I wanted to create a decomposed granite path and swing area in my backyard and side yard, and Selvin and his crew took my design and made it work. It's been two winters since then and the DG is holding up well even through heavy rains and leaf blowing. All I've had do to maintain it is rake and occasional Round-up spraying to get rid of clover that is inevitable over time. This was high-quality work from a crew that is efficient and knows what they're doing; I'd hire them again. read more

I'm so happy about the work by Selvin and his crew at Green World Landscape. Selvin was great to work with at the quote/prep stage, being very clear about what they will do and asking good questions about what I prefer. I was doing a whole hard cleanup after a couple of years of just minimal maintenance (by me). So it needed a lot of work. Now I wish I took before and after pictures. They did an amazing job with the yard cleanup and we couldn't be happier. We are also keeping them on for biweekly maintenance and are so happy to have a professional a reliable crew to keep our yard nice. read more

I messaged Selvin on a Friday and was blown away by his responsiveness. He planned to come out that same day, but when one of his jobs ran longer, he kept me in the loop and showed up first thing Saturday instead. His team started work on Sunday and had the job beautifully finished by Monday -- talk about fast, professional service! We recently installed pavers in our backyard and wanted to elevate the space by adding white decorative rocks around the perimeter. Even though this property is being prepped as a rental, we wanted it to have a clean, polished, and upscale look -- and that's exactly what Selvin and his team delivered. They were highly communicative throughout the entire process, sending us updates, photos, and videos. I really appreciated the detailed estimate and clear breakdown of the project before starting. What impressed us most was how they treated our home as if it were their own -- thoughtful, precise, and with real pride in their work. We couldn't be happier with the end result. The entire yard looks amazing, and the white rock accents really finish it off. We'll definitely be using Green World Landscape again for future projects and are already recommending them to friends and neighbors. Thank you, Selvin, for your professionalism and for delivering exactly what we envisioned -- if not better! read more

After going through several crews that rushed the job and left, Green World was a completely different experience. Selvin came out the day after I called, walked the whole yard with me, and pointed out things I hadn't even asked about..bushes overgrowing the sidewalk, an agave planted in the wrong spot, ivy woven through the beds and explained exactly how his team would handle each one. On the day of the job the crew gutted and cleaned everything: hedges cut back and shaped, weeds pulled by hand, the agave removed, fresh mulch laid down, and they even planted the new plants we bought ourselves. They went above and beyond what was quoted and the yard honestly looks better than I thought it could. Fair price, honest estimate, no shortcuts. We're keeping them for regular maintenance...highly recommend. read more

Selvin and his team are amazing! They completely transformed our yard after our irrigation system failed and our two huskies turned it into a giant sandbox. The communication between Selvin and I was consistent and timely. He was completely honest about the female dogs potentially killing some of the grass from urine and recommended a durable grass for our yard. The work was done quickly and Selvin and his team went above and beyond. The irrigation system is completely new and the grass is gorgeous. We were so impressed we asked if we could retain them on a consistent basis. Look no further for quality work and professional communication. read more

Selvin and his team are excellent. Totally refreshing. It's clear that they have pride in their work. They helped me by putting in new front and backyards and planted about 70 different plants. The results are just fabulous and my place has never looked better! read more

They did a beautiful job on our yard clean up and I highly recommend them. With two small kids and all the rain we really got behind on keeping up with the yard. Our lawn was patchy and un-level. We had weeds everywhere and our plants were over grown. They came in and fixed all of that at a very reasonable price. We'll continue to use them for regular maintenance so that we don't get behind and we can keep our yard looking as beautiful as they made it. read more

Selvin and his team did an absolutely amazing job with my yard!! The weeds were coming in fast from all of the rain, they went through and took everything down and relandscaped the front yard around the house with new plants (star Jasmine), watering, and new mulch. They trimmed all of the bushes and the trees and everything is very neat and clean. I've already gotten so many compliments on how gorgeous the yard is. I would very very highly recommend them to anyone! We are now going to be doing monthly maintenance to keep up with everything and I couldn't be happier =) Thanks Selvin!! read more

