I contacted Alexander Movers after my original Movers didn't show up they were referred to my by a friend that had used them previously. I was moving from Gary IN to Chicago IL I felt the price was a little high but at that point I really didn't have much of a choice so I booked with them. They show up to my old home we did a walk through and I pointed out everything that needed to be moved. I'm working under a time crunch due to only being given a 3 hour window before I am charged even MORE money. So they start moving remember I'm there for questions concerns whatever is needed. We fet all loaded their truck my car when I overhear the guy in the truck say to the other guys yall moving kinda fast slow down. I'm not happy about that sounds like ya trying to get more money outta me. Next I'm told we will follow you we can't drive fast OH and if we get caught in traffic it's still apart of my 3 hour window. Now I'm thinking and I asked when did I make traffic happen how is that my fault? The respwell its not our fault either, ok lets go!!!! So we finally get to my new home they are moving things in its getting dark outside and they are getting careless just how careless I had no idea until days after. So let's go over a list of broken/damaged items I started to find and just stuff that was not handled with care or done according to their contract: 1. Broke the leg off my TV stand 2. There are 2 gashes in my dining room table 3. They didn't put my bed back together AND when I did days later they lost pieces to my bed 4. They took my hallway light fixture down and left it outside 5. They took my back screen door apart and also left the parts outside 6. I had a outside storage shed and they left it in front of my garage door not leaving me room to even get in the garage 7. They took the mirror off my dresser and lost screws and yet again didn't put it back together 8. They broke another TV stand that's also a fireplace- it has shelves but they lost the little pegs that hold the shelves up so now it has NO shelves and I pray it doesn't fall cause they didn't put the center legs under it before they put my 55" TV on it. I am so NOT happy with this company and will NEVER use them again. Unfortunately I never called about this and I'm sure I'll never hear from them about this matter but people beware this was and still is a horrific experience for me and I'm sure as I continue to unpack set things up I'll find more that wasn't handled with care or broken. Lastly let me add they did tell me they broke the legs off my 1 TV stand and begged me not to tell cause the money would come out of their pay me not knowing the extent of ALL the damage they had really caused agreed. But after I keep finding things I need to at least leave a review for others. read more

Alexander Movers are absolutely terrible. We had a 4 man crew for a local move. The "movers" were extremely slow and careless. Many items were broken. They are not real movers. Just random guys with a truck. One guy appeared to be intoxicated or under the influence of something. It took 3 hours just to load up the truck. Inefficiently done. A 3 bedroom apt with about 2 bedrooms worth of stuff. It should not have taken 5+ hours for an apt move. One guy who stayed on the truck was taking a break, sitting on my sofa, talking on his phone instead of loading the truck. When I commented on it he became belligerent and continued to talk on the phone, moving items with one hand. No effort, no hustle. A complete waste of time. If I didn't help we would still be loading the truck. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. Trust me you will regret it. Also the moving truck has a hole in the top of it, so if it rains your items will be wet! They only accept cash which they demand every two hours. Seriously these other 5 star ratings cannot be real. These people are NOT PROFESSIONAL MOVERS. No real movers that are hired to do a move will gripe about the scope of work. They had no dolly's or other equipment. Wardrobe boxes or anything to help with the move. It shouldn't take 5+ hours to move literally 8 blocks. read more

I'm so sorry for this late review but I used this company to complete moves on September 2020 and August 2021. I was very satisfied with their service - especially during the 2020 move. Lamar led his very experienced team and they worked fast and hard to complete the job. The 2021 team was also lead by Lamar who was able to direct his team as needed. Unfortunately this team was mainly teenagers and not so experienced but followed directions from Lamar. The team consisted of Cordell, Curtis, Tee and Garrett. I hired Alexander Movers for a recent move. I rated them 3 because a personality and miscommunication between one or two of the moving staff. While I felt the service was mostly acceptable I encountered an unexpected resistance to my need for organization. I partially felt someone was upset that I was orderly. Overall, I sensed it took them a little longer to move me out, but I factor in the elevator trips in a high rise so I won't hold that against them. What I didn't appreciate was the