Stumbled on this place about a year ago, and what a cool find. I moved here from CA where vegetarianism is pretty mainstream and finding tasty food is never difficult. CO, I love, but finding a restaurant with well thought out vegetarian options has been a huge challenge. Went there today for Mother's Day lunch. The food was good, the service was good, but beware of the 20% "8 person or more" tip charge on top of the 2% kitchen appreciation charge that they don't mention! I didn't look over the bill, which is my bad, and just handed over my credit card. I always tip 25%, and today was no exception, so later in the day when wondering why lunch was over $250 and looking over the bill, I realized that I had paid a 47% tip, and we only had 7 people, not 8! Again, my bad for not looking over the bill, but seriously! I think they should have pointed out the automatic 22% before I paid the 25% on top of that! read more

Saturday afternoon visit, a few other places had a 45 minute to an hour wait. Tried here and it was only a couple minutes. Busy place, was bustling. Here is what we liked * Good selection of local beers and it was cold. * the flat bread was good, little crisp and decent amount of toppings * The salad was good, nothing bad to say about it but nothing out of the ordinary- decent size * For being busy service was attentive. This place was pretty busy, so it seemed like it would be the best option in the area. The views were great from the patio and everything else was average Food: I was actually surprised to see a lot of Cajun options o the menu! I probably should have ordered one of those , but I opted for the burger instead. I ordered it "medium" but half way through it was rare (I'm not sure how they managed that but it's kinda impressive). The bun was soggy and the side salad was not worth it. The fried okra appetizer was the best part. Seating: They have some outdoor tables but those were full. The inside tables were packed as well. There was bar seating and seating at the patio railing (which had the views) Service: Service was a bit awkward. Great find if you like Cajun food they do a decent job. Rotating selection of local taps and cans. Service was friendly and spot on, the place is clean and decently priced. We enjoyed blackened catfish and shrimp & grits (creamy and delicious!) with jalapeño cornbread. The cornbread is not listed as a side, but for $2 they give you a big slab which is toasty and easy to share. Spice level was mild on our dishes, but hot sauce is on each table. Good for groups. This was the best burger I had the whole trip! We sat outside on the street and had a great time! We started with the cheese curds that were 10/10 when dipped in their homemade ranch. They also came with a side of BBQ sauce which I didn't really understand, we preferred the ranch. The Mardi Gras burger was piled high with bacon, pickled jalapeños and other toppings that complemented the juicy burger patty perfectly. The jalapeños packed a punch so I knocked half of them off and went back to munching. Delicious! The side salad was fresh and I enjoyed one of their homemade vinaigrettes. Downtown Golden Colorado has lots of places to choose from for dining and we picked one of the best! Friendly, fast service reasonable prices, mystery beer deals on Thursday. What more could you want? The menu has clever wording to describe the options for food. We got a Mountain Fig Pizza. Delightful flavors to the palette! My group of friends needed a place to watch a football game on Saturday night, and this place fit the bill. There were a few TVs, and we got them to change the channel on the TV above our table to the one we wanted. We got some truffle fries and boneless wings to start. The wings were a lot better than I thought they would be, but they were a bit pricey. I got the chicken sandwich with Cajun fries. The sandwich was a little thinner than I expected, but the fries were very good. You do have to pay to upgrade from chips to fries, which was annoying. This place had a good amount of seating and could seat a large group. I do think it is overpriced, but the food was good. read more

We chose this place on a whim because it looked fun and smelled good. We also wanted some local beer and this place delivered exactly what we were looking for. Went for a great hike at red rocks this morning and wanted to grab a beer in Golden so we parked, walked around and happened upon this place. It's super cute, great service, friendly staff and food was delicious. The cheese curds are amazing!! For lunch I had the CBR pizza on a GF crust and it was delicious! My husband had the Cajun Chicken sandwich, equally as good with fresh cut chips. We had the pleasure of being served by Cameron and Val who told us they are both new and we would've never known it. They were awesome to chat with and made some great recommendations. Would definitely recommend to anyone stopping through! I consistently come here when I live 30 minutes away closer to Lafayette. They have the best gumbo I've had in all of Colorado and better than I can make. It's a cute little spot, but the gumbo and jambalaya are amazing. Highly recommend. Plus their cornbread is moist and tasty. read more

Colorado has been my big trip for the last two years now and I've stopped at this place both times. Both times I got the Jambalaya and it's tasty! The portions are VERY generous and the jalapeño cornbread is top notch. The only thing holding this place back from a 5 is that it took almost 10 minutes for us to be acknowledged, I can't really put that on the servers though as they only had 2 servers on the floor and another working behind the bar on an absolutely packed Saturday night. read more

I went here with a few friends on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. We struggled to find a seat at the beginning (as it was seat yourself), but eventually a table left. Our server was over quickly and was super great! He brought us lot of water and checked in a lot. The food here was pretty good. Having spent a decent amount of time in Louisiana, I'm pretty well acquainted with Cajun food. The red beans and rice were yummy, and the gumbo was decent. I wish it was a bit spicier, but not bad. We stopped in for lunch and I was initially intrigued by their Cajun food, but - after doing some due diligence (checking photos on Yelp) - I decided to stick with a burger. Everyone in my party got a burger (Sangre de Cristos and a Black & Blue), and everyone commented how good they were! There was a good cheese-burger-bun ratio and the hamburgers were cooked as ordered, which doesn't always happen. The chips were homemade...but meh. Amanda gave us excellent service and we split a Sangre De Cristo (green chili) burger that we upgraded to elk for $3 more. I ordered it medium rare because I didn't want to risk it drying out. It was probably more medium but it was still excellent--not too dry and not too gamey (but a little bit gamey or else why order game?) We stopped by after walking around town a few minutes and trying to find somewhere to eat outside and quickly. I'm glad we found this place as it was exactly what we wanted. We were quickly seated at an outside table and a very nice server brought water and took our drink orders she knew the menu and what was available and out. She was great with our questions because gator was of interest. I ordered a gator appetizer and BBQ wings. I also ordered a local IPA. I like mine hoppy and the server said it was. It must have Co hoppy but a citrusy and tasty beer. The gator bites were spicy but not overly hot. They were fried well and had a dipping sauce that complimented the bites. The wings were cooked perfectly crispy outside and tender chicken inside. They were a good size with a lot of meat on the bones. Some of the best wings I've had. I sit at the Bar. Why? I'm typically alone, and like to banter with the bartender, few of which are trained to banter. Sadly I cannot recall the Brown Eyed Girl's name. She's a natural bartender, giving biking and hiking advise as well as knowing what's on the menu and keeping beer glasses filled. How was the beer? Like just about a million other bars. How was the food? My "Pig" (Bacon burger with BBQ sauce) was tasty, but came with potato chips, which weren't very impressive.
