring a real A/C company that actually knows what they are talking about...My Trane unit was fixed like new for $475. FYI: Fan motor cap, starter cap, and compressor saver cap cost $85 for all 3 from Amazon. A fan motor shouldn't cost you more than $170 - $ 275 depending on the unit you own. This company sucks!!! read more

These people NEVER leave you alone. Their service was standard but there are a lot of companies in this line of work here in the Valley. My issue is that I've asked them twice over the last 2 years to stop calling me every freaking week and they still haven't. Don't give them your number and use someone else. It's not worth the irritation and time. read more

Late September my AC went out and the next day I was hosting a baby shower. I called and they had a service man out within an hour. Terrible service........Never follow up.....don't show up at times.....etc etc...Maintenance contract not worth the money for the service...

The technician that came out did not seem confident. He was out to perform maintenance on my ac units. After almost two hours he said we needed freon added to one of the units. He wasn't sure how much the freon cost and was unaware of the promotion that included the first pound. He initially said the added Freon would cost $160. After filling it up he charged us $190. I called the office to ask how much the Freon should cost and the woman on the phone wasn't sure either. When she finally transferred me to Becky, the service manager, I was told the charge for Freon ranges from $80-$90 per pound. I was charged $127 per pound. All around poor service and very sketchy business practices. read more

It is a shame all of the reviews are filtered for this place... Please please please, shop around for other companies. Most of the guys I have dealt with here only care about their sales and will sell you something you do not need. In the 6 different techs that have come out only one is worth more than a diagnostic fee. Please take your business elsewhere. These guys do not deserve your hard earned money. read more

I usually don't write Bad comments, but I have to do this one! I had the worst service experience with this company. I had one AC shut down in this May, call this company up, said will charge $69 for show up. When the tech. showed up, told them the A/C is just shut down. The technician Named Robert (really arrogant face) looked my air handler in the attic and condenser, said the motherboard in the air handler got fried. I asked him if he can repair that, he said that will take a while, and he don't know for sure if he can solve the problem. After that the tech. put his sales hat on, and starts his threatening, lie, and judgement. 1. Your AC is old, even say I can replace the motherboard (which he charges $760), I can't guarantee your AC will run. 2. Your condenser is really old, it could broken anytime. 3. In this heat, it almost a must to replace your unit (which he charges $9,000+), people die from the heat without AC.... 4. After he saw I get a Beemer X5, he said, I can't believe you own a BMW, won't replace your old AC, and looked at me with a really disgust looking and said I thought you should be smarter than this.... 5. After I say I don't have that kind of money to replace a new units, I will try some other technicians, he suddenly said I am not saying I can't repair it, because I can, I am just that good. (Really???Dude, so basically you can repair it, you just don't want to, so guys just charge $69 to show up and do nothing, what kind of worker you are??????) So, I sent him away because I don't want to spend the $760 or $9,000. I called another technician up, who showed up in 1 hour. And spent 20 minutes diagnosis and repair. All it is bad wire connection(I still have the picture), which was over heated. He told me the ACE guy didn't even open the air handler box, not even mention the motherboard burned. And the AC system is working really good, not a tiny problem. He charged $40, I gave him $60 to show my thankfulness. My AC runs like a charm to today (August 21). After been treated like that, my boss told me to contact the local attorney's office and report them, the local attorney office actually contact them, their response to the attorney's office is they tried to contact me several times, I never response, and willing to refund the $69. I actually never get any contact from them not phone call or email. So they lied to attorney's office as well. I just want to share this with you kindness people, do not full into their trap. read more

Some of the earlier Yelp comments on ACE had me worried, but they came through for us on an emergency basis so I have give them credit. We got a call from a tenant in a condo unit we rent out that the AC was blowing hot air while Phoenix was going through a record-breaking heat wave. Our regular service couldn't get there till 3 days later, so we went looking for an alternative. ACE promised to get there that afternoon and actually got there before 11AM. Bryan diagnosed a bad capacitor & couldn't know if anything else was wrong until that was done. Parts and an hour or so of labor $200. Heart in my mouth I authorized. Turned out that was the only thing wrong, didn't even need a coolant charge despite the fact that we had forgotten to get the annual Spring maintenance visit this year. Tenant is pleased and so are we. Definitly a 5-star performance. read more

Don't use these guys. The are crooks. They got me thinking that my AC was on its last leg. 6000 thousand dollars was the damage. But, I smelled a rat. I convinced them to hold the price for a week. I called a second company and scheduled them for the next day. He told me that the outside condenser would need to be replaced but everything else is fine. 300 dollars was the damage. I have had a stroke and I not handle stress very well. They took advantage of me. I am reporting to the BBB. read more

THEY DON'T EVEN DESERVE ONE STAR! (But I had to click on one to complete the review). NEVER, NEVER use Ace Air of Phoenix if you value yourself or your money. They have the rudest, lousiest customer service, and DO NOT stand behind their work. Service people show up when they feel like it and get this: they try to UP CHARGE you on a warranty call! On a service call they shouldn't even be making in the first place, instead of apologetically and politely fixing the LEMON they installed on my roof that rarely works, they're busy trying to hustle a "diagnosis" or some other bs charge out of you. Additionally, their service tech stole one of my husband's tools that he accidentally left out in plain sight. Words cannot express what a piece of ***t this company is. read more

