I have used CBC twice. Both times initial contact went well, Melvin was professional and prompt in his communication. The team came out and did a good job for a fair price. The fail came on the second job. I was very clear from the outset that I was trying to get reimbursed via grant from the county and would need one line in final invoice/receipt to describe the distance from my home to provide to the county. Melvin assured me that it was no problem. After the work was complete (as well as payment) I sent 4 text messages a voicemail and two emails between Nov 11 and Dec 19. I received one response to the first text that he would send it out the next day. It never came and he never responded again. The window closed for document collection and I missed the opportunity for a $1500 grant reimbursement, which in this difficult time of increasing cost of living expenses, would have been incredibly useful. So I cannot recommend CBC Tree Services if you need anything requiring follow up or communication. Really, really disappointing Melvin and CBC. read more

On Monday 11/18/2024 I contacted few companies and Melvin of CBC responded immediately and came out the same day to give a reasonable estimate to cut and remove few big tree limbs and one of them was hanging high up dangerously on our huge tree. We had several companies come look at the work that needed to be done in our backyard. Although CBC was not the cheapest quote, we appreciated their more thorough evaluation of the problem, documenting with pictures etc. So we went with them. The large 35ft tree came down without issue, and the other trees were trimmed well. They had to come back another day to finish grinding the stumps because the person to grind them called out the morning of our initial work. When they arrived to do the grinding, the machine would not fit into the space it was required and therefore they could not finish the job. However, the owner Melvin contacted me and said they rented a smaller grinder specifically for our trees and they came back the next day to finish the rest of the work. The price was very competitive and they were able to come the next day to remove the tree because it was an emergency. Their crew was extremely efficient and professional. Our tree had large branches growing over our garage, a shed, and an outdoor play structure. They were able to cut everything out safely without any damage. It was really incredible to watch how they manipulated where branches fell to avoid damage. CBC offered more than a reasonable and prompt quote which we accepted. The 30' Tree was located in a tight space between property lines and close to our house/roof.
