Surprising to see such a quality restaurant in this small town. The food is prepared with the attention to details. The color and texture are nicely balanced. Salad was topped with fruits like raspberries and peaches and nuts, instead of relying on usual sauce. There are strong emphasis on the natural taste of raw ingredients on every dishes. Note that they change menu seasonally, so the dishes we found in old reviews were not there.

First timers here - we stopped by Golden on our drive back to Colorado Springs this past Sunday, and I'm so glad we did. We had such a great experience! Our server was amazing - super pleasant and knowledgeable (AJ M.). The ambiance was modern with a touch of quirkiness - like how each table had a different set of fun salt and pepper shakers (we had banana-shaped ones - so cute). Highly recommend the french press coffee and coffee cake - absolutely delicious. I loved the bean used for the coffee. The sausage and peppers were good. I thought the sausage was bland, but the potatoes and peppers were well-seasoned. The duck confit was good as well. I will def stop by next time we are in the area to try other entree options and repeat the coffee with the coffee cake - yum!

Little hair here and there, but that aioli was still delightful! Parking super convenient first 2 hours free, though I might utilize the time a little more efficiently by brunching at 13.

Let's be honest, we don't talk about the suburbs enough. From Aurora to Arvada, there are so many great places that deserve more attention! So, we made our way to Golden to check out Abejas, a community-focused restaurant that puts a ton of effort into seasonal dishes. Located right in the heart of Golden, this place absolutely needs to be on your list! What we ordered: Bread Service Cheese Plate: 3 cheeses, pickled vegetables, fruit preserves, pickled mustard seeds, crostini Salmon Crudo: mango honey puree, candied orange rind chutney, jalapeño, macadamia nuts Black Cod: root vegetable gratin, mornay, parsley almond pistou Squash Risotto: wild mushrooms, Brussels sprouts, roasted squash, crispy leeks Daily Fresh Pasta Sumac Lemon Bar: olive oil crust topped with almond coconut crumble Sticky Toffee Pudding Cookie Dough Ice Cream Chocolate Hazelnut Ice Cream Best bites: The meal started off strong, but then I tried the black cod, and WOW--it was like butter in my mouth, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The squash risotto was another standout, and that sumac lemon bar? Bright, citrusy, and just the right amount of tart. Honestly, don't skip the entrées or dessert here. Everything was fantastic! Check out Abejas next time you're in Golden!

Stopped by for brunch and recovery. I feel we were lucky to get some seats when the downtown area was bustling with people. Ironically, the place we originally went to we'd have to wait 40 mins and here we were able to sit right away. Service was friendly, attentive, and helped with any questions we had. Water refills were frequent despite things getting busier by the end. I had gotten the benedict with avocado and fermented chili, my partner the duck confit. Our other compatriots at the table ordered the carnitas. I also got a side of toast with jam as a recommendation by the server. The jam is locally made which sold me. The flavors were really good for each thing we ordered. The fermented chili provided a nice pop of flavor. The duck confit was savory and easy to chew through. That jam though was quite good and a welcome sweetness during the meal to switch over to. If in the area, we'll certainly stop by again. This was a gem of a place to close out the trip for us.

Abejas: a surprisingly low-key neighborhood spot with incredible cocktails, seasonal menus crafted from high quality ingredients, and friendly staff. What they do well: - Quality seasonal menus with fresh, quality ingredients, mostly conventional American style - Fantastic cocktails - Excellent wine selection What other places may do better - Super unconventional flavors, deeper and riskier recipes - Wider menu If you're in the mood to find out what the chef's got in mind for nice seasonal rotations, definitely stop by. It's not a cheap spot, but it's high quality and a great environment. If you're looking for a more adventurous menu, there are other places that push the boundaries more

I'm honestly torn about writing this review--because once word gets out, Abejas is going to be impossible to get into. But here we go... This place is unreal. The food? Flawless. Every dish was a knockout--fresh, thoughtful, and plated like art. The kind of meal that makes you put your fork down between bites just to process what's happening. And the drinks? Don't even get me started. Whoever's behind the bar is performing alchemy. I've had cocktails across the country, and whatever magic they're working here is top-tier. Part of me wants to keep this place a secret, but let's be honest--Michelin, if you even glance at Golden, this is your first stop. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make a reservation and thank me later. But seriously--don't blow it up too fast. I still want to get a table.