one mover raised his voice when I asserted my authority as the person hiring him for the service. I didn't raise my voice to assert my needs.. I sensed a passive aggressive hostility towards me that wasn't warranted. Based upon this experience, I cannot say I would use the service again. I have used the company in the past, but I can't say if I would again. Considering COVID and many other underlying issues I didn't hold anger against him. But I have to submit my review as I was requested by the "ghost" mover. I was dealing with a lot myself and didn't know the true point of the one movers' contention. I received several calls leading up to the move. I got mixed messages about what how I could pay for the transaction. I've never had someone request to be paid before the services were complete. It appeared to me at times, a game was being played with me. I received several calls from a lady to confirm how I was going to pay. I had already paid the deposit when I booked the reservation. No one told me on the phone when I booked if I paid cash, it had to paid upfront. Because of the timing issue and I couldn't be in two places at one time, I gave the cash to the people receiving the movers with my possessions in the new place. I booked this move two weeks in advance, I received several calls from a mover wanting to know the inventory of items. He called several times. I asked him if I could email him the contents, he said it wasn't necessary. I thought it was but didn't press the issue. This mover indicated a date and time other than the original booking. I reiterated the booking I made. He made a comment to indicate as if he knew something about me that I didn't tell him. A personal affiliation. If i could give this foul company less than 1 star i would. Words to describe them start with ghetto, tacky, unprofessional and loathsome. The scope of my move was to start at my storage locker in Dolton, IL, then to my condo in South Shore and finally to my new place also in South Shore. On the day of the move I was given a two hour window for their arrival from 2-4pm. They finally showed ip ay 5:16pm with no apology nor explanation as to the delays. Neither did they ever even call me to give an eta, all calls were from me to the office inquiring about when. They show up and immediately the bitching, complaining and griping starting concerning the items in the storage unit and how they were packed. I constantly assured them that not everything was going and only focus on the large items. I paid for 3 hours and 4 men which I got but the lead guy was a total ass as he did most of the complaining. Finally they loaded my belongings and we headed to my condo for part two. More bitching, moaning and complaining from the lead guy who now informs me that the move would take more than 3 hours and overtime had to be CASH ONLY AS THEY CAN'T ACCEPT CREDIT OR DEBIT CARDS AFTER BUSINESS HOURS NOR ON WEEKENDS. This was never relayed to me during the booking process. After considerable time removing my belongings from the condo we proceed to my final destination. Also, a couple of the young guys were constantly trying to flirt with my friend's daughter while on the job, asking her personal questions. This could have been taken as a form of harassment. We arrive at the apartment in the rear as to use the back stairs to make it easier. The movers then REFUSED to carry any of my belonging up the stairs as they deemed them "unsafe." I even had the property owner give them the assurance that using either the front or rear stairs was fine but thet refused. After a lot of back and forth it was obvious that they were going to hold my belongings hostage. I was given the option for them to hold my things in the truck overnight for an additional $50 and try to find another storage unit first thing in the morning. I had no choice but to agree. Also for them to deliver my belongings to the new storage facility would cost an additional $485 CASH ONLY. My son who was instrumental in assisting me due to a recent surgery overheard a few of the workers complaining about how tired they were and how late it was did not want furniture up 3 flights of stairs. All in all Alexander Movers scammed me out of close to $1,000. As I said before if I could give them minus zero stars I would. Absolutely Horrible business. read more

My husband and I hired Alexander Movers for a small move on February 29th after being referred to them by a friend who claimed to have used them several times without issue. We needed to move furniture ONLY 3 bedrooms, living room, and dining room furniture nothing major. We also took down both beds with the exception of 1 because it requires more than 1 person to take down the bed and I couldn't help my husband with that. We hired 4 guys (so that things could roll as quickly as possible as we had an event scheduled for later that day) and paid for 3hrs. We were told initially that they would arrive between 9:00am-11:00am, we called multiple times and were told that they were on another move, we finally got in touch with someone from the office and was advised that we were given the incorrect time and that they would arrive by 4:00pm. They arrived to my house around 3:45pm my husband completed a payment and signed an estimate of charges form and they began moving our things. It took 4 people almost 2 and a half hours to move less than 15 pieces furniture that had already been broken down for efficiency and convenience. They complained of being tired from moving all day and was happy that this was their last move for the night. 