    Alexander Movers are absolutely terrible. We had a 4 man crew for a local move. The "movers" were extremely slow and careless. Many items were broken. They are not real movers. Just random guys with a truck. One guy appeared to be intoxicated or under the influence of something. It took 3 hours just to load up the truck. Inefficiently done. A 3 bedroom apt with about 2 bedrooms worth of stuff. It should not have taken 5+ hours for an apt move. One guy who stayed on the truck was taking a break, sitting on my sofa, talking on his phone instead of loading the truck. When I commented on it he became belligerent and continued to talk on the phone, moving items with one hand. No effort, no hustle. A complete waste of time. If I didn't help we would still be loading the truck. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. Trust me you will regret it. Also the moving truck has a hole in the top of it, so if it rains your items will be wet! They only accept cash which they demand every two hours. Seriously these other 5 star ratings cannot be real. These people are NOT PROFESSIONAL MOVERS. No real movers that are hired to do a move will gripe about the scope of work. They had no dolly's or other equipment. Wardrobe boxes or anything to help with the move. It shouldn't take 5+ hours to move literally 8 blocks.

    This is by far the worst company I've ever used for a move. I was charge for 4 hours all for them to leave my furniture in the hallway assuming that I didn't have more money. Please don't use this company poor customer service, they don't wrap your items. I'm also reporting them to BBB. This a black owned business with horrible service. Single women please have a man with you on the day of your move.

    My husband and I hired Alexander Movers for a small move on February 29th after being referred to them by a friend who claimed to have used them several times without issue. We needed to move furniture ONLY 3 bedrooms, living room, and dining room furniture nothing major. We also took down both beds with the exception of 1 because it requires more than 1 person to take down the bed and I couldn't help my husband with that. We hired 4 guys (so that things could roll as quickly as possible as we had an event scheduled for later that day) and paid for 3hrs. We were told initially that they would arrive between 9:00am-11:00am, we called multiple times and were told that they were on another move, we finally got in touch with someone from the office and was advised that we were given the incorrect time and that they would arrive by 4:00pm. They arrived to my house around 3:45pm my husband completed a payment and signed an estimate of charges form and they began moving our things. It took 4 people almost 2 and a half hours to move less than 15 pieces furniture that had already been broken down for efficiency and convenience. They complained of being tired from moving all day and was happy that this was their last move for the night. 1 of the guys that was there to assist with the move disappeared for what seemed to be an hour, and the other guy that was there was an older gentleman who basically gave orders and helped take down the 1 bed that I mentioned above. They were supposed to wrap our furniture so that there were no damages sadly, they did not wrap some of the furniture, and the furniture that they did wrap was not done properly resulting in damages. When we got to our destination conveniently our time had run out and they had an instant boost of energy moving the same pieces of furniture that took 2 and a half hours to move out of the old house, into the new house in less than 20 minutes. The guy who acted as a supervisor told us they would not be setting up our furniture (which we paid for) or moving it to the appropriate area's of the house unless we paid for more time. Paying for more time was out of the question because we paid for ample amount of time given the amount of furniture that we had. My husband signed a carbon copy of a form and they left. I called the owner to explain all that happened the conversation got very heated after the owner rudely told my husband and I we were making "lot of noise" by voicing our complaint. We agreed to disagree and ended the call. I inspected my furniture and noticed damages and I made a note to call the owner that following Monday. I called him and explained my damages and he promised to send a mitigator by the name of Dwayne to my property by the end of the week. That never happened so I reached out to my attorney to have her contact the owner. The owner sent her several documents (that we've never seen before) with my husbands signature that of course protects his company. I have never seen the original copy's of these documents and my husbands only recalls signing 3 documents but he furnished 7 to my attorney, I would love to see the original copies of the documents but I'm sure they will never surface. This move was nothing short of a nightmare, We were left with damaged furniture, paid for services that were not received, and then hit with these mystery documents that takes the liability from the moving company and places it on the customer. This was a lesson learned for us , had I took the time out to read the reviews about this company that were left by other customers having some of the same experiences I would have never hired them. I hope this review helps others. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN, NOR WILL I EVER REFER THEM TO ANYONE THAT I KNOW.

    I was initially so impressed with All My Sons dba "New City Moving". They quoted me $190/hr for…read morelabor plus a $290 flat fee, and I paid a $100 deposit. The team confirmed all the details ahead of time, including my request to move over 10 pieces of artwork. They estimated a 5-hour move with three men, and on the day of the move, they arrived promptly at 8 AM, worked efficiently, and completed the move-out by 1 PM. The move-in process at my new home started at 1 PM and wrapped up around 3 PM. Throughout the day, the team was respectful, careful with my belongings, and truly seemed to go the extra mile. I was so appreciative of their hard work that when the team lead, Sergio, requested a cash tip, I went to the ATM and withdrew $500 -- $200 of which I gave directly to the crew as they finished up. Unfortunately, this is where my experience took a sharp turn. I placed the remaining $300 in my purse, consisting of one $100 bill and $200 in $20 bills. After noticing the sky open up around 2:30 PM with heavy rain, I felt even more sympathetic to their efforts and decided to give them an additional $100. When I went to retrieve the money, I was shocked to find my purse had been disturbed and only $100 (in 20's) remained. To make matters worse, when I returned to my old apartment to finish cleaning, I found a pile of belongings left behind. Despite paying for a full-service move, it seems the crew simply decided some of my things weren't worth taking. The lack of communication and care was beyond frustrating. And if all of that wasn't enough, after providing my email address multiple times, I still have not received an itemized receipt, invoice, or a clear breakdown of charges. The final bill came to $2,145 -- almost twice the original estimate -- leaving me furious. After deducting the $100 deposit, I owed $2,045. I understand that moving is tough and unexpected factors can arise, but the dramatic increase in cost combined with the apparent theft, lack of accountability, and poor service left a lasting impression. I cannot in good conscience recommend All My Sons dba "New City Moving." While the physical labor of the move was well done, the lack of integrity and professionalism by at least one member of the crew completely ruined the experience. If you decide to use this company, I strongly advise keeping your valuables secured, double-checking that all your belongings are loaded, documenting all interactions, and following up on the communication regarding your charges.

From my first chat with Roy to saying bye to him in MA this move was a breeze. Roy took the time to explain all my options, including not using his service. After talking I decided to use his team because of his reasonable price and my confidence in him. He made himself available to me by text prior to the move and assured me all my anxieties were unfounded. On move day he and his team loaded my things quickly and carefully. He even confirmed which boxes were fragile. After he left I flew to MA and the next day around noon they arrived to unload my things. Everything, including my white (!!!) couch, was in perfect condition. A one day turn around for a long distance move is unheard of. Their service was above and beyond. I am appreciative of their kindness and courtesy. Roy and his team weren't just professional they were personal. They truly care about their clients. I am grateful for them making a stressful and emotional relocation as easy as possible. Using Roy and his team for this move was the best choice. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for movers short/long distance.
