Got an email that things went well. When I got home not only was the vacuum not running but the pool looked worse than it did before they came! It was so cloudy I couldn't even see the bottom. When I reached out the way I was spoken too was shocking! I basically said I was disappointed we were looking forward to swimming. I told them we just bought the home I was willing to buy whatever equipment necessary to use fix the pool. His response was Basically he didn't want to deal with our "crunch time" to want to swim! I put it off a couple years until everything started falling apart and I had a big leak (about a foot of water loss per day). I dug up the area I knew was leaking and found it was inside the skimmer, encased in concrete and out of my league for repair, so I yelped the project. Most places either didn't offer leak repair or started taking diagnostics, dye test, pressure test. $$$$$$ before a repair estimate. But not Belval. They were there that same day, listened to me and bid repair, plus all my other requests so I had options. I ended up getting everything done at once (skimmer replace, PebbleTech resurface and replace all the tiles) and the price was very competitive. Less than most wanted for just the resurface. Paul at Belval was great to work with. Him, his team, and all the sub-contractors were very polite, professional, and respectful of my property. I absolutely recommend this company for all your pool repair and resurface needs. Wish I had taken before pictures so you could see what it looked like before, but here is the after. PRO TIP: The PROBLEM is that Don is really unprofessional. He really really REALLY hates being asked a question about a solution he proposes to a problem. His response usually is, "I've been doing this for 20 years, I don't have time to explain myself, I can get new customers in 20 minutes". PRO TIP: Don't have him drain your pool. He requires that you monitor the pump as it is draining the pool even though you are paying him to take care of everything. If you don't mind monitoring the progress of the pool being drained, ask for a discount since you are doing his job. Also, best not to have the pool drained when you aren't able to monitor. PRO TIP: Don likes to throw the pool debris literally anywhere but a trashcan. Make sure you are very clear with him what your expectations are otherwise he dumps the leaves in your yard right next to the pool or on your driveway or the street in front of your house. PRO TIP: Don likes to repair parts without providing a quote, then he just serves the cost to you in an invoice. Make sure you are clear with him about how and when he can repair or replace parts. PRO TIP: If you are fine working with a decent pool tech who thinks he is Gods gift to pool service and is straight up one of the most curmudgeonly men you will ever encounter, look no further, Don is your guy. There is nothing wrong with his pricing or his maintenance (except his inability to use a trash can). He or is wife will show up, work their magic, and leave within 5 minutes and your pool will be crystal clear. If you blink you will miss them. HOWEVER, anything beyond the basics and Don can get a bit temperamental. I have a 2 year old son, sometimes my son is easier to rationalize with then with Don.

Around 11am today, the unions on our backwash assembly broke, rendering the pump and filter inoperable, all while there was quite a bit of remaining dirt from last night in the new pool. The new surface is susceptible to staining and so we couldn't afford to have the pool pump/filter be down for several days. I called many companies and got a hold of Prickly Pools. They advised that their regular distributors were closed for the long weekend, but said they'd call Leslies to see if they could locate the part, and if located could come tomorrow to complete the repair. They ended up locating the part at a Leslies close to our home, so after asking nicely for them to come today, they agreed!! The technician arrived, and advised that we didn't have much pvc left once the broken part was cut off, and that he may have to replumb a lot of additional areas. But, he found a solution using a tool so he didn't have to replumb the additional areas. I appreciated his honesty and creativity in finding a solution that saved me money. I've had a great experience, and it's nice to know that honest, timely and overall great customer service still exists. I was impressed with their offer to call around to Leslies to find the part, agreeing to repair same day at my request, and being honest by coming up with a solution to avoid a more costly replumb. Highly recommend this company!!

Azul Pools redid the gel coat on my pool prior to me purchasing my home in Phoenix. I noticed a…read morecouple tiles coming loose and called to give them the business since they had previously worked on the pool. I was outside of the 3 year warranty that they offered by about 6 months, but had no problem paying for the work. The woman who answered the phone was pleasant each time I called, but it took several attempts over several weeks to get a call back from someone who could assist. Each time she said she'd pass my info on and I'd hear back when they (I believe the owner, but I can't say for sure) returned. I finally got ahold of someone and scheduled an appointment for them to come out and repair the tiles. I changed my work schedule around to accommodate their appointment window and they never showed. I called towards the end of the window and then again afterwards. I left voicemails each time to try to find out if they were still coming. Nobody answered and I never received a call back. I strongly suggest giving your money to a business that wants and appreciates it.

Unfortunately we had a leak in our automatic water filler for the pool. Only issue is that the artificial grass seam is more visible than it was before the repair, but a small eyesore compared to what was turning into a costly and future sinkhole problem.
