Stopped by for a quick bite before heading back to the hotel. Atomic Cowboy, Denver Biscuit Co and Fat Sully's pizza are all at this location. Casual restaurant with a bar in the front and ample seating inside and patio outside. Service was quick and efficient. My son and I shared an order of Sully's fries: waffle fries smothered in house-made sausage gravy, pimento cheese sauce, bacon + green onions. The gravy is so amazing that we HAD to come back again, and we ordered breakfast items from their Denver biscuit co menu.

The nice thing about atomic cowboy fat Sully's Denver biscuit company is that there is always something for everyone. We got a pizza Takeaway and it was pretty good but definitely would've been better if I would've been drinking lip slices are huge. That is true. I probably should've stopped with one but was starving and ate two. It's been a while, but I remember really liking drinking at atomic cowboy and the biscuits at Denver biscuit Company are outstanding.

What a great spot on a Thursday evening. Nice indoor and outdoor seating options with a bar in the center and open format layout of the restaurant. I stopped in with my firmed for a slice and a burger. As I was told they were know for great pizza and burgers. Food was okay but pizza could've been better. We sat outside and the service was very quick. By the time we got our food they started bingo which was free to play and they game aware free coupons for half pints of beer and that kept the fun going for over 2 hours.

Nice fun place to grab a meal and hang out with friends/family. Lots of seating including a patio area. It's located in the downtown strip. Our server was friendly and attentive. The food was good and generous portions. The "Big Ass Slice" is truly a huge pizza slice. Not only was it big, it was delicious. They didn't skimp on the toppings. Sully's Fries was so filling. It was our first time having both sausage and mushroom gravy over fries. Lastly, the K-Mack was excellent. The biscuit was perfect, not too doughy nor flaky. The chicken was juicy and tender. It was well flavored. Just be warned... there's a kick to this biscuit sandwich. When you're in Golden, make sure you give this place a try.

Cute local spot on the downtown strip. It took a few min to be greeted once we walked in but they were on the busier side so it was understandable. Once we were seated tho it took 10 min for a server to welcome us or even say hello so that was a bit irritating. Once we were greeted by our server she was very nice & friendly so it helped relieve some of the tables irritation. She explained how large the pizzas are and how one slice is usually more than enough for one person. She was also correct too. The slices are HUGE! Memorable item here that I had never had before was the pumpkin martini. I had ordered the espresso martini and she suggested the pumpkin and it was delicious! It is a seasonal drink so not offered all the time but if you can try it, definitely suggest you do!

This place is absolutely phenomenal! The staff are sweet and all the entrees are pretty good. The pizza was really tasty but unexpectedly, the burger was the shining star of this place. It was one of the most amazing burgers I've ever had in my life. Hearty, flavorful, perfect buns, but not heavy or overwhelming. It's a shame I didn't get to try their famous biscuits but thats because we came after 3 on a weekend. The atmosphere is great as well. It's so nice sitting out on the deck and listen to faint music while people watching. Forewarning, the "Big Ass Slice" of pizza is BIG.

Talk about some very indulgent and delicious food. I'm so glad I went on a 5 mile hike before eating the Lola sandwich here. There are some healthier options like salad but be ready for very rich food choices at Atomic Cowboy. Really nice servers, patio was enjoyable with lots of dog friends allowed out there.

Don't really understand what this joint has going. So much moving and filled with one-of-a-kind memorabilia. Joined them for breakfast...amazing choices....Food came quick and hot. When in Golden, definitely needs to be on your list to try.

A tale of two cities. We hit Atomic Cowboy for breakfast our first night in town and came again last night for " a slice" after driving back from the Rockies game. We showed up and there was some argument going on outside. We walked in to we later found was the bartender "maybe a manager too don't know" telling an employee not to let certain people back in pointing passed us to the people outside we had passed on the way in. We got seated and a lady from the arguing group had come back in and was using a bunch of profanity talking to us while waiting for her pizza and obviously way drunk. The girl who seated us tried to calmly diffuse the situation about the time her order showed up. Thee employee I thought handled it very well and ultimately had to call the police in to remove the problem since once the lady got outside, she banged on the window really hard and that was pretty damn cool. Anyway, we got our pizza that was just perfect.. and being across the street from the golden hotel was just skipping a jump back to our room after that. Whether it's breakfast late night or anytime in between this place is definitely worth coming to.

We popped into Atomic Cowboy during our 1-night stay in Golden this February. We were both craving pizza and had heard of their "big-ass slice" and just had to try it. They aren't exaggerating when they say "big-ass slice"--those slices were MASSIVE. Along with our big-ass pizza slices, we got the loaded garlic knots, which were also delicious. Everything hit the spot and was just what we were looking for. It is a fun environment with TVs all around and tons of board/card games to play. Service was fast and friendly other than my wife's gin and tonic the server seemed to forget about. The G&T finally came near the end of our meal, but our server made up for it by comping it. I would certainly come back here.

After taking the trail along the river, we walked across the bridge and right away saw Atomic Cowboy. It looked like a cute place to try, so in we went. We were immediately seated and approached by a very friendly server. She let us know that we had a couple of minutes if we wanted a biscuit, as they were about to stop making them for the day So we ordered an iced tea and biscuit each, some honey-butter and strawberry rhubarb jelly. The jelly was not as thick as we thought it would be, but it tasted good. The biscuit was huge, crispy on top and fluffy inside. We each ate half and took the other half home. Very cute place, yummy biscuits and friendly, attentive service!

A visit to the State Room's grand opening this afternoon brought me on over and I am not mad at it! I absolutely love the old mountain town feel of Golden and the State Room is RIGHT in the heart of it. Find the buffalo on Washington St. and the sign that welcomes you into the city and you'll find yourself right in front of Buffalo Rose, a music venue that has been completely renovated and seriously revitalized. The building itself was built in the 20's, so this place is just steeped in history, but the decor in The State Room is cozy and inviting with large, leather armchairs and a fireplace, but also chic with ultra cool and modern light fixtures and a bit of that exposed brick that I've grown to love in the Denver area. The State Room is the bar that lives right upstairs leading to a great balcony view of the stage. Beer is served downstairs, but come upstairs for some fantastic cocktails featuring State 38 Distilling's local spirits. Mitch made me a very tasty Old Fashioned which I'm pretty sure is my new go-to if my fave whiskey mule isn't available. Now that I've been introduced to Golden, I will be making my way over more often to explore and a drink at The State Room may just be my first stop - I have my eye on that smoking Old Fashioned for next time. Ps. check their daily happy hour drink specials for some of their popular cocktails starting at $5.

July 30, 2026 - Golden CO…read more From our table on the shaded, dog-friendly patio, we had a perfect view of the iconic "Howdy Folks!" arch over Washington Avenue, making it a fun place to relax and people-watch. We each enjoyed a glass of La Crema Chardonnay ($13) and shared the Three Amigos appetizer ($13), which comes with tortilla chips, house queso, guacamole, and roasted tomato-jalapeño salsa, along with the Corn and Butternut Enchiladas ($17). At first, I thought the house queso was a little too spicy for my taste, but it quickly grew on me--I couldn't stop dipping chips into it! It was rich, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of the meal. The guacamole and salsa were also fresh and tasty. The Corn and Butternut Enchiladas were good, though not quite as memorable. I ordered mine with regular cheese instead of the vegan option. The patio was comfortable, and the location made for an enjoyable lunch stop. Just be aware that Washington Avenue is busy, so there is plenty of traffic noise. Overall, we'd stop here again.
