    Half a cinnamon roll order

A tale of two cities. We hit Atomic Cowboy for breakfast our first night in town and came again last night for " a slice" after driving back from the Rockies game. We showed up and there was some argument going on outside. We walked in to we later found was the bartender "maybe a manager too don't know" telling an employee not to let certain people back in pointing passed us to the people outside we had passed on the way in. We got seated and a lady from the arguing group had come back in and was using a bunch of profanity talking to us while waiting for her pizza and obviously way drunk. The girl who seated us tried to calmly diffuse the situation about the time her order showed up. Thee employee I thought handled it very well and ultimately had to call the police in to remove the problem since once the lady got outside, she banged on the window really hard and that was pretty damn cool. Anyway, we got our pizza that was just perfect.. and being across the street from the golden hotel was just skipping a jump back to our room after that. Whether it's breakfast late night or anytime in between this place is definitely worth coming to.

This place is absolutely phenomenal! The staff are sweet and all the entrees are pretty good. The pizza was really tasty but unexpectedly, the burger was the shining star of this place. It was one of the most amazing burgers I've ever had in my life. Hearty, flavorful, perfect buns, but not heavy or overwhelming. It's a shame I didn't get to try their famous biscuits but thats because we came after 3 on a weekend. The atmosphere is great as well. It's so nice sitting out on the deck and listen to faint music while people watching. Forewarning, the "Big Ass Slice" of pizza is BIG.

Don't really understand what this joint has going. So much moving and filled with one-of-a-kind memorabilia. Joined them for breakfast...amazing choices....Food came quick and hot. When in Golden, definitely needs to be on your list to try.

Talk about some very indulgent and delicious food. I'm so glad I went on a 5 mile hike before eating the Lola sandwich here. There are some healthier options like salad but be ready for very rich food choices at Atomic Cowboy. Really nice servers, patio was enjoyable with lots of dog friends allowed out there.

    Big-Ass Pepperoni Slice

We popped into Atomic Cowboy during our 1-night stay in Golden this February. We were both craving pizza and had heard of their "big-ass slice" and just had to try it. They aren't exaggerating when they say "big-ass slice"--those slices were MASSIVE. Along with our big-ass pizza slices, we got the loaded garlic knots, which were also delicious. Everything hit the spot and was just what we were looking for. It is a fun environment with TVs all around and tons of board/card games to play. Service was fast and friendly other than my wife's gin and tonic the server seemed to forget about. The G&T finally came near the end of our meal, but our server made up for it by comping it. I would certainly come back here.

    Biscuit and iced tea

After taking the trail along the river, we walked across the bridge and right away saw Atomic Cowboy. It looked like a cute place to try, so in we went. We were immediately seated and approached by a very friendly server. She let us know that we had a couple of minutes if we wanted a biscuit, as they were about to stop making them for the day So we ordered an iced tea and biscuit each, some honey-butter and strawberry rhubarb jelly. The jelly was not as thick as we thought it would be, but it tasted good. The biscuit was huge, crispy on top and fluffy inside. We each ate half and took the other half home. Very cute place, yummy biscuits and friendly, attentive service!

Loved this place! It is def an indulgence, but we were on vacay. Indoor/outdoor seating. Two concepts; biscuits and then pizza/smash burger. Great drink menu too. Unlimited self-serve coffee bar, currently (7/25) $4.25. We were there around 10:30am, after putting our name on waitlist whilst I finished my walk on nearby Clear Creek. We decided to get biscuits, the Winona (nashville hot chix and pimento cheese) and dbc club - both amazing. We shared McHashbrowns which as the name suggests are reminiscent of a famous fast-food arches place. I got strawberry-rhubarb jam ($1 upcharge) which was not jam; it was a purée. It was ok, but I want a thick spreadable jam, not a sweet liquid. Our server was awesome! Very clean. Fun vibe. Go! Enjoy!

    Lights out burger
    Joel H.

The lights out burger was really good. I like the burger sauce and it was like a thousand island sauce with a little kick. During happy hour the burger is only $8 which and in downtown Golden that's a pretty good deal. The service was excellent and the server made sure to take care of us. I also like the vibe of the place and I'll definitely be back.

