Eh. It was alright. I would say nothing spectacular, which there wasn't, but I would definitely say an interesting choice of menu selection. This places options often ventures outside the box, which is great and makes for interesting dishes. However, the quality of such dishes was just ok. The waffles with my pork belly and waffles were soggy and definitely underwhelming but the pork belly itself was ok. It was tiresome after a little bit and the compote with it only added a little bit of flare till I got tired of it. Other people I went with got the eggs Benedict which was average and not reasonable priced for the rating of 6/10. Would be a fun one and done I guess for the creative menu. read more

Gosh, talk about a disappointment. I feel horrible leaving this review, but I do t want anyone else to be a disappointed as I was. The reviews were so good and images looked appetizing so we thought it would be a great choice for a date night. I had the Fresh Market Fish and it was horrible. We ate here for a work team dinner. It was actually a little nicer than I had planned for because we had just got done with a hike so felt we were underdressed but it was fine. I had no idea what to expect but was blown away by how delicious the food was. The service was great. I got the halibut for dinner and oh my, it was amazing. The fish melted in my mouth and there were so many yummy flavors with everything else that was played with the fish. I'm always impressed when I find great fish on Colorado as a land locked state. This is a "golden" gem! The service, food and drinks were outstanding! I sat up at the bar and started with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon and paired it with the hanger steak entree. WOW! The steak melted in your mouth and the flavors explode in every bite. Based off of how good that entree was, I set my sights on the pork belly starter, which didn't let me down either. The flavors the chef puts together are incredible here. And I wasn't done there, I somehow managed to eat the salted caramel ice cream and glad I did! Every server I interacted with at this restaurant was very knowledgeable and pleasant. The bartender, Michael, was great and we had a very pleasant conversation. I will absolutely keep Abejas in mind for special occasions as dining for two is on the higher price range, but it's well worth it. I enjoyed the beautiful space with open windows and lots of greenery. It's an intimate restaurant with fine dining food but in a casual setting. Please don't wear your flip flops but you don't need to dress to the nine's either to enjoy this farm to table experience. Definitely order the bread service. Although the service that I have received at abejas was less than I would have initially expected during my first visit, I must commend them for the excellent service that I have received tonight. I was impressed with the warmth and kindness I have received from the moment I walked in the door to the moment I left. The host and waitress were personable and provided excellent service, and the food was cooked to perfection and exploding with flavors and colors. My boyfriend and I ordered the octopus and fois grad for our appetizers the first time we were there, and again last night. We were torn between trying something new, or ordering the same appetizers because of how tasty they were the first time. In the end, we both chose one appetizer we wanted and ended up getting the octopus and fois gras again. The octopus was so tender, and paired perfectly with the sweet potato purée and bok choy. The fois gras was rich and creamy, and both appetizers were nothing less than exceptional, just like our main dishes. The duck was perfectly cooked and flavorful, and everything on the dish paired so nicely with each other. Just enjoyed my third meal at Abejas and can't wait to come back. My first visit was for brunch, and included a perfectly poached egg to accompany my Eggs Benedict. My daughters ordered the Meyer Lemon Custard French Toast and Eggs Benedict and we all loved every bite! Since then, I've visited for dinner a couple of times and had Squash Ribbon Salad, Seared Scallops, Alamosa Striped Bass. I am grateful to have friends that share, so I've also tasted the Porcini Risotto and Curried Pork Shank, Everything was outstanding! It's hard to choose a favorite menu item since it's all so flavorful, perfectly prepared, carefully curated ingredients and plated so well. The egg was perfectly prepared.The waffles with berry compote and pork belly was amazing. Our 2 grandsons gobbled up the French toast and biscuits with gravy. If I hadn't ordered that, the smoked trout Benedict is also unique and phenomenal. Everything on this menu is made with care, from scratch. Ambiance is beautiful- the restaurant is cozy & well lit with accents like succulent boxes, funky salt and pepper shakers, and rock climbing ropes dividing the restaurant. I think this place is a great location for an upscale breakfast place. I haven't been for about three years (for personal reasons with one server), but I recommend it and I really enjoy the high expectations for a superb culinary experience. A small building, but a great breakfast. A bit pricy that is why I say upscale, not so much in how you have to dress, but it's easy to spend $60 on breakfast there for two entrees a special drink and tip. I would recommend it. For our 10th anniversary, I took my wife to this very special place. Make sure you make reservations! We saw several parties turned away that walked in off the street. I think we got a little extra special service since it was our anniversary and ended up with a few extra intermezzos. We started with a cocktail since it's not something we normally do, and they were strong, well made concoctions. We made the mistake of getting a bread basket, which was okay, but it probably also filled us up too much for what was yet to come. I had a savory pancetta that was sliced into thick slabs. My wife had a soft shell crab appetizer that was also quite savory. They also brought us a beet salad which we hadn't ordered and was just something extra and nice. Our mains showed up and we were already stuffed! My wife had the shrimp and scallops and I had the flat iron steak over faro. They were both out of this world. We unfortunately had to box up most of the main as we were too full. We didn't stick around for dessert, but I am sure it would have been something quite special.
