First off Suresh is the real deal! I'm a Dj in the Bay Area and one night at a gig a drunk party goer bumped into my hard drive and broke the solder connection to the hard drive good thing I always keep a back up drive but this drive had everything in crates and sub crates. Looked up hard drive data recovery and access computers came up. Called the shop spoke to Suresh he told me bring it in and he will take a look at it. Well I did and he did. I left my whole music library with him. Long story short we chopped it up for like 30 mins and then I was off. Waiting for a call from suresh. Suresh repaired my computer and I was so thrilled with the service and the cost. I had given up hope because I had brought my computer to another computer repair shop, and they failed to fix the problem. It was obvious that they were not qualified, and lacked the required skills to properly diagnose and repair my computer. I was in complete despair. My MacBook decided to die on me awhile ago. I had been putting off fixing it on my own mainly because I wasn't sure if I could recover my files (read: my music collection mainly). I have had this MacBook for quite some time. My dad and I even upgraded the RAM and HD on our own. There were a few clues that it might be on its last leg. Mainly, Clean My Mac kept saying I was running out of memory when I had just put in more and I had updated the hard drive to a hybrid solid state drive. (Don't do hybrid ever again!) Anyway, I was going to work on my laptop at the same time with a friend and it would give me the equivalent to a PC blue screen of death. I thought it was a fluke so I tried to turn it on and off a few more times. Nope. Fast forward to a week ago, I decided to use Yelp's handy request a quote feature. I used it for a few other projects but decided to hold off on them. A few quotes were given and some were way more than the price of my MacBook itself. Suresh wrote back and said to take it in and he'll see what he can do. Great, I come in and tell him what's going on with it. He gives me a reasonable rate and I leave it with him. After tinkering around with it he says he was able to recover my files - the most important thing, install a new better SSD (I order one and drop it off) and re-install High Sierra for me. I now have access to all of my files - many of which I don't even remember having. My MacBook performs way better than before and I didn't have to pay an exorbitant amount of money for it. My laptop was failing badly and it would freeze up every few minutes. An expert told me that my hard is corrupted and can't be fixed and I needed a new laptop. So, I bought a new laptop. But then I came across Access Computers and began to read the reviews. I went see Suresh, the owner, at his store and he told me that my computer can be fixed a reasonable cost. My laptop had 1 tb Hd, 8 GB ram. I asked Suresh if he can upgrade RAM to 32 GB (turns out I had slots only to 16 GB max) and replace existing HD with 2 TB SSD, in addition remove any virus, plus back up my laptop on an external hard drive. He did all that in two days, and I now have almost new computer with a blazing speed. My cost of all that - about 40% of what I paid for a new laptop which I am returning to the seller. INCOMPETENT AND MISOGYNISTIC! SURESH IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST!! PLEASE READ! This man does not know how to fix a computer nor take responsibility for his actions. I brought my HP Envy 360 to him to fix in Oct 2022. One of the HINGES was broken. All he needed to do was replace the hinge and it would all be fixed. We were expecting a quick fix, which then turned into an entire process, long story short he broke the computer entirely! He called and said that while trying to fix the hinge, the screen broke and he would replace it free of cost since he broke it himself. The screen was working perfectly fine when we brought it in and it was TOUCHSCREEN. I had a perfectly usable computer which this man turned practically unusable. We go back to pick it up and it's a completely DIFFERENT screen than what the original computer came with. He claimed it was the same but it was BURSTING from the frame of the computer. What kind of person who claims they can fix computers, puts a screen that does not fit the frame? The computer didn't even close all the way. When we turned it on, the screen was blurry, and it's not touchscreen anymore. Currently, the computer runs extremely slowly and I'm worried that he took the screen from my computer to fix someone else's. He could have even replaced my processor with a slower one, which would explain why it doesn't run the way it should. Suresh claims that it was like that but I bought this computer straight from HP, have the receipts, and am well aware of what it was like. I used it in college and used the rotating feature and touchscreen to take notes. He only tells lies and is very selfish. My dad and I went back this past summer. And I take full responsibility for bringing it to him extremely late to show that it was a problem. But we both went in intending to show him what he messed up and ask if he can fix it for (ideally free but we know that's not how you run a business nowadays) a reduced price since he messed up. We spent approximately 30 minutes just arguing about the fact that he claimed it wasn't even his fault. When we mentioned that he replaced the screen, he flat-out lied and pulled up the receipt and said he never did that and never charged for it. Why would you charge us for something you broke? He said he would replace it for free, it should not show up on the invoice unless he marked it at $0. As we were speaking, he said to me "You're too young let me explain this to your dad." No. I am a young professional, with 2 degrees, and common sense. I can have a discussion even if he is not. He can be immature and disrespectful. But to be misogynistic and indicated that he would rather talk to my dad. An older, more experienced, "respected" MAN shows that he has no respect for women. He thinks he can walk all over me because I am younger, the only reason my dad came with me is because he is the one who took the computer to him in the first place while I was in college. If you are looking to get any electronics fixed, I would go anywhere else. For professional capability, responsibility, self-respect, and general basic common sense. THIS GUY IS THE WORST PLEASE READ!! the owner the Indian guy I went with my girlfriend to get our MacBook Air screens fixed (lcd digitizer) Hers was cheeper cause it was a other version and I left mines there cause I was going to come back and pay for mines and my girlfriend got hers fixed first then after few days of using her computer a weird scratching noise from Inside her computer and audio won't work sometimes so she would need to restart it... not even done yet. I have a ten year old Mac that was running painfully slowly. I didn't want to spend the money on a new one so I took it to Suresh to see what he could do. He did wonders. He first identified that fact that my current OS, Catalina, did not work well w my Mac's older technology. He installed Sierra, also installed a new solid state hard drive, and cleaned out a lot of spam that I had picked up. This place is awesome. I've probably been to Access 5 times over the last 5 years or so with 3 different laptops. He is always informative and willing to explain what could be going on. He has fixed everything from wobbly screens and software issues, and when the fix is not worth the price, he tells me and then sells me a replacement at a great price and with all the latest software. My laptops are personal use- but we also rely on Access Computers for our desktops at the family business, and I recommend him to family and friends all the time. I've had my computer repaired here after I tried to do the repair myself and mucked it up. He fixed it within 3 days and even replaced the corrupted hard drive no charge with a spare one he had lying around. Unsatisfactory. I had my iPhone screen repaired here after 4 visits to the place. Initially everything seemed alright but the repair was done poorly and the screen started having lines across the bottom in about 2 weeks. In a months time the screen had detached from the top half which is either because it was not screwed properly or the glue in the component wasn't strong enough. Overall a disappointing experience. The mgmt doesn't have a good appointment system to manage customers and you can't simply rely on yelp timings to go there and expect to see someone working. The place is understaffed. The cost of the repair was economical but is not worth the time spent and final quality of work. I would have rather gone to Apple store and paid the extra cost to have it done properly and reliably in the first place. A lesson learnt! read more