Recently had a new heating & central air unit installed at one of my properties. From the first gentleman that came to inspect existing unit & discuss options to the date of the actual installation, it was definitely 5 star service!!! Every Ace Home Service employee was friendly & professional, each employee that came on day of installation personally introduced themselves to me! When the job was completed it was hard to tell anyone had been here because everything was sooo well cleaned up! Would absolutely recommend this Company to anyone!! I will not recommend this company. First I got a call from the telemarketer that they offer me a $19.95 tune-up and I scheduled it with them. The technician came and all he did was writing up what was wrong with my unit. He quoted me a job almost $750 asking if I want to have it "repaired." He couldn't explain to me why the repair was needed in the way that I could understand. When I mentioned that I have another A/C company I usually use, he started implying that the other company might had caused one of the problems on my unit. I declined getting the repair done right there mostly because I had other obligation immediately after and also because I wanted to get quotes from at least two other companies. Then right there I was offer a package to include all the repairs plus three-year guarantee for $200 less. I checked out the reviews before my appointment. To be honest, some of the reviews sounds too good to be true. If you want a good A/C company, use Day & Night. They gave me a quote over the phone which is less, reasonable and no hassel. By the way, $19.95 is not tune-up, it's only an inspection. The tune-up I was thinking about was $39.95 and the technician didn't even bother to offer that to me. read more

Horrible dishonest service people .... After receiving a call from theACE AIR to get a special for service for 19.95 for 2 units I jumped on it considering I just bought the house and didnt have any history there. The units are only 6 years old so I wasnt expecting to much and I did just buy a home warranty when I bought the house. After 5 minutes of Skylar being there I was scared into thinking my units were having serious issues and that my home warranty company wasnt worth anything, and that I should buy there maintanance pplan for 895.00 wow!!! Now I am a a little scared and feeling the pressure, but I did decline that, then he said at the very least I shoild have my coils cleaned and was told if I didnt then my warranty would be voided due to dirty coils. So I accepted that and paid $310.00 for him to be outside less than 10 min and charge me 250.00 to clean the coils. He also told me myone contactor was bad and to call my warrantry company to get them fixed. So when Leading Edge Air came out to replace the contactors he also commented that both contactors were bad and wanted to know which one he said needed replaced. So I handed him my receipt from Cool Ace and he then asked what did you pay 310.00 dollars for? I told him that they cleaned my coils and he then said let me show you how to clean your coils and also show you that they were not cleaned at all this was only 5 days later after Cool Ace was there. Mud and dirt ran out plus he said proper cleaning would of been to take them apart and get all of the debris leaves and such out too. I didnt watch Skyler clean them but was very surprised at how little time it took him to do it. He also claimed I didnt have attic access which I do on the receipt . I have called and faxed my receipts over to Becky and then had a lovely conversation with a Service manager to be told they will not refund me my money even though they did not provide me with honest service that claim on all of there marketing. I have reported to BBB, small claims court will be next the ROC the and media is in the works. BUYER BEWARE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. 107 complaint with the BBB doesnt lie. I wish I had done my due diligence to save me this heartache. Tammy read more

Avoid these guys at all cost! When we were shopping for new kitchen faucets we found service included on Amazon and Home Depot for $85 for the kitchen faucet install with purchase. The prices on Amazon and Home Depot are better than just about any other place and at $85 it was the going rate to install a kitchen faucet. ACE comes out to the house and tells us that our Living Social coupon for $150 value won't cover their $220 kitchen faucet install price. CAREFUL - They will honor your Living Social coupon, but they will jack up their prices, so high that you're better off just avoiding them. I'm giving them one star because I have to, there's no zero. read more

I really don't believe in using Yelp to downgrade a business, but this company INDEED does know why. I will keep it short and simple: besides the telemarketer quoting me a price 1/2 of what I was charged for inspection (GO SALES DEPT!!!), this "tech" wanted $60 to glue up a 1'X1' section of insulation that I did myself with a $2 can of contact adhesive. In addition, many screws were left lying about after the "inspection". File ACE under "SALES DRIVEN"! read more

Buyer beware; these folks will work hard to get you to take on one of their 5 year contracts but READ the fine print! ACE called us several times to schedule a tune-up/check for $19.95, so we said why not, we have dealt with them in the past when they seem to have been a better company. We actually purchased the unit we have now from them 10 years ago and it has not had a single issue since and still running fine. So the technician who came out was Stuart, and we were told that the system has a leak somewhere and they can inject dye into the system to find the leak and can seal it, and it will require 8lbs of freon/refrigerant. That is considered half of what the unit holds. First of all, how did he know for sure it would need half the freon replaced and not just a lb or 2. We were told all this would cost us over $700 ($45 per pound for the refrigerant) plus the labor. We declined the work, wanted a second opinion. Also, as the majority of reviewers on here have stated, he tried to sell us a new unit, said at 10 years that it was probably going. My previous unit was 20 years old before I replaced it. We contacted a friend who does HVAC and he came over, put in one lb of refrigerant and said that was all it needed. After 10 years, it was a slight bit low. I will never deal with ACE again after this potential rip-off. read more

Ryan was out. What a manipulator. Refused to give us a written quote. If we insist on a quote, we would loose the 10% discount. ?? Really. This is the oldest trick in the book. Sign right now or you loose money. Do people really go for this, give a credit card number for a $6k job, without knowing the model of the AC unit or anything about it? I guess they pray on the fact that people are needy when they are hot. I have been self employed for 27 years. People, please do not reward pushy sales tactics. You always pay more in the end. I guarantee it. It is OK to be uncomfortable for a few days. Update. Had the air conditioner replaced for a $1k less and the company, Day and Night Air Conditioning was great. They refused to take money until it was all done. And yes, I wrote a good review. Thanks read more
