Back with some friends. Luckily, not as much Nutella as last time ‍ very yummy. I feel like the acai tastes like cotton candy ice cream

Sarah really held it down today by herself! It's one of the freakish 90+ California days so everyone and their grandparents want to grab an ice cream alternative... since it's hot and a Friday almost all the customers in front of me seemed to have had an attitude. Sarah handled them with tact and poise! The joint is cozy, clean & calm. Acai was delicious! Keep it up!

Nutella Fella

The Nutella Fella bowl is pretty good! We were passing through and looking for something light and fresh, ordered online and order was available on time! Unfortunately no napkins or spoon in the bag, but overall good experience!

Delicious smoothie from a nicely appointed menu. Loved the pineapple mint taste! I requested collagen in mine and felt very posh and VIP ;) Prompt and polite service, located near Octavia's Books for all of you bibliophiles. Gotta check it out!

Acai, Granola, Goji Berries, Honey, Strawberry, and Cacao Nibs

A few weeks ago my job hosted a staff appreciation day and they had acai bowl stall on-site. It was from Acai Bar with two staffs making custom bowls for everyone. We only had one base flavor which was acai. In the past I never cared for acai bowls but after I had one from here, I was hooked! I also tried acai bowls from different places but never liked them as much as from Acai Bar. I was in the area and stopped by after they opened on a Saturday morning. I managed to find parking in the back but it was difficult since a popular restaurant was located there. The store is also small. There were four customers inside and having more than 6 people in there was already crowded. I chose a custom bowl and mentioned it was my first time at this location. The staff was so nice and gave me a free 5th topping since it was my first time. I chose acai for base, granola, goji berries, strawberry, cacao nibs and honey as my toppings. I do think it's best to eat this right away. They have tables and chairs in front of the store. I took it home, freeze it for a bit and enjoyed it then. I'd love to try other bases next time!

Granola, blueberries and mango.. yummy

The Açaí bar is stocked with freshness and many options. The employees are awesome. Very convenient for Altadena and Pasadena community

Acai Berry Smoothie

I want to like this place because the drinks can be good when they're made fresh, but the customer service is consistently terrible. This order was placed through DoorDash for pickup and scheduled ahead of time. I arrived about ten minutes after placing the order, and DoorDash already showed it as 'ready.' When I told the employee I had a pickup order, he acted like he knew what I was talking about and started looking around, even checking the fridge. The smoothie hadn't actually been made it had been sitting out. Instead of remaking it properly, he simply added more ice and re-blended it. There was no apology, no acknowledgment of the mistake, nothing. The lack of care and professionalism completely ruins the experience. The product might be decent, but the customer service is horrendous. This place seriously needs to do better.

Was craving açaí on a hot day and wanted to give Açaí Bar a try! There was a lot of street parking when I arrived! A small, cute location with a few bar stools. I ordered the Vitality Bowl. The fruit was fresh and the açaí base was yummy, service was quick too! Not a lot of space to hang out and socialize but a good place to stop by if you want a to-go order(:

Berry Me Bowl

First impressions are everything, when my partner and I walked in we were welcome my crickets, the two young ladies at the counter were not friendly, and stared at us instead of greeting us ( we went on a Friday) It was out first time here, I tried the "Berry me bowl, unlike the customer service, it did not disappoint. The place is small and maybe max limit per space is 4 people. Probably won't come back.

Nature Bowl (Small)

thank you. i tried this place when they first opened the acai bowl was layered and just AMAZING. but after time you guys fell apart and stopped caring about presentation :( amazing bowls but presentation and sometimes the fruit was bad ( please consider going back to how you guys did the mango back when acai bar first opened ) going today ( thursday @ 4:30/40) just made it amazing !! who ever was working i really appreciate you and consider keeping them forever please! ( 2 girls )! best bowl i had since you guys FIRST OPENED ! please PLEASE don't consider changing it! ps . always amazing service on tuesdays n thursday's @4/5 when i go the girl at the register is always so nice !

Omg Berry Me Bowl is my go to when I visit açaí bar . The service is amazing

Does the Acai base have caffeine in it?

Is the acai base made fresh to order with fresh fruit?

