During an evening amble along the creek, we saw Bridgewater's deck facing the creek and the foothills and decided to eat dinner there. We put our names in for a 20-minute wait for a table and found seats at the bar. Bartender Lucas was so welcoming and friendly that we decided to stay at the bar to eat and we were not disappointed! First of all, the view is gorgeous and the staff is so amiable--even when busy--that it made it super entertaining to sit there. Everyone else who bellied up to the bar was a local, which tells you a lot about the quality of the place. We had lots of fun conversations and it made a great start to our vacation. The drinks were fantastic! I got a Sidecar and it's the best I've ever had! Lucas made an off-menu Tequila Old Fashioned for my husband and it was delicious. Later he recommended a Coors-made beer that you can only get at a couple of places in town, a German lager, and it was really good. For food, we got Fried Green Tomatoes, the Prime Rib Dip, and a bowl of Colorado Green Chili. Everything was delicious but that chili was fantastic. I would go back just for that! The only caution of our entire visit was that the food took awhile to come out, so if you're starving, it might not be the right place. The only positive part of our experience at Bridgewater Grill was the hostess, who was the only person that seemed responsive and attentive. After being seated, we sat for quite a while with no menus and no acknowledgment. Once we finally got menus, I asked for a beer only to find out there wasn't a beer list included, so we had to wait again just to see what beers were available. The menu itself was very limited and overpriced, though I suppose you're paying for the creekside location more than the food. After we finished eating, our waitress informed us her shift was ending and asked if we could pay the check immediately, which we did. We requested a receipt but never received one. From there, service became even more disorganized. We were waiting for a friend to arrive, and once he did, it took an extremely long time just to get him a beer because we were left without a server for quite a while before another waitress finally took over. To top it all off, while we were still sitting there, the manager came by and asked us to leave because another reservation was coming in -- despite there being multiple vacant tables around us. After the poor service, delays, lack of communication, and being rushed out unnecessarily, it left a really bad impression overall. Checked this place out for a mid-afternoon snack after hiking and enjoyed a delicious barbecue chicken flatbread. We were able to sit out on the deck and listen to the sounds of silver Creek nearby, which was quite nice. We also tried their garlic Parmesan fries, which were quite good, but we did have to ask for garlic aïoli to accompany them, they were just served with ketchup by default. Come for the food, stay for the service. The food was alright, more to come, but the service was some of the best we've ever had. Jeff was amazing: kind, sharp, and a true class act. We had an issue with our food not coming out correctly, but Jeff handled it so well. After the overcooked burger was sent back, he made sure we received an excellent replacement, and it turned out to be one of the best burgers we've had. Overall, the food was good, except for the two burgers that initially came out--both were overcooked and bland. So, my advice: don't order the burger. Happy Hour always makes me smile!! Monday through Friday happy hour is from 3:00.-6:00 pm. Half price starters, draft beer and well drinks special prices! The service is always punctual and friendly staff. It's just a great location in downtown Golden. I love the mussels and my dinner mate likes the barbecue chicken flat bread. From the bottom of my soul!! This was some of the best food I've ever had in my home state of Colorado. Good grief ! ‍ the chili cheese fries are diabolical. The pancakes are dangerous! We stopped in here after the factory tour. It was happy hour so all appetizers were $10, which was nice. They also had cheap bears. I think we each had 2 beers and a 3 slider appetizer for about $20. My wife and I are in town from Chicago, stopped here for dinner and sat at the bar. Our Bartender Lucas was absolutely awesome. Fun, joking and attentive to guests. He had thorough recommendations for food and drink. We even met Josh one of the chefs and had a lengthy discussion about his carrot cake which was some of the best I've ever had. On June 15, 2025 we went to this business for Father's Day lunch. We were sat immediately and ordered 1 iced tea and 2 water. We placed our food order approximately 3 mins later, 2 salads and 1 sandwich. We then proceeded to wait 37 minutes for the food to arrive (which it never did) before we left to attend to other issues. We were informed that the "kitchen was busy" although when left, we were 1 of 3 tables inside the restaurant although the patio of approximately 15 tables was nearly full. I practically lived in this restaurant during my brief stay in Golden. They had a uniquely intriguing special each day that kept drawing me in. Food highlights were the Bacon-Wrapped Bison Meatloaf and the Salmon BLT. Both were equally delicious. Also, if you've never tried the Herman Joseph's Private Reserve, do it now! The staff was friendly and attentive. The restaurant (and the hotel) both have an old-west vibe, which I dig. I don't understand why this place currently only has a 3.5 star rating. The restaraunt in the Holden Hotel is supposed to highly recommended, however our experience was less than expected. To start, the Lavanda cocktail was excellent! The lavender lemon and rose was a wonderful flavor combo. Our waiter was also fabulous and gave great recommendations and was super attentive. It was lovely to sit out on the deck and have the golden river view while enjoying this drink. Unfortunately, the positives ended there. The Ceaser salad was just a bit off. Not sure if the dressing had gone bad, but the taste was bland and very off. It didn't exactly taste like Ceaser dressing, and the after tast was horrible. My friend ordered a house salad with salmon and her salmon was over cooked and when she tasted the Ceaser she was a bit thrown since it had been highly reviewed. I tried to add crushed red pepper to hide the flavor and it only mildly worked. The smoked trout dip tasted way too heavily of the sour cream or whatever dairy product was in it. I was a bit shocked at how little smoked trout was in this dip, and what was worse, it seemed like there was an excess of Worcester sauce in there. It ultimately was like a Pinterest fail attempt. Usually this is an easy and fabulous dish at most places so we were pretty disappointed. This is a lovely spot for drinks, however nothing we had was worth recommending past that. read more

Solid spot to grab lunch by the Clear Creek River. The staff weren't the most attentive and the hostess wasn't the friendliest but overall it was still a pleasant experience. My partner and I just moved to the area and have been scoping this place out for some time and I'm so glad we finally decided to try it. I got the Salmon BLTA.... Legitimately the best sandwich I've ever had, who know bacon and salmon go together?!? THEY DO. My boyfriend got the meatloaf and happily ate the entire thing.
