I purposely downloaded Yelp just to make this review.
Stay. Away. From. This. Company.
Aaron Bros canceled my reservation the day before my move without ever talking to me or emailing me. The only reason I found out was because I e-mailed them to make sure everything was good to go the day before my scheduled move and quickly found out that no, everything was not good to go.
One person stated they called my cell phone multiple times before they finally got a hold of a woman who said moving services were no longer needed, so they canceled my reservation. I'm not a woman and there's this nifty thing called 'call history' that shows all incoming and outgoing calls. I verified my cell number with them. Aaron Bros *never* called me.
A second person I talked to said that a woman called Aaron Bros on my behalf and canceled over the phone (Wait.. so now I'm being told that someone called Aaron Bros on my behalf?!).. I was adamant that nobody would've canceled and that this had to be a mistake. The guy I talked to suggested it maybe could've been a 'spurned ex girlfriend' (because that's super professional). Either way, I've gotten two different stories - both of which are blatantly false. Besides, I've been single and on Tinder for years and don't even have an ex-girlfriend to spurn. Even if someone did call on my behalf, present themselves as me, and managed to somehow verify alllllll my moving details in order to cancel, you would think any reputable moving company would send an e-mail confirming the cancellation so there's a paper trail to cover themselves, but not Aaron Bros! And of course the guy I spoke to couldn't give me the name of this mysterious woman who (supposedly) called in to cancel my reservation. Think about how idiotic and literally unbelievable that sounds - 'Yep, we're showing that some woman called in to cancel your move, but uh, we don't know who it was.'
As a result of their incompetence, I was left scrambling to find another moving company the day before I needed to move on the last day of July, which is undoubtedly one of the busiest moving days of the year. From the bottom of my grateful heart, thank you Aaron Bros!
Also, I'm sorta sorry for saying bad words in the e-mail I sent you guys, because that wasn't cool. But you know what else isn't cool? Thinking you have all your ducks in a row for a smooth move before realizing you're dealing with a pretty terrible moving company.
So that's my experience. Hopefully yours is better. And you know what? It probably will be.. if you steer clear of Aaron Bros and go with any of the other moving companies in the area, such as:
2 Guys And a Van - (312) 857-4897
Sam's Moving and Delivery - (847) 278-2260
Windy City Movers - (773) 275-4100
Coffey Bros Moving - (773) 628-7798
New City Moving - (773) 489-0600
Or really any random company off Craigslist.
Or if you're really in a pinch (let's say your reservation was suddenly canceled.. lol), I'd highly recommend the Dolly app. It was literally half the price of what I was quoted from Aaron Bros before, you know, they inexplicably canceled my reservation.
(Side note: I waited a few days before posting this review, just to see if Aaron Bros would be like, 'Dude. We're sorry. Clearly there was a miscommunication somewhere along the line and we dropped the ball on this.' But nope. Based on how their social media team has responded to other complaints on their Facebook page, I'm sure we can all look forward to their canned response).
Unfortunately, zero stars isn't an option on Yelp, so I give Aaron Bros one star. Which I guess is the equivalent of a participation trophy. read more