1 of the guys that was there to assist with the move disappeared for what seemed to be an hour, and the other guy that was there was an older gentleman who basically gave orders and helped take down the 1 bed that I mentioned above. They were supposed to wrap our furniture so that there were no damages sadly, they did not wrap some of the furniture, and the furniture that they did wrap was not done properly resulting in damages. When we got to our destination conveniently our time had run out and they had an instant boost of energy moving the same pieces of furniture that took 2 and a half hours to move out of the old house, into the new house in less than 20 minutes. The guy who acted as a supervisor told us they would not be setting up our furniture (which we paid for) or moving it to the appropriate area's of the house unless we paid for more time. Paying for more time was out of the question because we paid for ample amount of time given the amount of furniture that we had. My husband signed a carbon copy of a form and they left. I called the owner to explain all that happened the conversation got very heated after the owner rudely told my husband and I we were making "lot of noise" by voicing our complaint. We agreed to disagree and ended the call. I inspected my furniture and noticed damages and I made a note to call the owner that following Monday. I called him and explained my damages and he promised to send a mitigator by the name of Dwayne to my property by the end of the week. That never happened so I reached out to my attorney to have her contact the owner. The owner sent her several documents (that we've never seen before) with my husbands signature that of course protects his company. I have never seen the original copy's of these documents and my husbands only recalls signing 3 documents but he furnished 7 to my attorney, I would love to see the original copies of the documents but I'm sure they will never surface. This move was nothing short of a nightmare, We were left with damaged furniture, paid for services that were not received, and then hit with these mystery documents that takes the liability from the moving company and places it on the customer. This was a lesson learned for us , had I took the time out to read the reviews about this company that were left by other customers having some of the same experiences I would have never hired them. This was the worse moving experience EVER!!. First: I scheduled an appointment with the owner because the scheduler was out. The owner confirmed my date, but I later learn that the owner made a scheduling error but I ended up being inconvenienced after they had taking my money for a Sunday mover versus a Tuesday move. Second: My time slot was 1pm-3pm. The movers showed up over an hour late without any notification of an ETA. The job was for a 5 man crew but the driver never got out of the vehicle to help. Then the movers sat around to eat/socialize/and spent time on their phones. Third: The movers never did a walk through or inventory, just shoving paperwork in your face and put two different address on the form resulting in them going to the destination add more wasted time. Fourth: More that 50% of my items were damaged - forced the freezer door off because they did not have the proper tools, dropped my refrigerator on concrete causing damage to the internal compartment along with missing door screws, broken living room marble table top of a set of 3, broken curio glass, broken electric recliner chair & power source, scratched up china cabinet, broken tall 6 drawer chest frame molding, and a scratched up dress with missing mirror screws. There is other damage but I think this makes my point. Oh and get this, the movers were tired so they just left and whatever was not done did not get done. I filed a claim and .... Tick Tock. Bottom line, this was a move from HELL in my opinion, but i have the pictures to prove it! read more