Hi Cassie, The base is made in Brazil and is transported here. We don't add any ingredients or…

When are you going to start offering unlimited toppings? That is the direction of most of your competitors. You best take note.

Thanks for your input Bruce. Which competitors come to mind? Also, how do you feel about their base. Many places can offer that because of lower quality and cheaper base. However your suggestion is a good idea

Do you serve Pitaya Bowls?

Hi Glenn, At the moment we only use a pure Açai base. Thanks for your inquiry.…

What's in the bulletproof coffee? Do you offer heavy cream?

Bulletproof is the brand of coffee beans. You can either have it in a regular drip coffee format, cold brew or their signature (MCT oil & butter) which we call the jumpstart

Do you have almond butter as an alternative?

We do have almond butter

This did not disappoint! I got the pandan latte. Definitely heavier on the vanilla flavor but the pandan still comes through. My mom got the crème brulee latte and it was probably one of the better ones I've had. It wasn't just sweet - you could get the essence of that burnt sugar topping. For food we had the spam kimchi cheese croissant and it was so good! The croissant was nice and flaky. There was the perfect ratio of filling. It is a very craveable sandwich. All of this in itself deserved a 5 star review already, but one more thing happened I need to mention. We were just about to leave and I wanted a straw in my drink. I want to put it in the lid and instead I spilled it all over the counter. A woman who I presumed to be the owner immediately came over to clean the mess and told the girl at the counter to remake me a new drink. Given I was taking care of my mom and my daughter today, that small kindness meant a lot to me. Overall, highly recommend Dash. Good coffee and good people.

I love their pandan latte and their creme brulee latte. The creme brulee is on the sweeter side, so when I'm in the mood for that it's perfect. The service is quick and there's not many seats inside. I always come here to get a matcha latte, and they do it just right with not too much sugar. They also have variety of eatery and after regular breakie they also sell beer and have a bar! Although I've never came here for the other events I think they also host trivia nights that if I had more time in my life I would come and check out. I been coming here every week for their matcha if I have time and just some nice pastry to go with it. A lot of people come here to have their morning routine, they have indoor and outdoor seating, which is nice since people with dogs are able to bring their pets on not too hot days. They have parking in the back for just them, but they also have street parking if you want to grab and go! I've had their chicken sandwich, and its enough for 2 meals! I really like the concept of this place being a coffee shop during the day and a brewery later on. It gives the space a relaxed, chill atmosphere that I can appreciate. Unfortunately, the food and drinks just didn't do it for me this time. I ordered the $9 sub, which was premade and had that unmistakable straight-from-the-fridge hard bread situation. Plus, it could use some mayo, or at least some kind of sauce. For $9, I expected better and definitely wouldn't spend the money on it again. The hojicha latte was another miss. I've had hojicha plenty of times and usually love its smooth, roasty flavor, but this one wasn't sweet or creamy enough for my taste and came across a little too straight-up. The raspberry cream on top didn't add much flavor either. I also grabbed a day-old pastry. It was pretty hard and had a slightly stale crème-brûlée-like top, although I'll give it credit -- once warmed up, it was actually pretty delicious. Overall, 3 stars. I like the concept and the convenience, but unfortunately nothing I had was quite good enough to make me want to come back anytime soon.