A very small brunch place right off Washington in Golden. Everything was great. It looks like the menu changes seasonally, but definitely get the coffee cake if available. They have unique NA cocktails too, try the beet drink with Seedlip. I ordered the veggie Benedict, superb. The staff pools tips, so you will see many different faces helping you table out. I will return soon and add more pictures.

I stumbled across Abejas when walking around Golden with a friend late one weekend morning. It was the sort of happy tasty accident that puts a real smile on your face. We had a lovely brunch--I got the duck hash, she got the tofu scramble--and I immediately made designs to return with some more friends. The second brunch experience, they were sadly sold out of duck hash (my gosh is that good...seriously such a palette of sweet and savory flavors), but we had a smoked salmon benedict, the pork belly and waffles and the carnitas rancheros. Everything was once again delicious. Truly. We sampled some cocktails as well, and every one we tried was innovative, expertly crafted and balanced. We were so impressed, our server even offered us a look at the dinner menu drinks, and we had to get the Dad Joke (complete with baby corn shoots!). Speaking of the service, it was next level. Our server was congenial, well informed, quite helpful in decision making, and went above and beyond by bringing us some coffee cake when the duck hash came back 86'ed and even offering us some additional baby corn shoots to try. I cannot say enough about my brunch experiences with Abejas, and the drive from Denver be damned, I'm going to work on having dinner here soon!

This place is a beautiful little cozy open air restaurant serving delicious food in Golden, CO! I'm glad I made the 25 minute drive to get here. The little town of Golden that surrounds the restaurant is cute and rich with a history. My wife and I loved the restaurant and overall experience of coming here. We came for brunch and everything was so delicious. I would absolutely order the duck confit again, however I saw someone else order the salmon Benedict and it looked amazing.. The service was on par with upscale restaurants. We want to try their dinner menu, so far I'm pretty impressed with this place. I'll definitely be back and I absolutely recommend it. Happy eating!

The skinny: Yummy cocktails, food, with a lovely ambiance. Overall: Living in the area, we've always found the food in Denver to be much better, and anything close to us to be subpar. We decided to give the area another shot with Abejas and were very pleasantly impressed. The menu is on the smaller side focused on french influences with pastas but we enjoyed everything we got. We had the Oxtail Ragu, Focaccia & Caponata, and lobstser pappadelle. The focaccia was solid but nothing to blow your mind - think good bread with an olive tapenade. The oxtail ragu was subtle - they didn't overdo it with the spices and you could really taste the flavors of the oxtail which we enjoyed. The lobster pappardelle was delicious with a decent helping of lobster and fresh pasta. To finish it off we had a coffee citrus cream dessert that was light and the perfect way to end the meal. They even had some drink pairings that we took advantage of. Ambiance/cost/service: Cute small spot with tables and a small bar area. We opted to sit at the bar area. Service was quick and friendly. Food and drinks are a little pricey - think elevated dining prices - but nothing too absurd. Would I come back: Yes - the food and drinks are solid. A great date night spot and good alternative to driving out to Denver if you are in the area.

What a cute and hospitable place to have a delicious breakfast! We stopped by on a Saturday morning to grab a bite to eat before exploring downtown Golden. I had the duck confit hash, which was the perfect blend of thin crispy potatoes, tender duck, poached eggs, and chevre. My husband tried the pork belly and waffles. Unfortunately, he thought the flavors didn't quite go together. The fruit plate was a nice assortment, though a bit pricey for what it is. Service was attentive; the staff even adjusted the tilt of the sunbrella to make sure our baby wasn't getting blasted with sun during our breakfast. The other items on their menu looked delicious. I'd love to come back the next time we're in Golden.

Abejas means "Bees." Co-owners and long time friends Brandon and Bortles-the B's. Hardworking duo. Like the bee. If you haven't been to this is a reminder to do so! Catch up on their summer menu! The food is phenomenal! Fruits are incorporated into the dish. Makes it very refreshing! Prepped beautifully and unforgettable. The cocktails are stiff and delicious! We were taken cared of by exceptionally well-seasoned staff. Scottie's help in deciding what to order is much appreciated. The two owners do their sourcing locally as much as possible. The sparse but beautiful interior are locally reclaimed materials. Patio. Featured on our visit: Tuna n melon Sashimi Seared scallops Duck Breast Panacota Cocktails: 1. Violet Beauregarde 2. Melon Keller 3. Something Peculiar 4. Summer in Chamonix These are amazing cocktails!! I would get them all again!