I reached out to Green World Landscape after reaching out to several other landscapers just to find out services are booked for weeks out. Perfect storm of it being near summer time and that post-pandemic everyone is staying home and wanting to maintain/upgrade their yards. Fortunately, I found Green World on Yelp and reached out the Selvin. Selvin was honest regarding its availability and that they could also not start immediately, but did have capacity on the weekends in about two weeks. I wanted to make our yard look great for a loved one who is short on time. Selvin provided great communication and follow through on the timeline. The quote provided was also very fair. When it came to it the landscaping they did a great job on the irrigation, lawn, replanting, as well as the drought resistant options. They also put in a concrete pathway exactly to our desired specifications for a side entry way. Overall, Green World Landscape did an outstanding job and I plan to hire them for the remodel of our front yard as well. Including some pictures for review. read more

Selvin and his team are the best landscapers we have found in 6 years of living in the East Bay. They did an absolutely fantastic job replacing the grass in our front and back yards. Not only did they replace the grass, they also redid the entire sprinkler system to ensure the grass would have adequate coverage. They dug trenches, put down new soil and tilled it (in the heat!). They are professional, hard-working and kind. Selvin really knows his stuff - I trust his judgement so much with our yard that we hired his team to be our regular gardeners. Excellent work!! read more

We hired Green World to revamp our front yard. Selvin was very responsive in understanding our requests and making suggestions so it felt very collaborative. We accepted his quote and scheduled the start of work. Everything went so smoothly and the results were even better than we imagined. They replaced the driveway and front walk, removed the former lawn and old plants, put in crushed rock, and planted many roses and other plants along with a drip irrigation. Also programmable solar footlights. We could not be happier with the great work Selvin and his crew did for us!!!! read more

What started out as a couple thoughts scribbled on a piece of paper turned into a magnificent front landscape. Selvin and the boys did a great job. Super responsive, respected the property at all times, dealt with our mid-construction changes with a great attitude and recommended designs in areas where we had No Idea what we were going to do. During construction they never left the site without cleaning everything, and I mean everything! We've had compliment, after compliment from neighbors and strangers alike. On top of all that, this design will save us hundreds of gallons of water a year. We couldn't be happier. Thanks Selvin and crew! read more

Selvin and his crew did an amazing job. He is very easy to work with, friendly, reasonable pricing. Never complained when we added more stuff than originally planned for :) He did drip irrigation for my front, side and backyard. He also built custom redwood vegetable boxes and trellis. He came with us to the nursery when we wanted to select plants and was very patient while I took my time in deciding :) He took his time in beautifying our garden and never did any rush job. I would definitely recommend him for any landscaping work. read more

Wow! In all my years of shopping around for home services. I have never encounter a company that won't work with you as simple as scheduling. I appreciate the honesty though. Check out the screenshot and here a summary: I was looking around for a lawn service through Yelp. Selvin responded and asked for my availability and told him today between 4-6p. But, warned him that another would be around. Just a courtesy so it won't looked weird. I was open for another day and time but waited for his response. Then I get this instead: "don't worry, thanks but I'm not interested anymore." I'm surprised from a company with good ratings and 50 reviews. Instead to trying to find another day or time, you know typical scheduling process between a business and consumer. I give him credit for honesty, but he needs a reality check that people have lives and his company is not only one out there. In this pandemic time, he should be glad his business is still thriving. read more

Repeat customer here! I did another project with Selvin and team and 2nd time was just as great as the first time. On time, great price and superb quality. We had a massive play structure that our kids have outgrown. So he demo'd it, laid down new sod, filled in an old fire pit and covered a portion of backyard with decorative rocks. Very pleased with the results. read more

Selvin and his little crew did a fantastic job on our lawn. We were being overrun by a tree shooting roots up all over the backyard. They did a fantastic job digging them up, but also leaving our lawn looking nice. They also removed a small tree. My favorite part: They were fast and... 25 minutes early! Plus, they really went above and beyond in the scope of work: cleaned up some weeds around our patio and the side of our house; raked up around the yard; hauled everything away. I'm very pleased with their work and will definitely call them again when we need help. Highly recommend! read more

I hired Selvin after my previous landscape company did not take care of my property as we discussed (and contracted to perform). Selvin's team immediately began transforming my yard back to the way it originally looked. They take the time to trim my plants correctly (not with hedge trimmers) which allows them to flourish. My grass looks great too. Recently, my wife installed an apricot tree to replace the one that died a few years ago. The support stake she used was too flimsy to provide adequate support. Before we had a chance to change it, Selvin's crew changed it for us with a very robust stake. We did not ask him to do so, he saw a need and resolved the problem. My yard / plants look great. All of my sprinklers work. I get compliments all the time. Thanks Selvin! read more

