Had an issue with three of my front lawn sprinklers not reaching the proper psi. After spending 2 afternoons trying to find and correct the issue myself, I decided to hire a professional to pinpoint the problem. I put a request for service out and Zaragoza was quick to respond. Job: 5/5 Zaragoza came out fast, quickly diagnosed the problem and was able to fox it on the spot in less than an hour. The issue ended up being a broken cap in the ground that sealed off an old part of the system. He dug it up and replaced the cap quick. Customer Service: 4.5/5 He was very nice and personable. In addition, he took the time to explain to me how to diagnose future problems similar to this myself. He gave me several tips and tricks I can utilize for my future lawn care needs. While he was here, I asked him if he could assess a tree and give me an estimate for its removal. He happily took the time to look at it. The only reason it's not 5/5 is because he did not discuss the price prior to fixing the problem. Price: 3/5 I was charged $350 for the whole job. I thought it was a little steep for this particular job. However, I also know I'm paying for the expertise. At this point, I also just wanted this issue handled after dealing with it for 1-2 months. However, the estimate he gave for the tree and stump removal I thought was great. To remove a mulberry tree, he quoted me $550 for the removal and $400 more for the stump removal. We had two (2) ailing trees, over 30 years old, needing to be removed. We called Adrian. He came over, on time, and we discussed how to remove the trees, set the fee and set a day & time. They arrived on time and his crew went to work. The black alder came down quickly. The crew piled up the branches and trunks in the driveway. They then went to work on the redwood tree. Amazing. Very professional climber. Once the branches were down, they topped the tree and worked their way down. During this time, the chipper arrived and the root removal crew arrived. They went to work. When the work was done, it was like we never had the trees on the property, completely erased. They cleaned up and left the place beautiful. Yes, I would hire them again. I really wanted to be able to use this business. It's local and they do a decent job. However, all three times we attempted to use Adrian's service, there were problems. The first time he did not show up or call for our scheduled appointment. When I called him, he said he had an emergency but there was no apology. Second time, he ended up charging us more than what he originally quoted without telling us ahead of time. After the second appointment, we scheduled a monthly service. One month comes around and he's a no show. I called, left a message, and have not received a call back. This review is coming a few months after we had a lot of work done on the yard of our recently purchased home. I normally like to wait a while before writing my reviews because it's only after the proverbial dust has settled that the true work shines through. The previous owners of our house thought they were landscape geniuses but in fact made a lot of mistakes and planted numerous invasive plants. In addition, they did a half-arsed job laying things out in the yard. I decided I would try to tackle it myself but when faced with the enormity of the situation, I crumbled and realized I needed help. Professional help. That's where Adrian comes in. I most appreciate how honest he is -- it would have been so easy for someone to come in and royally rip me off because I seriously had no idea what I wanted -- I only knew what I *didn't* want. He was fantastic about giving advice and offering suggestions without forcing our hand in any decisions. We had a budget and he worked hard to keep within that. He was always courteous and let us know if he wasn't working that day or if he needed to continue on weekends so we could best accommodate space for his vehicles. The scope of work he did for us was big. He cleared out bamboo, cut down some trees, planted other trees, planted ornamentals, ran irrigation, retaining walls, pruned shrubs, and put in a large flagstone pad. I've had him come back to do maintenance a couple of times and fully trust him to do any additional work we'd need in future.