I moved over two weeks ago on June 29th. I had to call Alexander Movers after the original movers I thought I would have fell through. The young lady on the phone was professional and made sure I was well informed. These guys were strong, fast, prompt, professional and extremely courteous. They moved my one bedroom apartment to my home in one hour and 45 minutes. The only down side was since I moved on a Sunday I had to pre-pay for three hours and again they were done in 1.75. If I could give this 0 stars I would!! I hired this company to move me on 3/30/18, the time quoted that they would arrive was 12pm, they were 3 hours late, when they showed up they were unapologetic or emphatic that they've disrupted my entire moving day and other appointments that I had scheduled for that day, but that's not the worst part, they didn't use moving pads for my leather sofa and scraped it along the trim of the door moving it out and ruined it to the point I was in tears because it cannot be repaired (keep in mind these same movers moved me into the same place t 2 years previous and got the same sofa in the same door without damaging it so it wasn't the size of the furniture that caused this, it was clearly incompetence) but anyway, the movers again didn't apologize. I contacted Alexander the following Monday and was told someone would come assess the damages, they did about a week or so later, the gentleman that came out Joe even said they should have used pads admitting guilt on their part, and he said someone would contact me, after waiting several days and not hearing anything I called and spoke with Anthony he said it would be 4-5 days before I heard anything, well after 2 weeks I called again Anthony answered and this time he said he still hadn't decided how he wanted to resolve the situation and technically they have 90 days to reply. Well here it is 5/23 and still nothing, meanwhile my sofa and my dining table that they also scratched is looking like these pics! read more

I wish there was an option to give this moving company no stars. My hope is that the reviews are read before you schedule your move with this company. This was the absolute worse moving experience ever. I'm going to try to keep this review short, but I don't think that I can and I apologize, but I really want perspective customers to understand fully, the issues that I experienced. I scheduled a move with this company to move me from the south suburbs to the loop area. I ordered 4 men and a truck for 3 hours, to expedite the move. I did not have a lot of heavy items, as I had already sold most of my furniture. I did have a bedroom set, mattress and box spring. I had approximately 25 boxes that included home accessories and kitchen items. I had 9 wardrobe boxes and maybe 20 black contractor bags of clothing; and 15 bags with shoes and other personal items. On large plant and four table planters. I had 4 end tables, 2 ottomans, 2 benches, floor lamps and other small household items. I had one electric stove, but no other appliances. I was quoted a price of $494. When the movers arrived, Joe assessed what I had and immediately told me this job would take a minimum of 5 hours. Well, when you send a team of movers who are not physically fit or professional movers, this is exactly what would happen. He would not start the job until I gave him the $494 (less $50 for the initial deposit). He informed me that my plants could not be placed on the truck, which was not discussed with me when I ordered the move. When the truck arrived, Joe stated that he did not have enough furniture blankets and would have to have someone bring some out. Considering that I didn't have very much furniture, my thought was that they arrived to do a job and did not have the necessary supplies and equipment. The movers consisted of Joe, who appeared to be in his 50's, but not a healthy and fit individual. Then there was a middle aged man, who really didn't do much, but was skilled at slowing down the move. Finally, there were two whimpy kids who were not physically fit or professional movers, who appeared to between 18-20 years of age. They each appeared to weigh less than 100 pounds, as they were very thin and frail. They were only able to carry one box at a time, because they needed to have a free hand to pull their pants back up. During the move from the suburbs, Joe remained on the truck. Here is the tip-off to the rip-off:the middle aged man slows down the move by shrink wrapping items with layer, upon lay, upon layer of shrink wrap. He put so much shrink wrap on one of my benches, that the tightness of the wrap, caused one of the legs to break. The young man shrunk wrapped everything he could find. This was a total waste of time, that was intentional to slow down the move. When the movers arrived to the final location, again Joe remained on the truck and I never saw the middle aged young man move anything. The two younger men again, carried one box at a time. This resulted in the move running several hours over the 3 hours. He called his supervisor/owner (Anthony Oliver) several times while onsite at my location to discuss how much time he would go over. He made so many calls that his cell phone battery was dead. The $494 move end of costing $1040. When I informed Joe that I was $157 short, but could give him a check, he threatened to hold my televisions until the cash payment could be made. He refused to take a check and suggested that I go to the ATM. He followed me to the ATM. He was driving so close on my bumper, I was afraid he was trying to hit my car with his truck. He ran several red lights while following me to the ATM. I was treated like a criminal and a theft. I later found out that the only other job they had for the day was cancelled . So, I would say they made up for the day and charged me for the money that was missed. When I called Mr. Oliver and explained my disappointment, his reply was that the movers followed "protocol." They should have had a protocol for collecting funds (credit card payments, Zelle........) for trips that result in an overage, even when the overage was intentional. read more

