They arrived on time both dates and did a great job of moving all of my furniture up and back again. They were efficient and knowledgable and treated my furniture and my house with care. Amazing experience. It literally took around $750 for studio move to the storage! My furniture is destroyed. I had to keep my stuff to them, when we agreed to meet at the storage at 8 am. When I call 8:05, they just say it will won't happen. I expected at least an apology instead they yell at people with deal with it attitude. Talking is of no use since your stuff is a hostage. I stopped talking since they do not listen. Even with a climax! I have a missing item (which even have a picture before the moving). What they say to me is that I am a liar, and go to the police. NOT WORTH THE STRESS! I recently contracted Aaron Bros moving company to assist me with moving last Sunday, April 29, 2018. When I initially contacted Aaron Bros, I explained some reservations I had regarding negative reviews I saw online. The customer service rep I spoke with assured me that I would have nothing to worry about, and offered to add their best supervisor Sutan. I also stressed the importance of having an an early move time to avoid traffic (a few reviews said they were extremely late or had to reschedule the day of). Again, I was assured by the service rep the'd be on time, and even listed the move time 8:30am on my quote. Fast forward to the morning of my move, I received a call 7:45 am informing me of a problem with the truck that was supposed to be used during my move. I was asked about the items I needed to be moved to see if they would fit into a smaller truck. The guy I spoke with determined that all my items would fit and again assured me everything would be OK. I was also informed that the movers would be late due to them working so late the night before. I get things happen, but like I explained in the beginning, it was VERY important to have an early move. Luckily they were only 30 minutes late, the move started at 9:00 am. My move team was Stephen, Anderson, and Huddleston not Sutan as originally promised. Despite the movers being 30 minutes late and not having who I was promised, things seemed to be going pretty smooth (or at least I thought). That is, until it was time to close the truck. I don't know if it was how they packed the truck or if the truck was in fact too small form my things. It took at least 15-25 minutes for the three of them to cram, push, and smash my sofa and things onto the truck to get the door to properly close. At one point, they wanted to try and drive the truck with the door partially closed, stating that "it shouldn't open". Finally got the truck door properly closed and secured; drive time was good we just barely beat traffic. The move in to my new place seemed ok, we finished at exactly 4 hours (took another 20 min to open the truck). So here's why I gave one star: It's May 6, 2018 and I'm missing two (2) of my sofa legs. The movers took the legs off during the move and NEVER put them back on, I later found out they were left on the truck. I've called Aaron Bros several times in the last week asking about the sofa legs! THIS COMPANY HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! They do not follow through. I was told that I the sofa legs would be delivered to me on two separate occasions (never happened). Yesterday May 5th I called to make sure I would receive my legs, the guy I spoke with said they were out on jobs but would deliver the sofa legs for sure. The only thing I said was "ok, can you call before you come?" It's May 6, 2018 4:17 pm and I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY SOFA LEGS! I called around 2:33 pm and was told that since I asked to be called before they came, this is why I haven't received my sofa legs. They thought I wouldn't be home. Total BS! On top of this, the guy nonchalantly says "well we will contact you Monday to schedule a time for you to pick u your sofa legs". Why do I have to chase this company down for my things that they forgot to deliver? All I want is communication. I'll follow up once I receive my sofa legs. I'm really regretting using this company and should have gone with my first mind after seeing the reviews. Lesson Learned. read more

I visited Aaron Bros' Auburn/Gresham location for self storage. The facility is really clean and well ventilated, huge space! They have several options for storage lockers. I was concerned about fire safety. They have automatic doors that shut down if there is a fire. Nice steady metal lockers. The office staff is really helpful. I have not used them as movers though. But I was fascinated to find out that this locally owned family business has been a partner with the Chicago Food Depository: they drive around the city and collect food from pick up locations. I love it when local businesses get involved in the community. I would definitely recommend their storage location at Auburn/Gresham, and I know they have few others too. read more