I hesitate to do a review for this place or give it 5 starts because I feel by doing so I'm…read morerevealing a well kept secret and encouraging people to discover a hidden gem that may change when the crowds start coming. Goosetown Station is a unique experience. It combines the cool vibe of the grassy setting of Fiddler's Green with the experience of listening to music with friends in an intimate garden setting. The photos I've seen posted so far are misleading. They are outdated pictures of a place that no longer exists. And current pictures don't communicate the vibe. Goosetown Station has evolved to a one-of-a-kind music venue. It has a lot of moving parts that work well together to bring you a music experience that will stay with you long after you leave. But because it's always changing, evolving, improving, what I tell you about the place may change when you visit. But however the place is when you visit, you can be guaranteed your experience will be enjoyable and memorable. PARKING ======== There is parking on the street in front of Goosetown Station. The street is a dead end. If you can't find parking on that street, there is a free, open, public parking lot a 1/2 a block away. There is also public parking one block over in the other direction, across from Ford street. You can park there and walk across the footbridge to get to Goosetown Station. ADMISSION ========== When I walked up the incline to the entrance to the house I was greeted by a young woman who told me they take cash or Venmo. (I read a previous review that said they don't do cash. That's changed.) HANDICAP ACCESS ================ If you are wheelchair bound, the place is set up with no stairs leading to the house. There is seating inside the house and also a full bar and bathrooms. From the inside of the house you cannot see the stage and I'm not sure if they pipe the music from the stage into the house, but they should for those who want to sit inside. There is also comfortable seating on the side of the house in an area you walk through to get to the back where the stage is. I don't remember if there are stairs between the front entrance and this side seating area. If not, it's a comfortable, covered area where you can sit, hear the music and see the stage. SEATING AREAS ============= From the pictures I saw before I went, I imagined this place to be a house with a stage in its small backyard with a patio area to sit and watch the band. I was pleasantly shocked when I walked around the side of the house and entered the backyard. It's a huge area. There is a main grassy seating area with comfortable couches, groups of seats and lots of firepits. There is a huge tented area in one corner of the backyard. There are clusters of seats along the side and a table in a covered area with vines growing up the wall. There is a covered seating area with a firepit next to the outside bar and a large, isolated, sandy play area for children and their parents in another corner of the yard. BARS ===== There is a fully stocked bar to the right when you enter the building. There is a bar in the back and sometimes, depending on the crowds, they set up a bar in the front with beer and wine. I was able to use Apple Pay at the bar. FAMILIES WELCOME ================ This place is kid friendly. There were several young children and their parents attending the concert the night I went. As I mentioned there is a whole sandy play area with toys in a corner of the backyard. FOOD ===== They try to have food trucks to provide something to eat while you listen to music. The night I was there they were having a dispute with the city of Golden who didn't want food trucks parked on their streets (even though the street in front of Goosetown Station is a dead end.) So they offered Anthony's pizzas and had chips and hummus. The food they offer isn't meant to be your main meal as much as just something to help you not have an empty stomach if you're drinking alcohol. MUSIC ====== The quality of the band was outstanding. They played at a volume that was just enough to fill the backyard. They weren't trying to rock the neighborhood but the sound was sufficient to be heard over the quiet conversations of the guests. "THE FEEL" ========= At the risk of sounding sexist, this place feels like it was designed by women. In fact I only saw one man working the venue. He was the bartender inside. Other than that it was women attending to the visitors. I say it seems like women designed this place because it looked like it was deliberately planned to be comfortable, charming, welcoming and beautiful. The details of this place speak of someone who wants to create an atmosphere that goes beyond utility. Even the bathrooms are nicely decorated with candles burning. If you go to Goosetown Station, enjoy yourself and please don't change anything. It's perfect just the way it is. (Check out my pictures to see how this place looks now.)

It tasted more like an IPA, which we both hate, than an Amber. Didn't care for this one at all. After finishing the flight, we each had a Czech lager followed by the pecan brown. The more of the lager I drank, the less I liked it. It was fine, but not sure I'd get it again. All in all, cool place with good beer. Especially on a nice day where you can sit outside.
