I spoke with a few different contractors and received three quotes. Two were in a similar range, including Julian's; the third was much more expensive. I chose Julian because the business seemed well managed, and the results did not disappoint. Noe was the person I worked with. He was on time, easy to communicate with, and prompt in replying. He was knowledgeable about his work and quickly identified what needed to be done in each area of the yard as we walked around my yards. On the day of the job, eight crew members arrived right on time: four climbers and four ground crew members. While a few did not speak much English, others did, so communication was never a problem. They worked hard for about eight hours and completed the job by the end of the day. Noe stopped by shortly after noon to make sure the work was meeting my expectations. When I mentioned a few additional items I wanted addressed - such as clearing more of the brush in the backyard - he quickly spoke with the crew and had them taken care of. The entire team was easy to communicate with and clearly knew what they were doing. For example, one of the trees had branches hanging over the power line leading into my house. They trimmed it just enough to clear the line and leave a beautiful canopy without overdoing it. I was impressed. They also did a thorough cleanup afterward. So I cannot recommend CBC Tree Services if you need anything requiring follow up or communication. Really, really disappointing Melvin and CBC.

What stood out most was how much he actually knew, he explained why certain trees needed to be trimmed a certain way and at a certain time of year, not just "we'll cut it and see." The crew showed up when they said they would, worked fast without cutting corners, and hauled away all the debris so we weren't left with a mess in the yard. They even took down a couple of overgrown trees and cleaned up some hedges along the fence line, and the whole property looks so much better now. Everyone on the crew was easy to deal with and clearly knew what they were doing. We've already got a couple more trees we want looked at and Cal Line will be who we call.