We used this company for our move over the weekend. Katie helped me make my reservation. The 3 movers actually showed up 1 hour early. I called the company and explained the situation (I could not use the loading dock at my new building until a specific time). He was very professional over the phone and verified my correct start time. He said that it was a mistake and he would not charge me for the extra hour. I was happy with the movers. They were polite, focused, and neat. They wrapped all of my furniture and nothing was damaged. When they arrived at the new place- they unwrapped everything and set up my dining table and sectional. He literally built my bed frame in under 20 minutes. All the garbage was removed and they did a good job. We were very pleased. I would use this company again. Next time, when they call to confirm the move (24-48hours prior), I would just make sure to verify the start time. I hate moving and this was probably the quickest/most efficient and painless move I've ever had to go through. Thank you! read more

Depending on which set of movers you get, depends on the service. The first time I used these movers they were polite & seem professional. Two years later I needed to use them again & they sent me the Goof Throop. It ended with me having the frame in my dresser draw cracked, now I can't close the drawers all the way. They busted one of my flat screen TV's because they didn't bubble wrap it which I paid for & broke wall picture not to mention they complained most of the time they were working. I wasn't given the right size truck that I order. When I called their claims adjuster & he came out he was just rude & disrespectful. This is the most unprofessional 'company' I have ever moved with. EVER. Totally unprofessional and inexperienced movers. You would do better just recruiting a few young guys off the street to move your things. I tried to just get over it and not leave a bad review, but now that I was just hung up on by a member of their nonprofessional staff, I will share my experience. I caught the boys they hired to move move my things literally opening up my things and going through my personal items. I was so enraged that I had to call the owner in the middle of the move to come actually direct his staff. They were more concerned with trying to figure out what I did for a living and my life than packing my things. I later discovered they had taken a break and gone to get food from a nearby store. Keep in mind I was paying by the hour! The move was supposed to take 4 hours. It literally took all day and I HAD TO HELP. I had to actually verbally get them to move because they kept stopping and being social and arguing with the older mover. I asked them to pack my things in the storage with certain boxes that I would need in the front. They didn't. Instead, one of the movers was soliciting me for individual work. Now I will have to hire other movers to re-pack the storage. It was important for me to find a minority-owned business to patronize but PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE. Moving is stressful enough. I saw them in Google adwords / pay per click on top of "movers in Chicago" search. I trusted Google, but was very disappointed to learn about Aaron's Brothers' poor service. Movers were late (not a big deal as I expected them to be). But the quality of job was very poor. There were 3 movers, and it seemed that 1 one of them did most of the work. They were slow, and did not take good care of how my goods were moved. I've moved 6 times in 12 years, thus I have a reasonable understanding of a good move. I have been waiting for my shelves to be made and sent to me for over 6 months now! The moving company lost our shelves during our move...in July. We moved in JULY! Our shelves were finally supposed to be delivered to us last week between 9am-12pm by the moving company, so I waited at home all morning. Finally, my boyfriend called to inquire where our shelves were and no one in the company knew what was going on because the manager was not there. When he did get in touch with the manager, he was told that they didn't have time to make it to our apartment today! Obviously, my boyfriend was angry and asked why they didn't AT LEAST call us to notify us so I didn't have to waste my entire morning sitting around and waiting. The manager was completely unapologetic and even rude! He even hung up on my boyfriend. I highly recommend going elsewhere for your moving needs. Vincent, the owner of this business is a crook and will cheat you if you use this moving service. First of all, the contract and pricing I agreed to was for 3 movers. I was moving out of a high rise and assumed there was a third mover downstairs with the truck. There wasn't. I didn't figure out there were only 2 movers until I got to my destination apartment and waited for 1.5 hours even though this was only 3 miles from my first apartment. At this point I was already at the quoted time estimate and the move was only halfway done. I called several times to see where the movers were and Vincent made excuses but never once mentioned that he had short staffed me. When the truck finally arrived and I saw there were only 2 movers I called the owner who only then conceded that he had attempted to cheat me. This man is a liar and a cheat. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE ROBBED!!!!!!!!!!!! My roommate used this company and they moved her stuff into our house. Shortly thereafter, I realized they had stolen my brand new $350 watch with extreme sentimental value, even were so thorough as to make sure they took the extra links I had at the bottom of the box. I quickly notified the company and was met with skepticism and disrespect. I spoke with the owner and he told me he would talk with the specific movers and get back to me Monday (This was Friday). I never received a phone call and have made it a point to call every day for the past week and a half. Every time I have called, I have been told the boss is out and will call me back or I can call at 7am the next day. Even calling at 7am the next day, I am told he's out, no one can call him, no one can find him, no one knows his schedule etc etc. Every day, I am told in a condescending tone that my message will be passed along and I will be called back, but never am. Pretty much HUGE lack of respect for customers and zero professionalism. I would NEVER recommend this company for anyone unless you want your privacy invaded and valuables stolen. On a side note, my roommate was the one using the service and she was grossly overcharged--- the company went to the wrong address and they charge you for time AND mileage, so she got ripped off. Please read this before you consider Aaron Bros!!!!!! This company is a complete joke and I would never EVER recommend them to anyone. The day before the move they called to cancel because they double booked for my time slot. I told them that was their fault and I had a very strict time slot to get in my new condo and that I already took off work. After 30 minutes of debate back and forth they agreed to move me at 9am the next morning. Well, They never showed up at 9.....not at 10...... but 10:30!!! Eventually I got a call from the movers themselves and they called to say they arrived, however they did not. They showed up at the wrong location. Eventually they showed up...... In a U-HAUL!!! WTF is that about? Very unprofessional in my eyes. At the end of the move we noticed that our stuff was damaged and we complained to the General Manager. He acted as if he could care less. Never once apologized for the damage, the tardiness, or unprofessionalism of his company. His advice to us was to " let his guys take our furniture back to his warehouse and he would get them fixed". This is insane, no reimbursement? No on-site repairs? We were told that our stuff could be in his warehouse for longer than a month. After all was said and done... They made sure to charge us an extra $8 for the box they let us use!! Don't be deceived by the previous posts stating that they do an excellent job, that is probably workers of the company themselves writing the reviews. It really is true that you get what you pay for. Our move with Aaron Bros. was painful, long, unprofessional, and very expensive. I should have known something was amiss at the start. A month before our move, I called four times to get my quote in writing and each time was promised "it would be faxed by the end of the day." Nothing ever came. When I tried to line up a different mover the week before our move, I was out of luck and had to go with Aaron Bros. They packed slowly and poorly. Somehow they "lost" a bookcase. My kid's bed was marred, scratched, and gouged. Don't count on them covering anything if they break something. Vince will insist that he fix it himself. In the end, our bill was huge. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVED this moving company - first of all, I called and spoke with "Maria" at last minute and she was so nice and accommodating - they were "johnny on the spot!!" They are the nicest people that I have ever done business with - the two guys, one was named "Manny" and I am sorry, I forget the other guy's name, but they are the nicest guys ever (very cute also!!). They moved my daughter from Taylor Street back to the south side suburbs, and they made it look so easy, but I know it wasn't, especially in that heat, but they did it with such ease. They are awesome people. It was July 31 (Sunday) and it was HOT, 90 plus, and these guys worked so hard - clothes just soaked! I just couldn't believe this stressful of a day for me and my daughter could pan out so smoothly - they know their stuff and are so pleasant when I would be crabby and miserable in the heat moving all that heavy furniture - oh, and the best part about Aaron Brothers is the price - soooooo reasonable for all they do for you. I just couldn't believe it! I would definitely call them again, no matter from where I was moving to and/or from. It is so hard these days to get HONEST, HARD WORKING PEOPLE like this company, but I cannot say enough good things about them. I am highly impressed I will refer them to anyone I talk to that is moving - they will not steer you wrong and are a pleasure to encounter. This is my first review and I have to give them one star. I always want to support black owned businesses but do not support Aaron Brothers. First my mom was suppose to be 8:30am 7/6/2018. I get a call on 7/5 around 2p stating they would be pushed back the next day due to the rain. It onlt rained for about 1.5 hrs so I was confused but I let it go. I told him to make sure to CALL me when they were on their way. The day of the move I received NO call saying they were on their way, but a call saying they were in front of my home at 11:45am I had no idea they were even coming and had ran to my apartments office. They ended up starting my time at 1145 and I wasn't even there. Yet, there is more. I was also told I would have a team of his "best" people. He sent me one guy with a "broken" shoulder, another who had just been shot 4 times and this old guy. SMH. They took their precious time moving a small one