Consistently excellent quality, creativity, and service on every visit. The staff has great rapport…read morewith each other and genuinely seem like they are having fun, which in turn creates a welcoming jovial atmosphere (unless they have to tell folks to read the sign. Seriously please read the sign! Only 4 people inside at a time & don't block the hallway -- they'll call you in or you can monitor how many folks are inside)! I have tried nearly every Signature/Seasonal drink and you can't go wrong. Unless otherwise noted, all these drinks are "not too sweet": - Sicily: You'd think citrus & espresso would be too acidic, yet somehow the two compliment each other perfectly. If you like cold brew, give this a try! - Gui Hua Latte: The cardamom/osmanthus balance is excellent, sometimes coffee shops go too hard on the cardamom but Mandarin has struck the perfect blend - Toasty: A little sweeter than the other drinks in my view, but if you like cinnamon/brown sugar, this tastes like a cookie in drink form - Raspberry Shiso Matcha: If you have ever participated in a Matcha tea ceremony, this drink tastes like it all-in-one. It has a wonderful wagashi flavor - Sweet Potato Spice Latte: The fall drink to end all fall drinks. The brown butter really sets this latte apart from other PSL varieties. The coconut cream does not impart a strong coconut flavor, but instead a richness in texture. - Sea Salt Coconut Latte: By contrast, this does taste like coconut in all the best ways. Refreshing on a hot summer day with the mint & salt, neither of which overwhelm the senses - Mandarin Mocha: I'm not sure if this will return some other winter season, but the orange-cranberry marmalade mocha was too sweet for my taste. Great in small sips or if you have a sweet tooth though! - Blossom Latte: Clear winning winter seasonal drink. The warmth of the ginger and pink peppercorn combine with the espresso to taste like a snappy gingerbread. - Pineapple Espresso Tonic: I shouldn't review this one because I don't love tonic water to begin with, but the flavors were all there. I just don't think espresso and tonic should go together but some people seem to like that - Rose Hip Black Tea Latte: If you watch any baking shows, you know Rose is a tough flavor to balance, but of course Mandarin knows the secret formula. This is just a delightful spring drink, and the herbal/floral notes from the rose & tea taste like a walk in the Huntington Gardens feels. All of the pastries are delicious, and they sometimes have special guests come and sell their own home-cooked goods (check calendar/notices, I think it's the 1st or the 3rd Sunday each month)! Finally, the arcade is such a lovely tucked-away gem that I wish it was a bit more lively. Mandarin is bringing in a lot of foot traffic, and there's a lot of storefronts certainly benefiting from that, but I would love to see some kind of indoor sit-down place open up (maybe Mandarin could expand...). It's the perfect cozy atmosphere for working, reading a book, or catching up with a friend, but Mandarin itself is too small to house folks inside. There are only 4-5 tables outside in the arcade itself that are almost always taken when it's busy.

Mandarin quickly became a TikTok darling, and it has since been featured by the LA Times and The Infatuation. Mandarin is tucked away in the quaint Burlington Arcade on South Lake. The brightly lit, semi-enclosed walkway feels like the streets of London. A firetruck-red telephone booth completes the ambiance. On a weekend morning, the buzzing shop is a stark contrast to the sleepy surrounding storefronts. Mandarin's tiny interior is limited to 4 customers, and it feels immediately serene compared to the shoulder-to-shoulder line. Warm filamented bulbs, pressed-tin ceiling, and dry-brushed slate walls create an industrial-minimalist vibe fitting for the street. Fifties tunes blend with the hum of espresso machines. My fiancee and I arrived before 10AM on the weekend, and we still faced a 20-minute queue down the alley. Once inside, our drinks were promptly prepared to order. We loved the signature "Toasty", an elevated take on milk tea. The spice mix and oat milk combined into a deliciously not-too-sweet drink. Meanwhile, the silky Vienna Latte recalled La Colombe's classic draft latte, but it was decidedly more standard. Lastly, the White Miso Kouign-Amann (billed as a "creme brulee croissant") left us wanting; caramelized sugar collected disproportionately at the bottom. The service was warm and approachable, and pastries and beverages run $5-7 range. Broadly, my fiancee and I agreed that the coffee was good but not quite great, and the pastries weren't worth the premium. While a few other drinks piqued my interest, I can't see myself going out of my way to Mandarin in the future.

I absolvely love how unique and well-balanced this particular drink is - with its Ethiopian cold brew and orange blossom water. What stood out to me was how the zestiness of the orange/lemon/and lime combined complemented the richness of the cold brew. The sugar adds just enough sweetness without overpowering the coffee. I must have ordered the Sicily so many times that they should just name the coffee after me. The staff here is wonderful and the baristas genuinely seem passionate about what they're serving. I know what I like so I haven't gotten around to experimenting with the other coffees, but I can feel the intention behind the menu! I would look elsewhere if you're hunkering down for a place to work but if you're looking for a lively chat with friends, this would be the spot. There is soft, upbeat music playing and this place is popular so people come and go!