I have always been so confused by the multiple names for the Denver biscuit company, and I think I finally figured out how it works. Still seems silly- just name it one over arching name and just have a breakfast and a dinner menu? But Fat Sullys is the pizza, dbc is brunch (which ends at 2pm most days), and atomic cowboy is the bar (alcohol served all day). I absolutely adore Dbc, and I am always impressed by the food. The pizza is New York style, which I just have to accept that I don't love thin crust and just stop ordering it. The burger, the only burger on the menu, claims to have been rated the best burger in Denver, and it was good, but the best? It had two smash patties served crispy on it, with house made pickles and a burger sauce that tasted like a tangy thousand island. The bun was great, a nice pillowy brioche. They had some really nice specials for happy hour, and on tuesdays they run happy hour all day. I will definitely be back to drink for sure, and if I got hungry I wouldn't turn down the burger, it's very good bar food. The decor is a fun mix of mid century decor, old school pressed tin ceiling, and some neon mixed with graffiti. It works well!

Three Rub Double with scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, honey butter, and blueberry bourbon jam
    Michelle E.

If you want an amazing, homemade, buttermilk biscuit... this IS the place! Their homemade honey butter and jams are phenomenal. I recommend the blueberry-bourbon and the strawberry rhubarb jams. My go-to meal for breakfast is the Three Run Double; my husband orders his with ham steak and a side of sausage gravy, I order mine with chicken sausage. The sausage gravy is creamy and tastes like something my grandma used to make. Also keep in mind, the portions are ample. This place is great but I wish they offered greens and/or vegetables as side options with breakfast. This restaurant is very popular, so go online and put yourself on the wait list ahead of time. It's usually a 15-20 minute wait. Bonus: they allow dogs in the enclosed patio attached to the cafe and they'll bring a water bowl for your furry friend.

We had breakfast this morning at Atomic Cowboy in Golden, and it did not disappoint. I went big with The Tomahawk, and it was absolutely delicious--hearty, flavorful, and cooked just right. The kids had French toast and eggs and cleared their plates with smiles, so that says it all. My wife ordered the same and loved it, and my son went classic with bacon and eggs, which hit the spot. The service was outstanding--friendly, fast, and attentive. And the vibe? Super chill, with just the right mix of laid-back and lively. Great spot for breakfast, especially if you're looking for something local with personality. We'll definitely be back. #AtomicCowboyGolden #BreakfastVibes #GoldenColoradoEats #FamilyBrunch #TheTomahawk #SupportLocal #GoodEats #GoldenCO #FoodieFinds #BrunchGoals #ColoradoBreakfast #YumInGolden #EatLocalCO Follow me on IG @hungry_dude_usa

Massive portions. And I think I can say this was probably the best actual biscuit I've ever had in my life. Flaky on the outside, with a soft and buttery inside that melts in your mouth. The sausage gravy is delicious but the pro move is to get it on the side so the biscuit doesn't get too soggy. The fried chicken was expertly fried and seasoned. Honestly didn't need the bacon, but it was perfectly crispy and hearty so why not? The hash browns were nice and crispy. Service was very friendly and the vibe was very cute.

    Pizza time
    Nina C.

Lovedd this pizza! We did a hike nearby at Apex trail and stopped here for some grub after and it was delicious. The pizza is great and you can choose everything to build it yourself, all the way down to the sauces. They have a heap of games to play while you wait for your food and the place was lively on a Sunday afternoon but not so much so that you couldn't get a seat. It's located in the cutest part of the strip and has lots of shops all around. They have enclosed outdoor seating as well and our server was so sweet and attentive. Definitely will be back to have the burger next time, tried a bite of my friends and it was so good!

