He had been taking care of pool maintenance himself but this summer the pool wouldn't get clear and stayed green. My son has had bad experiences with contractors so he didn't want to hire anyone. Being an avid yelper I asked him if I could find a pool company to go out and I'd pay for it if the results were not successful. Well, great news! The results were successful so I don't need to cover it :) My son was happy to pay for quality assistance. He thinks he can now handle cleaning for the winter, after getting some advice from the tech. And we will hire Clear as Crystal to do the maintenance next Summer. I really appreciate the willingness to come out, fix the issue, and explain it to my son so he can learn. He is a young man and these experiences are important. Especially as a fairly new home owner and landlord. They charged a reasonable fee and didn't pressure him to sign up for regular service, although like I said, we probably will- at least for the warmer months. Despite the fact it was after hours (evening before the party), Rod actually spent 20 minutes with me via FaceTime to diagnose the problem, assist me with repairing a valve and priming a pump. He was sympathetic to my time critical situation, and he genuinely wanted to be helpful. He would not accept any money despite my insistence. You just don't see this type of authentic integrity anymore. The FaceTime instruction was extremely educational and his thorough step-by-step guidance was spot on. He was very patient with me. In late March 2024 we contracted with Fowler's to service our pool, spa and water feature. We…read morechose them because they had a very high rating on Yelp. During the initial months, their service was outstanding. At their recommendation we had them replace multiple components to our system. Their initial performance resulted in me writing a five star review on Yelp. In the past year, their service for us had deteriorated significantly. I contacted management multiple times regarding various issues. I complained when they replaced a very competent service technician with an individual who was marginal at best. After several months, he was replaced by another individual who was only minimally better. During the early months of our contract, Fowler's agreed to clean our water feature filter two times per month at no charge. Recently we noticed a reduction in the flow from the waterfall for our water feature and asked the technician to clean the filter. He replied "I'll do it next week". Several days later the water flow stopped altogether. This resulted in another call to management who subsequently informed me that the two times per month cleaning of the filter had not been done for the past five months. He then told me that they were no longer honoring their previous commitment and would only clean the filter every four months with a cost to us of more than $200. If additional cleanings were needed, we would be charged an additional fee. At that point, I decided to look for other vendors. The two that I interviewed both said that the water feature was full of algae. This was without any prompting by us. I contracted with a new vendor who cleaned the water feature filter and removed the algae. The time to clean the filter was seven minutes. To jeprodize a very lucrative contract for a seven minute task makes me question Fowler's business expertise. In retrospect, after spending over $13,000 with Fowler's in less than two years, I realize that they were not the company for us. I gave them more chances than most and they failed to perform to my expectations. I now know why they have recently received poor Yelp ratings from other individuals. What's most upsetting is they don't take responsibility - they blame everything except themselves and their product/install. Usually a company that is proud of their work would make sure the problem is fixed the first time it breaks, but nope, this "brand new product" keeps breaking and they are utterly shameless each time they come out and never say sorry, but just start blaming other things. If they want to fix this, take your product back and give me my money back. Just like your product/install, the trust is not fixable.

DJ initially kept me updated with this backordered part. Three weeks later DJ texted me saying the part would be in on Wednesday and he would be out to finish the repair on Saturday. I never heard from DJ again, completely ghosted me. I called another spa service and they came out the next day (a Thursday), diagnosed the leak (DJ's diagnosis was WRONG) and returned the following Monday and completed the repair. Would have done it on initial diagnosis, but had to get part from shop. For 3 weeks, I had a spa that was partially torn apart (I allowed this because DJ was going to return to complete repair in one week) and then wasn't even given the courtesy of telling me what was going on. I stayed home all day on the Saturday, but DJ never showed, called, or sent me a text. What I find weird is that all of our correspondence was cordial, so I'm not sure why I was just ghosted. That said, I would avoid doing business with this person.

No notice before showing up (even though we have a people-reactive dog and told them in advance to warn us). The tech backwashed directly into our yard, ignoring the clean-out 15 feet away, then tossed in only 3 chlorine tabs. That's it. When I called, I got a lukewarm apology and was told the same level of service we used to get would now cost double. They didn't address the algae issue we already had, so I ended up doing it myself. I cancelled after one week. Then came the multiple payment demands for that single week, before the invoice was even due. Not local (based in Flagstaff), overpriced, and unprofessional. Would not recommend.