I talked with the owner of this company about having him come out to my house to Garden my front and backyard for a party I have coming up. We chose a date and time and my fiancée took time out of his day and pushed back other plans to meet with the owner. He never showed up nor did anyone else from the company. We didn't even receive a call or message from anyone stating they were running late or would need to reschedule. When I reached out to contact him, still no answer. I understand things happen and being a bit late but it's really rude to make plans and not come or even be bothered to call. I could have been in contact with other gardeners and made an appointment with someone who was willing to show up. read more

Selvin and his team did an excellent job for replacing my backyard lawn. First off, Selvin was readily available to give me a free estimate. Out of 4 companies, he gave me the best quote for what I needed. Second, Selvin and his crew exceeded my expectations by showing up on time and finished the project as scheduled. His team did a great job for putting the new sod evenly and meticulously and removed some dead plants that was not on the estimate. I moved into a new (to me) house earlier this year that has an automatic sprinkler system in the front yard. Unfortunately I hit one of the sprinkler heads with a lawn mower and it snapped right off of the irrigation line. I contacted Selvin and his team and he offered to come check it out the day of. After fixing the sprinkler head that I broke, Selvin and his crew checked the rest of the system and they discovered two more sprinkler heads that weren't working correctly! They went ahead and replaced those as well in a very quick and efficient manner. I now have a fully working sprinkler system in my front yard due to Selvin's quick response, thorough work, and going above and beyond. Not to mention his pricing was very fair. I definitely plan to contact Selvin and his team again the next time I need help with my irrigation system. read more

Contacted GWL through Yelp and got a response the next day from Selvin. He was able to come the very next day in the afternoon which was great since I needed some yard work done ASAP. I was looking to have my entire front yard redone. Everything was taken out and a new driveway with pathways was put in. Now I needed a landscape company to come in and complete the job. I used Yelp to narrow my choices and had 4 of them come out to discuss the job, my ideas and provide me with an estimate. After receiving those I decided to have Green World do the work. Selvin came back out to discuss the details of the job. I have a tree in the front yard that drops leaves so was concerned how I would get those leaves off if I used mulch as the landscape cover. If I raked the leaves, the mulch would be raked up along with the leaves. If I used a blower, the mulch would be blown up along with the leaves. Taking into conservation my concerns Selvin suggested gravel and advised me to visit the local landscape rock company to look at color and size. I went there and decided on a size and color and the landscape plan was starting to take shape. We then had an extensive discussion on plants based on my ideas of the layout. Selvin provided me with an extensive list of plant suggestions along with their names. Using internet I was able to get a working list of plants and then discussed with Selvin to get down to a final decision. Selvin thought that it would take about 5 days to complete the job. It only took 3 days as he brought out a couple of extra workers to help him out. All material arrived on time and the work done was of high quality. They broke up and graded the existing soil, integrated planting soil into the existing soil, laid out and connected the drip irrigation system, laid out the covering fabric, planted the plants, laid out the gravel and tested the drip system. I was here observing most of the time and the quality of work throughout was excellent. I ordered some boulders from the rock company and Selvin went to there to pick them up. The end product was a beautifully landscaped front yard. The team cleaned everything up and a new front yard was presented. Green World was very competitively priced and their work was excellent - the best of both worlds. I would highly recommend Selvin and his company. read more

My front yard worked with Green World Landscape. I was so much happy with Selvin's work. He was really professional and responsibility. The most important thing is the price is reasonable.I've contacted a lot of landscape companies. They all have limited square feet for work (that means if you want to work with that company, the quote is over 10K or around 10K). But Green World Landscape is you can do what you want and you can discuss with him. They don't have any limited square ft. Selvin and GWL are hands down the best gardeners I've dealt with in the bay. They've been my parent's landscapers for years now and it's always so exciting to go home and visit and see new additions in the garden. My mom will say "Look! Selvin planted this new plant! Look how pretty the flowers are!" Or "Look at the new vegetable patch we have!" One of my joys is to just lay out by the pool or walk through the fruit and vegetable garden that he hand crafted and just marvel. He truly has a green thumb.