bedroom. I didn't even have that much stuff because I got rid of my bed and a big dresser. They keep dragging. I also had to ask numerous time was everything taken. I decided to do one last check as the truck was leaving and found out they left 2 things in my kitchen. So they had to go back and get them.....There's more.....we get to my other apartment that is literally .5 miles away and they are still dragging. My move ended up being 2.75 r with a total of $390.......I was like whatever FINE.....They they had the nerve to keep asking for tips etc SMH Now I tip everyone but they did a piss poor job and I was charge for $400. Used Arron Bros May 4, 2013. They accidently put a hole in a bi-fold door with a couch leg while moving the couch out. Talked with Vince the person that runs the office, I wanted to put a hold on my credit card. He was going to patch the hole and I told him that was not acceptable, he said if it was $100 he would have no problem paying me. He told me that if I put a hold on the credit card the men who did the work wouldn't get paid. He gave me his word that he would pay. I really wanted the men to get paid they worked very hard and accidents happen, that's why you have insurance (obviously they don't). I have called every week to collect the $75.00 and all I get is lip service. He has no intentions of paying me. Unfortunately he ruined it for the next person I will always take measures to ensure reimbursement in the future. His word was a lie and he is a liar. Aaron Bros was very professional when I initially called to set up the move. On the day of the move they called to let me know when they were on the way. The movers arrived early and worked quickly to complete the move. It was extremely difficult to get my couch in my new place but the movers worked very hard and got it in. I will start out by saying that I mistakenly contacted this company. I thought I was calling a company that I used before. I was persuaded by Derek to hear him out about the company. Midway through the conversation I was interested in giving them a try. I checked reviews and called the next day to schedule. On moving day the movers were on time. There were 3 young guys, to my surprise, they were fast moving and and gentle with my things. I even called the company in the middle of the move to let them know the movers were doing a great job. Now let's fast forward...... The move went 25 minutes over the time that had been paid for. The supervisor or whatever Vince is, called to inform me that I owed an additional 27.00. I stated that me being a new customer and having paid over 600.00 was it necessary to charge me the additional money. He informed me that this was what it was.. But honestly, he called the movers so many times during the move, I think the 27.00 should have been paid by him. He was really hounding them about every extra minute they were there. So needless to say, they really started rushing. They forgot to do a few minor things but to no fault of the movers. The guys were great. I wish I remembered their names. They Rock!!!! Why can't we use negative stars for bad businesses. This is not about bad customer service this is about seriously ethically challenged business practices. Not to mention foolish. After renting a storage unit for only 6 months, they raised the rent on my unit by 27%. I repeat: a TWENTY-SEVEN PERCENT raise in rent after leasing for only 6 months. I paid the first three months in advance and then paid the subsequent following 4 months in advance as well but started receiving monthly invoices anyway. When I went into the office to discuss what I assumed was a computer automation problem I was received with arrogance, hostility and condescension. The manager repeatedly interrupted me, would not allow me to ask questions or share my point of view or even point out that I had paid in advance! I am moving my stuff out of that place, and I would encourage anyone thinking about renting from them to look elsewhere. read more

How do you lose a 36 inch flat screen TV???!!! or do you steal it or break it??? Well you will never get an explanation, apology or a settlement from Vince! He may not even return your calls! After reading the other similar reviews above I am surprised that this company is still in business!!! Surprised one or more of them are not in jail.... DO NOT USE THEM!!! I wish that I give NO stars at all just to write this review. Use them at your own risk of them breaking and stealing from you. They are not a professional moving company. They have big boxes on what looks like skateboard wheels to move you from one place to another. They don't even have dolly's or anything else that a professional moving company has to move people. I called to speak their general manager his name is Vincent Hardy I was given some man who called himself his assistant when I asked him who he was and his title. I told him what happened to me with them moving me breaking my things, putting holes in my furniture. He the assistant acted like he could not understand what I was saying. I was speaking complete english to him. He had to have me say it again what I was saying so that he could write it down. If you can't understand what a person is saying when they are complaining about your company you don't need to work there, you are slowing me down in the process of getting things done. Then I was told by the assistant to