Alexander Movers were recommended to me by a friend. The staff is friendly and patient. I had to reschedule my appointment and the were very accommodating. Prior to the movers arriving I got a call from Bob and he explained the moving process and his humor took the stress away. Lamar, Dwayne and Theo were my movers. They called when they were on their way which was at the appointed time. They were efficient and completed the move in the allotted time. They moved me and my family in October they was late so decided to call and the head person answered the phone so rude and was like I mean it's traffic out here as if I have a crystal ball and I know this already. Finally they arrive in a beat up tapped up truck... fine let's get going I'm ready! I'm near and organized and I even get praise for that from the movers. As time go on I'm looking at the clock because I don't want to run into overtime I can't afford it .. they left boxes in the kitchen and then when I remind them they get a attitude and say well you didn't say this was coming... fast forward they have a hard time taking down my bed I'm getting nervous because we are cutting it close ... finally they get it apart. We to to my new house they unloaded and at this point I have to call my dad to pay for overtime because I don't have cash and they won't take my credit card they broke my bed and my couch I currently have to buy a new bed and my couch don't recline they are the worse , I think they hire any body and to top it off it no Compensation $267 in overtime to have my stuff broke they broke the bed taking it apart.... lord knows I would never ever use these people again read more

This company was recommended to us by a good friend that had recently used them and was impressed by their service. Upon arrival, the movers were great. We did not have a lot to move, mostly big items. Once we got to our new home, the movers damaged / broke my husbands new treadmill beyond repair. They were very apologetic and gave us all of the information to file a claim. The very next day, my husband spoke to someone from their office that stated they would give us a call later that day or the next date to get all of the information on the treadmill. My husband never heard from them. I then followed up by calling and leaving various messages on the multiple numbers listed on the receipts and invoice, to no avail. I finally got in touch with a young lady who stated that she would have her supervisor give me a call immediately. I never hear from her supervisor. We are left with no other choice but to take legal action and file claims with the Better Business Bureau. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because of the workers. read more

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD! My moving time was scheduled for 8:30-9:30am, therefore I expected them to arrive at 9:30am. Movers arrived at 11:15am. To accommodate me for being late they gave me five movers instead of three. Two hours later they finished packing my items and without notice a minivan shows up. Why you say? It was due to the PENSKE truck Alexander Movers rented for my move needed a jump. Well that did not work. Then a company moving truck showed up to jump the PENSKE truck and that did not work. Finally the company called PENSKE to come out and they had to change the truck battery. We did not arrive at my new home until 4:30pm!!!!!! During this time I was notified of what was going on as I stood outside and the manager of the group stayed in the truck. I also called the company only to find out the person I was speaking to was sitting in the damn van the entire time. SHE COULDN'T GET OUT THE CAR TO ADDRESS MY ISSUE WTF! They finished unloading in the 6 o'clock hour and told me that I owed them $161 for the overage time of three hours, but that I only had to pay $100. I REFUSED! Look at the inconvenience I had to go through and you expect me to come out of pocket for more! Also, I noticed the bar was not screwed back onto my bar stand and Joe said he would come back to fix b/c he left the screws. Two weeks later and he never came! I was forced to pay more than I was quoted. They damaged the property that I was moving out of and I was told that it would be paid for. Unfortunately to this date it still hasn't paid for and the owner is very unprofessional and rude he gave me the run around in regards to him paying for my damages. I moved almost a month ago, on March 31, 2020. I used Alexander Movers, this was my 3rd time using this moving company. The first two times they moved me, I only had totes, but this time I had furniture as well. I moved from a 3rd floor apartment to a 2nd floor apartment, I informed the company that I had appliances, furniture, and totes. Which to me should have been a four man moving crew, but they only sent