I have used CBC twice. Both times initial contact went well, Melvin was professional and prompt in his communication. The team came out and did a good job for a fair price. The fail came on the second job. I was very clear from the outset that I was trying to get reimbursed via grant from the county and would need one line in final invoice/receipt to describe the distance from my home to provide to the county. Melvin assured me that it was no problem. After the work was complete (as well as payment) I sent 4 text messages a voicemail and two emails between Nov 11 and Dec 19. I received one response to the first text that he would send it out the next day. It never came and he never responded again. The window closed for document collection and I missed the opportunity for a $1500 grant reimbursement, which in this difficult time of increasing cost of living expenses, would have been incredibly useful. So I cannot recommend CBC Tree Services if you need anything requiring follow up or communication. Really, really disappointing Melvin and CBC. read more

Melvin's team came out to trim 5 of our trees. Unfortunately one branch fell on a wire holding a post and the post broke. It took about 10 days to get the damages repaired with a few cancellations in between. However Melvin and his crew were able to finally come and make the repairs. read more

On Monday 11/18/2024 I contacted few companies and Melvin of CBC responded immediately and came out the same day to give a reasonable estimate to cut and remove few big tree limbs and one of them was hanging high up dangerously on our huge tree. Melvin and his crew arrived on time the next day morning not only did the job, Melvin also provided complimentary works to trim the over grown, dead branches and cut down other dead tree trunk that were not included in the estimates. This is the second time I've used CBC Tree Services; both were big projects, but this one was the most expansive of the two. And just as with the first project, this second project was a success. Removing two huge, old Monterey pines and pruning several oaks involved a lot of planning, organizing, and coordination on CBC's end, and they did it excellently with professionalism and expertise. We had several companies come look at the work that needed to be done in our backyard. Although CBC was not the cheapest quote, we appreciated their more thorough evaluation of the problem, documenting with pictures etc. So we went with them. The large 35ft tree came down without issue, and the other trees were trimmed well. They had to come back another day to finish grinding the stumps because the person to grind them called out the morning of our initial work. When they arrived to do the grinding, the machine would not fit into the space it was required and therefore they could not finish the job. However, the owner Melvin contacted me and said they rented a smaller grinder specifically for our trees and they came back the next day to finish the rest of the work. Appreciate the effort and work that was done to make the problems we ran into right, and CBC really went out of their way to make sure we were happy. read more

I contacted Melvin, the owner of CBC Tree Services about the HUGE liquid amber tree on the parking strip in front of our home. He gave me a reasonable quote and also offered to remove a big dead palm stump in addition to the trimming job. Yesterday, his men came out to do the work. They were so patient while we went door to door to find the owner of the car parked beneath the tree, and finally, after getting the car moved, they got to work. Amazing. The price was very competitive and they were able to come the next day to remove the tree because it was an emergency. Their crew was extremely efficient and professional. Our tree had large branches growing over our garage, a shed, and an outdoor play structure. They were able to cut everything out safely without any damage. CBC offered more than a reasonable and prompt quote which we accepted. The 30' Tree was located in a tight space between property lines and close to our house/roof. Melvin (CBC) was confident that they could remove the tree without any impact to the home or the neighbor's property. True to form when Melvin and his crew arrived (on time) they took precautions to assure the cut tree limbs were innocuously removed (limbs lowered by ropes and workers beneath). After tree removal, Melvin trimmed neighbor's branches that had grown near our roof. Afterwards the crew promptly shredded the limbs and swept clean the grounds. They did a great job!