Goosetown Station is a unique experience. It combines the cool vibe of the grassy setting of Fiddler's Green with the experience of listening to music with friends in an intimate garden setting. The photos I've seen posted so far are misleading. They are outdated pictures of a place that no longer exists. And current pictures don't communicate the vibe. Goosetown Station has evolved to a one-of-a-kind music venue. It has a lot of moving parts that work well together to bring you a music experience that will stay with you long after you leave. But because it's always changing, evolving, improving, what I tell you about the place may change when you visit. But however the place is when you visit, you can be guaranteed your experience will be enjoyable and memorable. PARKING ======== There is parking on the street in front of Goosetown Station. The street is a dead end. If you can't find parking on that street, there is a free, open, public parking lot a 1/2 a block away. There is also public parking one block over in the other direction, across from Ford street. You can park there and walk across the footbridge to get to Goosetown Station. ADMISSION ========== When I walked up the incline to the entrance to the house I was greeted by a young woman who told me they take cash or Venmo. (I read a previous review that said they don't do cash. That's changed.) HANDICAP ACCESS ================ If you are wheelchair bound, the place is set up with no stairs leading to the house. There is seating inside the house and also a full bar and bathrooms. From the inside of the house you cannot see the stage and I'm not sure if they pipe the music from the stage into the house, but they should for those who want to sit inside. There is also comfortable seating on the side of the house in an area you walk through to get to the back where the stage is. I don't remember if there are stairs between the front entrance and this side seating area. If not, it's a comfortable, covered area where you can sit, hear the music and see the stage. SEATING AREAS ============= From the pictures I saw before I went, I imagined this place to be a house with a stage in its small backyard with a patio area to sit and watch the band. I was pleasantly shocked when I walked around the side of the house and entered the backyard. It's a huge area. There is a main grassy seating area with comfortable couches, groups of seats and lots of firepits. There is a huge tented area in one corner of the backyard. There are clusters of seats along the side and a table in a covered area with vines growing up the wall. There is a covered seating area with a firepit next to the outside bar and a large, isolated, sandy play area for children and their parents in another corner of the yard. BARS ===== There is a fully stocked bar to the right when you enter the building. There is a bar in the back and sometimes, depending on the crowds, they set up a bar in the front with beer and wine. I was able to use Apple Pay at the bar. FAMILIES WELCOME ================ This place is kid friendly. There were several young children and their parents attending the concert the night I went. As I mentioned there is a whole sandy play area with toys in a corner of the backyard. FOOD ===== They try to have food trucks to provide something to eat while you listen to music. The night I was there they were having a dispute with the city of Golden who didn't want food trucks parked on their streets (even though the street in front of Goosetown Station is a dead end.) So they offered Anthony's pizzas and had chips and hummus. The food they offer isn't meant to be your main meal as much as just something to help you not have an empty stomach if you're drinking alcohol. MUSIC ====== The quality of the band was outstanding. They played at a volume that was just enough to fill the backyard. They weren't trying to rock the neighborhood but the sound was sufficient to be heard over the quiet conversations of the guests. "THE FEEL" ========= At the risk of sounding sexist, this place feels like it was designed by women. In fact I only saw one man working the venue. He was the bartender inside. Other than that it was women attending to the visitors. I say it seems like women designed this place because it looked like it was deliberately planned to be comfortable, charming, welcoming and beautiful. The details of this place speak of someone who wants to create an atmosphere that goes beyond utility. Even the bathrooms are nicely decorated with candles burning. If you go to Goosetown Station, enjoy yourself and please don't change anything. It's perfect just the way it is. (Check out my pictures to see how this place looks now.)

A visit to the State Room's grand opening this afternoon brought me on over and I am not mad at it! I absolutely love the old mountain town feel of Golden and the State Room is RIGHT in the heart of it. Find the buffalo on Washington St. and the sign that welcomes you into the city and you'll find yourself right in front of Buffalo Rose, a music venue that has been completely renovated and seriously revitalized. The building itself was built in the 20's, so this place is just steeped in history, but the decor in The State Room is cozy and inviting with large, leather armchairs and a fireplace, but also chic with ultra cool and modern light fixtures and a bit of that exposed brick that I've grown to love in the Denver area. The State Room is the bar that lives right upstairs leading to a great balcony view of the stage. Beer is served downstairs, but come upstairs for some fantastic cocktails featuring State 38 Distilling's local spirits. Mitch made me a very tasty Old Fashioned which I'm pretty sure is my new go-to if my fave whiskey mule isn't available. Now that I've been introduced to Golden, I will be making my way over more often to explore and a drink at The State Room may just be my first stop - I have my eye on that smoking Old Fashioned for next time.