three workers, and out of the three only two were actually moving. One mover kept complaining that I had a lot of stuff and how heavy some stuff was. That is your job to move people! As the movers was bringing my furniture into the new place, the movers more than once banged items against the walls, causing chunks of paint to chip off, in a freshly painted apartment. I also begin to notice a lot of damage done to my furniture, and while unpacking even more damage. They really did a lot of damage to my refrigerator, which is only two years old (brand new), my stove three years old (brand new), three TV stand, a hole in my computer chair, chipped my bed frame, scratches on my book case and computer desk, walls, and broke my glass dish (which the dish was in a tote marked FRAGILE! GLASS DISHES! PLEASE BE CAREFUL!) The glass dishes was a set of 8 plates, ALL were wrapped in bubble wrap inside the marked tote, and the plate that was at the bottom got broken, so either they dropped the tote or it was smashed in their truck, I'm assuming. After I wrote a review 2 weeks ago,the manager called me asking me to take down the negative review and work with him and give him a chance to resolve this, and that I paid for insurance, so basically, lets work this out. I did give them a chance to rectify this, and I held up to my end of the deal and took down the review, but the manager and the company did not hold up to their word. The only thing this company did was send someone to see and take pictures of the damages. And NOTHING has been done after that, but text messages saying "we have not forgotten about you", well apparently you have! PLEASE DO NOT HIRE Alexander Movers! I had a move scheduled with an 1pm arrival time. They arrived at 7pm!!! I was livid! The entire afternoon/evening all I received were excuses as to why they were delayed with no expected arrival. When they finally arrived several hours later, I informed them that I will not pay the original price quoted given they are seven hours behind schedule. The manager/owner Anthony was extremely rude and told me he could only offer a 5% discount, take it or leave it! Then he proceeded to call his movers and tell them to leave. Don't ever these movers. They came and the two guys did not move me properly. The Supervisor just stood around without working to make the time and payment go up. They broke my bookcase. Threw my stuff I. The truck broke a keepsake. They stole my flat screen TV. I called the owner to get it back and he told me they the supervisor reported it on the truck but they could not find it. I tried to file a police report but the police said it was a civil matter. I could not afford to sue. I spend 250.00 and they tried to say I owed them more. I am a homeowner who had the mis-fortune of having Alexander move a tenant out and another in to my property. The employees damaged a door, facade, stairs and walls. I immediately informed the company about the damage and the owner set up a time to meet at the property and inspect the damage. He never showed up! It has been two years of being dodged and ignored when I asked for, wrote for a resolution or Alexander's Mover's insurance contact information so that I could file a property damage claim. Today, I called the ICC and they immediately gave me the insurance company information for the time of the move. I would expect that this will get resolved, but before you make a move, look at the ICC records of complaints. This can be telling when making a decision. read more

I was referred to this company by a coworker/friend who urged I use this company because it was black owned and operated and that we should support our black owned businesses and my friend also boasted on how great this moving company was and how professional the workers are. I thought to myself I'd give it a try. There was a 3 man team headed by Lamar, then Devin and Garrett. First of all who schedules a move at 2:00 in the afternoon and when the 3 man team arrived, the leader Lamar smelled of weed. When he entered my apartment my entire house was lit with weed. The other 2 were fine. Lamar was trying to be slick, he was very unprofessional, saying things about my fiancé that did not concern him. For instance, "he should be here; he ran off and left". First of all I'm paying his ass to do what needs to be done and he shouldn't have concerned himself about anything but moving my furniture. Had he not been so concerned with the whereabouts of my fiancé he wouldn't have forgotten my stove and table. Once the movers arrived at the destination and upon unloading the moving truck this asshole just dumped my belongings everywhere. So I tell Lamar that my stove and table need to be moved as well. This ass said to me that he would come back the next day and pick up those two items. Because it had gotten dark, and it was late; at this time it was 7:30pm, I agreed that it'd be ok to pick up the two items the next day and because of that agreement I tipped his slick ass $60. So here it is the next day, I called this bitch all day and not once did he pick up. So, I ended up having to call the "man" who by the sound of his voice was Caucasian. He made Lamar's black, slick ass come pick up my 2 items and deliver them to my house. So, the guy that was with Lamar; different guy than the initial 3 man team, get to my house then tell me that there will be a $60 charge and if the funds are not released neither will my furniture be. Of course an argument ensued. I told that mutha-fucka if I give y'all unprofessional ass another dime y'all got me fucked up. I went on to say how about y'all get it out of the tip I gave Lamar's slick ass. Then the man gone say that Lamar told him I had difficulty paying. I went off on they asses again. I said if I had such a difficult time paying then why in the fuck did I tip Lamar. I went on to say that the only difficulty was waiting in the ATM line at Chase for 30 dam minutes, I got money. They released my shit and I will never refer anybody to Alexander's movers and now that I'm a homeowner I won't have to move for a very long time. And had it not been for the boss who is white them fuckers would have tried it. And the only reason why I rated this business 2 stars is because that white man made Lamar get off his black ass and got the rest of my shit. read more

So we used this company this past Saturday, I was in a 3 BR and moving into a house. They were so quick and efficient! They were done loading the truck within an hour and a half! Lamar, Antonio, Marcus and Lamont were fantastic and fast! They even shrink wrapped everything! I have never seen anyone "hump" (as they call it) a dresser on their back like nothing! AMAZING! I will NEVER use this company again! Four guys showed up, only three did any work. They took their time moving my things, which made them run over the quoted time meaning I got charged extra. They scratched up my furniture, BROKE A GLASS PANEL IN MY REFRIGERATOR, and broke a freezer panel. I reported the glass panel being broken and they said they would replace it. I moved in November 2018, it's the end of May 2019! They have yet to replace it. I just keep playing phone tag with them, when I do get somebody on the phone they pretend to take down the information and never get back to me. I'd hate to have to call a lawyer over a $40 glass panel. read more

My wife and I hired 2 workers from Alexander to help us load our truck for a long distance move last week. They were courteous and very hard workers. The supervisor walked into our apartment, saw what we had and instantly came up with a game plan to load the truck and it worked to perfection. Thanks again Terrell and Dearius for all of you help! Lamar, Dwayne and Theo made my move a breeze, they were prompt, courteous, professional and most importantly fast. I used this moving company to move from my apt into my brand new house that I just purchased. I had a great experience. I had a crew of 3 led by Fletch. They were on time, courteous and fast. Nothing was broken. They were very accommodating because my apt building manager had mistakingly schedule 2 moves on the same day. My team was gracious enough to let the other movers use the elevator as they hauled my precious belongings down 3 flights of steps. They never once complained. I also appreciated the owner of the company, Corey, was courteous and helpful with solving the problem with my apt manager. And when I forgot to retrieve some of the screws of my bed that they had broken down to pack, they had them!! I was so happy! I do recommend what someone else had stated to pack your own boxes, because it does cut down on time. Also it does help to break down your own furniture if you can. Horrible customer service. Movers were late (my window was Friday, October 31 from 12-2 and the movers arrived at 3PM), drunk, I smelled it all on their breathe, rude, moved slow and then left on their way to the new location and did left boxes at old location. I called back twice and on the second call, they said, "oh we forgot." I called the main phone number three times and left two messages and no one called back. Once we got to the new location the driver and lead mover talked about it being too cold to move, talked about moving up to the second floor and the fact that their ready to get off-this was heard by me and my downstairs neighbor. The driver dropped two boxes and two plastic containers, breaking contents inside box and broke the two containers. The sad part is he got up and picked them up and placed them and walked out as if I did not see him- nor did he apologizing nor report the issue. I asked the main driver, what happens when things are broken he said "what do you want me to do," I then asked for the protocol and he told me if I don't pay or hold the pay he would keep my TV. The main mover continued to tell me this is not his money he only works for Alexander movers and he know the law. I, was referred by mom who has this company twice and they were fast and efficient and completed the move in three hours, did not complain, was not drunk and was not threaten. I am still waiting for a call from the owner, who was suppose to call me this morning on Saturday, November 01, 2014. read more