send pictures of the damage. I will along with the police report and the lawsuit. What kind of people do they have working for them?. They get NO stars from me. I moved over the Memorial day weekend with Aaron Brothers, after they arrived 1hr 45 mins late, because their truck malfunctioned and they needed to rent another. After arriving at my new residential highrise, I had to negotiate with the managment office to be put into another time slot for the elevator....which took about 45minutes, as well as obtaining the keys. The whole move came to about 4 hours (approx $500). I felt since the reason unloading took so long was due to my having to meet with building managment, which was due to Aaron Bros. lateness, I should at least be discounted an hour. Vince, the owner was rude, beligerient and very unprofessional in his tone and shouting with me when I voiced my discontent. He told me he had "done me a favor by renting a truck to keep his committment to move me, and had provided me with a professional move, whether they were late or not..it still took the time it would have taken". He didn't understand that unloading took longer due to my arriving later. He instructed the movers to keep the remainder of my belongings on the truck and close it up until I paid the full amount. I have never encounterd such a rude and ignorant man in business ever. I reminded him that they were also late when they moved me last year and only discounted me the travel charge ($55), which was all he offered this trip....I will NEVER, EVER use this company again...although,their rates are great, but not worth the hassle and rudeness of the ower. The movers were great and very accomodating, but Vince is a jerk. Maybe when the time comes, I can forget about Vince and remember how great the movers were and their committment to what they do......... read more

I was scheduled for a move on March 29th. I was initially quoted $385 for a 3hour move with 3 guys. The day of the move I was contacted to see if I wanted 4 guys instead to minimize the time since I was being billed by the hour. I agreed to the 4th guy, trying to minimize the expense. The guys showed up in a truck and I began showing them what would be moved and not moved. The device was left on a dresser and I was going to just simply put it in my purse. Immediately after walking away and letting the guys determine where to start I went to get the tablet. It was no where to be found. I spent the next hour searching through bags and boxes, even looking through some of the stuff they had already loaded on the truck and no one said anything. I asked two of the guys if they saw anything and the both said no. I mentioned to one of my kids as soon as I had the opportunity to get online I was going to track the device and if anyone had it I would be pressing charges. Right when they were just about finished loading the truck, John the guy who had me sign the paperwork pulled me aside and asked was I looking for a tablet. I said yes and he told me that one of the other guys either named LeShaun or DeShaun took it and hid it in the truck. John returned the tablet to me in full view of Shaun and he just held his head down. I called the company several times but only got the voicemail as it was a Sunday. I left a message regarding the incident because at that point I did not want to pay for 4 guys since one was a thief. The final cost was twice the amount quoted and they took nearly 5 hours to do the job. I didn't get a response that day from anyone with the company. I paid John and signed off on the paperwork because they did complete the job but the guy who stole the tablet was not allowed to come back into my home so I felt I shouldn't have to pay for his time. I contacted the company on Monday, March 30th and spoke with Vince who said he would get the guys story and follow up with me. I never heard back from him. I called again on Tuesday, March 31st and spoke with Vince again and he stated that the guys told him that it was packed away on the truck and they just found it for me. He also stated that they were sticking to their story and he was not going to issue a refund for the 4th guy. I am writing this complaint simply as a warning to anyone looking for a reputable moving company; this is not a good company they are employing crooks and they still expect you to pay for shoddy service (they also broke a leg off of a dresser). I called about ten days early to arrange for movers to unload our small UHaul. I received a nice professional phone call several days before to confirm the date and time (11am). There was no one there to meet us at the agreed upon time. We had reserved the one and only loading dock at our high-rise. We had also reserved one of only three elevators in our building. at 11:30 I called to confirm that they were coming. The man I spoke with said they were running late but would be there "soon". I waited 45 min and phoned again. Same answer. I waited/made about four more calls and got the same answer each time: "soon". The three guys who eventually showed up were fantastic, they were just 4 hours late! I HIGHLY doubt it was their fault. I firmly believe it was the fault of the dispatcher in charge on that day. He was unpleasant to speak with and he lied to me time and time again. Decent price. Great movers, but a terrible dispatcher. There's no way I would use Aaron Bros again. No thank you.
